Chapter 60

Antonio Ferrari- I can see why you want that. It may come to pass. Or maybe not. Honestly, that's something I can't answer as that scenario of him being either an Everchosen of Chaos or one of Order will have to happen way in the future. And be too big of a spoiler to reveal now. Yes.

Maybe Sotek will be added. I mean the Lizardmen have been confirmed to play a large role in this story so maybe Sotek will come.

Oh no, that's not happening for a long time I'm afraid. No Fairy Tail character will use the Winds of Magic yet. For lore reasons that I think are right, according to my interpretation of it at least, you have to actually be born with the ability to use the Winds of Magic. You can't just suddenly be gifted the ability to use the Winds. Well, actually, you can but that requires the patronage of a God to do so or some powerful magic artifacts. Like Sigmar with his priests or three of the Chaos Gods with their followers. So I guess I can make some Fairy Tail characters eventually use the Winds of Magic. But it'll be a long time before that happens. One, because there are no Winds of Magic in Fairy Tail because the Winds are literally just energy from the Chaos Realm and it hasn't yet made a significant appearance in Fairy Tail. Two, the aforementioned needing a god or some powerful artifact to do so. And three, how can they go to the Warhammer World to do that scenario? The Sisters don't want to do that at all considering that will only attract the Chaos Gods to Fairy Tail when that happens. Bye-bye innocence of Earthland. And also a lot of lives too.

Now we know Khorne and Tzeentch know about Earthland right now, but the Sisters don't.

Now, with all that being said, there may be a plot point with a certain ice user of Earthland with another ice user from the Warhammer world. Just saying. Maybe it'll happen. Maybe not.

elljayskywalker-

Yeah, I always wondered who Laxus' grandmother was. I always suspected it was either just a random girl or something. Could have been Porlyusica, but given her limited time in the story, I doubt it.

Eh, I could do that, but the Slayer of Kings has a daemon inside it. Doing that will only complicate matters for Khorne and Tzeentch. They want to test the mettle of Fairy Tail world first with the Beastmen before doing anything else. Plus, they already have an agent in mind to do all that regarding Diederick.

Also, the timeline for Warhammer here right now is that Prince Yuri hasn't yet gone to save Ursun. So, Be'lakor hasn't done his ultimate plan yet.

Tzeentch doesn't want that for the advisor. The advisor, who was never given an official name to my knowledge, is under his control, even if the advisor doesn't realize it, and he wants the guy to steer Kislev or Cathay into distracting Nurgle and Slaanesh for him. At least here.

Blazblade- Yeah, that eventually will show up in a later chapter. For now, we're focusing on Makarov's past.

You'll see when we eventually get to that arc.

Djoklecjan- Slaanesh would probably gain power. Just like all the Gods of Chaos. I mean, lots of anime worlds can give a lot to the Chaos Gods. Especially Slaanesh.

Yes, Gajeel would go after Oxyotl. And would probably fail at a rematch and get his butt handed to him again.

Yes, and that bombshell will likely get eclipsed by something. Whether that be by Chaos or the Druchii.

Reviews are appreciated, but not necessary.

Naestra

"You and Miss Porlyusica were lovers once?" Said Erza in shock as she looked at Makarov, who just nodded in confirmation while looking fondly at the picture in his hands. Erza had never expected this from her master nor from Porlyusica.

She had heard about the reputation of Makarov during his youth. How he acted so much like Natsu during his time in Fairy Tail. Even in his forties, he acted so much like Natsu that one could say that Natsu was Makarov's real grandchild and they could be forgiven for thinking that. To hear that Makarov had a relationship with Porlyusica, who was known for being stern and strict back then, not to mention having a disdain towards humans for some reason, was shocking to the scarlet-haired woman. Even Naestra was stunned at this information, having never thought that Porlyusica and Makarov were in love at one point. She had met the women a few times as they lived in the same forest, both by accident and because she felt like meeting the woman that used to be a part of the team that Makarov led during his youth. She was a stern one and had a strange dislike towards humans, but seemed to tolerate members of Fairy Tail. If only a little. Even Naestra and Arahan weren't spared from her dislike, despite Naestra's kind nature. Going back to focus, Naestra never imagined Porlyusica was in a relationship with Makarov given her constant negative remarks about the man whenever he was brought up during Naestra's meetings with the pink-haired woman.

"We were indeed." Said Makarov as he stopped looking at the picture to look at both Naestra and Erza. "It may come as a shock to you two but we had quite a relationship with one another. One that made both of us quite happy."

"How did such a relationship come to be?" Asked Naestra as she recovered from the revelation. "Your personalities are so different that I never thought you two were in love with each other."

"Well, opposites attract as they say." Said Makarov with a smile as he reminisced about the good times with Porlyusica. "You wouldn't believe the number of times that Porlyusica hit me for just being myself. In fact, there were times when I feared Porlyusica's wrath more than even the Magic Council or Fairy Tail's second master. You may not believe it, but she used to give out a good punch that can knock me out in one shot. Now that was a woman." Naestra, hearing the love and fondness in Makarov's voice, smiled a bit to see such love between two people, even if it was slightly odd to her. She rarely ever saw such love in her old home but found it in abundance in this world. Perhaps a result of the lack of Chaos influence here or perhaps because of the relative peace in this world.

"I see." Said Naestra before adopting a more serious expression. "But you aren't married anymore? Are you?" Upon hearing that, Makarov sighed before replying.

"Yes, I'm afraid. And we were never married, though I wish we were." Said Makarov in sorrow. "As you may have gathered, Porlyusica was with my child, my very first child. It should have been something to be happy about, and for a time, it was, but then they died and I made a mistake that ended our relationship."

"What happened?" Asked Naestra upon hearing the sorrow in Makarov's voice. The Guild Master of Fairy Tail sighed before telling both Naestra and Erza what happened.

Years Ago

Makarov

"Porlyusica! I can't believe that we're going to have a baby soon." Said a young Makarov as he gently rubbed his right hand on Porlyusica's large belly, a look of happiness and awe on his face along with the stupidest grin that Porlyusica had ever seen on Makarov's face and she had seen plenty of stupid faces on that man, even before they got into a relationship.

Rolling her eyes, Porlyusica spoke while taking Makarov's hand off her belly.

"Even when we've been with each other for two years, you're still the careless idiot that I met all those years ago." Said young Porlyusica as she glared at Makarov, though they held no real malice or annoyance at him. Rather they held love instead.

"*Crackles* Yeah, but that's the reason you love me, after all." Said Makarov with a cocky smile as he rubbed the back of his head. Porlyusica just rolled her eyes again but smiled at her lover. To think that when they first met, she hated Makarov and the teammates that would become her closest friends.

When she first joined Fairy Tail, she was absolutely dismayed with how the people of Fairy Tail interacted. The constant fighting. The constant breaking of furniture and the constant breaking of private property and collateral damage with their reckless actions. It drove her off the rockers. And then, to make matters worse for her, she learned that she was being assigned to Makarov Dreyer's team. The most rumbustious and destructive team in Fairy Tail.

Granted, most of that reputation came from one member of the team, their leader, Makarov Dreyar, but that didn't stop them from being the most infamous team in Fairy Tail. Makarov's power and lack of restraint always ended up causing massive property damage and caused Fairy Tail so many troubles than literally everyone else in the Guild. Everyone else was okay, Porlyusica guessed, but every now and then they helped Makarov in destroying public property and even getting Fairy Tail in trouble with the Magic Council and local authorities. For God's sake, the first mission she had with her new team was all of them wrecking an entire bank and the surrounding buildings. It angered her that she was lumped with her new team when the Magic Council came and yelled at them for the destruction along with their standard letters of complaint towards Fairy Tail for the destruction.

When she asked the Guild Master, Guild Master Precht, why she was with such a destructive and loud team, the Guild Master explained to her that it was for not only her benefit but also Makarov's team. The team could benefit from having a cool head amongst them, to steer them away from more destructive plans so as to prevent collateral damage, and she could benefit from their passion. Porlyusica thought she wouldn't gain anything beneficial from Makarov and his team but ultimately bowed to Precht's decision.

At first, as Porlyusica thought, she and her new team leader didn't get along well. While she did get along with the rest of the team relatively well, she and Makarov didn't get along well. His reckless and boisterous personality conflicted hard with her own stoic and collected personality. Thus, they butted heads constantly. In fact, if it weren't for the constant efforts of the others, Porlyusica and Makarov would probably be at each other's throats constantly. Whether it be for the most complex and justifiable reasons like battle strategies or the simplest and petty of reasons like table manners or how to spend their money after a completed job. The two had been at each other's throats so much that there was even a betting pool on which of them will start the next argument.

As time went on, however, Porlyusica and Makarov learned to trust and respect one another. They saw the positives of each other's characters and personalities and learned to really appreciate each other's abilities and what they bring to the team. Eventually, they fell in love with one another and began a relationship.

The entire guild and especially their team was overjoyed for them. They all thought they can not only each other's shortcomings but also help each other grow as people. That and they absolutely loved to tease them whenever they get the chance. Telling them that opposites attract or that they were made for one another. Porlyusica had rolled her eyes at her guild whenever they teased them. Makarov was...more confrontational when it came to the teasing. Even more so when people teased them about their sex life. That really ticked him off. She still recalled the amount of money the guild spent when Makarov sent the last idiot to tease them about their bed life.

Regardless of the teasing, Porlyusica was happy with her relationship with Makarov. And things only got better when she became pregnant with their child. Several months into their relationship and the two decided to take it to the next level with a child. Porlyusica had to admit it took longer than she thought possible, but they finally managed to conceive a child. Not that she was complaining much, although she wouldn't tell anyone that. Not even Makarov.

Holding her belly, Porlyusica wondered if they were going to have a boy or a girl. Either would be perfectly fine with Porlyusica. She would love her child no matter what. Although she did hope that they gain her self-restraint and more from her side than Makarov. If only so that the Guild doesn't have to worry about another destructive loose cannon in their ranks that can continue Fairy Tail's reputation of carelessness and destruction of…everything around them.

"It won't be long until we have your child, Makarov." Said Porlyusica with a small smile. She rarely, if ever, smiled like Makarov and the others. Though Makarov didn't care, her smiles were lovely no matter what their size was. "What do you think we should name them? I was thinking of Mary for a girl and Asher for a boy. What do you think?"

"I don't care what their names are." Said Makarov with a big goofy smile. "They're going to be our baby boy or girl regardless and I'll beat up anyone that makes fun of their name. You can bet on that." Porlyusica, of course, rolled her eyes at that as that wasn't the answer that she was looking for.

"Oh, Makarov." Said Porlyusica as she looked at her love in amusement. She really hoped their child gets more of her brains than his brawn. She didn't know if the Guild can handle an offspring of Makarov that was just like him. Chuckling as she thought of the amount of despair that will come from that, Porlyusica was looking forward to the day her child came.

Present

Naestra

"But that day never came." Said Naestra as Makarov finished his description of that day. Sighing at that, Makarov nodded at Naestra's comment.

"Yes, it never did." Said Makarov as he recalled that day and the days that either preceded it or came after it. "I don't know what exactly happened, but Porlyusica suffered a miscarriage." Hearing that caused both Erza and Naestra to gasp in shock.

"I'm sorry to hear that." Said Naestra as she looked at Makarov in sympathy. "My people rarely ever have such things occur, but when they do it's a tragedy that often brings much sorrow and days of mourning to the expecting mother and her family."

"Indeed." Said Makarov as he recalled the pain and misery when they were told that Porlyusica suffered a miscarriage. "And it did with the Guild that day. But I think Porlyusica suffered the most. Even more so than me. The days she spent crying and being alone in her home in the forest and mourning her lost child were long and extensive."

"Alone?" Asked Naestra when she heard that. "You weren't with her?" Makarov sighed at that.

"Yes." Said Makarov as one of his biggest regrets came to light once again. "I've made many mistakes during my time in Fairy Tail. Many of them I'm still not too proud of. What I did after the miscarriage of my first child. That was one of the biggest I've ever done. It cost me my first love and resulted in her nearly leaving the Guild."

"Master." Said Erza in shock at what she was hearing. "What did you do?" Makarov sighed before explaining.

"After I heard the news, I did a few things I'm not too proud of." Said Makarov. "Grief is a powerful emotion. It can cloud your judgment and make you do many foolish things. Things that can never be forgiven or at least hard to do. *Sighs* When I heard my child didn't make it, I went out drinking to drown out my sorrows. I got even easier to anger and I said the stupidest of things to my teammates. Things that I'm grateful for that they forgive me for saying to them in the first place." Makarov then took a solemn look before getting out of his chair and looking out the window of his office. "But, there was one thing that I did that Porlyusica has never forgiven me for and it's something that she is well within her rights to never forgive me for. After all, I broke our promise to one another to always be faithful to each other." Upon hearing that, Naestra put together the pieces, both of what she already knew of Makarov and what he had just told her and Erza, and realized what he did to Porlyusica that she never forgave him.

"You had an affair with another woman." Said Naestra in shocked realization, causing Erza to gasp in shock and look at both Naestra and Makarov. "Am I right?" Makarov exhaled deeply before nodding.

"Yes. More or less." Said Makarov before explaining. "It was more like a drunken one-night stand with an innocent bystander, but the end result is still the same. That alone would have enraged Porlyusica on its own, but then we learned that she became pregnant and that was when things really started to go downhill for us."

Makarov
Past

"I can't believe you!" Yelled Porlyusica as she glared at Makarov with hate and pain as tears rolled down her face. "You had a one-night stand with a woman and got her pregnant!? It's only been a few months since my miscarriage and you think you can just replace our child with another? And with another woman at that?!"

"That's not what I did and you know it!" Yelled Makarov as he glared at Porlyusica. He had just told her what had happened between him and a girl from a respectable inn in Magnolia. And how she was pregnant with his child. Needless to say, Porlyusica was pissed off.

"Oh yes, it is what it is!" Yelled Porlyusica as she glared at Makarov. "You got sick of me so you decided to go get a younger woman to have a baby with. Especially after I failed to get you a child. What!? I'm suddenly not good enough anymore, Makarov!? Is that it!?"

"Porlyusica." Said Bob as he finally started to intervene. He and the rest of Makarov's and Porlyusica's team were with the two when Makarov gave this shocking information to them. Apparently, Makarov had a one-night stand with a lovely girl at their favorite inn to visit when whenever they wanted to celebrate a good day with each other because of the food and drinks there. The one-night stand had been a few days after he received the information that Porlyusica suffered a miscarriage. That information left Bob and the rest of the team angry and disappointed in their team leader.

They had already been upset, frustrated, and disappointed in their leader before. After all, he wasn't there when Porlyusica needed him beyond the initial days of her miscarriage. Though she loved her team and considered them all brothers, they weren't the only comfort she wanted and needed. They tried to get Makarov to see Porlyusica before when they noticed he wasn't around for Porlyusica, but every time he either brushed them off or ran away from them the moment he saw them. As if he was ashamed of something. Whether it was ashamed of them or ashamed of himself, they didn't know. What they did know was that they were not happy with their leader's actions right now. His lover was in pain and she wanted him to be there for her yet he constantly does nothing for her and only for himself. It was selfish and it left them both angry at him and wondering what he was doing. Yajima believed it was a simple shame that was causing Makarov to act this way, something Rob, another team member, agreed with. However, they were still upset with Makarov as Porlyusica was his lover and teammate. It was his job, both as a lover and team leader, to help Porlyusica in these trying times. Yet he refused to do so and it left them all fuming at him. And now, top it all off, this affair with a girl at the inn and a new baby with a different woman. Needless to say, it increased the other men's disapproval of their leader, but that was nothing compared to Porlyusica's rage and hurt.

"You know it's true, Bob!" Yelled Porlyusica as she glared at Makarov, who also glared back. "This bastard used me to get a child for him and when I wasn't good enough, he threw me away like a piece of trash for something that was a bit more youthful and usable for the task. Don't tell me I'm wrong because that's exactly what it feels and looks like!" Yajima, seeing how upset Porlyusica and Makarov were getting at one another, decided to help Bob be the peacekeeper in this situation.

"Porlyusica." Said Yajima as he tried to diffuse the situation. "While I agree that has done a despicable thing to you, let's be reasonable and give him a chance to explain himself. It may provide some insight into his actions."

"Insight that we don't need!" Yelled Porlyusica as she glared at Yajima. "Why do we need anymore when he's proven time and time again that he doesn't give a damn about me anymore! If he ever cared about me at all in the first place." Upon hearing that, Makarov glared at Porlyusica even harder than before. It was one thing to yell and be angry with him, which is justified mind you, but it was another thing entirely to accuse him of never loving her in the first place.

"Why the hell do you think that?" Demanded Makarov to his lover, enraged that she thought he never loved her in the first place. It hurt, but it also made him mad. "Did our dates from before not mean anything to you? The close moments we had together? The love we had when we realized we were going to have a child!? Did all that mean nothing to you!?"

"Yes, after everything you did after the miscarriage!" Yelled Porlyusica in rage as she looked Makarov straight in the eye. Upon seeing this, along with the fresh tears going down her face, Makarov saw the pain and sorrow in Porlyusica's eyes and he realized just how much pain Porlyusica was in because of his infidelity and that he wasn't there when she needed him the most.

"You honestly think I wouldn't think that after all the time you haven't been there for me!? When I was in pain and sorrow after losing our baby?" Yelled Porlyusica as she vented her frustration and anger at Makarov for all the shit that he put her through. "I was hurt deeply by you not being there when I needed you and now you put this on top it all! Can't you use that head of yours this once to realize just how much trouble you've put yourself into? Do you!" Makarov, seeing the pain and sorrow in Porlyusica's words, left him speechless and feeling ashamed of himself. Before he could say anything, Porlyusica spoke again. "And I'm not giving you a chance to defend yourself, Makarov! It's time that you learn that your actions have consequences. Consequences that you can't undo with a simple apology. I quit this team and Fairy Tail as a whole!" Upon hearing that, everyone looked at Porlyusica in shock, horrified that she would say something like that. Before anyone can stop her, she then began demanding everyone leave, getting angrier and angrier as time went on. Eventually, she was forced to use a broom and forced them all out. Once she kicked everyone out, Porlyusica slammed the door closed and locked it.

"Porlyusica!" Yelled Makarov on top of the pile of men that Porlyusica made from her former team as he looked at Porlyusica's house and saw the drapes covering the windows. "Porlyusica!"

Present

"After that, she went to the guild the next day to officiate her quitting the guild, ignoring everyone that tried to talk to her, and she soon began the life of a hermit. Closing off any and all human interactions beyond the bare minimum to acquire materials and food she can't get in the forest." Said Makarov, finishing his story. Sighing, he looked at Naestra and Erza, both of whom were stunned to hear the story from Makarov. Erza, in particular, was horrified that such a story came from Makarov and wasn't sure what to think of her master after this. The image she had of him prior as a wise and moral leader of Fairy Tail was a bit smudged with this revelation. Naestra, however, understood that even the kindest of people had a bit of darkness in them, even her. The darkness that they were ashamed of and tried their best to keep a minimum or to prevent from overtaking them.

"She must have calmed since then as I heard that you were taken to her during the first battle with Phantom Lord. Otherwise, she would have denied any request to heal you." Said Naestra as she looked at Makarov, who nodded in response.

"Yes." Said Makarov. "It took many years, but eventually Porlyusica let go of the past and returned to Fairy Tail as a semi-retired member. She claims it was because keeping grudges of the past was a human thing."

"You have doubts?" Asked Naestra. The look in Makarov's eyes at the question confirmed that he did indeed have doubts. "I see. I assume you learned from what you did to your lover? Yes?"

"Indeed." Said Makarov. "Porlyusica was right that it taught me a valuable lesson. Actions have consequences. Consequences that cannot be undone. I spent a few more days contemplating Porlyusica's words and my actions following the unexpected loss of my child. Eventually, with the help of my teammates and friends, I realized that everything Porlyusica said was true. I had spent so much grieving my own way that I completely had forgotten about everyone else that was hurting and by doing so I had hurt the one person that I loved more than anything else in the world. Even Fairy Tail. After that revelation, I decided that it was time for me to stop acting like I did before and I started to change myself for the better. I became calmer and more collected than before and I eventually started to become the Guild Master that you all know and love. Master Precht, the Guild Master before me, was overjoyed to see the change in my character. Enough he left the Guild in my care a few weeks later and departed on some journey that he neglected to tell me what it was about."

"So that is how you became Guild Master exactly." Said Naestra. Having read or asked people about Fairy Tail's history before Makarov and who led it before him, Naestra knows more about Fairy Tail's past than most other adults in the Guild, who seem to not care much about the past beyond themselves, Arahan included. Naestra, however, was curious and thus dedicated some time to studying Fairy Tail's past. Unfortunately, certain details were lost to many people and the books surrounding the topic. With some information even just outright missing or speculated on. "I read about it and not much was said about how you were chosen by the previous Guild Master and his reasons."

"Truth be told, there's not much even I know." Said Makarov, happy that Naestra knew some parts of Fairy Tail's history. The non-secretive parts anyway. "He claimed it was because he believed in me and my growth will lead Fairy Tail into a prosperous Guild. I tried to deny it, citing my experience with Porlyusica and my actions that led to her quitting the Guild and what I did after the miscarriage of my child, but he didn't listen and simply departed, leaving me as the third master of Fairy Tail. It was strange as it was abrupt and I had no choice but to accept his decision. Thus, I became the third master of Fairy Tail."

"I see." Said Erza as she looked at Makarov as he returned to his seat and looked at both of them. "I must admit, master, I'm quite shocked to hear all this. I'm also quite shocked that you had such a dark past and that you did such awful things."

"Myself included, Erza." Said Makarov as he closed his eyes. "Not a day goes by that I don't regret my actions in those days. I wish I can take them all back, but I can't. I must live with the consequences of my decisions and be grateful that Porlyusica is still speaking to me and assisting the Guild again." Makarov then turned his eyes to Erza. "What do you think of me now, Erza? I know that your opinion of me must have changed after this revelation and I cannot blame you for disliking me for keeping it a secret. I too hate myself for my actions that day and I will not blame you if you have some amount of disdain toward me, Erza." Upon hearing all that, Erza looked at Makarov in shock.

"Master, I would never hate you." Said Erza as she got up, slightly hurt at what Makarov said. "Master, as much as that information has been disapproving of you a bit, that doesn't excuse the fact that you regret those actions and used that regret to become a better person. You're a different person than the one that made those mistakes years ago, master, and I love the person you are now. I would have been disgusted at your younger self, I won't deny that, but right now, as it stands, I still love you and respect you as Fairy Tail's master. And the same with everyone here. Even if they were told about all this, they still love you. After all, with all the antics and complaints you had to deal with because of us yet you still love us and treat us like your children, why wouldn't we forgive you for your actions."

"Erza." Said Makarov as he heard all this. He slightly teared up at her words and was about to speak when Naestra spoke.

"Forgive me for interrupting this heart-touching moment, but I must ask." Said Naestra with a small smile, truly regretful that she was breaking such a heart-touching moment. "That woman you had a one-night stand. Is she the grandmother of your grandson, Laxus?" Upon hearing that question, Makarov cleaned the tears away with his sleeve before addressing Naestra.

"Correct." Said Makarov, getting serious. "After I became Guild Master of Fairy Tail, I helped the woman with her pregnancy all the way. Even after she gave birth to my son, Ivan Dreyar, I helped her with whatever I could. We didn't love each other, I don't think I can love a woman as much as I did Porlyusica, but we respected one another despite the drunken one-night stand. Unfortunately, she tragically lost her life in an accident in Magnolia a few months after our son was born. *Sighs* If only she didn't die, then Ivan wouldn't have turned out the way he did and so would Laxus."

"What do you mean? You blame yourself for how they act?" Asked Naestra upon hearing that.

"Correct." Said Makarov before explaining. "You see, I took Ivan into the Guild after his mother's death. I couldn't just abandon the boy when I was all he had left. The woman had no family to speak of, any she was in speaking terms anyway, thus I took him into the Guild. Fortunately, he can use magic and became a fine member of Fairy Tail. For a time, he was a good and wonder member of Fairy Tail. I even considered making him my successor, but then Ivan became darker and more psychopathic. He began to be obsessed with Fairy Tail's secrets and began to begin illegal investigations into them. He soon became a danger to not only Fairy Tail members with his actions, putting them in unnecessary danger, but also became a danger to Fairy Tail itself. Eventually, I had no choice but to excommunicate him."

"I see." Said Naestra as she and Erza listened in. "And Laxus. I assume he didn't take this too well?"

"No." Said Makarov with a sigh. "Back when he was a child, he was such a cheerful young boy that loved his grandfather and thought it was cool being the grandson of mine, but as he grew older, people began comparing him to me. They thought Laxus should be more like me. To be as wise as me. To be as strong as me. To be as moral and happy as me. His father being excommunicated didn't help things at all. In fact, it made things worse. He loved his father, despite his darker nature at the time, and tried to get me to reinstate him back. When I refused, Laxus began to resent me even more. It didn't also help that he was teased and heard things behind his back about him being a disgrace to Fairy Tail and his father. And if things needed to get even worse, he learned about the history of me and Porlyusica. About my first child."

"And that did not pan out well." Said Naestra, having a feeling about what happened.

"Correct again." Said Makarov, recalling that day. The pain, rage, and hurt that Laxus had towards Makarov when he learned about the miscarriage child and his failed relationship with Porlyusica. Not only did it taint the image he had of his grandfather even further, but it also enraged Laxus that Makarov was allowed to become the Guild Master of Fairy Tail after doing a heinous action while he excommunicated his dad for something Laxus perceived as less heinous. Makarov had tried to explain to Laxus the difference between those times and the context as much as he could without divulging sensitive information about Fairy Tail. Sensitive information that, if it fell into the wrong hands, can spell doom for not only Fairy Tail, but also all of Earthland itself. "Laxus behavior became worse after he confronted me with this information, especially when I refused to reinstate his father back into the Guild or at the very least tell him why he was excommunicated in the first place. He called me a hypocrite and left storming out of my office once he realized he wasn't making any progress on my stance on Ivan."

"I see." Said Naestra. "And you didn't explain why he was excommunicated?"

"No." Said Makarov with a firm look on his face. "That information, I'm afraid, must be kept hidden until it's necessary to reveal to you. I'm sorry. That information about Ivan must be kept to me and me alone for now. I'm sorry."

"I understand." Said Naestra with Erza nodding in understanding as well. "Well, this would certainly explain much. About Laxus at least. Do you want us to keep this information secret from everyone? Or are you fine with revealing it to them?"

"I'll reveal it to the rest of the Guild when it's appropriate." Said Makarov. "They're all celebrating the new Guild Hall, after all. We shouldn't sour their celebration of it with this information. Yes?" Erza and Naestra nodded in agreement.

"Still, I must ask." Said Naestra. "What exactly caused the miscarriage in the first place? I doubt Miss Porlyusica would have done anything to endanger the child. And how did the Dark Elves uncover this information? Better yet, why did they reveal this information to us?"

"To tear us apart?" Asked Erza, thinking it was logical. "And I've heard that sometimes miscarriages are just a chance happening. Sometimes they're such that. Misfortune."

"They also get more frequent the older a woman is." Said Makarov. "I may not be a doctor, but I know that much. And Porlyusica was around her late thirties. Perhaps it was just a result of age and chance."

"Perhaps." Said Naestra, ceding their arguments. After all, she had witnessed many times when misfortune or fortune were just chances of luck. Tzeentch and other Gods of fate and luck were known to interfere whenever it was in their interest to do so, but sometimes actions and results were just a matter of luck. Some may say otherwise, but Naestra liked to keep an open mind on things.

That being said, Naestra couldn't help but feel something was amiss with how the Dark Elves and how they tried to use it against them. As if they knew something that they didn't. But what was it?

Lilea

"Mistress! We're approaching Bosco now!" Yelled the captain of Lilea's ship as Lilea herself arrived on the deck.

"Excellent." Said Lilea, pleased to hear this. As she saw the docks of Bosco, Lilea began barking out orders. "Ready the ship and prepare a messenger to be sent to my family. It's time for them to learn of the spoils that we acquired from the Caelum Kingdom's waters! And how we can benefit from them." As her crew scrambled to obey her orders, Lilea thought of her prize and how he was going to help her regain the favor of her family again.
