In the Oval Office

The Oval Office was bathed in the soft glow of the setting sun, casting long shadows across the room. John Constantine, ever the cynic yet steadfast leader, stood by the window, looking out over the peaceful landscape of the new nation they were leading. Jesse Custer, a man with a complex past and a powerful sense of justice, sat behind the Resolute Desk, deep in thought.

John took a drag from his cigarette, exhaling slowly. "It's a hell of a view, isn't it?" he said, breaking the silence.

Jesse nodded, his eyes distant as he contemplated their journey. "Yeah, it is. Hard to believe we're here sometimes."

John turned to face Jesse, a smirk playing on his lips. "Who would've thought, eh? Two blokes like us, running a nation. It's almost laughable."

Jesse chuckled. "Life's full of surprises, John. We've both seen more than our fair share."

John walked over and sat in one of the chairs across from Jesse. "You know, when we started this, I didn't think we'd make it this far. But here we are, and things are actually... working."

Jesse leaned back in his chair, nodding thoughtfully. "We've come a long way. The people are safe, the communities are thriving. It's more than I ever hoped for."

John nodded, tapping his cigarette into an ashtray. "Yeah, but it hasn't been easy. We've faced down some real nightmares. But we've managed to keep the darkness at bay."

Jesse's expression grew serious. "We couldn't have done it alone. We've had a lot of help from people who believe in this vision. People who want a better future."

John smiled, a rare look of genuine warmth crossing his face. "Yeah, we've got a good team. And the people here, they've got heart. They want this to work as much as we do."

Jesse sighed, leaning forward. "Sometimes, I wonder if we're doing enough. There's always more to be done, more people to help."

John shook his head. "You can't save everyone, Jesse. But what we've done here... it's a damn good start. We've given people hope."

Jesse nodded slowly. "Hope. That's what it's all about, isn't it? Giving people something to believe in, something to strive for."

John leaned back, taking another drag from his cigarette. "Yeah, and keeping the demons at bay, both literal and metaphorical. It's a full-time job."

Jesse smiled. "Good thing we've got a lot of experience with that."

John laughed. "No kidding. But seriously, Jesse, we're making a difference. This place, this nation... it's a beacon. A sign that things can get better."

Jesse's gaze drifted to the window, watching the sun dip below the horizon. "We've got a long road ahead, John. But for the first time in a long time, I feel like we're on the right path."

John stood up, stretching. "Well, it's not going to get any easier. But then again, nothing worth doing ever is."

Jesse stood as well, extending his hand. "To the future, then. Whatever it may bring."

John shook Jesse's hand, a firm grip sealing their resolve. "To the future. Let's make it a good one."

As they shared a moment of camaraderie, John glanced at the door. "You know, we should get the Winchesters and Castiel in here. They've been through a lot too and have played a huge role in getting us here."

Jesse nodded in agreement. "Good idea. They deserve to be part of this conversation."

John walked over to the intercom and pressed a button. "Could you send Dean, Sam, and Castiel in here, please?"

A few minutes later, Dean Winchester, followed by his brother Sam and the angel Castiel, walked into the Oval Office. Dean's usual swagger was evident as he entered, but there was also a sense of respect for the room and the people in it.

"What's up, guys?" Dean asked, looking between John and Jesse.

John gestured to the chairs. "Take a seat. We were just talking about how far we've come and thought you should join us."

Sam smiled as he took a seat. "Sounds good. It's been quite the journey."

Castiel, ever the silent observer, nodded as he settled into a chair. "Indeed. We've faced many trials to get here."

Jesse leaned forward, his eyes serious. "We were reflecting on the state of the nation and our journey. You three have been a crucial part of this. What are your thoughts on where we are now and where we're headed?"

Dean glanced at his brother before speaking. "Honestly, I didn't think we'd make it this far. But looking around, seeing people safe and happy, it's worth all the fights and sacrifices."

Sam nodded in agreement. "We've faced a lot of darkness, but we've always managed to pull through. This place, this nation, it's a testament to what people can achieve when they come together."

Castiel, with his usual calm demeanor, added, "The challenges we've faced have made us stronger. This nation is a beacon of hope, and it's up to us to protect it and help it grow."

John leaned back, a thoughtful look on his face. "It's funny, isn't it? We all come from different places, different worlds even, but we've managed to create something beautiful here."

Jesse nodded. "It's a testament to our shared values and our commitment to making a better world."

Dean grinned. "And let's not forget the ass-kicking along the way. Can't have peace without taking down a few bad guys."

Everyone laughed, the tension in the room easing as they shared a moment of levity.

John looked at Dean, Sam, and Castiel. "So, what's next for you three? Any plans?"

Sam shrugged. "For now, we're just taking it one day at a time. Helping out where we can, enjoying the peace."

Dean nodded. "Yeah, it's nice not having to worry about the next apocalypse for once."

Castiel's expression softened. "We all deserve a break. But we're always ready if we're needed."

Jesse smiled. "That's good to hear. This nation needs people like you, ready to step up when things get tough."

John finished his cigarette and put it out. "Well, whatever comes next, we face it together. We've built something incredible here, and it's up to us to keep it going."

Dean raised his glass of water in a toast. "To the future. May it be bright and filled with peace."

The others raised their glasses, echoing the sentiment. "To the future."

As they settled back into their seats, John brought up another topic. "You know, we've put a lot of faith in The One Above All. It's not often you trust someone with that much power."

Jesse nodded. "True, but The One Above All has proven to be just, compassionate, and wise. It's not blind faith; it's trust built on actions."

Dean leaned forward, his expression serious. "When you've been through as much as we have, you learn to recognize true power. And The One Above All... there's something different about that kind of power. It's not just strength, it's... benevolence."

Sam added, "We've seen the worst of what power can do. But we've also seen what true leadership looks like. The One Above All has given us this opportunity, this peace. That kind of protection and guidance isn't something you take lightly."

Castiel spoke softly, "The One Above All is not just a protector but a guardian of balance. There's a sense of purpose and destiny that comes from that kind of leadership."

John nodded thoughtfully. "Yeah, and it's not just about ruling with an iron fist. It's about nurturing, guiding, and protecting. That's why we've been able to build what we have here."

Jesse agreed. "And knowing that The One Above All is watching over us, it gives people hope. It gives them the strength to keep going, to keep building this new world."

Dean looked around at the group, a rare moment of vulnerability in his eyes. "It's good to know we're not alone in this. That there's someone out there looking out for us, making sure we don't fall back into chaos."

John smirked. "Well, with the team we've got and the support from The One Above All, I'd say we're in pretty good hands."

Jesse nodded, his expression resolute. "We just need to keep doing our part. Leading with integrity, protecting our people, and fostering the hope and peace we've fought so hard to achieve."

Sam smiled. "We've come a long way, and we've got a long way to go. But with each other and with The One Above All, I think we'll make it."

John raised his glass once more. "To The One Above All, and to us. Here's to a future worth fighting for."

The others raised their glasses again, the clink of glass a symbol of their unity and shared purpose. As the sun set on the new nation, the leaders sat together in the Oval Office, united in their vision and ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead. Their journey had been long and arduous, but together, they had forged a path of hope and resilience, leading their people into a brighter tomorrow.
