Caelid, a land corrupted by the scarlet rot, went from a once natural landscape to what it was now, a hell on earth. Survival in this harsh region was difficult, yet not impossible. Some creatures afflicted with the scarlet rot seemed unhindered by it, allowing them to hunt down prey that found itself in their hunting grounds.
Ainz observed this through his scrying mirror, noting the abnormal creatures and a giant dragon. He had found nothing interesting yet, only encountering abnormal creatures and a giant dragon.
'I could turn this dragon into one of my undead. It could act as a troop transport.' that was Ainz's first thought when he gazed upon the dragon through his mirror. But that wasn't his mission. The Overlord of Death had other plans.
'Sellen told me, that Radahn is the one keeping the stars in place, and only if the stars are to continue their course, Ranni's fate would go on as well. I'm not sure what it exactly means, but I'll probably see it once Radahn is dead or defeated. I would rather keep him for myself.' Ainz pondered. Radahn seemed more reasonable than the other Demi-Gods he read about.
With him on his side, he could have the backing of one of the strongest beings in these lands. It was not a bad idea, but getting his support would be difficult. He needed a motive, some reason why he should stay with Ainz instead of wandering off or even fighting the Overlord after he had him resurrected. It was a risk, and Ainz wasn't sure if he wanted to take it.
Ainz focused the mirror on a distant castle looming under a blood-red sky, hoping to find something of interest there.
'No one has detected me yet. Either anti-scrying magic isn't common here or doesn't exist.' He thought, peering into the castle's court. There, he heard a voice from atop the walls, shouting toward the ghostly appearances on the ground.
"Champions, welcome! The stars have aligned! The Festival is nigh! General Radahn, mightiest Demi-God of the Shattering, awaits you!" The man shouted, dressed in medieval armor and holding a bastard sword, pointed toward the ground. "Champions, prepare for battle! Defeat the General, claim glory, and grab that Great Rune! A celebration of war! The Radahn festival!" The man screamed at the top of his lungs.
'So defeating Radahn has become a sort of challenge for the people of these lands. Interesting. I wonder what will happen if I kill Radahn before them.' Ainz mused, continuing to scry beyond the castle across the wasteland Radahn preyed over. The land seemed lifeless, as anyone entering would be killed and eaten by the brain-rotted demi-god.
Not long after, Ainz spotted a figure on the horizon, wandering around aimlessly.
'This must be him. He's certainly tall and fearsome, just as described. I wonder…' Reaching out, he created a [Gate] a few hundred meters above the General. 'Bone Vulture, enter.' He commanded one of his low-tier undead. Without hesitation, it flew into the portal, appearing on the other side of it. While it wasn't close to Radahn, if Ainz were in Radahn's position, he would have noticed the Bone Vulture from a mile away.
'Get closer.' He ordered the undead. The vulture descended toward the demi-god, yet Radahn did not react.
'This seems weird. He isn't an undead, that much I can tell. But he doesn't react to the Bone Vulture at all.' Ainz contemplated why that could be the cause. Perhaps he simply didn't have an interest in the Bone Vulture. 'Okay, next thing should be to see if he reacts if provoked. Bone Vulture, attack.'
The Bone Vultur circled lower, its eyes locked onto Radahn. With a sudden screech, the vulture dove onto the General with its sharp claws, hoping to get a good strike at the Demi-God. Hitting Radahns left shoulder, the vulture made practically zero damage, yet it seemed to provoke the General's attention.
With a thunderous cry, Radahn chased the Bone Vulture on his small, crippled horse, moving with surprising speed.
The vulture attempted another strike, but Radahn countered, slashing the undead in half.
'So he does get aggressive if attacked. If I were to walk around there, he wouldn't see me as a worthy enemy or, rather, as food. Yes, that must be it. Since he feeds on corpses, he must think an undead isn't worth the trouble as long as it doesn't disturb him.' Ainz could certainly use this to his advantage. 'Now about his fighting strength. He seems to be mainly a warrior. But since he can use some sort of gravitational magic, I would expect some spells or two from him. Yet so far, he hasn't shown any of that yet.' Radahn's maximum damage output remained a mystery, but that wasn't that much of a problem for him. If Radahn would appear too difficult for him and his undead to handle, Ainz would simply teleport away.
"I see you have decided your next target." A voice came from behind.
"Yes, Melina. I have decided to aid Ranni's cause and defeat Radahn. I hope he will not be too troublesome. But I have another topic I would like your thoughts about. What if Radahn joined our side? If I could remove the scarlet rot from his body, would he ally himself with us?" Ainz asked, seeking her opinion.
Melina's eyes flickered with hesitation. "Radahn was the most prideful and honorable Demi-God. If you were any other person, he might, but your… appearance might turn whatever alliance you could have made with him into a battle to the death. I am unsure if he is conscious right now and if he would thank you for curing him. Yet that is only my opinion on the matter. What really would happen is something I cannot predict." Melina answered.
Ainz pondered this before responding. "Very well, Melina. I will proceed with caution. For the first part of the fight, I will only observe Radahn and hope to find a weakness I can exploit. If not, I'll simply send my strongest spells at him."
Melina nodded, her ethereal form shimmering slightly. "I trust your judgment, Ainz. Just remember, even the greatest of strategies can be foiled by unforeseen circumstances."
'You don't have to tell me that.' He mused, then turned back to his mirror where Radahn roamed. 'Let us begin then.'
In an instant, Ainz appeared before a small army of his own, assembled at the base of his fortress.
It comprised 40 Death Knights, their swords and shields ready to form a tight phalanx. 50 Elder Liches, hovering in the air, prepared to cast spells and summons. 10 Soul Eaters, lurking at the front of the army, waiting to siphon life force out of Radahn. 10 Death Warriors, armored with two swords, standing behind the Death Knights. 10 Death Assassins, silent and deadly shadowy creatures clothed in dark leather. 5 Death Priests, here to chant curses and support spells. And at last, a Corpse Collector and Jack the Ripper.
Additionally, there were creatures from this world Ainz had turned into his undead: an Undead Flying Dragon Agheel, an Undead Black Knife Assassin, an Undead Night Cavalry, an Undead Tree Sentinel, and a Deathbird.
Anyone who saw such a force from afar would be terrified by the sight alone. Ainz was most proud of that.
'Now for the support we need.' Ainz reached into his inventory, and a golden staff with a disastrous aura emerged, with seven snakes and seven orbs resting in their mouths.
"[Summon: Primal Star Elemental]"
He chanted, and a swirl of cosmic energy formed before him, slowly creating a giant creature out of celestial bodies, towering most of his other forces.
'That won't be enough.' He thought, taking it even further, his cautious nature showing.
"[Summon High-Tier Undead: Doom Lord]"
Another creature rose before Ainz, darkness molding itself into an armored being with a crown resting atop his head, his face the nightmares of kings.
'More.'
"[Summon High-Tier Undead: Elemental Skull]"
Ainz felt his limits encroaching on him. A floating skull appeared before him, shimmering in all different colors. This was when he knew he could not summon or create anymore.
"This will suffice." He concluded, storing his staff back into his inventory. With a snap of his fingers, he opened a [Gate] before his troops, big enough to let even the dragon pass through. "Enter." He commanded them.
One by one, his undead stepped through the gate, emerging on the other side in the desolate wasteland of Caelid. The air was thick with the scent of decay, and the sky was painted a sickly red. One would think Ainz's troops would fit right into the scene.
In the distance, Radahn roamed, his massive form casting a long shadow across the barren land.
Ainz stepped through at last, closing the portal behind him. Back in his fortress, he only saw the landscape, yet now he could hear the wind howling with the cries of souls.
"Death Knights, form the front line. Shield our forces from Radahn's initial assault." Without hesitation, the undead monstrosities stepped forward, forming the first line of defense against the Demi-God.
"Elder Liches, support the Death Knights with ranged spells. Focus on weakening Radahn's defenses and applying effects." The undead magic casters nodded, aligning themselves behind the Death Knights.
"Flying Dragon Agheel, take to the skies and harass Radahn from above. Distract him from our damage dealers and draw his attention." With a cry, the dragon took to the skies.
"Black Knife Assasin and Night Cavalry, flank Radahn and strike at his weak points. Death Assassins, follow the Black Knife Assassin's lead." Quickly, the mentioned undead prepared themselves for the attack.
"Deathbird, provide aerial support and intercept any attacks aimed at our flanking units." The bird flapped its wings, floating above the army.
"Tree Sentinel, hold the center and prevent Radahn from breaking through our lines." The mounted knight nodded and took position before the Death Knights.
"Death Warriors and Soul Eaters, support the front lines and engage Radahn in close combat."
"Death Priests, heal our forces and provide buffs. Do not let our front line fail."
"Jack the Ripper and Corpse Collector, sow chaos and confusion among any reinforcements Radahn might summon."
"Elemental Skull, Doom Lord, and Primal Star Elemental, unleash your most devastating attacks. Focus on overwhelming Radahn with raw power."
The last of his forces moved into position, now being ready for the ambush on the Demi-God.
"Now, attack!" Ainz ordered.
The Elder Liches unleashed a barrage of spells, ranging from fire and ice to lightning. As they hit him, Radahn's head snapped toward them, groaning while he received damage.
The Demi-God roared, his voice shaking the very ground beneath them. He charged forward, his massive sword cleaving through the air.
The Death Knights met his charge. Their shields raised as Radahn's sword collided with their phalanx, sending a shockwave through their ranks. But they held, barely.
From behind, the Tree Sentinel struck against Radahn with his halberd, hitting the Demi-God from behind. Enraged, Radahn swung his swords at the mounted knight, who blocked with his shield. The impact knocked the Sentinel back, and Radahn prepared to charge at him.
The Death Knights seized the opportunity to thrust their bastard sword forward. But their attacks did little damage. Radahn ignored them for now, focusing on the Tree Sentinel first.
"Primal Star Elemental, now!" Ainz shouted. A beam of cosmic energy hit the demi-god from the side, making him cry out in pain. Radahn used his swords to block the incoming energy, not expecting an ambush from behind.
The Black Knife Assassin mounted Radahns back, thrusting its knife into the General's neck while the Death Assassins attacked the weak points in the armor. The Night Cavalry slashed at Radahn's leg, forcing him to his knees.
Surrounded and overwhelmed by enemies, Radahn struggled, his anger rising and his hunger growing. With a burst of energy, he sent the surrounding undead flying, knocking them back several meters. He raised his swords and thrust them into the ground, forming rock around them.
'Not good. Undead are weak against bludgeoning weapons, and he just turned his swords into them.' Ainz thought as he continued to observe.
The Elder Liches sent another barrage of spells toward the Demi-God while the Death Priests used that distraction to heal the hurt undead.
Radahn saw this, shifting his focus toward the Elder Liches. The others were too far away to stop him from cutting the Elder Liches down, meaning Ainz had to utter another command.
"Flying Dragon Agheel, attack!" Without hesitation, the dragon descended onto the Demi-God, using its sharp claws to dig into his flesh and raise him into the air. Radahn struggled first, finding his movement impeded drastically. Growling low, he unleashed another shockwave from himself, freeing himself from the dragon's grip as he dropped to the ground.
"Doom Lord, now!" The level 70 undead charged at the falling Demi-God, using its scythe to send attack after attack. Around him, a black mist surrounded his body. It was one of his abilities, making him lose HP drastically but allowing him to do extra damage. Also, allied undead would receive buffs when inside.
After the other troops recovered, they entered the fight again. The Death Warriors mounted on Soul Eaters swung their swords at the Demi-God while their mounts siphoned his health.
Again, the great General was surrounded, each swing of Ainz's undead chipping away at his health. He gritted his teeth, slamming his swords into the ground before he took off into the skies, disappearing completely.
'What is happening? Nobody said he could fly? At least not at such speeds.' Ainz wondered what would happen next. Did Radahn just escape? No, that wouldn't be possible. He must have something in mind.
Above the battleground, Ainz noticed an incoming meteor aimed right at his troops.
'Quickly, scatter!' He ordered. They did their best to flee, but as the meteor, or rather Radahn, hit the ground, the force unleashed killed the nearby Death Warriors, Death Knights, Soul Eaters, and Death Assassins.
From the original size, only about a third remained.
"Primal Star Elemental and Doom Lord, attack! Elemental Skull and Elder Liches cast spells!" He shouted, the Primal Star Elemental unleashing another ray of energy toward the Demi-God while the Doom Lord closed in, his health slowly diminishing.
'I need to use the Doom Lord before it loses all its health. It's going to go down in about a minute, and Radahn is only on half health." Ainz hoped his minions could subdue him, or he would need to waste mana on Radahn himself, which he would rather avoid. He could be killed if he were to get attacked right after, with his powers diminished.
The Doom Lord exchanged blows with the Demi-God, but the damage dealt to the Doom Lord was great enough to speed up its health decline. With one last blow, Radahn killed the Doom Lord, even while being bombarded by spells upon spells.
'The Elemental Skull does good damage. I'll just need two Death Knights guarding it while the remaining other Death Knights guard the Elder Liches.' Ainz still had a Primal Star Elemental, a Jack the Ripper and a Corpse Collector, a dragon, a Deathbird, the Tree Sentinel, the Black Knife Assassin, and the Night Cavalry. Now, he had to play his cards right and know when to play them.
Radahn targeted the Primal Star Elemental, who sent exploding stars Radahn's way. Yet the Demi-God seemed unbothered by it, enduring the damage as it neared the Elemental.
Ainz was sure Radahn wouldn't be able to deal enough damage to the level 90 creature anytime soon, but as with any other summon, the Primal Star Elemental would disappear after a while. Still, it had more than 10 minutes left.
Before Radahn could swing at the Elemental, Ainz's Deathbird dropped from above, delivering a heavy blow and making Radahn stagger. For Ainz, this seemed like an opportunity.
"Attack!" Ainz ordered. Both the Night Cavalry and the Tree Sentinel sent their halberds flying, hitting Radahn from behind and making the Demi-God cry out in pain. Yet that was not enough. The Black Knife Assassin sneaked upon Radahn, materializing in front of its helmet as it pierced his eye, twisting its knife in place.
A loud howl enveloped the landscape, the ground shaking at the Demi-God's cry. Yet that wasn't enough. Even now, Starscourge Radahn endured, wounded and beaten, but not defeated. He gritted his teeth and, with a shout, flew into the air, spinning around as he targeted the Elder Liches, their assaults on him having angered the General.
The Death Knights went in the way, but the General cut through them like butter, targeting the Elder Liches. They tried to dodge, but with each slash, he killed one of them.
"Corpse Collector, Jack the Ripper, now!" The two idle undead, yet to face Radahn, attacked him. Corpse Collector charged right at him, striking Radahn with his bare fists. Radahn met his charge with his swords, not seeing Jack the Ripper approaching rapidly. The undead joker laughed hysterically as he slashed at the Demi-God, his speed so immense he left afterimages.
'Radahn, this is over. You are beaten.' Ainz thought as he watched from the sidelines.
Only now had he seen Radahn make some powerful attacks. If the Demi-God had fought like this since the beginning of the fight, Ainz would have lost more troops to him. But he didn't, and it made Ainz question why. Perhaps it was the survival instinct of an animal, only at its weakest point making the greatest efford to survive.
Radahn used his last energy to cast many spheres of rock into the air, sending them after the Corpse Collector. The undead grunted as he got hit multiple times, blocking the incoming projectiles with his forearms.
Yet Radahn's assault suddenly halted.
Piercing through the Demi-God's chest was the Tree Sentinel's halberd, rot-infected blood dripping from it. Radahn dropped his blades and gripped the Sentinel's weapon, but the latter quickly pulled it out, only leaving a hole behind.
'It is done.' Ainz mused, nearing the collapsing form of Radahn. Without hesitation, he cast a spell on him.
"[Restore Corpse]"
Just as the General was to disappear into particles, Ainz hindered that, binding his corpse to the material plane.
'I received his Great Rune, it seems.' Ainz noticed. Just then, he saw many lights appear in the sky, falling onto the earth. Their numbers must've reached in the hundreds, all collapsing upon the Lands Between.
'So this is how I get access to that underground city. Instead of mining into the ground, kill a Demi-God that literally held the stars back. Real genius.' Ainz thought it was kind of stupid to make all this effort just to get into an underground city. It seemed regular methods weren't common in these lands. One had to go to the extreme.
Reaching into his inventory, Ainz retrieved a [Wand of True Ressurection]. While it was something he had in limited supply, Ainz wouldn't want to make any mistakes in resurrecting Radahn. Maybe with a lower-level spell, the scarlet rot would not disappear, making the Overlord opt to use this wand instead.
"Before I do this, I need some more protection." Around Ainz, grand arcane runes appeared, reaching meters around him. As 30 seconds passed, Ainz cast the Super-Tier spell.
"[Pantheon]"
Six divine figures emerged out of a blinding light, being level 80 Cherubim Gatekeepers. With the head of a lion, a flaming spear in one hand, and a shield with an eye in the other, they made for good bodyguards.
"Protect me if he attacks." Ainz pointed at Radahn's corpse.
Now that he had done this, Ainz raised his arm toward the Demi-God, wand in hand.
"[True Ressurection]"
A light shone around Radahn's body, the rotten flesh disappearing, replaced by the Demi-God's natural form.
'It should work.' Ainz was sure of this. Radahn's muscles twitched, breath escaping his mouth. He was alive. 'Cherubim Gatekeepers, stand before me and be ready.' The angels obeyed.
With slow movements, the tall General lifted himself to his feet, a slight headache plaguing him as he massaged his temple, his back facing Ainz.
"Welcome back to the living, General Radahn." The Demi-God heard a voice from behind, slowly turning around as he looked at the Overlord, his gaze scrutinizing Ainz's form. There was no say what he thought as he towered over the mysterious stranger.
Now that Ainz saw his face, it seemed less purple than before, yet still not enough to make him appear normal.
"Who are you?" Words escaped the Demi-God's mouth in a deep tone, cautious and prepared for battle. His swords lay on the ground beneath him, only a step away.
"I am Ainz Ooal Gown, the one who freed you from the scarlet rot." Radahn heard, yet the distrust in his face was visible. He watched Ainz as a predator watched over its prey. If he made one wrong move, he would attack without question.
Radahn glanced to Ainz's right and left, seeing creatures he had never seen before. Beings of divine energy comparable to the Greater Will. He thought perhaps these were agents from the Outer God, yet the creature amidst them defied that suspicion. It had no flesh, only pure-white bones to boast of. Yet it was clothed in the most majestic garments Radahn had ever seen.
Silence reigned over the two, both staring at each other relentlessly.
'What's he waiting on?' Ainz thought, his gaze unwavering.
Then it happened. Radahn, swift as he was, grasped his swords with his magic, charging at Ainz with incredible speed.
Quickly, the Cherubim Gatekeepers went on the defense, halting the General with their shields.
Momunteraly, the Demi-God was knocked back. He gritted his teeth, preparing for another attempt. He charged, meeting the angels from all angles as they readied their spears at him.
But then everything stopped, the world turning a shade of grey as matter stood in place, unmoved by time.
Radahn, confused, looked around, seeing time literally standing still. He watched the angel's unmoving bodies, but as a voice appeared behind him, he was quick to turn around.
"Now we can speak in peace, General Radahn. Please, there is no need for another battle." Ainz approached the Demi-God. "I have made great efforts to release you from your condition. So please, do not make me regret this."
The Demi-God seemed to contemplate his words. "What are you?" He asked first.
"I am an Overlord. And yes, an undead." The Demi-God twitched at that word. "But do not be alarmed. I am not evil in the sense you would think I am." Ainz explained. Radahn only watched the undead ruler with careful eyes. But after some seconds, he complied, lowering his weapons.
"What do you want from me?" He asked.
And as time resumed its course, Ainz was quick to create a table, a seat for him, and a bigger one for the Demi-God. "Please, take a seat. I wouldn't want you to stand right after your resurrection." Ainz offered, and Radahn accepted.
Both now sat face to face, or rather, face to skull.
"Now, to answer your question, not much, really. Only for you to be my ally. For your resurrection, I can ask that much, wouldn't you agree?" Ainz said, the General nodding.
"How did you bring me back to life? I never knew of someone like you who had such power. I don't quite understand." The General expressed, obviously curious about how such a thing was possible, besides the immortality and resurrection the Erdtree provided.
"A natural thing to ask in your place. Let's say I am a visitor in these lands. My magic is rather different and more straightforward." Ainz demonstrated this by creating a statue of himself in the middle of the desk and then making it disappear into thin air. The Demi-God's expression didn't change, but he was curious to learn more.
"And after beating me, you decided to bring me back? To be your ally?" He asked again.
"As I said, I do not wish for us to be enemies. I gave you a second chance to make things right. Take revenge on your enemies, return back to your men. But when I ask for your help, you will assist me." Ainz said. His offer was generous, but the General knew better than to trust the words of a stranger.
The being before him wasn't anything he had ever seen before. At first glance, one would think he was a simple skeleton, but that was far from the truth. That much the Demi-God felt.
"Is that all you would ask of me?" He asked.
"Yes. But I have another question for you. How do you feel working together with someone such as I? The Golden Order of this world seems to loathe my kind, but what about you? Can I trust you not to do the same?" Ainz inquired of the Demi-God.
True, he once was a follower of the Golden Order, yet as they banished Godfrey, he turned his back on them, going his own path and gaining one Great Rune for himself. Why did he do this? To protect his people.
"I do not trust you. Even if you are the cause of my return, I remain cautious. There have been many that tried to deceive me. I will not allow them to do so again." Radahn answered, staring at the Overlord.
"Good. Being cautious is important. I just hope we will see eye to eye in the future. Also, know that I am allied with Ranni as well, your sister, I believe?" Ainz said, lighting the memory of the Demi-God sister, his fists clenching and teeth gritting as a picture of the Empyrean appeared in his head.
"You work…with her?" He asked, slightly agitated.
"Not completely. I aided her by defeating you, and she will help me return to where I came from. Is there some problem between you two?" Ainz asked.
"While I conquered the stars and its many beasts, she worships the Dark Moon. An Outer God. One which I oppose. I tried my best against it, yet even a Demi-God cannot compare to such a being." Radahn explained.
"I see. Was there any meaning why you halted the stars in place?"
"There was. A town called Sellia was doomed to be destroyed by one, so I decided to halt each star in place, not allowing a single one to move." Radahn proclaimed, almost boasting of his achievement. "Yet now that I was defeated, they returned to their course." He said.
"Now I understand. It still questions me how you achieved such a thing, but I won't inquire any further. But tell me, how did Caelid look like before your battle with Malenia?"
Another memory lit up inside Radahn, which he would rather have kept in the shadows of his mind. The battle against her was difficult, yet in the end, he became overconfident, allowing her to use her scarlet rot-infested body against him.
"Less rotten, more alive." The Demi-God answered.
"Mmh, I want you to follow me." Ainz said before ascending into the skies. Reluctantly following him, the Demi-God asked himself the meaning behind this.
At a high enough altitude, one could see most of Caelid, as rotten as it was.
'Hope this works.' Ainz thought.
Arcane runes surrounded him. Radahn raised a brow at that, wondering what the Overlord had in mind.
"See this as a gesture of goodwill." Ainz said before activating his spell.
"[Creation]"
The runes expanded, the ground beneath the Overlord changing, cleansing itself of the rot that infested them for so long. Like a wave, Caelid's landscapes became less red and had a more natural color.
The swamp was again filled with normal water, and grass and trees finally found fertile ground on which to grow.
Radahn gasped at this scene, having expected nothing on this scale. His home, his Caelid, seemed to regain its former form, which was destroyed by the war.
"I have returned your home to how it once was, at least how you described it to me." Ainz broke the silence.
"How did you do that?" Radahn asked with genuine curiosity.
"Simple. With magic." Ainz answered, leaving the question slightly open. He did not want to speak further of Tier Magic since its weakness could be used against him, which was its limitation. But if you knew enough spells, you wouldn't have that kind of hindrance.
"Ha!" The Demi-God let out a slight laugh, one which he suppressed the moment it came out of his mouth. " I see. I do not know what to think of you, but you do not seem as bad as your appearance might suggest. From where did you come from?" He asked.
"A place I called home, from which I was driven. I intend to return and take what is mine as will you with Caelid. But it is far more complicated than I let you believe. Traveling to another universe is not what I expected…" Ainz said, the realization of his situation making him stop speaking.
"Another universe. So you are an Outer One? A being beyond this world?" The Demi-God asked.
"...Yes. And I do not intend to stay long. Whatever happens to the Lands Between is not my concern, only my return to my world. I do not know how much time has passed, but I won't waste any more time here." Ainz stated, his emotional suppression activating.
None of the two said another word until Ainz made an effort to end this conversation.
"I believe it is time I return to my fortress. I have plans for conquering Limgrave fully. While I do so, you should get Caelid back under your control, don't you agree?" Ainz proposed.
"I will." Radahn replied.
"Good. We will see each other again soon. Until then, I wish you the best of luck." Then, the Overlord disappeared, leaving an empty space and a grinning Radahn.
He just couldn't believe what just happened. It felt surreal, almost dreamlike. The residents of the Lands Between were selfish people, yet the undead he met seemed alright. Cunning, yet fair. That much he assessed. The only question he had now was, what would be the first thing he would tell his men?
