Tanya and Charlie watched Velvette leave. In the end, Velvette was too afraid to bet her soul. She had lost everything but her soul today.

Charlie looked at Silver intensely. Silver was off today, very off. She couldn't quite place her finger on it. Perhaps it was because of the exterminator by his side. Silver blinked at Charlie and sipped his coffee.

"Shall we discuss heaven's reaction?"

Silver's words brought Charlie out of her thoughts.

"Yes."

The two proceeded to discuss what heaven might do and how they would react to the battle. Charlie and Tanya came to an agreement. If heaven sought peace, then all was well. But if heaven sought war, then she and Silver would unite hell to fight back.

From the side, Lute kept quiet and watched. A big change was happening in both heaven and hell, Charlie could feel it. However, the nagging feeling from Silver didn't disappear. Silver seemed to sense something wrong with Charlie.

"Is something wrong Charlie?"

Charlie thought about it and decided to tell the truth.

"I don't know why, but I feel something off about you, and I can't quite place my finger on it. It's nagging me a lot."

Tanya became silent for a moment. She didn't expect Charlie to have detected her change lately. Well, maybe it shouldn't be a surprise. Someone was bound to find something off about you when you're scared and ready to die at any moment.

Tanya wondered if she should tell Charlie. She quickly came to a conclusion. There was no need for Charlie to know.

"There's no need for you to know Charlie, it's not something for you to handle but for me to handle."

Charlie's eyes widened. That's where the nagging feeling she got came from. For as long as she remembered, from the day she first met Silver, Silver had always been helping sinners even if it was to help himself.

Charlie always believed a sinner like Silver could be redeemed. Even if Silver always looks out for himself, he always makes sure to not harm others unless necessary. The Silver she knew was someone who needed only himself and not others.

Perhaps it was because of that he could not be redeemed. Perhaps if he let others in, he could be redeemed. Since he was Charlie's friend, then she would save him no matter what.

"Silver, I'm your friend correct?"

Silver shrugged his shoulder.

"If that's how you see it."

Silver's answer was good enough for Charlie.

"As your friend, I wish to help you. So, could you let me help you?"

Tanya was about to immediately answer no. However, she saw fire in Charlie's eyes. If she answered no, then their relationship would be damaged. A small answer should suffice.

"Charlie, the problem I am currently facing is something not even your father would be able to handle. Whether or not I'll be able to handle it will be up to me alone."

Silence hung in the sir. Charlie clenched her fist. She wanted to help Silver. But from Silver's words, it was not a problem she could even hope to glimpse.

Charlie became frustrated with herself, why couldn't she help her friends? She became frustrated with Silver, why wouldn't he open up? Before Tanya, Charlie slowly morphed into her full demon form.

Tanya calmly sipped her tea. Charlie quickly became normal again. She watched as Silver seemed unbothered by what happened. Charlie didn't know why, but she really wanted to break that unbreakable facade of Silver today.

"Silver, what would it take for you to share your problem or situation with me?"

Tanya answered honestly.

"It would require trust that transcends beyond a lifetime. Something I would never form with anyone. The trust I have in myself is enough.

Tanya stood up from the couch.

"I believe our conversation is over."

It was just like any other day. Charlie would try to change Silver but failed like always. Life would continue to go on. But today, Charlie was tired of Silver's shit. She was tired of taking no for an answer.

"I, Charlie Morningstar, give my soul to Silver."

Lute's eyes widened with shock. Charlie's eyes were filled with determination. Tanya blinked and then laughed.

"You do know I always make deals but never take deals right? Without my real name, you won't be forcing anything on me."

Silence hung in the air as nothing happened. Charlie blushed and became embarrassed. Lute recovered from her shock.

Time froze around Charlie, everything stopped. Charlie looked up and realized everything was frozen. It was a surreal sight. A voice spoke to her.

"Would you like to know their real name?"

"Who are you?"

"Someone Silver knows."

"Are you his friend?"

"No."

They seemed honest at least.

"Who are you?"

"I am what you perceive. Again, do you wish to know their real name?"

Charlie wanted to say yes but then thought about it.

"No."

Charlie decided she would obtain Silver's real name fair and square.

"I see... Whether or not you can change that which does not change will remain to be seen."

Time resumed, everything that had happened was still fresh on Charlie's mind. There was a big secret to Silver. She would find out and help him.

"I, Charlie Morningstar..."

Tanya turned to Charlie.

"I told you that's not gonna work right?"

"Challenge you for your soul with my soul on the line."

Silence hung in the air.

"I refuse."

"Arghhh!"

Charlie grabbed her hair in frustration.

"You're so frustrating Silver! Let me help you dammit!"

"No."

AN: I actually thought Charlie could outplay Tanya. Can't believe I doubted the GOAT.
