Sakura POV
I saw the human wake up and open his eyes and then he stared at me, I did the same.
'He's definitely human but something seems off.'
There was an awkward silence as we looked at each other. I tried to think of a way to break the ice but then the human spoke first.
Evan POV
I saw a girl who seemed very relieved and excited with my arrival here and I thought to myself.
'So she was the one who prayed and pleaded for my arrival. Plus it seems that I may be somewhere across the world but hey at least that's better than being scolded by the others for an hour or two for being too reckless.'
Both the girl and I had an awkward situation with neither one of us speaking. So, I spoke first.
"Sooo uhhh...who are you?"
My question seems to snap her out of her silence.
"Oh I am Sakura. Sakura Shakuntala Adoniera." Answered Sakura.
"I'm Ev-"
Before I could finish replying, Sakura then interrupted me.
"Oh visitor, please lend me your strength!"
"Huh?"
Then she looks down and sees my sword along with my equipment and hastily says.
"I can see that you're a knight armed with a flawless blade. Please, I beg of you!"
"Huh?! Whoa, calm down there and at least tell me where I am and what do you mean that you need my help?" I said while gesturing my hands to her to slow down.
Sakura realizing what she did put both of her hands by both her checks with a flush face in embarrassment.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt or go on so fast…."
Suddenly we both heard a yell of a man with pointy ears and in a soldier uniform holding a sword and a pistol it seems.
"Sakura!"
He then stopped to see me, who was next to Sakura and was surprised.
"A human!? You did it! And that weapon! Is he a knight!?" He asked. "At least tell me what's happening right now?" I ask.
"Now is not the time, we should-" Before the man could speak any more, a loud sound came.
*BAM!*
A gunshot was heard and all of us turned to see what seems to be bulky ogres with great weapons in their hands and some more men similar to this man in body features but are brown in skin holding what seems to be rifles aiming at us. The man with us turns around and points his pistol towards them and fires back as retaliation. Then an ogre rushes in and attacks me with his great axe yelling.
"You! Are you the visitor!?"
As he swung the axe sideways to decapitate me, but I ducked down quickly avoiding the swing and I leg sweep the ogre making fall backward. Then I took my sword out of its sheath and cut a bullet in half that was aiming towards my head. The one who shot at me was amazed but then was slashed and killed by the man. Then the ogre behind me stood up and knocked me down while I had my guard down, and before bringing down his axe upon me, the ogre was shot in the head by the man saving me. As the ogre fell backward dead I came up to him to give my thanks.
"Thanks for that sir uhhhh…."
"You can call me Major Grey Enfield. But you can call me Grey if you like. And I'm sure you have a lot of questions right now but we have to hurry."
All I did was nod.
~ Middle of a City ~
As the group and I traveled through the city I looked around to see many kinds of people. Although it doesn't surprise me as much as it would to a normal person, but I am amazed by how many kinds of races are living in this city. As I look up at the sky to see two moons in the sky, all I could say to myself is that.
'Yep that confirms it, I'm in another world.'
As the group continue to walk, Sakura trips on some rubble on the street.
"Ah!"
I stretch out my arm to catch her, but she instinctively knocks my hands from her yelling.
"Don't touch me!"
I saw her eyes filled with fear as if she had experienced something that she doesn't want to experience again. Sakura quickly apologizes to me, becoming red from embarrassment and guilt after realizing what she did.
"I'm sorry! I... I didn't mean it like that... um... I…"
I looked at my hand and then back at her, but I smiled kindly and nodded in understanding back at her, reassuring her to not worry about it. Knowing that I shouldn't pry into her past or what she is going through right now. Sakura noticing what I was conveying calms down a bit although a bit embarrassed still. Grey seems to notice something wrong and ask.
"Something wrong?"
"No, nothing's wrong." I replied.
~ Small Time Skip ~
The three of us stopped near a fountain and waited for Sakura to take a drink from water from the fountain. As I stare up to the two moons in the dark sky wondering how is everyone doing right now with his disappearance. Especially Tilith and Lin... they would do almost anything to find out what happened to me. I sighed and looked back at Sakura. Then Grey walked by and told me more about Sakura.
"That girl... is a princess of Adarl. But her country was attacked... and she maybe the only survivor now." Grey said that with sadness and understanding of what Sakura is going through.
Then Grey started explaining why I was here.
"So we were searching for a human to help us... well you see humans are incredibly rare in this world, you see... so we had to call one here."
'And with that here I am.' I said internally.
"Hey Sakura, you still need the human to use your power, right?" Grey asks Sakura.
Sakura then blushes heavily for some reason.
"Yeah, but now is not the time. Although he appears to be capable, but he doesn't seem to be much though right now… perhaps until he gets better maybe he will after being trained by you…"
'Ouch, that hurts you know.' I said internally
I sighed and began to sulk a bit from remembering Seria and Owen scolding me harshly. I don't want to remember much of it as it was literally hell to train with them, especially Owen. However, without me realizing, the others think that I began to sulk after Sakura's remark.
"Don't take it to heart, Evan. I'm sure she didn't mean that at all." Grey reassuring me while patting my back.
I don't seem to notice his words as I sulk about the memories of me training with Seria and Owen. Then I snapped out of my dazed thoughts and apologized to them.
"Oh... I'm sorry I-"
I was interrupted by Sakura who felt a bit guilty at what she said and I ended up not fixing this misunderstanding.
"Please don't apologize! You didn't do anything wrong! I'm the one who should be sorry!"
Sakura bows down apologizing to me.
'Ummm, what would the others do to clear this misunderstanding right now…' I thought to myself.
Then footsteps were heard and all three of us turned to the source to see a man wearing a cloak with markings on his left upper face. Along with him is a band of ogres with him.
"Do you really think this would be enough to escape me?" He said.
"That tattoo... you're from Hasas!" Grey exclaimed.
Sakura looked surprised.
'Hasas?' I thought to myself.
"So the princess of Adarl who slipped through our fingers... so you possess the ambrosia."
"So what if she does?" Grey said.
The stranger smirks a bit before saying
"Oh, you'll find out... get them ogres."
A group of five ogres charges forward and surrounds Gray, ready to attack him. Gray unsheathe his blade. I drew my sword and took my stance as 3 ogres surrounded me.
"Brother! Evan!" Cried Sakura. "Forget them." Said the Stranger.
The stranger slowly walks towards her. While as Grey and I fought the ogres.
Third POV
"You should be more worried about yourself right now." Said the Stranger
Sakura flinches as he points his kukri at her.
"Swear to me that you will offer the power of the ambrosia to Hasas, and you'll be allowed to live." The Stranger demanded.
Sakura seems to be angered by the offer.
"Never!" She yelled.
Her yell attracted Evan's attention as he knocked out the final ogre with a pommel strike from his sword to the ogre's head.
"I swore on the body of my dead parents that I would restore our country... to use the ambrosia to take back my land and people! I will not let it become your tool!" Yelled Sakura as she stood defiantly against the stranger. "I would rather die where I stand now!" She finishes.
The stranger seems to be unfazed and raises his blade, Evan notices it dashed towards Sakura as fast as possible.
"Then so be it. Die…" Said the Stranger.
The stranger thrust his blade towards Sakura's chest where the heart is at. Sakura closes her eyes as tears seem to fall out and Gray gritted his teeth and flinches as the blade gets closer to Sakura when he turns his head back towards the two.
*Ting*
"...!"
Then blood splatter into the air with a few blood drops hitting Sakura on her face.
Sakura POV
I closed my eyes and was prepared to die. But nothing came, no pain. I slowly opened my eyes only to see the hu- no Evan standing in front of me with the man's blade stuck in his left side of his chest barely missing his heart as Evan's sword was there to guide the man's kukri from hitting one of his vitals. Evan spilled out blood from his mouth but was still standing up holding his sword.
"Hmph, fool." Said the Stranger.
Then Evan counterattacks by swinging his sword upward but the stranger pulls his kukri out of Evan's chest and dodges backward to avoid Evan's attack. Then he dodges Gray's attack who attacks the man from the side. Evan then drops to the ground on his knee coughing out blood and holding his chest to stop the blood flow as much as possible. I rush to his side and lay him down on my lap hoping to think of a way to stop his bleeding. Then I began to tear up and said.
"wh...why...?"
Evan looks at me while smiling, his eyes and gestures seem to tell me not to worry although it doesn't help at all. I began to rant and vent my frustration on myself for being useless.
"You idiot...I said such horrible things about you and yet you still smile...I... always mess up when it really matters…"
All Evan did was smile at me and his eyes seem to tell me that he understands what I am going through. However, that does not rid me of all of my worries and frustration. Then Evan coughs a lot of blood out, surprising me and worrying me more that Evan is dying in my lap right now and losing his consciousness. I try to think of a way to keep him awake but can't, with that I lose more faith in myself and start to cry more. All suddenly my senses and thoughts disappear.
Evan POV
I coughed out a lot of blood, knowing that I should reach for a potion to heal my wound but Sakura seems to need some counseling and comfort right now. Although I may be bleeding out, I'm sure I'll make it. However if it's an emergency I'll just summon someone to heal my wounds or change form. As I slowly lose more blood and my consciousness starts to waver, I see Grey finishing the last of the ogres and pushing back the man. However we knew reinforcements were coming. Seeing that I began to lose consciousness, Sakura seemed to notice, panicked and began to cry more. As I reached for my bag, I thought to myself.
'If Tilith were to see this happening, she would for sure scold me.'
Then I heard someone speak.
"And who gave thee permission to die?"
A sudden pain woke me from my fading consciousness.
"Grrr…" I gritted my teeth while groaning from that pain.
All I saw was two fingers inserted deep into my wound.
'Well that's one way to keep someone from passing out.' I said internally.
I look up to see "Sakura" but this time "Sakura" seems to have pink hair with red horns different from the violet red hair with black horn. Her amber red eyes seem to become sharper from the more gentle one from earlier. What was most surprising was that her entire physique had changed.
"Would it not be more fitting to devote thy life to me until it ends?"
"Sakura...?" I said with confusion.
"Sakura should have more faith in herself." Said "Sakura"
As this "Sakura" lifts her fingers lick my blood off from her finger, creeping me out a bit.
"That the man that she called forth from a far-off world would indeed be capable of fulfilling her desire if not even more…"
'Me?' I asked internally.
As if she read my mind she responded.
"Indeed. Now, answer me this."
She then began to strip off her chest region, revealing her full glory to my eyes.
"Are thou prepared to accept into thyself the divinity within my breast, and its curse?" "Sakura" asks.
I slowly raise up despite the pain and look at "Sakura" with a deadpan face saying you are serious.
"What is thy answer?" She asks.
'Even if I did say yes, I'm pretty sure not only Tilith will kill me but the others will also kill me for doing that.' I said internally.
I lift both of my arms and let my hand rest on her cloak and cover her up.
"Hmm…?"
"Sakura" just stared at me a bit surprised at my action. Then I slowly stood up despite the pain from my grievous wound. I reached for my bag that hangs from the right side of my hip and I took out a small emerald green glass potion and opened it and drank the potion.
"Sakura" POV
I sat there just staring at this weird man that Sakura summoned. Not only did he seem to decline the offer I made to him, he also covered me with my cloak as if he was a gentleman. I smirk slightly, amused at his actions. He then rose up despite his injuries.
'Sakura, not only you summoned someone weird yet someone with limitless potential.' She thought to herself.
Then I see him reach for his small bag and pull out a beautiful emerald colored glass potion. He opens it and drinks it till there is none left. The potion was then put away and I saw this human body start to glow and his chest wound sealing up. What's left of his wound was dry blood on his chest armor. I am simply amazed at not how he healed his wound but how he has something that belongs to the age of gods ages ago.
Evan POV
As my wound closes up, I look up to see the enemy reinforcement and I yell to Grey.
"Grey, I got the enemy reinforcements and you deal with that man!"
Grey looks back surprised to see me all fine and dandy but then replies back with a nod. As I look at the enemy reinforcements and unsheathe my sword. I guess I'll use some of my power for this fight.
'Time to get a bit serious.' I said to myself.
My body starts to glow and my outfit remains the same but with a few changes.
Third POV
"Sakura" gazes at Evan as his body starts to glow. When the glow faded, his hair was now red with amber eyes, and his armor remained the same but with a few changes to its coloring. The man who Grey was keeping at bay did not seem impressed at Evan's transformation. Evan then charges in towards the enemy reinforcement weaving, dodging gun fire along with deflecting any shots. Then Evan's blade starts glowing red. Causing Grey and the stranger to stop fighting as they stare at what is happening.
'Grand Slav!'
Evan's sword ignited with fire along the blade and as he slash the flame became an arc of fire slashing through his enemies in front of him knocking out multiple enemies. Grey was amazed at Evan's power. As for the stranger and "Sakura" they both remain quiet. Taking this opportunity the stranger retreats from Grey to observe the human. Grey, noticing that his opponent backed off, also slowly pulls back to "Sakura".
"Amazing…" Said Grey.
"..."
Despite their comrades being defeated in front of them, the enemies continue to fight, with two ogres aiming their guns at Evan and firing. Evan slashes at the bullets letting the flame from his sword forming another flaming arc. The flaming arc melts the bullets and Evan runs up to the ogres. The closest ogre, Evan jumps and knees in the face knocking him out. The second took a swing at Evan with his gun, Evan ducks the swing and with his sword slashes one of the ogre's legs causing him to kneel in pain. And with a hard punch to the ogre's face, the ogre fell.
"How naive of you human, not killing your enemies. But a troublesome one you are though.' Thought the Stranger as he observed Evan.
'He shall make a fine servant despite his compassion….I wonder how much stronger he would get if he were to accept the Dharani…' Thought "Sakura"
Then Grey approaches "Sakura", sheathing his sword and asking.
"Is that you Sakura?"
"You can call me Shakuntala. I am one with Sakura and yet another." She answered while observing Evan's fight.
Evan dodges more gunshots and uses another Grand Slave bringing down more ogres. Then a dark elf commander yelled out.
"Stand your ground! We are the soldiers of Dalla! We have the newest, strongest weapons in the world!"
Then a massive weapon arrived with many barrels in a circular formation.
"The Dharani, Gods, Divinity, are nothing more than relics of a forgotten age!"
Grey is shocked to see a massive weapon ready to be used upon Evan.
"A gatling gun!?"
Evan turns his head to see the massive weapon spinning up and fires upon him.
"This can fire forty rounds in barely ten seconds! Let's see how long you can last against our cutting edge-science!" Yelled the Commander.
As the gatling gun fires upon Evan, he quickly dodges the first few bullets and his blade starts to glow a bright red as flame envelopes his sword and half of his arm. Then Evan strikes his sword down to the ground creating a huge arc of flame going towards the gatling gun. The flame of Evan's attack melts through all the bullets fired from the gun and cuts through the gatling gun in half along with the ground it was on. Then a group of ogres roar out and surround him and charge toward Evan. Evan stood there with two hands on his sword waiting for them to get close enough.
"What's he doing?" Asked Grey as he unsheathed his sword ready to intervene while Shakuntala remained silent.
As Grey was about to charge in to help Evan. Evan then swung his sword but mid swing the sword transformed into a massive hammer surprising everyone and the massive hammer hits every ogre around Evan sending them flying. The dark elf commander snapped out of his awe first and ordered his remaining soldiers.
"Kill him!"
The remaining ogres behind the commander snaps out of their daze and charges Evan. Evan charges back in return, swinging his hammer sending every ogre that tried to obstruct him flying.
"Well at least he's not holding back anymore…." Said Grey. "It would certainly seem so. Although I can tell that he is still holding back by a huge margin." Replied Shakuntala.
Grey then looks at her in shock at her words and then back at Evan's one sided fight.
With most if not all of their forces eliminated, the dark elf commander fell on his bottom with fear embedded into his eyes.
"H-how…" He muttered fearfully.
Transforming his weapon back a sword, Evan then turned to the commander and slowly walked towards him thinking what to do with him.
'What to do with him...if it was Owen who decides this guy's fate, Owen would outright kill him or maimed him, either way I'll teach this guy a lesson that he'll never forget.'
As Evan walks toward the commander, a shadow appears behind him and Evan blocks that strike with his sword.
*Clang!*
Then both Evan and the stranger fought. They both exchanged flurries of blows against each other's blade. After that quick exchange of blows, the stranger strikes back hard pushing Evan back a few steps.
"Hmph...even if you are skilled with a blade and magic, my orichalcum blade, a relic from the age of divinity, is more than a match for you." Declared the Stranger.
'If you want to compare blades then I'll give you the pleasure.' Evan said internally.
Evan sheaths his sword confusing the other but the stranger remains silent at his action. Evan then takes something from his bag that looks like a red sphere with a fire icon on it. Then Evan raises it up and a bright light shines from the sphere, causing everyone to cover their eyes. As the light dims and everyone opens their eyes to see a sword on fire. This sword brought awe to everyone present to see it. The sword has a dominating aura with a magnificent look with golden markings embedded on the blade with a chain along the handle of the sword.
'That sword...don't tell me...it's alive!?' Shakuntala said internally with shock.
The stranger watches on with silence with a stoic face.
"Up for round two?" Asked Evan.
The stranger took his stance and Evan did the same but this time he took a different stance. The sword in Evan's hand starts to glow as if it wants to show everyone something and what they saw is something that they never expected. They saw a man with molten lava like hair wearing black and gold knight like armor along with his torn up red cape while wielding the same sword Evan is with the same stance. However what was most surprising about that man was that he had wings of fire on his back. As if the man they saw were an illusion was covered up by the same person who took his stance...Evan.
'Let's do this Dandelga!' Evan yelled internally.
As if Dandelga heard his call, the sword ignited with fire swirling around the blade ready for a fight. The stranger dashes in but Evan just cast one ability imitating the previous wielder of Dandelga.
'Flare Ride Climax!'
Evan swung his blade upward and a wave of fire came from the ground. Then he smashes his blade down onto the ground causing another wave of flame towards the stranger pushing him back as he tries to both block and dodge the flames.
"Grrr…"
Seeing the stranger being pushed back, the commander fearfully yells out.
"Fall Back!"
The stranger looks between Evan and the commander and clicks his tongue.
"Tch...we'll settle this another time, visitor from another world."
'Or you can just forget about it, I'm fine with that.' Evan said internally.
As the stranger pulled back he said.
"The ambrosia and Dharani belong to Hasas...I will take them along with that sword of your visitor…"
'You can try although I doubt Dandelga would let you just take him or even wield him…' Evan said internally.
Evan POV
As they disappeared from our sight, my body glowed and I changed back to my normal outfit. Shankuntala and Grey looked at me for answers and all I said was.
"I had this power with me for a long time and no I'm not going to talk anything about it here."
They both look at each other then nod.
"Anyway, I'm tired, I'm going to sleep." I said.
'To think Dandelga drained me to this point…' I thought to myself. 'But it is expected…'
I collapsed.
"Hey!" Grey yelled in concern.
This was all I heard before I lost consciousness and all went black.
Author's Note
This chapter was is actually much shorter but I end up combining two chapters into one to make it make sense and for quality.
Anyway I hope you have a nice day or a good night.
