A gentle hand woke Ava up out of her deep sleep.
She recognized the soft and loving touch. She knew those hands well.
Her eyes fluttered open and she smiled weakly at the sight of her mother.
"Mama." She croaked. The bright lights in the room hurt her eyes, but she refused to close them incase her mother disappeared or vanished into thin air.
"Hi, Babygirl.' Karen continued to stroke her hair. "How are you feeling?"
"Okay." Ava answered, looking around the room, putting together that she was in a hospital. That explained the annoying beeping she heard. "My head hurts."
"You hit your head. You have a concussion." Karen explained, kissing her forehead. "Better?"
When she found out that her kids had been in a car accident and were now in the hospital, her heart almost stopped. This wasn't what she wanted to come home to at all.
"Yeah." Ava decided not to nod for fear of aggravating her headache. "I missed you."
"I missed you, too, baby." Karen smiled. "I'm here now. Everything's gonna be okay."
Ava's nose twitched and she lifted her hand to scratch it, only to be surprised by the light blue cast around her arm when it hit her in the face.
"Careful! You broke your arm." Karen laughed lightly, pushing her arm down. "You'll be wearing that cast for next several weeks. That means no strenuous activities and lots of bed rest."
And for her, it meant figuring out how to get Ava to sit still.
"Are Lucas and Uncle Keith okay?" Ava asked softly.
"Your Uncle Keith is fine. He just has a few scratches, nothing to worry about." Karen told her, standing up. "Get some rest, I'll be nearby."
Now that Ava was awake and coherent, she wanted a doctor to come and look at her before she went to see Lucas. Having two children in the hospital wasn't easy and it was difficult to split time between them without feeling intensely guilty.
"You didn't tell me about Luke, Mama."
"I didn't, did I?" Karen sat back down on the bed. "You know, I used to be able to distract you and change the subject. It's not working so much anymore."
"Mama."
"Your brother had to have surgery, he hasn't woken up yet…..but he's gonna be okay. I promise."
"Hey, Trouble." Haley smiled, carefully sitting down on Ava's hospital bed once she entered the room. "I hear they're springing you today."
Ava had only been in the hospital for a couple of days after she had woken up, but it felt like a lifetime. It was hard to sleep in a bed that wasn't her own, in a place that wasn't home.
Luckily, the hospital staff allowed Karen to stay with her overnight, which made her comfortable enough to sleep.
"Yeah….I'm bored. Did you bring me any candy?"
"Don't tell your mother." Haley handed her a pack of sour gummy worms.
The first time she visited Ava, she nearly burst into tears. It wasn't easy to look at such a vibrant little girl hooked up to monitors and an IV. She almost turned back around to go home until Ava made a funny crack about wanting gummy worms.
"Thank you!" Ava smiled widely. "Can you open it?"
"Did you eat yet?"
"No…"
"Then no gummies for you."
Lucky for Ava, Karen came into the room with a bag of food from the cafe.
"Deb dropped this off for you." She told her, taking the food out of the bag. "It's about time you had something other than hospital food. She brought your favorites, chicken tenders with macaroni and cheese, but don't get used to it. When you get home, you're gonna get all the nutrition your body needs."
Ava grinned and allowed her mother to place the food in her lap before digging in. "Want some?" She asked Haley, holding out a spoonful of pasta.
"Gimme a bite." Haley opened her mouth and let the child feed it to her. "That's good stuff."
"Where did this come from?" The pack of gummy worms caught Karen's eye.
"Haley gave 'em to me!"
"Hey! That was supposed to be our little secret!" Haley's jaw dropped. "That's the last time I"ll ever bring you any candy. Next time you'll get carrots and brussel sprouts."
"Ew!"
"It's good to see you up and happy." Ava's doctor walked in with a clipboard. "All your vitals are okay and you'll be wearing that cast on your arm for the next six weeks. You're free to go." She smiled. "But you'll need to take it easy for the next week or so."
"That means no basketball." Karen playfully wagged a finger at the child, taking the clipboard from the doctor and signing off.
"You can leave as soon as she's finished eating."
"And then can I have my gummy worms?"
"Yes." Karen playfully rolled her eyes. "Then you can have your gummy worms"
If there was one thing that Havana-Rose Scott was sure of, it was that she hated hospitals.
She hated the lights, she hated the sound of the beeping monitors, she hated the smell, and she hated the squeaking of the stretcher wheels.
But there was something she hated even more than all of that put together.
She hated seeing her brother lying in bed like this.
Not moving. Still. Asleep.
She was so used to seeing her brother so full of energy. So full of light and smiles.
Now he was just…..there.
She didn't like it.
It scared her.
It scared her, because she didn't want to lose him. She couldn't lose him.
He was her big brother, her protector, the one who always made sure that everything would be okay. The one that made her feel like she was the most special person in the world.
But now he couldn't do that.
And that made her feel lost.
And very, very afraid.
She didn't care about that stupid little fight they had before. All she wanted was for him to wake up.
"Hey."
Ava was snapped out of her thoughts when Nathan tapped her on the shoulder. "Why are you here?"
She may have been living a pretty sheltered life thanks to the overprotection of the people around her, but even she was well aware that her brothers didn't get along.
"I came to see you and Luke." He kept his voice low so he wouldn't wake Karen, who was sleeping in a chair by the door. "I wanted to talk to Luke. I need to tell him something. Even if he can't hear me, I need to get it off my chest."
Ava scrutinized him for a moment before relaxing her features. "Will you sign my cast? Mama signed it and she tried to draw Lady, but it doesn't look like her."
"I'll sign it first thing tomorrow morning. I promise."
"Okay." Ava smiled and stood up, allowing him to sit in the seat she had just occupied.
She walked over to her mother and expertly managed to crawl onto her lap without waking her up.
All Karen did was wrap her arms around her so that she was comfortable.
"Hey, man." Nathan took a deep breath. "I kind of need to talk to you. So, I'm here because everything's screwed up. I know you don't trust me with Haley, but I like her a lot, you know? She's hurting right now, too. She needs you to open your eyes, man. She feels like she can't be forgiven. And I'm sort of in the same place." He placed a hand on the bed. "This accident, might not turn out so bad, you know? You get to take a break from the game. The pressure and people's expectations. I wish I had that chance. This might be hard to believe, but maybe you're the lucky one. You can get out."
As soon as the words left Nathan's lips, Lucas lifted his fingers and reached out to touch his hand.
"Hey." Nathan was shocked to say the least.
With everyone that had come to visit him, Lucas woke up for Nathan.
"Water." Lucas managed to say with his dry throat. He watched as Nathan tried to hand him a cup and gave him a look, prompting his younger brother to bring the cup to his lips. "What are you doing here?"
"It's a long story. Let me get your mom." Nathan stood up and walked over to Karen, gently shaking her shoulder.
"Nathan?" Karen furrowed her eyebrows, blinking the sleep from her eyes.
"I think Lucas wants to talk to you." He told her, placing a hand on Ava's head before leaving the three alone.
"Luke's awake!" Ava, who had briefly fallen asleep, gasped and shot up.
"Hey, ssh, ssh." Karen put a finger to her lips. "It's late, honey. And Luke is probably still tired."
Ava nodded and stood by his bed, looking at him.
She was beyond happy that he was awake, but then she remembered the fight that they had right before the accident and pouted.
Maybe he was still mad at her and he didn't want her around even though she wasn't upset about it anymore.
She didn't think she was still mad at him, but maybe he—
"Hey, Trouble." He smiled, interrupting her intrusive thoughts. "You okay?"
"Yeah, I got a cast, see?" She lifted her arms to show him, but she moved too fast. "Ow."
"That's way cool." Lucas humored her. "I can't wait to sign it."
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm okay." He winked before looking at his mother. "Don't take my sunshine away." He sang the song she had sung to him while he was still unconscious.
"You heard that?"
"I'm glad you're back, Mom."
"Well, if it isn't Baby Scott." Brooke smiled as the child entered Luke's hospital room and sat down on his bed that morning. "How're you doing, kiddo?"
Karen had a couple of things to take care of, but she did allow Ava to stay at the hospital so she could be with her brother.
"I'm fine." Ava answered, showing the teen the cast she was so enamored with. "I broke my arm and the doctors gave me a cast, see?"
"Can I sign it?" The brunette asked.
"Yeah!" Ava nodded excitedly as Brooke picked up a marker and began to write.
"How's that?"
"Cool." Ava read what the teen had written and giggled.
"What did you write on my sister's cast, Brooke?" Lucas smirked.
"Don't worry, it isn't anything weird." Brooke winked.
It wasn't.
It was really nice, actually.
She wrote, Shine on, Baby Scott.
"You didn't sign my cast, Bubba." Ava pouted.
Brooke gushed at the cute nickname and Lucas fought not to roll his eyes.
He had told that kid millions of times, not to call him that in public.
"Hand me the marker." He growled.
Brooke handed it off to him and he scribbled something on Ava's cast that made her jaw drop.
"I'm gonna tell Mama on you!"
"Go ahead. I bet she'll think it's hilarious."
"You're so mean!"
"You guys are adorable." Brooke laughed. "I wish I had a little sister."
"Then by all mean, you can have her." Lucas caught Ava's good arm as she swung at him. "I'll pay you to take her."
The two stopped rough housing when Nathan cleared his throat.
He had brought Haley.
She hadn't come to see him the entire time he had been in the hospital, but she was here now.
Tears sprang to her eyes and her lip quivered as she made her way over and sat down on his bed.
Their argument didn't even matter anymore.
She was just glad that he was okay.
But what if he was mad at her—
"Hey, buddy." Lucas smiled gently. "I missed you."
"We came to visit you at the hospital, but you were asleep." Maddie told Ava as she, Carter, and Sam climbed onto the girl's bed. "Nice cast."
"Way cool." Sam agreed, picking up a marker on the night stand and signing her name, passing it to Maddie so she could do the same. "Are you in any pain?"
"Not much." Ava shook her head slowly. "Sometimes my head hurts a little and my arm hurts when when I move it too fast, but I'm okay….."
"Yeah, your mom told us you were supposed to be resting for a while." Maddie smirked, knowing full well that Ava was not one to sit still. "Did you drive her crazy yet?"
"Almost." Ava giggled. "I tried climbing the counter to get the candy at the top of the fridge and she caught me."
"Did she flip out?" Sam asked.
"I'm surprised Maddie didn't hear her from two doors down." Ava smiled. "She was loud. And she said if she caught me out of bed again, she'd add a whole week for me to be here."
"I wish I could've seen that." Maddie chortled. "You're always in some kind of trouble."
"I am not!"
"You are." Sam agreed. "But that's what we like about you."
"Alright, girls." Karen poked her head through the door. "Visiting hours are over. You can come by tomorrow if you'd like, but Ava needs to rest."
"Okay, see you, Ava." Maddie fist-bumped her.
"Try to give your mom a break." Sam smirked.
"Yeah, stay in bed." Carter teased her.
"Whatever." Ava pouted as they left. "Just don't do anything really fun without me."
"Listen, your brother escaped his cell, I'm gonna go out and look for him. Will you be alright here?"
"Uh huh."
"Can I trust you to stay inside this house?"
"Yes, Mama."
"Okay." Karen leaned in and kissed her forehead. "I'll be back."
"Bye, Mama." Ava listened and waited to hear the front door close before grinning to herself and crawling out of bed.
She had never gotten that candy she was looking for, so now was as good a time as any to finally get it.
No interference.
The nine year old walked straight into the kitchen and pushed a chair against the counter so she could crawl on top of it.
"Havana-Rose Scott, you get down from there, right now!" Haley's voice made her jump about ten feet in the air.
"Haley!" She gasped, nearly falling off the chair.
Luckily, Haley had been close enough to catch her when she decided to sneak up on her.
"What do you think you're doing?" The teen asked after setting her down safely on the ground.
"What are you doing here?" Ava asked, crossing her arms as best as she could, to mirror Haley.
"Your mom asked Peyton and I to stay here while she looked for Luke, because she knew you'd be doing something you weren't supposed to be doing. Don't dodge my question."
"I wanted candy." Ava looked up at her from under her eyelashes to make herself seem cuter. "I was gonna go back to my room, I promise."
"She's good." Peyton smirked.
"Not good enough." Haley narrowed her eyes at Ava. "Get back in bed. Now." She propelled her forward with a swat to her behind that made her screech.
"Ow! You're so mean!"
Peyton burst into laughter at the girl's dramatics and threw an arm around her shoulder. "Come on, I'll draw something on your cast for you."
"Can you draw Haley being mad?" Ava asked as she got back into bed. "Cause I think it's funny when her face gets all red and her eyebrows scrunch together. I don't think Nathan would kiss her if he knew she looked like Miss Piggy."
"Havana-Rose!"
"I can definitely do that." Peyton smiled. "Hand me that pen."
"Peyton Sawyer!"
"You're not supposed to be out of bed." Lucas looked at his sister.
"I'm bored."
"Read a book."
"I did that already. Can I watch tv?"
"Fine." Lucas relented. "But if Mom catches you, you're on your own."
"Okay." Ava picked up the remote and turned on some cartoons, sitting down on the couch next to him. "Sorry I said I hated you before. I don't."
"I know." Lucas put his good arm around her and squeezed her shoulder. "I'm sorry I hurt your feelings. I was upset about something and I took it out on you. That wasn't very nice of me. We cool?"
"Yeah."
"Good." He smiled and kissed her forehead as the front door opened.
"Hey." Jake waved, putting a bag on the coffee table in front of them.
"Hi." Ava waved.
"What's that?" Lucas asked.
"This is a Playstation 2." Jake took it out of the bag. "From the team. Even Nathan kicked in. We got you NBA Shoot Out and NCAA Final 4. Keep you in the game 'till you get back." He reached into the bag and pulled out a coloring book and a few VHS tapes. "And these are for you." He handed them to Ava. "We found out which ones you had from Haley. That's from the team, too…..and Jenny."
"Thank you!" Ava's smile widened as she looked at the items.
"Go put one in." Lucas told her, watching her do so. "Thanks, a lot, man. I appreciate it. It's just, the doctor says I might not be back."
"Well, don't listen to him." Jake said simply. "I mean, ultimately, that's up to you, right?"
"I guess so." Lucas turned to see that his sister had put on Lady and the Tramp.
She had the tape already, but she had played it so much, it was on its way out.
"Don't sit so close to the tv." Her brother told her. "Come here." He patted the couch.
"That's not good for your eyes, Princess." Jake added.
Ava did as she was told and sat back down on the couch, clutching her stuffed Lady as she watched the movie play.
"Wow, she's really into that, huh?" Jake chuckled.
"Since infancy, and I blame Haley. She was the one playing all those movies back when she was a baby. This is the one that she loved the most."
"Hey, so I had a— I had a question for you. Do you know if your mom's hiring at the cafe? Because I have to get a part time job and I was thinking maybe..…"
"You want me to talk to her?"
"You know if you wanted to put in a good word for me, that's cool." Jake smiled as Keith entered the house. "You're popular today, huh?"
"Hi, Uncle Keith." Ava looked away from the tv and waved, before zoning back in.
"It's good to see you." Lucas hugged the man.
"You, too." Keith smiled. "Hey, Jake."
"Glad to see you're okay." Jake greeted. "Anyway, I gotta head out, so, hang in there, Luke."
"Tell the team thanks for me."
"Bye, Jake." Ava smiled. "Thank you."
"Anytime, Princess." Jake winked and walked out the door.
"So where've you been?" Lucas asked his uncle.
Ever since the accident happened, neither Lucas nor Ava had seen much of Keith.
He had a drink a few hours before the accident and once Karen found out, she told him to stay away.
Keith left some stuff for the kids, but that was about it.
"I was just waiting for a chance when your mom wouldn't be here." Keith explained. "So how're you doing?"
"Alive." Lucas chuckled. "You look pretty banged up."
"I got off easy, Luke, I, um, I want you both to know how sorry I am about what happened."
"I know that, Keith, come on."
"I shouldn't have had those beers." Keith ignored him. "I just freaked out about your mom coming home. I just kept thinking, what if Italy changed her? What if after having that experience, she doesn't want to settle for a guy with permanent grease stains?"
"It happened. Alright? I know you weren't drunk, so….."
"Yeah, I wish your mom believed that."
"She'll get over it. I'm working on her and between my constant nagging and Ava's puppy face, she'll crack soon…..So Dan actually saved us, huh?"
"Yeah." Keith nodded. "I have to say, most of the time he's a jerk, but that night, he was definitely a hero."
"I'm sure Ava believes that." Lucas rolled his eyes. That kid could see the good in anyone. "But where am I supposed to put that?"
"Just be grateful, I guess." Keith shrugged as Karen came back home. "Hey. I was just leaving. I'll see ya."
"Mom." Lucas tried to get her to see some reason as she lifted Ava onto her hip and glared at him.
"Get back in bed."
Their conversation would just have to wait for another day.
"I can't remember the last time the four us did this." Karen smiled as she, Haley, Lucas, and Ava sat in the cafe to have dinner together.
"Yes, it's just like old times." Haley smiled. "Minus one spleen." Apparently, her joked didn't land. "Oh, come on, it's a joke. Tragedy plus time…...Alright, too soon."
Lucas rolled his eyes and leaned over to reach for something, but stopped when a sharp pain shot through his injured arm.
"How are you doing with physical therapy."
"Physical therapy's a waste of time."
"Alright, let's try something else. How was school?"
"Well let's see…..Brooke hates me and Peyton won't talk to me."
"See? It is like old times." Haley teased.
"How about you, Ava?" Karen turned to her daughter. "How was your day?"
"Boring." Ava mumbled, pushing her food around with her fork.
Since she had broken her right arm, she had to do everything with her left hand.
And everything had become an exhausting chore.
Eating, writing, brushing, you name it.
"Cheer up, Trouble. You'll get the cast off soon, and then you can run around do whatever it is all the cool kids are doing these days."
Ava just shrugged and continued to struggle to eat.
"Oh, you know what else?" Lucas continued his rant. "I saw Dan. He told me the reason he pulled me out of the wreckage, was just so that he could watch me suffer."
"Lucas, I'm sure that's not true." Karen defended her ex.
"Mom, don't defend him."
"I'm not saying that Dan hasn't done some terrible things, but he did save your life."
"Whatever that's worth."
"That's stupid." Ava rolled her eyes.
"You're sister's right." Haley agreed. "Snap out of it already, come on."
"You know what?" Lucas snapped. "You're right. It's time. Time for a change." He shot up out of his chair.
"Where are you going?" Ava asked.
"Out!"
"Luke!"
He certainly had been moody lately.
And when it wasn't because of Brooke or Peyton, usually it was because of something Dan did or didn't do.
Ava wished that this family would just throw their pride away and solve their issues.
She was tired of all the problems, the drama, and the arguments.
"Well, I just don't want you to think I'm trailing you like some paranoid mother."
"But you are." Lucas joked as he and his mother took their bags out of the trunk of the car when they reached the school's parking lot.
Karen was asked to chaperone the Classic Tournament, so she was tagging along and, by extension, so was Ava. The woman didn't feel comfortable leaving her for the weekend after what happened.
Ava still had her cast on and some nights, she'd call for her mother, needing some comfort. Karen wanted to be as close as possible, knowing that it wouldn't be right to leave Ava behind.
"It's cool." Lucas smiled, his face faltering when Brooke walked right past him.
"Silent treatment." Karen commented.
While they were distracted, Ava grabbed her bag and wandered around, accidentally bumping into Brooke who was having an argument with Whitey about putting the cheerleading squad's gear on the bus.
"I don't care how important this tournament is, people trump pom-poms!" Whitey shouted. "We can't fit all that crap on the bus!"
"Fine! You be responsible for ten very ticked off cheerleaders!"
"Coach, if we're short on room, I can drive." Nathan offered.
"No, no, no. Forget it."
"Why not? I can fit all that crap in my trunk."
"Alright, but you stay right behind the bus."
"Thanks." Brooke sighed in relief and got on the bus.
"Sweet." Nathan smiled. "C'mon, Hales."
"Oh, uh, Lucas is saving me a seat."
The plan was for Haley and Lucas to spend more time together, but riding with Nathan sounded really appealing.
"What, are you in first grade? Come on, we'll ride in style." He turned to walk away. "Ava-Rose, you wanna ride with us?"
"Uh huh!" Ava nodded enthusiastically.
"C'mon, let's let your mom know."
"Well, we're safe." Karen smiled at Brooke as she entered her hotel room. "All the other girls have had chicken pox."
So far, things weren't going so well. One of the cheerleaders came down with the chicken pox and had to be sent home. That meant that Brooke's work was really going to be cut out for her. Ava didn't really understand the seriousness of the situation, but she knew that everyone was a lot more stressed out because of it.
"Theresa always was a beat behind."
"I never had chicken pox." Ava piped up, making Brooke smile and open her arms for her so she could sit on her lap.
She obviously knew what chicken pox was, she had seen it on an episode of Full House. She just never came down with the virus.
"Hopefully, you don't get it this time around." Karen said before addressing Brooke. "How are you doing?"
"Pretty crappy." Brooke fed a spoonful of her ice cream to Ava, who accepted it happily. "I put all my energy into this competition and it made me feel really good for a few days. Took my mind off everything, but now I'm just back to square one."
"You know, we haven't had a chance to talk since you and Lucas broke up. I'm really sorry." Karen opened up a conversation.
Ava had no clue what was going on in her brother's life because he didn't tell her anything and she didn't dare ask. One day Brooke just stopped coming by the house, so she figured that she and Lucas must have broken up.
"His loss, right?"
"Yeah." Ava opened her mouth for more ice cream.
"He probably knows that. And I know it doesn't seem like it, but I bet you and Peyton will get through this, too. And now, from a former Raven cheer captain to another, I think you have taken these girls too far to give up."
"Our routine is for ten girls, Karen. Without Teresa we're only nine, so unless I can pull a cheerleader out of thin air—"
"—Hey, Haley said she'd fill in for Teresa." Peyton and Haley walked in.
"I make no apologies for my lack of coordination. It's genetic."
"It's impossible." Brooke shot the idea down.
"Brooke, you're captain. We can still do this. You just need to get off your butt and stop pouting."
"We'd have to practice all night." Brooke looked at Karen. "And it's past curfew."
"If anyone asks, I was never here." Karen moved to the door, taking the ice cream with her.
Ava moved to get up and follow her mother, but Brooke tightened her arms around her waist.
"Karen, do you mind if we borrow Ava? I think I need to hang onto to my snuggle bunny a little longer."
"She's all yours." Karen smiled before leaving.
"Okay…..I'm gonna get the rest of the girls. We're gonna need coffee, black, sleep is our enemy. And we're gonna need to do something about that hair." Brooke stood up, hiking Ava up on her hip.
"5…..6…7…8!"
Ava watched the cheerleaders go over their routine, sitting in a chair quietly, taking everything in.
"No, no, no." Brooke stopped the music. "Tutor Girl, it's feet together, apart, then clap."
"Okay, I'm really trying." Haley insisted.
"Try harder cause we're on in twelve hours."
When she thought no one was looking, Ava took a sip of Peyton's coffee, grimacing at the taste. But it was the perfect pick-me-up. Ava was sure it was way past her bedtime and her eyes were starting to feel a little droopy.
"Aw, cute routine, girls." A girl she didn't know walked over with her friends. "Too bad those moves are so '03. Where'd you find you choreographer anyway? In the yellow pages? Under 'S' for 'Suck'?"
"No, actually, that's where I found your boyfriend."
"Oh, you know, if I were you, I'd get some beauty sleep. I think it's the only thing that's going to help."
"If I were you…" Peyton jumped in between her and Brooke. "….I'd step away from my friend."
"Whatever. Oh! And reminder, ladies, jazz fingers!"
"I'll give her a jazz finger….." Haley trailed, shocking both Brooke and Peyton enough to make them laugh.
"Well, she's obviously scared cause their routine probably sucks." Brooke shrugged.
"Actually, it's good." Mouth told them as he walked onto the stage. "I've seen it."
"How good?"
"Lots of spins. Some tumbles."
"Okay, no, give me information I can use, Mouth. What are the moves exactly?"
"First they do this….." Mouth tumbled around the stage replicating the other team's routine to the letter, shocking pretty much everyone else in the room.
"That's…..really good." Brooke recovered first. "Do you wanna replace Tutor Girl?"
"No, thanks." Mouth chortled. "Oh, and by the way, three other teams are using junior-senior."
"It's time for Plan B. We're gonna find Claire Young's room and pull a Tonya Harding. We're just gonna hit her in the knee with a big stick."
"Okay, Brooke. You're a better choreographer than Claire has ever been. We still have time to win it, just teach us some new moves."
"Well, what about our song?"
"You handle the moves. Let me take care of the song." Peyton swatted Brooke on her way past her before raising a brow at Ava. "Dude!"
Ava smiled sheepishly, having been caught drinking the teen's coffee. "I don't wanna be sleepy."
The amount of coffee that Ava consumed did nothing to keep her awake. She was just exhausted and after watching everyone practice for a few hours, her eyes grew droopy again. They got so heavy that she couldn't keep them open any longer.
Soon enough, she fell into a deep sleep.
A/N: Okay, so I just started writing a series of one-shots that take place during the missing four years. I'll start posting that once I'm done with this part of the series. Requests are open!
