April Showers Bring May Flowers-Ch 34
Penelope's pregnancy was passing by quickly and she was now almost 9 months and the family was all at casa Morgan today working on and hopefully finishing the baby nursery, the men were upstairs working while the women were in another part of the house enjoying her baby shower.
Derek and the others were working hard to get the nursery finished for Penelope because soon it would be time to welcome baby Morgan to the family and the closer that date was getting the happier they were getting.
Derek was working on the crib, Dave on the closet, Hotch on decorations for the wall and Reid was assembling the mobile and changing table, the women were laughing, talking and eating as they watched Penelope as she opened her gifts, she was getting everything that she would have ever needed.
She was getting stuff from baby booties to a stroller, she got diapers, sleepers, toys, a diaper genie, playpen and she got a portable playpen/crib from Fran and Dave so that way when the baby was over at casa Rossi they would have a place to lay him or her, well that was when Fran wasn't holding them that is.
Penelope rubbed her growing baby bump and said, "soon little one, soon you will be here wearing these beautiful clothes, the sleepers were all neutral colors like yellow and green with a few multicolored thrown in for good measure.
Derek and Penelope both wanted to be surprised of the sex of their child when he or she was born so when the doctor had asked them if they wanted to know the sex of the baby, they did but they wanted to be surprised with the rest of their family.
Upstairs Derek put the finishing touch in the room by adding the rocker that Penelope had picked out several weeks ago, she had no idea that he'd got it for her it would be a complete and total surprise for the momma to be.
Dave and the others stood back and said, "now this is a nursery", Derek said, "and downstairs is all of the stuff that's gonna go in here" as he motioned at the closet, changing table and crib, Reid said, "and trust me when I say that you are gonna need alllllllll of it".
Derek said, "it's time to get the momma to be up here so that she can check out the nursery", Dave said, "yep and I can tell you now that she's gonna love it son, it looks absolutely amazing", Derek grinned as he walked to the hallway and said, "sweetnesssssss".
Penelope said, "yesssssss", Derek said, "the nursery is done, do you want to come and check it out?", she said, "absolutelyyyyy" as the women all started making their way across the house and up the stairs so that they could check out the nursery that the men had all been working hard on.
When they stepped through the door Penelope said, "ohhhhhhh, it's beautiful", she reached up and wiped away the tears that were streaming down her cheeks, she said, "ohhhhh I can't believe this" as she touched the crib, she then walked around to the closet and said, "there is so much room in here".
Next she looked at the changing table and said, "this is going to come in handy for sure", JJ said, "ohhhh yeah it is, ours was a Godsend for sure", Derek said, "sweetness, there is something over here that you should check out", she started making her way across the room as she rubbed her baby bump.
She was now standing in front of the window, she looked out at the backyard and said, "it's so beautiful here", Derek said, "I have a surprise for you and it's right there" as he pointed to the sheet that was covering something.
She said, "a surprise, ohhh I can hardly wait to see it" as she tugged the cover off of the rocking chair, when she saw it she said, "ohhh hotstuff, this is the chair that I said that I wanted, thank you, thank you, thank you" as she hugged him and smothered his face with kisses.
He laughed and said, "sit down and try it out", she sat down in the rocker and rocked it back and forth as she looked out the window and said, "this will come in handy when we are rocking this baby to sleep", Derek said, "so do you like the nursery?", she said, "I love it, it's perfect and soon our little one will be here and he or she will enjoy it too".
Fran said, "everything is so beautiful, you all did an amazing job", the women all nodded their heads yes in agreement as they walked around looking at how beautiful everything was and how well it all fit.
Desi said, "and downstairs is everything that will fill this, this and this" as she pointed to the closet, changing table and crib, Dave said, "well then let's get everything put up so that kitten can see how the nursery looks filled up".
About 45 minutes later they put the last of the items on the changing table and stood back looking, Penelope said, "perfect, everything looks perfect, thank you all so so much for everything you've done".
Dave said, "kitten we're a family and family is always there to help", Penelope said, "thanks papa bear", JJ said, "alright now that everthing is taken care of how about we order some pizza? and enjoy some movie time?", when two little boys heard the words pizza and movie they were more than ready for it.
Penelope smiled as Derek helped her up out of the rocking chair, they walked hand in hand out of the room and down the stairs and were soon sitting in the living room waiting on the pizza to arrive.
The family then spent the rest of the evening eating pizza, sandwiches, chips and desserts from Penelope's baby shower while they enjoyed several movies together as one big happy family.
