April Showers Bring May Flowers-Ch 7
Sunday was amazingly peaceful for Penelope, she had enjoyed a delicious brunch with the Hotchners before heading home to get things ready for work the next morning, she'd had a good weekend and was more than ready to get back home.
When she walked through her apartment door a little while later she toed off her shoes, wiggled her toes and headed through her apartment to grab a bubble bath, she couldn't wait to sink into a tub filled with bubbles and let them take her troubles away.
Across town Derek was pacing his house furiously, "what is she thinking, what is she thinking?", he shook his head in disbelief and said, "that's obvious she isn't", he said, "well I've had it" and grabbed the box off of the counter and started putting things into it, not just things but things that Penelope had given him as gifts.
As he put each thing into the box memories of her filled his mind, not that it took much because she was always on his mind, he loved her, he needed her more than he needed the air that he breathed but now that he's caught her with another man it's time, it's time to let her go".
Once the box was filled with the things that his girlfriend, no, scratch that, she wasn't his girlfriend anymore, she was his ex-girlfriend and he didn't want the things she had given to him to even be in his house anymore, just thinking about her being with Kevin was making him sick at his stomach.
A few minutes later he was standing in front of her door, he raised his hand and knocked on the door, Penelope grabbed a bottle of water out of the fridge and made her way across the room to answer the door.
When she opened the door she said, "hotstuff, what are you doing here?", he said, "can I come in?", she said, "sure" and stepped back to allow him to come inside, once he was in the living room she closed the door and turned to face him and what she saw was anger and it was written all over his face.
She said, "what can I do for you?", he handed her the box and said, "you can take this stuff back, I don't want it anymore", she said, "this is all of the stuff I've given you, why are you giving this back to me?", he laughed and said, "that's funny, why do youuuuuu think that I might want to give this stuff back to you?", she shrugged and said, :"I have no idea".
Derek said, "let me ask you a question", she said, "okay, go ahead", he said, "did you enjoy yourself last night?", she said, "last night, yes, yes I did, I had a wonderful night thank you, what about you?", he said, "ohhhh it was just peachy, I had a blast after I caught you".
She held up her hand and said, "caught me, caught me doing what?", he said, "don't play dumb with me Penelope, you're not good at it", she said, "calm down and tell me what you're talking about Derek, you're not making sense to me".
Derek said, "okay then how about I just be blunt and tell you?", she said, "yes, please do", he said, "I came here last night to make up with you, to admit that I was wrong but when I got here Kevin's car was outside so I came upstairs to see what he was doing here".
Penelope stood listening to him in disbelief as he said, "I came up here and the two of you were enjoying a delicious meal together, the food smelled amazing and there was soft romantic music playing".
She shook her head and said, "that's not possible, I wasn't", he said, "you liar, you Penelope Grace Garcia are a liar and do you know what else you are?", she said, "Derek, wait, listen last night I", he said, "ohhhh I know what you did last night, I took one final look up here from my truck and saw the apartment lights go off so I know what you were doing you tramp".
The loud sound of her hand hitting his cheek filled the air
