Eliza was still sitting in the waiting room, though she'd asked Lena to help get Kara to go home, since her younger daughter had pushing herself pretty hard, even for a kryptonian, since Kara had barely sat down since Alex was hurt and the only time she'd left the hospital before now was to help Courtney and Yolanda with their abilities.

However, she was pulled from her thoughts when she heard Clark enter the room.

"Clark." Eliza said as she got up to hug the man who was like a son to her.

"Eliza, hey. Sorry it took me so long to get here. Where's Kara?" Clark asked, surprised not to see his cousin anywhere near her.

"I had Lena take her home so she could get some actual rest and some food that doesn't come from a vending machine or the hospital cafeteria. Kara can't help anyone if she's rundown. She's blaming herself for what happened." Eliza said and Clark nodded, since he'd do the same thing.

"How bad is the damage?" Clark asked.

"Alex is paralyzed from the waist down. Kelly's back there with her now." Eliza said.

"I can go to the fortress to see if there's any tech up there that might be able to help Alex," Clark offered.

"Thank you Clark, but that's something to talk to Alex about after she's discharged. For now, we just need to be here for her. Speaking of being here, Lena sent the L-Corp plane to Smallville to pick up Lois and the boys, so they should be here soon." Eliza said, since the trip from Kansas to California was not one a pregnant woman should make by car ride.

"Good. I'm just glad that I got here before Lois did, otherwise I'd never hear the end of it from her." Clark said.

"I know that, but why would you be late?" Eliza asked.

"Because I just faced Lex in Metropolis." Clark said.

"Wait, he's free?" Eliza asked.

"The DOD wanted to keep it covered up until they had time to evacuate Metropolis before Lex and I squared off. Thankfully when he attacked me on my way here, we landed in an area that was already empty." Clark said.

"Yeah, I think that when Lena and Kara get back, you should tell them about your fight with him immediately." Eliza said.

"Actually, I think that this is way too important to put off. I know that Kara needs her rest, but she and Lena need to know about this now. Though I think that Lena already knows, since she did send me a kryptonite suit to protect me from Lex's kryptonite blasts." Clark said.

"As much as I want Kara to rest, I know you're right. Especially what happened the last time Lex free. He turned the whole world against Supergirl, manipulated a clone of her and then nearly killed her and nearly took over the country." Eliza said and Clark winced at the reminder of how much Lex had done while he'd been lounging on Argo.

"Clark, it wasn't your fault. You can't blame yourself." Eliza said, knowing what Clark was thinking.

"If I'd been here instead of on Argo, Lex would've gone after me, not Kara." Clark said.

"Or, he would've had Red daughter pose as Kara and send her to attack you, since we all know that she's stronger than you, especially since you'd take it easy on her, even if you knew she was a clone. She could've killed you." Eliza said.

"Still, Lex is my headache, not hers. I feel bad enough that she had to deal with Reactron, but Lex is not someone I wanted her to have to face. At least not alone. And now she won't have too, but I need to talk to both her and Lena about Lex, plus I need to thank Lena for the kryptonite suit." Clark said.

"Go. There's nothing we can really do for Alex at this point right now and she'd agree that Lex is a higher priority. Go, I'll call if anything changes." Eliza said and Clark nodded as he left the hospital before quickly changing into his Superman suit and flew towards Kara's apartment.

When he arrived on the balcony, Superman was not surprised to find Lena sitting on the couch in Kara's living room, waiting for him, but what did surprise him was the small white puppy that seemed to be sadly lying on Lena's lap, whimpering. He was guessing that Kara was currently asleep in her bedroom.

"Superman." Lena said as she rubbed Krypto's head without getting up.

"Lena. I'm guessing Kara's asleep in her room?" Clark asked and Lena nodded as Krypto perked up as he picked up a new, and yet somehow familiar scent.

"Yes and it seems like Krypto is interested in you." Lena said with a smile.

"Krypto?" Clark asked as he landed and the dog barked happily at him.

"Kara's pet dog from Krypton. Long story." Lena said.

"Yeah, I'll ask about that later, though he is cute." Clark said as he landed and Krypto came up to him and Clark let the dog sniff him and Krypto barked at him happily.

"I guess he likes you." Lena said.

"Most dogs usually do." Clark said as he kneeled down to pet Krypto, who immediately jumped up and began licking him.

"He recognizes you as a member of the house of El." Kara said as she walked out of the bedroom and Lena was relieved to see that despite the short nap she'd taken, she looked completely refreshed. Probably due to her alien biology.

"So, is there a reason you never told me about Krypto?" Clark asked.

"Because until a few weeks ago, I thought he was gone and it was hard enough thinking about our home and family, let alone my beloved childhood pet who I thought died before Krypton did." Kara said as Krypto, sensing his mistress's sad mood, quickly rushed over to her and jumped into her arms, causing Kara to smile.

"Something humans and Kryptonians have in common is how easily dogs can cheer us up." Clark said with a smile and Lena nodded in agreement.

"Anyways, what brings you here instead of the hospital?" Kara asked.

"We need to talk about the fight I just had with Lex." Clark said.

"Wait, Lex escaped again?" Kara asked.

"Are you really that surprised?" Lena asked her girlfriend.

"No, but why didn't you tell me he was fighting Clark so I could go help?" Kara asked her.

"Because you wouldn't come back. Kara, you were exhausted and too focused on Alex. You weren't in any shape to fight Superman's greatest enemy. Besides, I sent him a different kind of help. A kryptonite suit like the one I made for you, though maybe not as fancy." Lena said and Kara chuckled while Clark rolled his eyes.

"That's why I'm here. I'm hoping that the suit's systems gathered data about Lex's suit while I was fighting him, since this one seemed to be an upgraded version of his usual Lexosuit. Way more powerful, though he did end up sacrificing it to cover his escape." Clark said.

"It did and we'll take it to the Tower later to go over the data. Especially since I need to check the satellite program Brainy and I are running there now." Lena said.

"What program?" Clark asked.

"Hacked into every satellite on the planet to look for Jeremiah. I think that Alex needs both her parents now more than ever. Once we find him, that's when J'onn, Brainy, Nia and I go to destroy a Cadmus facility to bring him home." Kara said.

"And me. You ever need any help with that, you let me know. Especially since Jeremiah still means a lot to me. Plus, I owe you for not being here when Lex escaped last time." Clark said.

"Clark, I encouraged you to go to Argo for your family. We didn't know that Lex would escape." Kara said.

"The thing is, I should've. And the moment I found out he was free, I should've come back to help fight him. It shouldn't have fallen on you to deal with my enemy." Clark said.

"It's fine. We pulled through in the end. But right now, we need to get back to the hospital." Kara said and Krypto whined.

"Sorry boy, I know you want to see Alex too, but they don't allow dogs in the hospital." Kara said as she kissed Krypto's head before grabbing Lena's waist and flying out the window, with Clark right behind them.
