Chapter Four

Um. Slight Trigger Warning.

"Shh. Andy, shh, it's going to be okay." Vic ran a hand up and down Andy's back.

"I miss my dad" Andy sobbed out and Vic felt her own eyes tear up at the thought of their old captain. "I miss Ryan" Andy's body shook from the sobs and she couldn't stop them. The sobs just kept coming and Vic's heart was breaking for the woman she was holding.

Vic held Andy until her breathing was under control and felt her slump against her. Vic pulled away and saw Andy looking back at her and Vic very well nearly wanted to break down into tears at seeing the pain that was clear in them.

"Andy, I think you need to go home."

"No." Andy shook her head. "I can't. I won't. I need to stay. I need to show that I'm okay. I need to be that brave firefighter everyone knows me as. I…"

"Andy. Andy. You need to breathe, okay?" Vic told Andy. "it's going to be okay." Vic tried to assure her but Andy shook her head and exited the ambulance, stumbling and falling as she did, landing on her wrist and whimpering as she did. "Andy!" Vic jumped down from the ambulance, went to Andy's side, and helped her sit up. "Alright, that's it," Vic told her, getting up. We are going to the hospital, getting that looked at…"

Andy interrupted. "I'm fine. I promise. I don't need a hospital." Vic wanted to argue but Andy was able to roll her wrist. "The fall just caught me off guard," Andy told her and Vic sighed, knowing that she wouldn't win this battle.

"Andy, I need you to look at me," Vic demanded and thankfully Andy looked up at her, tears in her eyes. "Come over to my place or let me come to your place after shift, okay? I know you're struggling and you want to appear strong in front of everyone, but you don't have to with me, okay? I know you're struggling and I can help you. Understand?" Andy nodded and for the first time since Vic saw her struggling, Andy leaned into her, and Vic wrapped her into a hug and just held her. "Hey, why don't we go grab some food? I'm sure you could use some food." Andy stood up after Vic let go but shook her head.

"I don't think I could keep any food down right now, to be honest." Andy looked down for a moment before looking back up. "I'll drink some water and maybe see after."

Vic nodded and both were about to make their way up to the beanery when Robert called Andy into his office. Andy looked at Vic with a panicked expression before turning to Robert. "Is there any chance this could wait? I haven't gotten the chance to eat yet." The two women watched Robert shake his head so Andy followed, shooting a worried look over her shoulder to Vic. Vic tried to give her a reassuring look but all that she did to calm Andy down just went out the window and Vic felt concerned herself.

"Come in." Robert invited her into the office and closed the door behind them and turned to Andy. "I think we need to talk," Robert told her and Andy suddenly got a really bad feeling when she saw that the blinds were closed and when he locked the door behind them.

"Chief Sullivan, what are you doing? I have work to do," Andy tried to walk by him but he held onto her wrist. Andy looked down and back up with fear on her face but Sullivan didn't seem to care and pulled her into a kiss. "No. No, I don't want this!" Andy tried to fight him off but he wouldn't let her go. "Please!" Andy tried to scream but it was no use when Sullivan covered her mouth with duct tape. Andy was frozen, she didn't know what to do.

15 minutes later Andy stumbled out of his office, tears on her face and as she was rushing to the bathroom she bashed into Vic.

"Andy? What happened?" Vic asked, trying to hold onto Andy's arm but Andy flinched and kept going past Vic, deciding a bunk would be better for privacy.

She closed the door behind her, locked it and fell down onto the bed, tears falling down her cheeks once again and sobs racking her body. I can't do this anymore. She thought as the sobs kept coming.

In case you weren't sure about the meaning of this title, I guess you, sadly, are now.
