Chapter Seven

Maya rubbed her back, hoping she would be able to help get Andy to sleep. After half an hour Maya heard Andy's breathing even out and she sighed. She was thankful Andy was asleep but she was still left with the question she had gone there to ask.

What the hell happened?

It was hours later and Maya was still laying down with Andy when she heard Andy whimper. Maya sat up, moved off the bed and rushed to the side Andy was facing.

"No. NO!" Andy cried out.

"Andy. Andy, I need you to wake up. It's just a bad dream, okay?" Maya shook Andy which she found to be the wrong decision when Andy sat up, gasping. "Andy." Maya sat on the edge of the bed, rubbing Andy's arm. "Can you look at me?" Andy didn't move but Maya heard her sniffle and waited for a moment and was relieved when Andy looked at her. "I need you to tell me what happened earlier. Please. I just want to help you." Maya told her. When Andy looked down again Maya gently put a finger under her chin. "Talk to me. Please."

"I can't," Andy told Maya. Looking her in the eyes for a few more seconds before moving away from Maya and walking out of the room and to the kitchen. Maya followed and watched her grab a glass and fill it with water.

Maya walked to the kitchen and stopped a couple of feet from Andy. "Andy. I can't help you unless you tell me."

"Maybe I don't want any help, Maya," Andy told her, running a hand through her hair, undoing the bun Maya had put her hair in when she was throwing up. "I just need you to go." Andy lifted the glass to her mouth and Maya watched her swallow some water before setting the glass down.

"No. You shouldn't be alone right now."

"You don't know what the fuck I need or what I should or shouldn't be doing." Maya was taken aback. No matter how angry Andy got she never swore. "Just get out!" Andy yelled at her.

Maya was taken aback. She knew Andy was mad but she had never seen this side. She had never seen a full-on raging, Andy.

"No. I'm not going to leave until you tell me what the hell is going on. I can tell something serious happened to you, Andy."

Andy started to pace the width of the kitchen. Maya just watched her. Waiting, hoping that Andy would confine in her.

"I'm not going to talk," Andy told Maya. "I need to rest so can you please leave me alone?"

"Just tell me, Andy!" Maya was losing her patience. She just wanted to help her friends.

"I can't," Andy told her, voice breaking. "Just leave me alone. Please." Andy begged and walked over to the couch, wrapping the blanket that was on the back, around her body. "Maya, please just leave."

"No." Maya sat down next to Andy and pulled Andy into her arms. "Please talk to me," Maya begged again and Andy broke down into sobs.

"I didn't want it." Andy managed to get out between sobs and Maya's heart dropped. "I promise Maya," Andy looked up at Maya and Maya's heart broke at the pain she could see in Andy's eyes. "I didn't want it," Andy said one last time before breaking down into heart-wrenching sobs. Maya just continued to hold onto her, trying to be there for Andy but not knowing how good of a job she would do when Andy had just admitted to being raped.

Maya didn't know what to say so she just continued to hold onto Andy. She pulled out her phone and quickly sent a text to Carina, thanking her for telling her about how she saw Andy in the hospital.

"Andy, how about we get you back to bed." Andy just nodded and Maya gently pulled her to her feet and led her to the bedroom and laid her down. "You alright if I change into some of your clothes so I can get out of this uniform?" Andy nodded.

Maya leaned down and kissed Andy on her forehead before turning to get changed. She quickly grabbed an old academy T-shirt and a pair of shorts before joining Andy in the bed. She watched Andy roll over and get closer to her so she wrapped an arm around Andy, pulling her closer.

It was silent between the two of them for what felt like forever when Andy's tears slowed.

"Andy?" Maya asked her voice almost in a whisper.

"Hmm?" Andy asked.

"Do you know who did this?" Maya felt Andy nod and her heart dropped. "Who was it, Andy?"

"I can't tell you," Andy whispered before falling asleep.
