To scrappy8: Snape is a shit character, and I never liked him, no matter what Snape apologists say. Thank you!
First of all, I would like to thank all my readers for taking the time to read and leave me a comment to read. They always make my day, even if it's just something like "great chapter" or "love it". It means a lot to me.
Now onto the main announcement. This chapter will be the last chapter I post for this story for a while, as I've been suffering from a really bad case of writer's block, having not written anything new for more than a month now. So I will be taking a break from this story, and any new stories as well. I might be posting a few old works, like microfics and oneshots. But I can promise that I'm not abandoning this story and that I will finish this story. I hope you guys understand. Thank you, and I hope you enjoy this chapter!
Chapter 10: Plans and Schemes
Harry woke up suddenly, unsure what woke him. He rolled onto his side, to see a sliver of moonlight shining through the gap between his curtains. He moved into a sitting position and pulled back the curtains. Glancing at the clock on his desk, he saw that is was 4 in the morning. He walked over to the window and stared at the moon shining brightly down on him. Sitting on the windowsill, he complemented what could've woken him up, but his mind drew a blank.
He went over the first day of classes, thinking about his own performance, slightly worried that he had done too much, but as he mulled over his memories a bit longer, he thought that he was okay. A smile flitted on his face as he thought of Ginny. His wife, the love of his life, professional Quidditch player to boot!
He grinned at the thought of seeing her, and sobered significantly when he realized he would have to wait to see her. He yawned, turning his head to take a look at the alarm clock on his desk. He startled when he realized that it was almost 5:30. Shaking his head, he head back to his bed, and was out like a light.
Harry woke up to someone shaking him, shouting at him to wake up. He opened his eyes to see Hermione standing above his bed with her hands on her hips. "Harry! Breakfast is almost over, and we have class in a half hour!" She glared at him as he sat up quickly, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. His eyes widened when he realized the time and scrambled out of bed. He kissed Hermione's cheek, gathered up his clothes and head to the bathroom to get ready for the day.
He glanced at his bed as he rubbed his hair with his towel, surprised to see a plate full of food on his table and a note on top of it.
Since you didn't have breakfast, I decided to head to the kitchens and get you some. You better not be late to class! We have double potions first!
Hermione
He grinned. Hermione may get mad at him sometimes, but he knew she'd have his back. He gobbled his food fast and head down to the common room and found Ron and Hermione waiting for him. He nodded at them, and crawled out the portrait hole. They had double potions first, so they head to the dungeons and entered the class, waiting for the professor to arrive.
Potions may be completely unbearable, and he may hate the guy, but he had to admit; Snape was an incredible potions master, especially for his age. A good teacher, however, he definitely was not.
That evening, Harry trudged down to the Great Hall for dinner, tired and hungry. He slumped forward on the bench and filled his plate with food. He could feel his energy coming back with his first bite, which intrigued him. He had felt that his magic was stronger, but why, he didn't know. It might have been due to the fact that he was no longer a horcrux, which Hermione had confirmed for him during their lunch break.
"I'm worried that I might still be a horcrux." He blurted out, grimacing. Ron's eyes widened, before they narrowed on him. Harry shrugged and glanced at Hermione. She had been reading something very intently, but a thoughtful look had crossed her face at what he said. She shook her head, slightly reassuring him. "I don't think so; the horcrux was already destroyed before we came back in time." "And that matters because?" He asked. She rolled her eyes.
"We came back in time to our younger bodies, essentially replacing our souls. At the age of 11, you were a horcrux, and your magical core wasn't fully developed. Your magical core is connected to your soul, and Voldemort's soul might have been pressing down on your magic, not letting you use it to your full potential. Even though we're physically still kids, our magical cores are fully developed. So no, I don't think you're still a horcrux." She explained. Harry's eyes were wide in surprise, and he noticed that Ron's were too.
Harry shook his head. He hadn't realized it, but he had been very worried that he was still a horcrux, and Hermione explaining it to him really reassured him. His magic being stronger could also relate to the fact that, like Hermione had said, his magical core was fully developed. He had the body of a child, but the mind and soul of an adult; albeit a young one, he was still an adult.
His magic was stronger, but he felt tired after using it for long periods of time. It was only the second day of classes, and he already wanted to collapse on his bed and sleep for a week. It felt like when he was in the training camp for the Aurors, but at the same time, not. He hadn't felt this tired after using magic. If Hermione or Ron felt like this, they didn't show it.
He also wanted to see Ginny, which was bloody impossible until the summer. He could write to her, but it wasn't the same. Plus, what would Molly think if someone she didn't even know was writing her daughter?
He groaned in frustration, slamming his forehead to the table, closing his eyes. Hermione grimaced sympathetically at him and turned back to her book. Ron just raised an eyebrow.
After dinner, they head to the common room and sat down in front of the fireplace. Harry sighed, his head falling back. "Quirrell's still a shit teacher, then." Ron said. Harry chuckled. Ron grinned at him, and Hermione tsked at Ron. "Speaking of Quirrell, what are we going to do?" Ron said, lowering his voice. Harry sat up straighter in his chair and looked at him. He raised his eyebrow at Ron. Ron grinned sheepishly at him, and he shrugged. "Well….."
I'm sorry for leaving you guys on a cliffhanger, but I had no idea how to end this chapter. Thank you all for reading!
