"I'm not sticking around, just look around you the longer we wait the more screwed we are" Brad stated as Jill still exhausted from the earlier attack glanced around at the destruction which mirrored that of an apocalyptic R-rated movie.

If there was a hell, then surly they were already there-

"How'd this happen so fast?" Jill exclaimed as two citizens raced past them in the opposite direction,

"Damned if I know, but one fucked up thing always leads to another, it's like Arklay on steroids".

Jill continued following her teammate, a loud helicopter flew overhead-

"Hey! Hey wait down here!" Brad yelled and waved his arms at the overhead choppers, unfortunately- however the pilot neither sees or hears the mans cries for help.

"Damnit!" Brad exclaimed as the helicopter disappeared from sight, explosions emitted from the Cinema complex at the end of the street sending large flames soaring into the night sky.

Jill wondered if it was the same all over the city, a large metal container caught her attention- not because it looked like it had fallen out of the sky, but the red and white emblem of the side of the destroyed metal container was extremely identifiable 'Umbrella'.

Was it just a coincidence?

She pondered if this container had anything to do with the sudden appearance of the creature that attacked her.

As she turned the corner squeezing through all the cars that had been abandoned by their owners, she saw that the street had been blocked with some metal barriers, the Zombies on the other side of the barricade shook the fencing with hungry rage.

"I've got to be dreaming- how could this many people be infected?" Jill mumbled to herself,

She was going to wake up any second now- she was going to wake up in her safe apartment and finish that leftover pizza.

The alarms from all the buildings that were on fire made her head ache, when all of a sudden the hungry monsters on the other side of the barricade seemed to double their efforts.

"Brad here they come!" Jill yelled to her teammate over the noise, Brad turned to her fear in his eyes as the barricade behind him began to fall and the undead fell upon them.

Brad quickly moves before the metal fence can hit him,

"In here!" Brad yells as the Zombies began to pour over, they ran for a set of doors of what used to be a bar,

"There's too many of them!" Jill exclaimed as she watched the shambling ravenous corpses come after them, as Jill bursts through the doors into the bar Brad throws the bars wooden sign at the horde that was quickly approaching them.

The pair hold the doors shut behind them, but the two S.T.A.R.S officers were no match for the strength of the hungry Zombie horde-

"Doors behind you!" Brad yelled to Jill as he placed all his strength in to keeping the Zombies out,

"Move!" he urged Jill who raced to see if it was a reliable route of escape, Brad attempted to stab a Zombie as its head snuck through the gap in the door when all of a sudden its powerful jaws latched down on Brads arm,

Brad let out a loud scream dropping his knife as the Zombie munched into him.

"Brad!" Jill yelled as she retrieved the dropped knife and plunged it straight into the Zombies head causing it to release Brads arm.

"Ah Fuck!" Brad cried clutching at the bleeding wound, the pair put all their strength into keeping the horde out

"Don't think about it" Jill attempted her best attempt at being a comfort

"We're gonna make a run for it!" she tried to assure him.

"Come on Jill you know how this ends" more banging on the door behind them reminded them that they were running out of time.

"No, I don't" she lied and Brad knew it was a lie,

"Are we still a team?" he asked his fellow S.T.A.R.S friend

"Always" she assured him-

"Then do me a favour, don't fuck up like I did, GO!" he pushed her towards the escape door seemingly accepting his gruesome fate,

Jill paused looking back at the pilot as he singlehandedly held the doors keeping the Zombie horde out.

There was nothing she could do to help him anymore- he was infected and that was a fate worse than death, she burst out the escape door into a side ally.

"I'm sorry Brad" she said to the uncaring silence.

She wanted to yell to scream at the loss of a good friend, but tears would do Brad no good any more,

All she could do now was honour Brads sacrifice with what he asked, for her to escape this city.

Turning the corner Jill comes across the corpse of a dead 'and unmoving' police officer, the cop's G19 Handgun caught her attention as she had lost hers in the earlier chase,

"Sorry" she said to her fellow law enforcement officer, she checked inside the clip only to find a few 9mm bullets inside.

A loud crash echoed in the dank ally alerting Jill that she wasn't alone, with a strong grip on her new firearm, she turned gun in hand to face the Zombie that shuffled into her view.

Earlier that evening...

September 28th 19:30pm

LOCATION: The Streets of Raccoon City

The Avenger known as Black Widow or Natasha Romanoff to a few number of good friends stood on the roof of a wrecked city bus amidst the carnage and the terror around her.

However, the Black Widow remained a pillar of level headedness, she'd spent the last thirty minutes taking pot shots at the Zombies that attacked the fleeing citizens.

How did this Avenger find herself in such a mess?

Personally- she knew she had no one to blame but herself.

But it started when S.H.I.E.L.D received the statements of four S.T.A.R.S officers that were reported to having survived a living nightmare in the Arklay mountains,

The statement accounts were of reanimated corpses, monsters, betrayal, conspiracy and more worryingly a Pharmaceutical company creating Bio-Organic Weapons 'B.O.Ws for short'.

After S.H.I.E.L.D got wind of the intelligence they decided that there was no one better suited for such a dangerous mission other than the Black Widow 'Infiltrate and Destroy'

If Umbrella were creating monsters, then Natasha Romanoff the Black Widow was going to put a stop to it.

The T-Virus is how it had been referred to in the reports and if an evil pharmaceutical company was going around creating world ending viruses then surly, they would also have developed some kind of vaccine.

No help would be coming to her, Clint was in retirement happily on Holiday with his family in Europe, Thor was in Asgard dealing with family drama and the other Avengers were in Wakanda- hopefully having more 'fun' than her.

Help wasn't coming, but that didn't matter when you were the Black Widow, when you were an Avenger a 'Hero' to many people,

She didn't feel like a hero as she fired expertly at the monsters- monsters with the faces of innocent people.

"Give me a giant monster over this any day" she mumbled to herself as each of her bullets hit their intended mark.

She wasn't a hero, she mentally reminded herself- she was an assassin with a dark past

"Red in my Ledger" Natasha shook her head, she had a mission to complete, and she was going to accomplish it by any means necessary.

Natasha suddenly spotted a large cargo plane flying nearby, her sensitive green eyes focused on the red and white logo on the side of the craft

"Umbrella" she hissed as a Zombie climbed onto the roof of the bus, she shot it in the head without even needing to glance at it.

Umbrella was officially on her 'shit list'

The pharmaceutical company had tried hard to cover up the event of the Spencer Mansion, but she doubted that even they would be able to cover up this shit show.

Black Widow watched as something fell from the cargo plane- some sort of large container, it fell to the street with a loud bang,

A bomb was her first thought, but such an impact would have triggered any detonation, but nothing.

She was curious as she back flipped off the wreckage with a grace that would rival that of an Olympic Gymnast,

Thankfully- she had already cleared most of the Zombies from the street as she moved on to the crash site.

Natasha mentally kicked herself for not mentioning her mission to Racoon City to any of the other Avengers, but Maria Hill had asked her not to, especially not to Tony Stark.

Her request seemed reasonable to her- at least when it was going to be a simple espionage mission, but now she was sure she could do with a super soldier and a billionaire genius at her side in the battle.

The container landed into the main street which was now largely abandoned thanks to the Zombies,

The casket was huge 'Hulk Size' was the first comparison she could accurately make.

However, before she can approach closer the soft noise of a hydraulic lock releasing urged her to remain hidden in the shadows when suddenly the container exploded from whatever was contained inside.

Black Widow took a fighting stance from her position in the shadows out of instinct, but if her experiences with the Hulk were anything to go by then she was going to need to get her hands on some serious weaponry.

A loud roar screamed above the noise of the carnage around her-

"This just got a whole lot more complicated" she mumbled to herself as an unidentifiable creature emerged from the wreckage.

The word 'monster' seemed accurate enough, this must be one of those B.O.W's the reports warned her about.

"Shit" she hissed under her breath as the B.O.W jumped high into the air on insanely powerful legs, it moved with a purpose, an objective, perhaps a biologically engineered assassin?

The thought made Black Widow's blood run cold, thankfully it didn't notice her- or if it did then it wasn't concerned, because she wasn't its target.

Natasha suddenly realised that close by lived Jill Valentine, one of the S.T.A.R.S officers whose report was the basis of her mission.

One of the first things Black Widow did upon entering Raccoon City was to locate the survivors from the incident at the Spencer Mansion,

This creature had a mission of its own and as a former killer herself she could recognise what that objective was.

She needed to find Jill Valentine, fast.

Using her grappling hook, she climbed onto one of the rooftops facing the apartments to get a better overview when a large crash in one of the apartments informed Black Widow that she was too late.

Thankfully the woman seemed capable of escaping on her own, Jill slipped out onto the fire escape as the B.O.W pursing her released a terrifying roar, however Natasha lost sight of the woman as she slipped back into the building.

Natasha's brain raced through the details of the reports from two months ago, it had been pretty hard to get past the aspect of Zombies, but apparently other creatures could be horrifically mutated from the T-Virus (or Tyrant Virus).

Looking over the notes provided by the survivors on the experimentations she had pieced together that the 'Tyrant' had been Umbrella's ultimate success- a reliable and intelligent B.O.W that could be controlled,

Well... kind of, from what she had read the Tyrant broke free from its containment chamber killing former S.T.A.R.S captain and traitor Albert Wesker,

Although Natasha took serious note that a body had never been recovered- so she took the report of Wesker's death with scepticism.

Natasha spotted Jill Valentine again as an explosion sent the woman hurtling out of a fire escape

"Thank God" Black Widow sighed as the sight of the woman assured Natasha that Jill was alive, her relief lasted for about twenty seconds as the B.O.W crashed straight through a brick wall grabbing Jills head in one of its giant hands.

All of a sudden Natasha wished she had a spare Thor or a Hulk around she couldn't imagine anyone else being capable enough to go head-to-head with such a creature,

"No, this is your problem now Natasha you deal with it" she reminded herself and could almost hear Nick Fury's voice in her head.

When she spots Jill again the woman is slumped in the ally, shaken but unharmed.

The police officer quickly met with another member of the S.T.A.R.S team Brad Vickers, a pilot of the S.T.A.R.S Alpha team.

Natasha followed the pair along the roof tops,

She wondered what happened to the B.O.W, if any indication of the previous Tyrant's capabilities- she doubted that it would be that easy to take down, but the destruction of the previous Tyrant began to give her ideas.

"Hmm I wonder where I can get my hands on a rocket launcher?" she mumbled to herself when she watched as the duo below are chased by the horde of Zombies, they attempt to take refuge in a building, but Brad Vickers is bitten whilst holding the doors shut.

"Fuck" Black Widow whispered to herself as the pilot urges Jill to leave him, to eventually be torn apart by the Zombie mob.

Not wanting to see someone suffer such a horrific fate, despite the fact that the bite on Brad's arm was already a death sentence, Black Widow jumped to the street behind the horde, in her signature (totally not a poser) graceful move,

She retrieved a heavy explosive from her utility belt and threw it into the centre of the mob causing a large explosion of corpses.

A few seconds past as the pilot finally sensed that the horde attempting to tear him apart had thinned thanks to the hidden Avenger, he raced to find somewhere safe.

Black Widow briefly considered chasing him down and giving him a quick death- after all that bite was as fatal it got, but then she reminded herself that she wasn't an assassin any more.

She could already feel the glare of disappointment Steve gave her whenever she did something that would be considered very Un-Avenger-y behaviour.

She had to trust that the S.T.A.R.S pilot would do the 'right thing'

A dark thought for a supposed hero to have, but if it was her she would without a doubt place a bullet in her skull- after all she had never been the type to allow her heart to dictate, that kind of thinking got you killed.

A loud roar filled the now quite night air indicating that the B.O.W had not yet given up its chase of Ms Valentine.

A helicopter circled overhead, Black Widow climbed back up to the rooftops and exploded one of her 'Widows bites' into the air with a loud bang- she got the helicopters attention as it lowered its spotlight towards her.

"You're the Black Widow!" the pilot exclaimed excited at the aspect of meeting an Avenger (Despite low public opinion of the Avengers team, especially after Ultron)

"How can I help? Do you need a ride outta here?" the pilot asked, Natasha had no intention of using the ride for herself, after all she still had a mission to complete.

"No, There's a young woman roaming the streets in that direction, she's in a lot of trouble, you would be doing me a big favour if you could locate her and get her out of her" she yelled up to the pilot who merely gives her a thumbs up,

She appreciated that he didn't waste time asking questions as it's blinding spotlight flew in the direction she pointed them in.

She had to play this smart,

A few blocks away she had spied some U.C.B.S. mercenaries fighting off the Zombie horde, despite the fact that they were with Umbrella 'AKA the enemy', the U.C.B.S Soldiers she had seen had been fighting to protect civilians and Black Widow was contempt to leave them be if their intentions were to help, but now she needed some major fire power if she was going to confront the B.O.W, she wondered what kind of weapons she could steal from the mercenaries and with that thought in mind Natasha Romanoff raced into the chaos and god help anything or anyone that got in her way.

Authors Note: Black Widow will ALWAYS be my favourite Marvel Character, I already have ideas for a second book that will be entirely my own story line. I had to write the entire script for the game which was actually very time consuming, but this book WILL be a completed story, the next chapters will be releasing at regular intervals in a week, fingers crossed this story will be positively received.
