LOCATION: SUBWAY POWER STATION

A large eight legged shadow skittered in the background of the dimly lit power station, every wall was completely covered in some sort of organic web gunk,

Black Widow loudly clicked her assault rifle which seemed to cut through the tension like a knife

"Leave pest control to me, you concentrate on getting the breakers back on" Black Widow shot upward at one of the spiders that skittered towards them, the blast somehow sent the creature into an explosion of green blood.

They found the first breaker close by,

Jill forced it back into an upright position which was in fact quite difficult given that the spiders had covered their whole nest in their webbing which Jill really, really didn't want to touch.

Black Widow sprayed the bullets of her assault riffle as the mutated spiders seemed to crawl out of every crack, a few of the creatures that got too close got to taste the painful 'Widow's bite' and for creatures that had set up their nest in the power station, they really didn't like electricity-

"Next one" Jill stated as the spiders seemed to stop attacking for a short moment, Black Widow refilled her rifle.

The hallway of the nest made Jill feel sick 'as if she hadn't already emptied the contents of her stomach outside'.

She took a deep breath as she forced the switch for the next breaker upward,

She was relieved to have Natasha dealing with the spiders she couldn't imagine how shit it would be to have done this all alone.

"Next!" Jill announced as Black Widow shot up again at a spider attempting to get the drop on them.

The third breaker was easier to push up than the other two, but to get to the last one they needed to climb through some scaffolding that was blocking their route-

"Last one!" Jill exclaimed; she would be relieved to get out of here even a breath of fresh air sounded great.

As the last breaker flipped into place the spiders seemed to increase their attacks seemingly aware of what was about to happen,

"Oh come on!" Jill yelled as an angry giant spider broke through a wall of the webbing, luckily for them that spider had just opened a shortcut back to the exit.

The fresh air outside felt amazing compared to the humid sticky atmosphere of the spider's nest-

"Okay, all that leaves is the main power switch" they climbed the steel stairs back up to the switchboard that overlooked the spider infested power grid,

"Would you like the honour Ms Valentine?" Black Widow motioned to the switches that were bound to provide a shocking death to all the creatures nested in the power grid,

Jill doesn't hesitate to pull the main switch, a surge of electricity went across the powerlines destroying the spiders nest and hopefully everything that resided inside

"Enjoy that" Jill smirked, glad that was done with Jill retrieved her Walkie Talkie from her pocket a called Carlos

"Carlos its Jill and Romanoff, we've restored power to the subway"

Natasha takes the quick pause to keep check on her supplies, the spiders had made a serious dent in the ammo she had for her assault rifle

"Nice going, next up is traffic control. It should be in the subway company's offices" Natasha brought her communicator up on her Stingers

"Right, I think we already know the building" there is a brief laugh on the other end of the transmission

"Really? Way to go partners, thinking one step ahead"

Jill quickly responded "We're not your partners" Natasha scowled at Jill.

Jill didn't strike Natasha as someone to be unreasonable, Carols may work for Umbrella, but he was hardly at fault for anything that the pharmaceutical company had done.

September 28th 23:50PM

LOCATION: Streets of Raccoon City

They exit the power station back out onto the streets, at first neither of them realised that they were being hunted until the brick wall on their right exploded and neither of them were prepared for what happened next.

The giant creature that had been chasing Jill earlier was still very much alive and it hadn't yet given up its hunt, the creature growled an inhuman terrifying roar at both of them.

Jill couldn't believe it she had seen the monster perish right in front of her, or at least she thought she had long assumed it to be dead

"Are you shitting me?" Jill yelled as they are left with little choice but to run-

"Questions later, just fucking run" Jill didn't need the Black Widow to tell her twice.

Jill found herself struggling to keep up with Natasha who ran much faster than anyone else she had ever seen run.

She felt the creatures fist painfully connect with her back, the impact sent the air flying out of Jill's lungs as the had attempted to kite the monster back around the power station.

Natasha turned around as the creature attempted to strike Jill again,

Natasha knew her guns were next to useless against the B.O.W, but she quickly considered a direct surge from her Stingers may give them the moment they needed to escape.

However, the second the Black Widow entered the creatures reaching distance it grabbed her neck in one swift strong motion,

The B.O.W growled at her as it tightened its grip around her neck and head a move which would have disorientated her, but the man that trained her to fight when she was young had a metal arm.

Black Widow shut her eyes an threw a flash grenade to the floor, the stunned creature immediately dropped her.

Natasha quickly helped Jill to her feet "RUN" she yelled as she doubted that the creature would remain stunned for very long.

They race back to the garage from earlier as Jill retrieves her Walkie Talkie-

"Carlos that thing is still alive, its after us" they both slow down, they were now out of the creature's line of fire, it now seemed to have disappeared which in a way was worse,

Natasha would much rather have the creature on her tail rather than not knowing where it could be,

"What RUN! Come back to the station" Carlos yelled through the Walkie Talkie, Natasha immediately picked up the communication on her Stingers

"No, not until we've got traffic control online" she prepared herself for Carlos to argue with her, but a response never came.

Natasha turned to Jill as they exited cautiously back out into main road after making sure the coast was clear

"You can go back to the subway station if you want, I'll make sure that traffic control gets back online" stating that it was unsafe seemed like stating the obvious, however neither woman was a stranger to fighting giant monsters,

Jill crossed her arms defiantly and grinned at the Avenger

"Not a chance Romanoff".

The pair move quickly across the main street, they both kept their weapons drawn ready to fire as they raced down the stone steps to the plaza,

Cutting through Moon's Doughnuts and out onto the side street that was completely illuminated red by the 'Kite Bro's Railway' sign,

They ignore the Zombies on the road, compared to the giant B.O.W, the slow shambling corpses didn't seem as much of a threat.

"Ok back again" Jill mumbled at the familiar sight of the railway offices, they return to the control room where the lights now flashed on all the consoles,

Jill noticed the main screen that was now lit up like Christmas the red light flashed under 'Redstone Street' where the subway train was currently stopped.

September 29th 00:00AM

LOCATION: The KITE BRO'S Railway Company

"Carlos, we're in the control room, now what?" Jill spoke through the Walkie Talkie as Black Widow fetched the manual for the controls

"Nice, now you gotta plot a route" he informed her,

Jill took a look at the manual Natasha had picked up "Ok gimmie a sec" Jill took to the control system

"Alright where are we heading?" she asked as she looked through the names of the stations on the routes

"The train is stopped at Redstone street, we need to reach Foxpark Station. Can you programme that in?" Carlos asked aware that he was asking a lot from someone that hadn't ever programmed train routes before

"Hey, I'm 'SuperCop', consider it done" Jill immediately cringed as the words left her mouth,

She could tell without even looking at the Avenger that the redhead was smirking at her

"Okay, so the train is at RE:01 and we need to get it to FO:01" Jill mumbled to herself, she could feel Natasha's presence looming over her shoulder which made her nervous.

Jill opened the route on to Faust Avenue FA:02 and on the third track through Raccoon Central Station, she inputted the code for RA:03 and past Saint Michael's Clock Tower SA:02 which finally brought the route to FO:01 Foxpark Station.

"Valid route confirmed" the computer system loudly announced,

"Carlos its me, I've finished inputting the subway route" she hoped that the boys at the station would have the tracks cleared, she couldn't wait to be out of this town-

"Jill you are amazing, tough as nails too. Hurry back to the station we'll make sure the subway is ready to depart" Jill sighed in relief.

"You know-, I think that you may actually like Carlos" Natasha suddenly spoke, and Jill felt her face get slightly warm at what the Black Widow was implying

"Seriously, he's with Umbrella, they're the 'enemy'. Once the survivors are out of the city, I will not spare that man another thought" Jill insisted, again the Black Widow's expression was virtually unreadable, but Jill couldn't shake the feeling that the Avenger was laughing at her

"Well he is... somewhat attractive" Black Widow responded as if Jill hadn't just insisted otherwise

"If you say so" Jill mused to herself,

Carlos seemed... nice, kind of an idiot and perhaps completely clueless to the crimes of his employers, but she realised that so far Carlos hadn't said or done anything that made her doubt that his intentions were to help.

They leave the control room through the offices where they immediately encounter another Zombie one that they had already shot down on the way in, but there was something different about this one, mainly the large parasite rooted upon the Zombies head

"What the fuck?" both of them shot at the new type of Zombie, but whatever the parasite was it seemed to make the corpse a lot hardier

"Try aiming for the red pulsing bit" Black Widow suggested as the parasite exploded with a squelchy pop and the dead body it had been inhabiting falls back to the floor

"That was- new" Jill stated as the carefully edged around the body.

Natasha was beginning to understand that there was a lot of new aspects to this Virus that she hadn't seen yet.

They cut through Moon's Doughnuts and back out into the plaza,

However they quickly pause, the creature was back and it was now implanting its own type of parasite into the Zombies via its arm tentacle,

Natasha noted the odd behaviour,

It was adapting quickly the B.O.W was physically creating more durable Zombies to put in their path.

"What the hell is it doing to them?" Jill asked Natasha who had no answer to that question

"When I give the signal, run for the Toy Uncle, don't look back and don't fucking stop".

They needed to get past the creature, they could only manage running in circles around the streets for so much longer-

"What's the signal?" Jill asks as the creature charges towards them, Black Widow retrieved an explosive disk from her belt.

"You won't miss it" she stated and threw the disk at the approaching creature causing heavy sparks of electricity to stun it,

Jill knew a signal when she saw one.

As the monster growled in pain and anger at the Widows attack,

Jill ran as fast as she could, she sensed Natasha running behind her she wasn't running as fast as usual because if the creature did manage to catch up to them, Natasha wanted to make sure that she would take the brunt of an attack.

Jill reached into her pocket; her hand gripped around the lockpick she was sure if she timed herself that this would be the quickest lock she'd ever picked.

They quickly hid out of eyesight of the view from the street although they were certain that the creature had seen them enter the toy shop, but now it just seemed to pace the street, waiting them out as if something forbids it from entering.

"What is it doing, why isn't it coming in?" Jill asked breathlessly as both of them peered over the counter watching that dark shape outside

"I'm not sure" Black Widow didn't like it one bit.

"The subway is just across the street, but that thing is a fast fuck" Jill stated, it was odd that something so large could be quick too

"Give it a few moments Ms Valentine let's see how long its willing to wait"

Black Widow wanted to test the creatures capacity for patience, the B.O.W's had one basic instinct to kill and most of them didn't have the mental capacity to plan and adapt to its prey's attempts to fight back, but this creature was a new type of B.O.W entirely

"Do you think I should call Carlos, let him know that we're pinned down" Jill asked as U.B.C.S was literally just across the street, but if a direct hit from a rocket launcher couldn't keep it down she doubted that the U.B.C.S would have any luck combating the creature,

Natasha shook her head

"No, we're going to get down to that subway and you're getting on that train" Jill shot Natasha a confused look

"Don't you mean we- 'we're' getting on the train outta here" Black Widows expression, although not very noticeable- made Jill slightly nervous.

"No Jill, you're leaving Raccoon city, but I have to stay. I still have my mission to complete"

Jill had guessed that the Black Widow was in Raccoon City on business and knew better than to ask again, until the Avenger just brought it up-

"What mission?" she asked, she couldn't imagine any mission being so important that it would force her to remain in the middle of the Zombie apocalypse.

Black Widow looked over her cover to see if their stalker was still pacing outside,

The heavy footsteps told her yes.

"This virus can remained contained within Raccoon City for now- but that wont change the fact that it exists, if this gets out it will be the end of the world-, again"

The Black Widow was no stranger to world ending situations, as it turned out those type of situations were the Black Widows speciality,

"If there's any hope I need to find a cure"

A cure? Jill knew the Black Widow was clearly several steps ahead of everyone else Jill supposed that trait is what made her such a valuable Avenger alongside a god and a super strength rage machine, the Black Widow played the long game.

Jill wasn't above admitting that she was developing a big crush on the Black Widow and the thought of Natasha placing herself in even more danger made her stomach knot up

"What if Umbrella didn't create a cure or what if you don't find it?" Jill asks the Avenger who slowly turned to look at the S.T.A.R.S officer, as usual her expression was more or less unreadable, but it exuded something that made Jill's breath catch in her throat

"Then I won't be leaving Raccoon City" it was a do or die situation for Natasha, the only person that she knew of that was of the same mind set was her former partner Chris Redfield, Jill hoped that Natasha would complete her mission.

"Okay Jill, on the count of three its asses and elbows, he's still out there, but if we're quick we can out run him" Jill nodded

"1, 2, 3!" on the last count the both of them darted for the Redstone subway station avoiding some of the 'hardier' new Zombies they slid under the steel shutter slamming it down immediately once they were in

LOCATION: Redstone Subway Station

"Another plan perfectly executed" Jill grinned.

They make their way down to the entrance where they find Carlos already waiting for them.

A large smile of relief spread across his handsome face as their presence reassured him that the two were safe-

"Nice job Super Cop, Black Widow I'm impressed" Jill rolled her eyes, Natasha resisted the urge to do the same,

"Are we back in business?" Jill asked as Black Widow looked through the groups supplies, she was in desperate need of some more assault rifle ammo-

"Yeah, mostly, but we need another thirty to forty minutes to finish maintenance" the loud sound of one of the steel shutters being lifted caused Carlos to jump, lifting his firearm out of instinct, however it was only Nikolai along with another U.B.C.S soldier.

"Nikolai how are we looking?" Carlos asked the man that Jill and Natasha had the misfortune of meeting earlier.

Black Widow rolled her eyes out of view of everyone else, she had secretly hoped that Nikolai had gone and gotten himself eaten by Zombies, unfortunately not.

"The towns crawling with those freaks, no chance of fighting our way out of the city" as if on que Black Widow loudly reloaded her assault rifle snapping the Russian mercenaries attention at her and Jill.

"Why are they here!?" Nikolai angrily asked as Carlos stepped in between them sensing the tension between the three of them-

"They're helping to get the trains running again" Carlos insisted, but his words don't seem to register with the Russian man.

The Mercenary didn't even acknowledge Carlos and seemed to ignore any attempts by the younger U.B.C.S soldier to calm the situation-

"Bad time to start carrying dead weight friend, she's unreliable, cant pull the trigger when it counts" Nikolai was now in Jill's face who was trying her best to not respond to Nikolai's taunting.

"Take it easy" Carlos insisted as Natasha suddenly placed her short frame in between them,

"Yes Nikolai take it easy. We're all here because we want to get survivors out of the city- so how about you cut out your bullshit and work with us and not against us"

There were a few seconds of terrifying tension that made everyone except Natasha and Nikolai uncomfortable, Carlos and Jill shared a nervous glance.

"Must be difficult for you Ms Romanoff being a hero, not exactly in your nature is it?"

He charges past Natasha painfully hitting his shoulder against hers in the process-

"They'll get you killed" he tells Carlos before storming off melting the tension in the room, Jill sighed a deep breath.

"Sorry about that- everyone's a little worked up" it was a lie- Carlos knew it the moment he's said it, but he still just wanted everyone to be on the same page.

The three of them are surprised when a loud bang of the steel shutters that kept the subway safe from the outside were being destroyed, the crash was accompanied by a loud roar evident that their friend from earlier had tracked them down,

"Aw come on! Not again!" Carlos exclaimed as he urged the two behind him,

He pressed the switch for the shutter above them to shut, however in a flash the Black Widow ducked under the closing shutter.

"I'll buy you the time you need" she insisted just as Jill followed Natasha's example rolling under the shutter a second before it closed

"Hey! Wait Jill!" Carlos yelled

"It's me he's after!" Jill insisted as the large creature walked around the corner

"Dammit" Carlos yelled and kicked the now closed shutter with frustration.

Black Widow immediately took off in a run with Jill and the monster on her heels-

"Get that train running!" Black Widow yelled back to Carlos as she glared at the S.T.A.R.S officer racing hard to keep up to her pace

"What the hell Jill!" Natasha had hoped that she could lure the monster away from its primary target at least long enough for the train to leave the city,

"Stop trying to be my fucking hero and run Black Widow!" the creature ran fast behind them as they led it on a chase around the subway,

Natasha recalled being chased down by a very angry Hulk before- it was a very similar feeling.

"Come on you creepy ass stalker, you want S.T.A.R.S I'll give you S.T.A.R.S!" Jill shouted,

As they ran into a stock room they found a small vent 'just big enough for them' on the wall it looked like it could lead out of the subway.

"Get it open, I'll keep him distracted" Natasha insisted as she fired a Widows Bite at the giant attacker, adapting from last time it quickly shrugged off the voltage.

Natasha increased her Stinger output to max and fired again, the creature emitted a loud roar-

"Any day now!" she yells to Jill who furiously pulled at the covering of the vent,

"Got it!" Jill yelled as the vent covering came free from the wall.

Black Widow fired several more bites at the quickly adapting B.O.W and followed Jill into the darkness of the subway vents.
