Chapter 05: Aquos

Outer Edges of the Sol System

Regions of space that would be later called the Kuiper Belt and the Oort Cloud are beyond the solar system's planetary region. Trillions of comets and asteroids orbit the Kuiper Belt and Oort Cloud. Due to their distance, they are mainly composed of rock, water, ice, and frozen gases.

The metaphysical consciousnesses of both regions weren't as condensed as those near the core. While the system's progenitor was rather adamant about their placement, they were still curious about the worlds they were assigned to protect.

Comets could spend billions of years in the Kuiper Belt or Oort Cloud. With a minor push and pull on their part, sometimes, those comets would come close to one another or even crash into each other. When this happened, the comets changed directions, and new paths will bring them into the Inner Solar System.

Earth

A few years had passed since Earth collided with Thea. The cataclysmic event melted both planets and spun off a sizable chunk of lava that cooled into the moon. What would later be called the Hadean Eon matched Earth's generally hellish vibes at that point. The planet was once more in a melted state. Any photonic crystals transferred from their new satellite were consumed or assimilated into the Earth. The impact vaporized much of Earth's crust and upper mantle, creating a rock-vapor atmosphere around the young planet. The rock vapor condensed within two thousand years.

Earth could've had a similar surface environment to its siblings Mercury, Venus, and Mars. The early sun was hot. Solar and magnetic winds blasted light gasses away from the sun, mainly leaving heavier elements behind, allowing rocky planets to form near the center. However, FATE had a way of stirring things up.

At this time, the previous crust was gone. Both Anguirus and Albion went dormant until a new one was formed. Until then, Godzilla remained on the surface. For a while, it was relatively the same as the Genesis era.

Godzilla swam through the magma oceans as usual, circulating the molten material and adjusting his body in various ways. Occasionally, his body hummed in energy, and miscellaneous information about the planet flashed in his mind. During a particularly mundane solar cycle, Godzilla floated on its back, gazing at the night sky. There were more clouds than before, but he didn't mind.

Then he noticed something moving across. Thankfully, his instincts told him it wasn't another planet. As a comet approached the warmer Inner Solar System region, the ice became sublime, vaporizing into gas and leaving behind a magnificent shiny tail. Kuiper and Oort could have a close-up experience of their more lively siblings in these moments. Among the stars, it was one of the most brilliant objects in the night sky.

However, the brief calm was interrupted as its trajectory entered Earth's gravity field. The comet dove down and impacted over the horizon. At first, Godzilla didn't think any of it; however, the rate of these impacts increased exponentially.

Godzilla held out an arm. A random comet struck his body quickly. He felt a slight cooling sensation as it vaporized from the heat. These objects were slightly different from last time. The Titan shrugged. It should be the same as last time, right?

Anything that hit the surface would have melted straight into the magma oceans. It was so hot that the atmosphere contained vaporized gaseous rock at temperatures around 2000 degrees Celsius. Millions of comet and asteroid impacts occurred.

The experience was a repeat of the original accretion period to Godzilla and Earth. As comets and asteroids melted into the mantle, they carried water minerals into the magma ocean, trapped in the mantle over time. This included the water minerals stored in the mantle during Earth's initial formation. When these minerals melted, water was released. The resulting water was superheated into gas.

Lighter than magma, water vapor bubbled up and out into the atmosphere. But this process was a race against the clock because the magma surface was cooling—and once a solid lid of rock formed, no more water could escape.

Sensing the new layer, both Albion and Anguirus tunneled to the surface. Upon returning to their Ultimate One, they found the Titan lounging around.

Following Godzilla's gaze, they noticed the strange formation in the distance. It was some sort of pool of non-volcanic liquid. As the Earth and the moon began to cool, liquid water formed on Earth's surface. As soon as the Earth cooled enough to put a cap on the magma, an ocean started to form.

Earth's atmosphere was extremely hot and pressurized. It was so thick that even when the surface temperature was 230 degrees Celsius, water didn't boil. The first ocean was superheated.

Gazing back to their king, the two blinked, taking in the appearance change. His stone skin was darker in some areas. Godzilla Type-Earth had significantly less exposed veins of magma rolling off its body. Instead, superheated water circulated down his torso. Fragments of Photonic Crystal dotted across his scales. Godzilla shrugged at their reaction. It was just another adaptation of the planet.

Seeing that things were fine, both Albion and Anguirus began traveling on the new crust. New tunnels were dug. Mountains and volcanoes shifted. New fissures formed from both Anguirus's and Godzilla's recreation activities. All across the planet, they noted more pools of liquid forming. Anguirus noticed them growing increasingly, covering their crust domain as time passed.

Later

As the years passed, that superheated ocean didn't last. The surface of the Earth created a new rocky crust. Not only that, small oceans expanded throughout the surface. Albion was hesitant at first before just sticking to the shallow waters. Anguirus was not particularly pleased by this change. Godzilla took it in stride and dove into the waters without a care, even when they were still boiling before. Even now, his body has incorporated the new water.

Godzilla felt the familiar tingle during his first exploration of the cooled ocean. A new arrival was being made. Following his instincts, he traveled to a particularly deep area of water.

Once more, the energies within the planet stirred. The new material from the outer rim was quite interesting. From below the ocean's depths, the underwater crust quaked. A fissure formed, and new eyes opened from the dark depths. Slowly, a gargantuan figure swan out into the open waters. Its head breached the surface and screeched, signaling its birth. It had a long, dark green serpent-like body. Fins adorned its length and head.

The World spoke.

Leviathan

Much like Ablion, the new Titan hissed at Type-Earth. Anticipating the newcomer's behavior, Godzilla decided to nip this one in the bud. The new guy was not ready to challenge him. Deep within, his nuclear core hummed. Instead of distributing the energy into a beam, he took a page from Anguirus' book. As Godzilla roared, cosmic atomic energy infused with it. Radioactive Sonic pulses emitted from his maw.

SKREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONK!

Leviathan felt the physical burn from Godzilla's declaration on its scales, rearing back a bit. It was outmatched, for now. Eyeing the Ultimate One, Leviathan submerged back into the water and swam away without provocation.

With an annoyed sigh, Godzilla also swam away. He knew better than to think it was settled forever. He more than expected to see a challenge years from now after it accrued power. After all, it would be a much better challenge.
