Author's Note
New thing!
I was heavily inspired by all the Bleach stories that Goshinzilla did and wanted to do the same thing! ...Sort of.
My idea for this was Chiaki Nanami, from Danganronpa, being a part of the Vandenreich, an army of Quincies, which is a race from the Anime Bleach. And with the powers of Jihan Han from The Gamer of Korean Comics.
If you like this concept, then please keep reading and help me get my creative juices flowing with any references you can think of~!
"I'm proud of you, Hajime. Go on and live your life..."
A young lady with a white backpack, a dark green hoodie, and a chain attached to her chest watched on as the young man she called Hajime walked off a yacht with his friends. She holds a bunny-like creature in a tutu, a plushie.
This was Chiaki Nanami. In life, she had a talent for playing video games. She was known as the Super Duper High School Level Gamer. Or Ultimate Gamer, if you don't like mouthfuls. She attended an academy called Hope's Peak Academy, a school that welcomed all teenagers with talents of their own, even though some of them, like Ultimate Little Sister, aren't... REALLY talents.
But then, a truly malicious, evil young woman named Junko Enoshima, the Ultimate Fashionista, came to Hope's Peak Academy and turned the academy into the most ironically named school to ever exist. She, and Mukuro Ikusaba, the Ultimate Soldier, had made two Killing Games, but Chiaki participated in neither as the first Killing Game began, making 12 students participate in a game where they must kill each other until one is left standing, took place before any student or staff member ever noticed.
Instead, Chiaki was punished.
Punished for believing in hope. Hope that she could turn Hajime Hinata, a student that had no talent, who had been turned into an emotionless young man named Izuru Kamukura, a man who had every single talent in existence, back to the young man she wanted to play games with. Hope that she could save Chisa Yukizome, her teacher and the Ultimate Housekeeper, and her friends and fellow students of Hope's Peak from Junko's despair-loving rampage.
Hope that she would live to do any of that.
Junko lived for despair because of her boredom with hope. She had always claimed that despair was unpredictable while hope was completely predictable. That hope was linear order and despair was complete chaos. Chiaki's death became the catalyst for the despair that flooded into Chisa and Chiaki's friends. In the days after Chiaki's death, the second Killing Game started. One that ultimately, after all but five students were either murdered or punished for getting caught in their murder of their fellow students, claimed Junko's own life.
Chiaki sighs sadly.
"If only I could come with you..."
With that said, she wandered the earth, her chain disintegrating as it gets smaller and smaller over the days, weeks, and months passing by. Suddenly, she felt a dreadful presence. That presence turned out to be a large monster with a mask on its face and a hole on its body which was as big as its arms and legs. "W-What is... that...!?" She gasped before the monster roared, making her run away.
The monster ran after her, its steps making Chiaki falter. Its large size made it slower, but it took longer strides, allowing it to keep up and even catch up to Chiaki, making her fall to the ground, dropping her rabbit plushie. She looked at the monster with dread as it closed in, closing her eyes tightly for the end to come.
But the end never came, for her savior came instead.
The monster was shot through the head, making it disappear in particles. Chiaki opened her eyes slowly and saw her savior. It was an old man with long black hair, a mustache, a black cloak, and a white military-like uniform with a glowing blue bow he held in his arm. She looked amazed at what he could do before he suddenly appeared in front of her, making her flinch.
"A lost soul... Another one taken before nearing her time..." He said.
"Who... are you...?" Chiaki hesitantly asked.
"I am the father of all Quincies. The prognosticator of all my children. I am Yhwach." The man introduced himself.
"You're using some kind of magic, aren't you? Please... Bring me back to life! I... I want to see my friends again! I want them to see me! I want them to-"
Yhwach simply puts his hand on her head, interrupting her. "I am capable of bringing you back to life. However, your life will be completely different than what you were used to."
"Different? How could I care...? I just... want to live one more time. ...I don't care how different my life is. I want hope again. ...No. I already have it. It's... right in front of me. I'm Chiaki Nanami, the Ultimate Gamer. If I have to discard my Talent, discard the life I lived before in order to live again, then I will. So long as I get to interact with my friends one more time." Chiaki said in determination as she stood up. "If I have to defeat you in order to do so, I'll stand up again and again until you make me live again!"
Yhwach let out a chuckle before it slowly evolved into a laugh. "It seems I have lit a fire of determination in you. Very well."
"So... what do I do?" Chiaki tilted her head.
"Just hold still."
"Huh?"
With a firm grasp on Chiaki's head, power flooded through her. The rush was intense, painful, liberating. She grunts in effort and pain. Her grunts transformed into growls then yells, then screams...
And then... she roared.
With that roar, she fell to her knees exhausted for only a second. She felt so much power that she felt like being on her knees for a second longer would be an insult to the man that gave her such enormous power in the first place. She looked over to the riverside, seeing her new clothes. A white cape and uniform similar to the uniform she wore to school, a stylish white military cap, a thigh-length skirt, knee-high stockings, and ankle-length boots.
"This power... I never felt so... awake... Not even when I was punished for believing in hope..." Chiaki looked at her hands before pinching herself to see if she was dreaming. She was not.
"Welcome to the Vandenreich, Miss Nanami. I hope you will enjoy your stay." Yhwach smiled before he turned around.
CONGRATULATIONS!
Chiaki let out a startled gasp from a blue box of black text appearing in front of her.
"Hm?" Yhwach hummed, noticing her gasp. "Something wrong?"
"Y-You don't... see what's in front of me?" Chiaki asked.
"See what?"
Chiaki looked genuinely confused. She thought that if he could see ghosts, he could see the text box in front of her. ...Could it be that only I can see the text box in front of me?
"What could you be thinking about, Miss Nanami?" Yhwach asked as Chiaki tapped on the box before another box of text appeared in front of her.
You have been chosen by Yhwach to wield a divine power! This power is yours to wield as you see fit! You can live your life as an RPG character!
An RPG character...? Does that mean... she's like a video game character now?
"Miss Nanami." Yhwach called, getting her to pay attention. "I asked you a question."
"O-Oh. Um... Sorry. I, uh... I just thought I was seeing things..." Chiaki apologized. "P-Please, lead the way, Mr. Yhwach. ...That's getting a little hard to say, the more I say it..."
"If it makes it easier to address me, feel free to address me like you would a king." Yhwach said.
"Like... "Your Majesty"?" Chiaki guessed, Yhwach simply nodding. "Okay, Your Majesty."
"Of course." Yhwach replied before opening a portal, leading to a wide, two-tiered building. The bottom tier is supported by six thick columns, while the upper tier is roughly half as wide and long, instead being held up by pillars; it also features windows consisting of two thin slats in the wall on either side. The ground below it has a set of stairs leading up to the lower tier, and the entire complex is surrounded by an angular barrier with octagonal joints. It is framed by two gutted, curving, tusk-like structures arching toward each other in front of it, and is dwarfed by a large, rectangular tower with a cross on each side rising up behind it.
"What is this place...?" Chiaki asked.
"This is Silbern, the home of the Vandenreich." Yhwach answered. "The Quincies, that is."
"Oh. And... that's what I am, right?"
"Indeed. This is your new home."
"Will I be able to see my friends again when I leave?"
"Who knows? Perhaps, perhaps not."
"You don't know?"
"If I may be frank, Miss Nanami, it was a miracle I was able to make it to you and save you from that Hollow in time."
"Hollow? That's what that monster was called?"
"Yes. There are many species of Hollow. That was only one of many."
"And... do they get stronger and scarier with each variation?"
"Some do, some do not."
"That so? I wonder what I can do about them..." Chiaki hummed.
"That is what you will be taught. But first, allow me to take you on a tour through Silbern." Yhwach said to her. Chiaki nods before another text box appears in front of her.
This is Silbern, home of the Quincies of the Vandenreich. This will serve as your main hub, where you can train, rest, and pretty much do anything you want! Just don't go too far, or else you might get kicked out.
Chiaki took the warning to heart and kept following Yhwach.
One long tour later, Chiaki saw the following messages during the tour:
These are the Training Grounds! Here, you will be able to train and obtain new skills so long as you put in the effort!
This is the Cafeteria. Here, you can eat the food you have been served.
This is the Shop. Here, you can buy Quincy-based weapons, clothes, and items.
This is your Quarters. Here, you can sleep as long as you need to or until you are called for a mission.
Now that you have been given the tour, it is time for your first Quest!
You have been given a Quest.
Quincy Powers, Away!
Be taught how to use the powers of the Quincy

Y/N
Just going to assume that Y means Yes...
With that thought in her mind, Chiaki tapped the Y on the box. "Now then. Shall we begin to teach you how to fight as a Quincy?" Yhwach asked Chiaki who nods. "Good." He said before taking Chiaki back to the training grounds.
After making it there, Chiaki looked around and saw a great many Quincies, some training their archery skills, some practicing close quarters combat, and some just watching things happen. One such Quincy training is an imposingly tall and well-endowed girl of slender build. She is light-skinned with long wavy pink hair and short bangs that frame her forehead and pink eyes. Her attire is a variation of a typical white uniform, consisting of a frilled skirt, frilled gloves, frilled boots, leggings, a belt with a heart-shaped buckle, a large purple bow with a white Wandenreich symbol around her neck, and a white cap with gold trimmings, which features a black peak and the Wandenreich insignia emblazoned on its front, turned sideways.
"Whoa..." Chiaki let out. That got the Quincy's attention before she turned and saw her. And Yhwach.
"Your Majesty!" The gal gasped, making all the Quincies stop their training and watching before they salute.
"At ease, everyone. Don't stop on my account." Yhwach said to the Quincies.
"S-Still, to what do we owe this sudden pleasure?" The gal asked as the other Quincies went back to training.
"I would like to have this girl be taught how to fight like a Quincy."
"I-Is that all...?"
"Indeed."
"You're not teaching me yourself?" Chiaki brought up. Yhwach chuckles.
"I am a busy man. I will trust you to teach her adequately, Meninas." He said to the gal in front of Chiaki, the gal nodding.
"Of course, Your Majesty." She bowed as Yhwach left. "May I have your name?" She asked Chiaki.
"Chiaki Nanami." The Ultimate Gamer said.
"Well, hello, Chiaki. My name's Meninas McAllon. Let's get you started right away!" Meninas exclaimed.

Level up!
LV: 1 → LV: 2
Stat Points: 30 → 35
With the tutorial of how her powers work done, Chiaki went to her Quarters. She then wondered about something.
If I can see that I leveled up, how can I look at my stats? There's usually a button for that in RPGs, but in real life? Hmm... Maybe there's a voice command... Let's give it a try.
"Status Screen."
And right on cue, her stats appeared.

Reward: 1,500 EXP
Good. I've almost leveled up again. Let's see... What to do...
Chiaki suddenly hears a knock on the door. "Come in." She welcomed. The door opens and she sees a petite young girl with chin-length blonde hair and golden eyes. Her attire is a variation of a high-ranked Quincy's typical white uniform, consisting of a skirt in place of the signature trench coat, gloves, patterned leggings, and a white cap with gold trimmings, which features a black peak and the Wandenreich insignia emblazoned on its front. She also wears a golden heart buckle on her waist.
"Hey. You the new girl?" The girl asked.
"I am. My name's Chiaki Nanami."
"Liltotto Lamperd."
"Nice to meet you."
"You too."
... ... ...
"So, you gonna take a picture or something? It'll last longer." Liltotto said to her.
"Sorry for staring. Also, photography is something a friend of mine does as a part of her talent." Chiaki replied.
"Oh? Never heard of photography being a talent before."
"Yeah. She won a couple of awards and got famous for her skill at photography and making portraits."
"That so? Wow."
"She's skilled in multiple photography categories. But her favorite is one that features people smiling. You'd never see someone smiling so bright and heartwarmingly until you see her photos." Chiaki stated with a smile of her own. One of admiration. "I think she told me that... traveling the world and capturing the joy on the faces of people from different backgrounds has long been her dream as well."
"You seem rather fond of her."
"She and I were friends before I..." Chiaki was about to go into detail before stopping herself short, no longer smiling, instead opting to look down in shame and sadness.
"Until you...?" Liltotto pressed.
"...Until... I died."
"That's rough... I know a fellow Femritter who died before becoming a Quincy herself."
"Femritter?"
"It's what we call the female Sternritter."
Chiaki tilts her head. Liltotto sighs. "An extremely powerful Quincy."
"Oh... That's cool. I hope I get to be one."
"...Sorry to tell you this, but... you probably shouldn't try." Liltotto suddenly replied.
"Why not?"
"There's already one member of the Sternritter for each letter of the alphabet. Each Sternritter is assigned a letter that corresponds with their power. For example, I'm Sternritter G, the Glutton."
"The Glutton... As in the deadly sin, gluttony?"
"Yeah."
"So you can eat a bunch of things?"
"Including spiritual attacks, yes. But this leaves me in a constant state of hunger." Liltotto explained. "But back to my main point: Unless you demote me somehow, you can't be a Sternritter."
"...Who says I can't make a new group of Sternritters?"
Liltotto blinks, allowing Chiaki to continue.
"If I'm strong enough, and take in a bunch of Quincies, I can make my own group of Sternritter. ...I think. I just need to find the power to do so. ...Which probably means I shouldn't focus on my video games so much even though I love them to death..."
"You're a gamer?" Liltotto asked.
"Yep. The Ultimate Gamer, actually. Video games are my hobby, and I'm a fan of all genres." Chiaki answered.
"That so...?" Liltotto hummed in interest, Chiaki nodding. "...You know, I haven't talked this much to anyone before. Guess my curiosity was piqued more than I realized."
"I'm glad I could grab the attention of a strong Quincy like you for so long. And very honored."
"Yeah. Well, see ya." Liltotto sent off as Chiaki waved goodbye.

Whoa. This Quest popped up so suddenly. So... I have to make friends with a bunch of Quincies... and develop them. Well, Liltotto was nice. If a little flat and profane. I wonder who I could make friends with next...?
I also wonder if there are any Quincies that could be friends with me...?
With those thoughts in her mind, Chiaki lies on her back, lying on the bed. Ah... Questions for tomorrow... Right now... She yawns. I'll need some sleep... I'm sure I've got a big day tomorrow... even if... I don't have... a mission... That's... something... Chiaki couldn't finish her thoughts before she drifted to sleep.
The next day...
Knocking on Chiaki's door was heard. "Morning, new girl!" It was a man's voice she heard as she woke up. Chiaki sits up and yawns.
"Coming..." She responded, wiping her eyes of any tears she may have shed from yawning. She walks to the door and opens it, revealing a man with green eyes and keeps his red hair in a long Mohawk and has two metal nuts pierced into his upper-left ear, and a bolt through his lower-right ear. His attire is a variation of the Sternritter's typical white uniform, consisting of the order's signature hooded cloak, a thigh-length trench coat, black gloves, and pants which are cropped just above a pair of black military boots. He wears a thin chain with the Wandenreich emblem attached to it around his neck and black armbands around his biceps, with a skull and cross bones design on it. "...Morning. How can I help you?" Chiaki asked, just now realizing that she was talking to the man in front of her.
"His Majesty's got a mission for you and me." The man said.
"Oh. ...Already? How urgent?"
"Gotta get this done as soon as possible."
"...Why take me with you?"
"Oh, it's not just you I'm taking."
"Really? Who else?"
"You'll see. C'mon." The man urged, turning and walking away from Chiaki who starts following him.
"...Can I have your name, sir?"
"It's Bazz-B. Sternritter H, The Heat."
"I'm Chiaki Nanami."
"Nice to meet ya."
"You're pretty nice like Liltotto."
"You know her?"
"Yeah. She and I talked before I went to sleep."
"Yeah, well, unlike Lil, who's flat and profane, I can be harsh. Very harsh."
"Oh?"
"I'm quick to speak out against something that troubles me. ...And just now, I thought of something that DOES trouble me. Are you sleepy or something?"
"...Yeah. But that's because, in life, I played a lot of video games every day. I tend to focus too much when playing video games to the point where I forget to eat, sleep, or even breathe. But that's obviously not a problem since, well, I don't have any on me. I guess I'm just sleepy because I might have developed Narcolepsy from when I was a normal human. ...I think."
Bazz-B almost cracked up. "You think?"
"I wish I could end some of my sentences on a more positive note..." Chiaki sighed.
"Well, assuming you don't die in this mission, you'll have plenty of time in the world." Bazz-B huffed.
"I guess so." Chiaki shrugged.
Reached Support Level C with Bazz-B
Reach Support Level C with 10 Quincies (2/10)
"We're here." Bazz-B declared, Chiaki no longer paying attention to the text boxes that appeared in front of her.
Chiaki looks and sees a few Quincies, one of which was Liltotto. "Oh... It's Liltotto."
"Chiaki." Liltotto let out.
"Huh. So you DO know each other." Bazz-B hummed in interest. "Well, either way, we've got ourselves a mission to do."
"Is this everyone you need?" One of the other Quincies asked. This is a man who has light brown, swept back hair and a full mustache. He has shallow cheeks and wears thin-framed glasses. His attire is a variation of the Sternritter's typical white uniform, consisting of the order's signature hooded-cloak and a calf-length trench coat, which is tied at the waist by a white belt. Beneath this, he wears a shirt and a blue tie, as well as white trousers and shoes.
"Yeah. We should be good, Robert." Bazz-B nodded.
"So, where will we be going?" Another Quincy asked. This one is a relatively slender individual. Their hair is mostly short and blonde, but the right side of their bangs are longer and purple. Their fingernails are painted and each bear a dark diagonal line. Their attire is a variation of the Sternritter's typical white uniform, consisting of the order's signature hooded-cloak, a trench coat, and a bolo tie encircling their neck.
"Dunno, Berenice. Never saw it before." Bazz-B shrugged.
"I object to you not knowing! Bazz-B, how can you not know? How have you not seen it yourself?"
"I spoke with His Majesty about it. He wanted it to be a... surprise. Especially with our new recruit." Bazz-B stated, his eyes veering towards Chiaki. The other Quincies follow suit.
"...Why are you all looking at... Oh wait. You were talking about me. Never mind. Carry on." Chiaki awkwardly said.
"Right... Anyway..." Robert was about to speak before a portal appeared before the group. "Oh. Looks like it's open."
"...Wait. That place..." Chiaki spoke up as she walked in front of the group. She looked deeply into the portal. "There's no doubt about it anymore... It looks different, but... That's... Hope's Peak Academy...!"
"And that is?" Liltotto raised an eyebrow.
"It's a high school where teenagers of various talents go to. Unlike other high schools, those teenagers don't partake in a practical exam, but instead have to be scouted first. Prior to being scouted, the students had to have already been attending another high school by requirement, meaning they were at minimum 16 years old."
Bazz-B waited for her ...I think, but it never came.
"Rather than typical school studies, students of Hope's Peak Academy were encouraged to develop their talents, with a practical exam in September halfway through each school year, where they would be required to demonstrate their ability. These practical exams were judged by dignitaries and experts and widely reported by the media in order to give Hope in the future to the nation, and failure could mean expulsion. Ultimate students who successfully graduated Hope's Peak Academy had the reputation of being guaranteed success in life, with many Hope's Peak graduates holding high positions in every field of the professional world." Chiaki kept explaining, her tone that of admiration before having an expression of sadness and anger. "...But that all changed when... SHE came..."
Upupupu~
"Hey. You alright?" Bazz-B asked her.
"Yeah. ...Sorry for keeping everyone here and ranting about my school." Chiaki apologized.
"It's fine, young lady." Robert said. "A school full of talented youngsters is quite interesting, I must say."

Chiaki presses Y on the board. "So... What's our mission?" She brought up to Bazz-B.
"Hollow hunting. Some Shinigami ain't doing their job right, so we'll have to kill the Hollows ourselves."
"Shinigami? As in... god of death? What do you mean by some?" Chiaki asked in interest.
"They are samurai of the afterlife, tasked with guiding those who died to a place called the Soul Society. Or so they say themselves." Berenice answered.
"The Soul Society?"
"A place where the Shinigami live along with those that are guided there. If particular souls live there and interest the Shinigami in any way, those souls join the ranks of the Shinigami." Bazz-B stated.
"But they were responsible for most of our kind being killed mercilessly." Liltotto spoke up.
"Most of our kind... A failed genocide, then...? ...I'll respect your boundaries and not have you talk about it if you don't want to." Chiaki declared.
"We appreciate the sentiment. Now then. Let us go." Robert ordered as he and the others, including Chiaki of course, head into the portal.
It's brighter than I remember...
Chiaki looked around, seeing the school she attended before she died. The symbol was still there, shining from the sun that was present in the morning. Students were flooding into the doors for their morning studies and showings of talent. She couldn't help but smile, seeing the school open again.
And so is the future of Hope's Peak... That Makoto Naegi guy must be doing a good job...
"Hey! Silbern to Chiaki! Hurry up or we'll leave ya behind!" Bazz-B urged.
"Oh! Coming!" Chiaki exclaimed, disappearing and reappearing to in front of the group.
"Easy. If you use that in broad daylight, people will think you're a magician or something." Liltotto scolded.
"Sorry. I was just feeling nostalgic..." Chiaki apologized. "And... wistful, if that's the right word..."
"No time to be nostalgic or wistful. Let's just get our job done." Bazz-B said as he and the other Quincies fly up with no one to see them.
"Right. Of course." Chiaki nodded before following the group. The quintet then speed on ahead.
This Hirenkyaku sure is something... If I was a normal human being, I probably wouldn't be able to stomach this amount of speed... And being able to fly using Hirenkyaku? I really feel like... Supergirl.
Chiaki gasps as she loses her footing a little before catching up.
...Even if I'm not very good at it...
"You keeping up, rookie?" Bazz-B asked Chiaki who, although sweating a little, looked back with a confident smile.
"Nothing... hah... to it. I'll get ahead of you before you know it!"
"You won't have to. We're here."
The group of Quincies and Chiaki stop. Being able to stop on a dime feels natural too... So what are we dealing with here...?
Chiaki couldn't believe her eyes. It was a giant masked monster with bladed whips for arms, stones for toes, and a hole in its stomach. Its skin was a black with yellow lines on its head.
What am I... looking at...?

"That's a Latigo, alright. Hm?" Bazz-B hummed, looking at something. He sees two people clad in black with swords in their hands. One of them was a young lady with black hair in a ponytail and red eyes while the other was a man who has dyed orange spiked hair, a goatee that's tied into a small ponytail, and pale blue eyes. "Shinigami." He grunted with contempt.
"Those are Shinigami...?" Chiaki asked. "They look like... students of Hope's Peak..."
"You know them?"
"That's the only thing I know about those two. I don't know their names."
"Well, you won't need to. They're about to die." Liltotto said harshly, Chiaki flinching. She uses Observation on the two Shinigami.

Their levels are so low... But the Quincies here are... doing nothing...?
True to her thoughts, Chiaki looked at Bazz-B and the others and they are just standing there. "You're probably wondering why we're doing nothing about this, Chiaki." Berenice spoke up. "I'm doing nothing because I object to helping the Shinigami. After all, they were responsible for killing most of us, were they not?"
Chiaki turned her head away from Berenice, contemplating on what they said. True... That's what I heard... But who's to say it's not the other way around too? Are there too many Shinigami compared to Quincies nowadays...? Are they too strong compared to us?
And why do I harbor such hate for the monster in front of me...?
"Let's see if they can actually do their jobs."
"Not our problem unless they make it our problem."
"It's unfortunate, but we mustn't do anything rash." Bazz-B, Liltotto, and Robert respectively stated.
Chiaki was shaking. Not out of fear, but of anger. Both at the monster for unknown reasons, and at her fellow Quincies for choosing to do nothing to help the Shinigami, regardless of the bad blood between the two races.
"...I'm going." Chiaki declared, going to do so.
"Rookie. No." Bazz-B denied.
"Even if there's bad blood between the two races, SOMEONE has to be the mediator. And besides... This burning anger in me... won't last much longer before it explodes inside of me...! I have to help them kill it before I go anyway!" Chiaki growled.
"Die if you want to die then." Bazz-B grunted, Chiaki turning to face him.
"You're allowing this, Bazz-B?" Liltotto asked.
"It's just one more dead Quincy with so much potential in the pile. What the fuck else is new?"
WOW. Very harsh is an understatement. Chiaki turns back to the two Shinigami fighting the Hollow. Still...
Chiaki uses Hirenkyaku to speed ahead.
Damn it... Damn it!
Leon and Taeko were completely cooked against this Hollow. They could do nothing against it. "What the hell can we do against this thing...!?" Leon grimaced.
"Hmm... Hold it off. I'm going to try something different." Taeko said to him.
"Are you crazy!? We can't, even if there were two of us!" Leon exclaimed.
"I need you to take a gamble with me. If we don't even try, we die either way!"
Leon grumbled before yelling at the top of his lungs as he charged at the Hollow. "Here I go..." Taeko whispered to herself. She took a deep breath and puts her palm out in front of her. "Ye lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Inferno and pandemonium, the sea barrier surges, march on to the south!" She chanted.
Leon was sent back to Taeko on his back, grunting and groaning. "Agh... Are you done yet...!?"
"Hado 31!" Taeko was about to shout before she was hit into a wall by one of the Hollow's whip arms. Thankfully, none of the blades hit her.
"Taeko!" Leon called. The dust settles and he sees that Celestia is alive but very hurt.
"I'm surprised I'm not dead from that..." Taeko groaned.
"Hey, stay with me!" Leon ordered her as he ran over to her.
"You are quite sweet, dear~" Taeko flirted before both she and Leon hear the Hollow growling as it approached them. "...Ye lord..."
"Hey. ...Thanks for trying again." Leon said. Taeko smiled before continuing to chant. The Hollow, not wanting to let her finish, raised one of its arms to strike, but then blue glowing arrows appeared and stabbed into its back which had it turn itself away from the two Shinigami. "Just in the nick of time, Sayaka!"
"Leon. ...That wasn't Sayaka." Taeko told him. "This one's Reishi is... different."
Leon and Celestia looked over and it was a gal who had short, dusty pink hair that slightly curls outwards, though the locks on either side of her face curl inwards. She has short straight bangs split towards the right and sleepy-looking blossom pink eyes. She was wearing a white military uniform of some sort.
"Who are you?" Celestia asked.
"Chiaki Nanami. I'm a student of Hope's Peak Academy. ...At least I was." She introduced herself. She heard the Hollow growl, turning her attention to it. "Small talk will have to wait. Right now, let's survive." She told, drawing her bow and aiming at the Hollow.
Bazz-B and the other Quincies looked on as Chiaki and the Shinigami were fighting the Latigo, the trio getting themselves hurt severely. "What an idiot. Trying to save a bunch of incompetent Shinigami." Bazz-B spat as Chiaki gets a cut on her left arm.
"Oh well. Our friendship had a good run. I'll try to remember your name, Chiaki." Liltotto said.
"How unfortunate..." Robert sighed.
"Did no one tell her that Hollows are poisonous to us Quincies? Well, I suppose she'll learn the hard way." Berenice shrugged.
Now then, she's staying on her toes in this deadly dungeon full of deadly traps~! That's our Nanami, the Super Duper High School Level Gamer~! She's been dodging danger this whole time~!
Push that away...
Chiaki shook her head, snapping out of the trance she had. "Inventory..." She whispered, pulling out her Seele Schnider.
But things are just starting to get serious~! Now, Nanami, do your best and head for the exit~! Then you can be with the others again~!
Shut up...
Chiaki shook her head again as she sped ahead and attacked the Latigo who threw its whip-like arm at Chiaki who dodged, making it impale the ground. "Chiaki, look out!" Leon alerted Chiaki managed to narrowly avoid tripping, but was impaled in her foot by a spike that emerged from the ground, making her yell in pain.
I heard about you a while back...
-15 HP
Inflicted with Poison
Poison from Hollows
Hollows are a poison to Quincies such as you. You will take damage over time and your Reiryoku will weaken, making you take more damage from Hollows and making you more susceptible to poison. If you have 5 stacks of Poison from a Hollow, you will die.
-5 HP from Poison.
70/100 HP left.
Your class was all off doing their own thing, but you brought them all together.
Taeko runs over to Chiaki and placed her hand on her foot, a green aura surrounding her hand.

"Thank you..." Chiaki thanked Taeko who nods.
"Can you do a better job at holding that thing off?" Taeko asked.
"I can try." Chiaki hesitantly nodded.
"Good enough." Taeko accepted before taking a deep breath.
"Let's go, Chiaki!" Leon ordered.
"Right!" Chiaki replied before pulling out her bow and aiming at the Latigo while Leon yelled and slashed at the Hollow which did little damage.
I'm going... to see them again!
"Ye lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Inferno and pandemonium, the sea barrier surges, march on to the south!"
Chiaki fired her arrows at the Hollow which hit it and did some damage. "Looks like Reishi attacks are the way to go, huh...?" Leon huffed. Just then, he, Chiaki, and Taeko felt a rumble. "What the?"
"What the...?"
What the...!?
Chiaki flinched from her past self's echoing of her huff of confusion before shaking her head. She sees the pavement forming a boulder.
That's why I had my eye on you~!
Chiaki looked at Taeko who was concentrating. "Taeko! A boulder is coming!" She warned.
"I know! I'm going to shoot this thing at that thing and dodge that other thing, so you won't worry! Hado 31: SHAKKAHO!" Taeko shouted as she fired a (literally) red-hot ball of energy at the Hollow which hits it, exploding and dealing quite the burn on the Hollow before Leon, Chiaki, and Taeko dodge the boulder. "It didn't kill it!?"
Before Chiaki could process the monster's durability, two stones flew at her like bullets and hit her left shoulder and her right forehead, damaging the former and making the latter bleed over her right eye.

I'm going... to see them again...!
The Latigo roared and start whipping violently and rapidly at the trio of Shinigami and Quincy, the trio barely dodging each one. After that, Chiaki saw a shadow looming over her. She looked up and saw the foot of the Hollow about to crush her. Before it could, she used her Hirenkyaku to dodge the stomp, the attack making the earth tremble. Chiaki panted and looked at the Hollow looming over her and the Shinigami.
I won't give up... I won't let you beat me! Me, my classmates, Ms. Yukizome... We'll stop you!
Exactly~! That's the hope I wanted to crush~! The hope that you all believe in~! I mean, what better birth of despair is there than the death of hope~? Come on, you need to focus on getting away~! If you die, the footage is gonna turn your friends to despair~! If you don't like that, then move those legs~!
Stop it... Just... stop it! I need to focus on this! JUST this! Nothing else! Not the past, not the future! I don't have a past to go back to, and if I die, there's no future for me! That's why I-!
Before she could finish her thoughts, she was shoved out of the way of the Hollow's attack by Leon who managed to dodge it himself... but with a cost.
"AAAGGGHHH!" Leon screamed in agony. "My... My HANDS! My hands... are gone!"
"Hang in there! I've got you!" Taeko exclaimed, healing what was left of his arms.
As Chiaki was focused on the two Shinigami, Chiaki barely registers what was coming her way and dodged, but her hoodie was stabbed by the Latigo, pinning her to the wall.

I-I won't... give up...!
Chiaki rips off her hood to get herself out of the pin, making the Hollow retract its whip-like arm.
Time for a special break for our hard-working Nanami~! Maybe friendship can make a miracle happen!? I'll wait ten seconds~!
Chiaki looks at the Hollow who just stands there, its other whip-like arm in the ground.
Ten!
Did it mess up?
Nine!
Or... is it taunting me?
Eight!
The Hollow looks at Chiaki who could see its eyes curving upwards with sadistic glee.
Seven!
It's... taunting me...!
Chiaki roared as she prepared to shoot her Seele Schnider from her bow.
*STAB*
The screams in pain of the past and present Chiaki overlap with each other, the front thigh of the present Chiaki's left leg being stabbed by the Hollow's whip-like arm that was in the ground, making her let go of her Seele Schnider from the pain.

Chiaki was shaking in pain. "In...ven...tory...!" She managed to grunt before pulling out a glass bottle of red liquid, popping it open, and drinking out of it.

Taeko suddenly chanted, taking the Hollow's attention. The Hollow then pulls its whip-like arm out of Chiaki's thigh in an attempt to stop Taeko, but Chiaki shot more arrows at the monster.
They will... come for me!
"I'm right here! I'm your real opponent, Hollow! FIGHT ME!" Chiaki taunted valiantly.
It won't... end like this!
"Hado 34: SOKATSUI!"
With the shout, Taeko blasts blue flames directly at the Hollow which roared in pain. "DO IT NOW! NANAMI!"
Following her order, Chiaki launched herself at the Hollow, roaring in determination, flying high into the sky, making it look at her.

Chiaki weakly looked over at the two Shinigami. Taeko was back to healing Leon's no-longer bleeding wrists even though he was still missing his hands. Taeko sees Chiaki and gestures her closer. "Get over here! I'll heal you!" She exclaimed. Chiaki limps closer to Taeko.

"What do you mean!?" Taeko asked before looking at her, gasping at the sight.
Even in your situation... you would still try to protect someone?
Taeko had tears leaking out of her eyes. "No... I... I promised Sayaka I... would save those that save us..." She let out in devastation, her hand over her mouth.
Chiaki gave a tearful smile of her own. "It's okay... We can't... all be... heroes..."
Of course... Because I love... all of my classmates...

Chiaki struggles to breathe, much less stand, before she starts falling onto her back.
One... One more time... I wanted... to play video games... with you...
Consciousness disabled.
Am I... dead again...?
Chiaki moaned as she sat up. "Easy there, go-getter." She heard before she looks to the side and saw another female Quincy. This one is a slender young girl with long, straight, dark brown hair and brown eyes. Her attire is a variation of the Sternritter's typical white uniform, consisting of the order's signature hooded cloak, a thigh-length trench coat, knee-high boots, a miniskirt, and black stockings with a red trim on her gloves and boots. She wears a red heart-shaped belt buckle and a white cap with gold trimmings, which features a black peak and the Wandenreich insignia emblazoned on its front.

You have fully rested. Your HP and RP have been fully restored.
"That Hollow was something else and you managed to kill it. Good job. Course, I would've killed it myself right away." The gal boasted. Chiaki looked at her intently.

"...I can't deny that." Chiaki said before she lied on her back. "So... I'm back in Silbern..."
"Actually, you're in the real world hospital." Bambietta corrected. "Oh, a friend of mine, Lil, you might know her as Liltotto, managed to convince the guys with you to bring you here. You might wanna thank her while you've got the chance."
"I'll be sure to do that." Chiaki nodded. "So... Why are you here? I didn't see you among the other Quincies."
"Lil called me. She said that you've got something to... unpack. Told me I'd be doing both you and her a favor and that both of you would owe me one."
"This is just me going off first impressions, but... that seems unlike her."
"Yeah. Whatever you did during that fight made an impression on Bazz-B and the others, I guess."
"If you don't mind, I'd like to wait until everyone else is with us." Chiaki asked of Bambietta.
"Sure. Doesn't matter to me." Bambietta huffed. With that said...
"Stat Adjustment Screen..." Chiaki whispered to herself.

She pushed Y and feels stronger once again. She then sits up. "Hey! Rest up! You were poisoned by that Hollow!" Bambietta demanded.
"...I don't feel poisoned." Chiaki pointed out as she hopped off the bed and stood up.
"How the hell not!? Didn't the Hollow enter your body at any point?"
"...Twice."
"TWICE!? HOW THE HELL DID YOU LIVE THROUGH IT EVEN ONCE!?"
"Well, the first time was because of that Shinigami, Taeko. The second time was after I killed the Hollow."
"...I guess that's why you made an impression, huh...?" Bambietta scratched her head. "You were able to survive a Hollow's poison somehow..."
"...Sorry for getting poisoned..."
"You survived. That's all that matters right now."
"Still, I feel fine after a good long rest. You could say that my Health and Reishi Points are fully replenished."
"Pfft. Sure. C'mon. The others are waiting." Bambietta urged as she and Chiaki start walking out of the hospital. "And... I guess not all Shinigami are bad. Either that, or they didn't know the bad blood between our two races."
"Even if they did, I'm sure they wouldn't care. They helped me out, so I'm sure that the two races can reconcile someday." Chiaki had faith. "After all, I don't care if there was bad blood either." She continued.
"Heh..." Bambietta huffed. "Wouldn't that be wonderful...?" She mumbled as the two leave the hospital.

"You recovered faster than I thought, Chiaki."
Chiaki looked past Bambietta and saw Liltotto again. "Liltotto..." She called. "I just... wanted to say thank you."
"Don't mention it. Seriously." Liltotto huffed. "Now, come on. Everyone's dying to hear the story."
"Right..." Chiaki nodded as she walked over and saw Bazz-B, Robert, and Berenice waiting for her.
"There's our rookie superstar." Bazz-B spotted.
"How did you resist the poison of that Hollow? Give me a proper answer, or I will object to your false answer!" Berenice demanded.
"Um..." Chiaki let out.
"You need not answer him." Robert assured. "But I do believe you have something to tell us, yes?"
"...I do. Let me tell you a story. ...The story... of my death." Chiaki said. "There once was a girl who was born with a talent for video games. She was crowned the Ultimate Gamer. A talented person that is very good at any game, and even plays the "crappy" ones. She always finds out how to enjoy any genre or game that she plays. She states that the sole goal of playing video games is to have fun, and not to just focus on winning or losing." She began.
"She attended Hope's Peak Academy in pursuit of graduating. In pursuit of a happy life of success and fulfillment. Unfortunately, she always saw her talent and hobby as a hinderance. She didn't think much of her talent. In fact, she disliked it, believing that her love for gaming will not help her gain any friends. When her teacher tells her that she can make friends by playing her games with them, she opened up more to those around her and started taking part in group activities."
"That girl... was you, wasn't it?" Liltotto made an educated guess.
"How would you know that?" Chiaki asked.
"Most stories that begin with "There once was a" tend to be about the person telling the story." Liltotto answered.
"...Well, I guess you're not wrong." Chiaki shrugged. "Anyway, I was even chosen as the class representative, even though I was reluctant to do it. But everyone in my class was happy about it... so I became the class representative. I've learned to care for all my classmates despite their own faults, and became very protective of them. Many of my beliefs have actually been influenced by my teacher, Ms. Yukizome."
"But I'm just beating around the bush, sorry. Eventually, two new girls came to Hope's Peak Academy. They were known as Mukuro Ikusaba... ...and Junko Enoshima." Chiaki hesitantly stated the latter's name. "The latter would influence the despair in Hope's Peak Academy and turn it into the most ironically named school in the world."
"What'd she do? Bully all the students and teachers with her "beating people up" talent? Like she's the Ultimate Bully or something?" Bambietta guessed.
"I wish that's what her Ultimate talent was. No. Her talent was the Ultimate Analyst which later evolved into the Ultimate Despair." Chiaki corrected. "She used that talent to influence this boy I liked, named Hajime Hinata, who at the time was called Izuru Kamukura, to her side. Once she did, she trapped my friends and locked them in a room where they were being hypnotized and forced to watch me die. But before watched my execution, Junko did one more thing that made me hate her. That was to hypnotize my teacher and influence her to take me to my own execution."
"...Holy shit." Bazz-B huffed.
"My dear, that must've been heartbreaking..." Robert said in sympathy.
"That sick, vindictive bitch..." Liltotto growled.
"She got her comeuppance, but... not without a lot of people's lives lost. But before those lives were lost, mine was the first to go, as far as I knew. She had me trapped in a dungeon where I had to react quickly in order to survive. Just when I had thought I reached a way out, there was one final trap. And that trap ended my life, and sealed the fate of Hope's Peak Academy." Chiaki finished the story of her death.
"And so you wandered the earth as a spirit, waiting for Junko Enoshima to bite it." Bazz-B said.
"Every last bit of her despair, actually. And with it gone, I looked for a way to pass on. That was when I first saw a Hollow. I ran away from it hoping to live, but then I tripped. I thought I would die again, but then His Majesty saved me." Chiaki continued with her overall story.
"And that's when he gave you Quincy powers?" Bambietta asked Chiaki nodded. She looks at the school she attended.
"I lived a good life. I loved, I laughed, I played... I miss that life... but I can't go back to it. I know I can't go back to it..." Chiaki teared up. "Otherwise, who knows what could happen?"
The Quincies looked at her in sympathy. "Let's find a way to cheer you up, rookie. C'mon." Bazz-B said to her, going on ahead with everyone following him, including Chiaki.

It's a shame that I had to use most of my coins that I've been saving up for a good weapon to buy something that would cheer me up, but... oh well. I'm just glad everyone made me happy and I could make them happy in return. I'm also glad I got a little closer to them as a result. My journey to become Sternritter may not be an easy one, but I'm sure I'll make it. After all, with friends like these giving me hope, I'll never fall to despair again.
With her head held high, she sees that it's already nighttime. "Oh... I guess I'll set up my gaming stuff tomorrow." Chiaki sighed before yawning. "It's been a long day..."
With that said, she lies on her bed, closes her eyes, and goes to sleep.
"And you're sure about this?"
"Desparingly positive, Lord Aizen~!"
"We would never think of deceiving you, Our Lord."
Three individuals, a male Shinigami with slicked back brown hair, and two human-sized female Hollows were seen. One of the female Hollows has a tall, dramatic hourglass figure, light blue eyes, and long, thick, bleached strawberry-blonde hair tied in two twin pigtails. The other is just as tall and she has purple-grey eyes as well as short black hair. The two wore uniforms that were black on one side and white on the other, their legs and respective right and left normal looking arms were covered in white Hollow-like bones, their left and right arms having a cheetah-like and wolf-like appearance respectively. They were in a wasteland with gray sand, a black sky, and a white moon in said sky.
"I swear on all that is despair that she survived our experiment's poison!" The blonde Hollow exclaimed.
"She should have never stood a chance... but she did. It seems we must make a stronger poison-"
"No. What you have is fine." Their Lord Aizen declared, interrupting the black haired Hollow. "This changes nothing."
"Not that I doubt you, but how can you be sure, Lord?" The black haired Hollow asked.
"She will die either way. By your hands or another's makes no difference. My plan is still coming to fruition. Everything that happens up until a certain point is what I have planned, Mukuro."
"So then, where do Big Sis Junko and I come in?" Mukuro asked.
"If you behave and do nothing, you will both become Arrancar." Aizen answered.
"And that is?"
"A level beyond a Vasto Lorde. Beyond the level you are at now."
"Ooh, sounds like we'll have a lot more fun~ ...But being here is so boring..." Junko sighed.
"If you must find something, why don't you find the other Vasto Lordes to play or train with? I'm sure they would... "appreciate" your company." Aizen chuckled.
"As you wish, Lord."
"Sure thing~"
With that, Aizen was gone.
"We'll be sure to take our time, taking away the hope of the Shinigami and the Quincies while we wait for your plan to come to fruition~" Junko declared, her smile shaped like a crescent moon's pointy ends pointing upwards, thin black vertical lines with white rectangles counting as her teeth as she laughed: "Upupupupupupupu~!"
