Cheers and screams were heard as a newly married couple was about to leave a certain place where a wedding party happened. Hermione Granger has just married her school crush Ronald Weasley after five years of dating.
The party has been a success, there hasn't been any incident, and it makes sense considering that the threat that they've been fearing is long gone, and the one who took care of that threat is on the other side of the party watching the couple with a smile on his face before he approached them.
Harry James Potter, the hero of the wizarding world got close to the couple to congratulate them and wish them a happy honeymoon, they were his best friends who had just gotten married after all, so he felt obligated to escort them outside before they apparated away from here.
The three of them had been together since they were eleven, and more than ten years had passed since that day, Harry couldn't help but walk towards the bar to get a drink as he thought about all the moments he shared with the newlywed couple.
He can't help but smile as he thinks about their adventures at Hogwarts, their shenanigans, the fights, the misunderstandings, the bittersweet memories, the good ones, the loss of important people in their lives during the war and the aftermath of the war after Harry defeated the most powerful wizard in decades.
After the war, Harry isolated himself from the world and he took the opportunity to write about his real life to debunk the lies and myths that have been surrounding him, he has written three auto-biographic books and there are more on the way and it's surprising to see that the general public still liked him even after knowing more about his human side.
Harry was too immersed in his thoughts that he didn't realize someone approached him until this person filled his glass with more whisky, he was a little confused and he seemed ready to politely tell this person to get away from there, but once he saw who poured more of the delicious liquid on his glass, he couldn't help but smile.
"Mrs. Granger!" Harry said with a surprised expression.
The older woman in front of him formed a soft smile on her face, contrary to his simple black suit, she was wearing a red tight dress that ended just a little above her knees, she's also wearing a pair of red high heels, her dark hair and blue eyes really make her look stunning, that's something he can't deny and even though she's not a magical person, despite the fact of her being close to her fifties, she still has a nice slender figure.
"Please Harry… Call me Emma," the older woman said with a smile on her face before placing a hand over his own.
Harry felt so stupid right now, this wasn't the first time he had ever spoken with her, after all, he accompanied Hermione to the muggle world when she had to get her parents back from Australia, sadly for Ron, Harry was one of the few magical people in their circle who knew about the muggle world and the redhead was grieving at the time so he didn't accompany them to Australia.
It was a tragedy that when they found the couple in another country, Hermione's dad somehow died while she was fighting a war, Hermione had to be strong not only for herself but also for her mother and she never left her mother's side and little by little the woman got better there was no better proof to that statement than seeing the way she looks now compared to the gloom figure they encountered back in Australia for the first time after the war.
Of course, it won't be the last time Harry would see her, back then he used to date Hermione's new sister-in-law: Ginny Weasley. However, that relationship didn't last for too long as the redhead seemed to want a more adventurous life when she was not in her professional quidditch team, she wanted to travel, she wanted to see the world, meet different creatures and places, and Harry just wanted to be secluded in his home like a hermit, so, the breakup was unavoidable, that was a few months ago but it seems like she already moved on considering she's kissing and older woman while they were dancing.
However, before he and Ginny broke up, Harry had to attend the gatherings of the Weasley family on Sundays, that's the place where Harry got to know Hermione's mother better, and it was easy for them to get along as Harry was raised like a muggle for a few years, however, they weren't that close during those days.
But after he broke up with Ginny, it wasn't weird for him to visit not only Mrs. Granger's home in London, he also visited her dental clinic, they also started to go together to the gym not only because he liked being with her but also because this helped him to relieve that feeling he sometimes longed for when he remembers his days as a muggle, not living with his uncles of course but the thing he misses the most is being an unknown person, a random individual, another number on the list that would never get the attention he gets in places like Hogsmeade or Diagon Alley to name a few.
Just a few days ago the older woman had told him to call her by her name, however, it was still kind of weird for the younger man to call an adult person by their name.
"Sorry Emma… It's still weird for me to call you by your name," Harry said a little embarrassed before sipping some of his drink.
"Why is that? Is my name that ugly?" Asked the older woman before taking a sip from her drink too.
"What? No, of course not, it's a beautiful name, just like you," Harry suddenly said trying to not make her misunderstand what he meant.
He knew that there was nothing worse than making a woman feel old and ugly, but he forgot that calling Mrs. Granger could make her feel older than she was, so, to avoid that he preferred to play along with her wishes.
"Beautiful? Me? That's a good one," she chuckled after she said those words.
"I'm not kidding… You look stunning today Emma, seriously, I'm sure you caught the attention of many of the older and attractive wizards here," Harry said as he looked to the other side of the saloon where one unknown wizard around her age seemed to be looking in their direction.
Emma looked around before she smiled.
"Those wizards are not bad looking I guess but, I don't think I'm ready to date again," she said in a tone full of melancholy and Harry knew why.
He didn't say anything, he just held her hand gently, and with this, he earned a smile from her.
"The important question should be… Why are you alone? I'm sure the hero of the wizarding world could get any woman in the world if he wanted to," the older woman said calmly and Harry couldn't help but smile.
"Yeah, there's not a shortage of candidates, however, I'm not interested in that right now, I haven't found any interesting woman to date ever since I broke up with Ginny," Harry took a sip of his drink again.
"Then it makes sense that you're alone, I guess there's a lot of women who are after you only for your fame and glory," she said casually and Harry agreed with her.
"Yes, there's no shortage of those types of women in my life," Harry said a little disappointed and she chuckled.
They remained like that for a few moments, their hands still connected while they were sharing a drink in silence, it took them only a few moments to finish the bottle.
"That was a good drink," said the older woman completely satisfied, Harry was surprised to see that she wasn't that bad at handling alcohol.
"What is it?" She asked with a smile on her face seeing that he was so fixated on her that it was making her feel a little embarrassed.
"Nothing, it's just that… Your drinking skills are interesting," he chuckled and she smirked.
"Trust me, I wish I didn't have this skill, but it's something that you're forced to learn in college, trust me, the alcohol scene is crazy, especially in British universities," she chuckled as she remembered those party days but especially the days with her husband while they were dating back in college.
It didn't take too long for some tears to leak from her eyes while she was smiling, Harry didn't hesitate and quickly embraced her to comfort her and they were like for a few minutes until she felt that she let out enough tears.
"I-I'm sorry it's just that… Seeing Hermione so happy after marrying the love of her life brought back some memories of me and her father," she confessed in a sad tone and Harry nodded.
"You did a good job with her Emma, and also Jean too, both of you did great as parents," Harry felt a little lost right now as he never had parents so he didn't know what makes parents deserve the title of 'good parents'.
She nodded and remained silent for a few moments while Harry continued embracing her.
"He would've been so proud today," she added and Harry nodded.
"Yes, he would've been proud, indeed," he agreed with her. "He would've been so proud of you two actually," Harry told her and this made the older woman take a look at him with a confused expression.
"You think so?" It seems like she has a lot of doubts in her mind right now, and it makes sense.
"Of course… I know that if I was in him I would've been so proud of your progress right now," Harry confessed and she remained thoughtful for a few moments.
"Progress?" The younger man was surprised she could ask that when it was more than evident her progress.
"Yes, look at you… Not only you have managed to get your business back to how it was before your memories were erased," she nodded as he started. "Don't forget that you're not the same mess you were when we found you and also, you've been working out like crazy, after all, we've been going to the gym together," Harry added and she couldn't help but blush.
Harry was smiling, he didn't know if she was smiling because he was complimenting her for her improved self-esteem or if she was smiling because of her physical progress, it didn't matter anyway, Harry was more than happy to help the older woman, and now that her daughter married Ron, she was going to need someone to visit her so, someone like her shouldn't be alone.
"Harry… Do you think I'm attractive?" She suddenly dropped a question he wasn't expecting.
Now that Harry thought about it, he had been staring at her the entire day, from the wedding ceremony to the party, they even danced together with their bodies practically glued to each other.
He was trying to deny what she implied with that question, he knew he couldn't think of her like that, after all, she was his best friend's mother, and even if Hermione was a woman she was still his best friend at the end of the day even above Ron, she had saved and helped him multiple times, it didn't make sense to him to feel like that towards Hermione's mother.
"Harry?" She asked once again with a soft smile on her face.
Harry gulped, she knew what he was thinking, it had been difficult for him to keep this to himself considering they spent a lot of time together, especially in the gym where she usually wore some tight clothes that barely hid her amazing figure, he tried to ignore it but he could swear that sometimes she wanted him to see those parts of her body, and he was about to say something but the bartender suddenly interrupted him.
"Uh… I'm sorry but we're about to close," said the bartender, the party was over and Harry didn't know if he should feel grateful or angry with him.
"Ah, such a shame," the older woman smiled weakly at him before she left his side, Harry couldn't help but look at her.
"Emma, wait!" Harry stopped her.
"Yes, Harry?" Emma asked calmly.
"I know it's crowded back in the burrow, so, why don't you stay at my house? There's plenty of space in my place," Harry felt like crazy for suggesting that.
He was so nervous previously when she asked him if he thought she was attractive, and now he was practically begging her to spend more time with him after such a heated talk.
"Sure… Why not? What could go wrong?" Emma asked before she smirked.
Harry couldn't believe she accepted, he was trying to calm himself as he didn't want to misunderstand her intentions, but still, that didn't stop his heart from beating faster than it was already.
