They were traveling for a couple days now since they had that big horse race over in Fent.

So far, it was smooth traveling. They haven't seen any of Urko's troops. But they still stayed vigilant like always. Because you could never be too sure.

Though Pete, still can't get one thought out of his mind. He wondered what Barlow meant when he said Galen and Kristin were welcome to live in Kaymac with him.

While Alan said, to give it time, and they will eventually tell them, Pete was curious as to what he meant.

A part of him still wanted to bring it up and ask the pair. Did they plan on leaving them? He hoped that wasn't the case. They have all become quite close and come so far as good friends.

He certainly didn't want their group to separate. But Pete also knew it wasn't his decision to make. It was theirs.

Still, he wanted to know. Surely, it wouldn't hurt to ask, would it? He kept looking back at the pair traveling behind him. They along with Alan were all conversing back and forth. Galen and Kristin still had ahold of each other's hands as they walked and talked.

"Hey, I don't mean to bring it up. But I kind of want to know. What did Barlow mean when he said you two could come and live at Kaymac?" Pete finally asked, cutting into the conversation.

They were silent for a moment. Kristin and Galen shared a glance with each other, before turning to face their two best friends.

"Remember, when Barlow told me to stay behind in his office that one time while you and Kristin walked ahead to get started on those traps for the race?" Galen inquired.

"Yeah, what about it. Just what did he say?" Pete asked, still curious and wanting to know.

"Pete, I still say it's none of our business." Alan said, with a sigh.

"No, it's ok, Alan. Believe me though, I was rather shocked when Galen told me what transpired there." Kristin said.

Galen then started explaining the whole story from start to finish. He explained to them how Barlow found out about him and Kristin. Then from there how it led to learning about how Barlow had a human wife once. To her tragic passing to an ailment and as to why he was very considerate and kind when it came to humans.

At first, the two astronauts were shocked at this revelation. While they knew Barlow seemed to treat humans with more fairness and kindness than most, they still didn't know it was part in due to the fact he was married to a human once.

From there, Galen explained that Barlow understood and was happy for him and Kristin. And told them that when and if they were ready, the pair can come and live at Kaymac. Assuring them they would be safe and unjudged.

"So, in other words, you two plan on leaving us soon?" Pete inquired.

A part of him was sad to even suggest it.

"No, Pete. Yes, it is a nice gesture, and we would love to go. But this journey isn't quite finished yet. Perhaps one day, when it is, we may consider it. In the meantime, we're not leaving you two. You guys are our best friends. We're all in this together, no matter what." Kristin assured them.

"Yes, I agree. We feel there is still so much to do before we even get to that point. Would we like to settle down one day? Yes. But as she said, we will never abandon you two. We're all family here. In this to the end." Galen confirmed.

"Still, no matter what your decision is. We will honor it. If you wish to stay, that is fine. If you wish to leave, that is ok too. No matter what, we will always be friends. And it doesn't mean we wouldn't come by to see you two when we can." Alan told them.

Kristin smiled, Alan and Pete really were the best of friends anyone could ask for. She felt lucky to have them in her life. Even if they all met in very peculiar circumstances. She is still glad to have met them.

They were there with her from the start. Took her in and watched each other's backs. They had hearts of gold and she wished them nothing but true happiness one day.

Just like she found her happiness with Galen.

"Thank you, Alan." Galen said.

"Welcome." He replied.

"And here, we thought you two got tired of us and were looking for a way out." Pete teased.

Though in truth, the dark-haired man was relieved when he heard that his friends were sticking with them. Still, he knows he should also be happy for them if they were to decide to go separate ways. Like Alan said, they can always visit the pair, if they decided to settle down in a village somewhere. Which looks like that somewhere would be Kaymac. A place they were quite familiar with.

"Hardly, though if anything, we thought you'd be relieved to see us go." Galen joked.

"Nah, you guys are highly amusing to be around. You provide us with much needed entertainment. It's also rather cute when you guys are secretly fawning over each other." Pete joked back with a smirk.

The pair blushed at his last remark.

"Can't say we'll miss how embarrassing you can be, Pete." Kristin quipped.

"You forgot charming, great sense of humor, good conversation starter and..."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, quit while you're ahead, buddy. Before your head gets so swollen you'll be dragging it along the ground as you walk." Kristin teased.

Alan and Galen chuckled at her remark.

"Yeah, Pete. And we're not going to help you if your swollen head slows us down." Alan added.

"Wow, thanks, Al." Pete quipped sarcastically.

"Anytime." Alan replied.

They went back and forth with their usual banter, laughing every now and then.

Until the sun went below the tree line and it started getting dark. When it did, they started to look for a place to hunker down for the night. Something that took them a while because the neck of the woods they were in had a lot of dense foliage with hardly any clearings.

After a couple hours, they were able to find an area big enough to accommodate them.

They came across a decent size lake that obviously had enough open area for the small group. Part of the lake was lined with boulders. They went to make camp by one of the large boulders by the water. It had one of the bigger clearings for them to settle at along with a nice view.

"This spot is good enough. Let's stop here for the night." Alan told them.

They agreed, it was a nice size spot. Plus, it had a very nice view of their surroundings.

It was by a very large boulder that must've stretched at least twenty feet high and was around twenty-five feet long. It started at the embankment and stretched pretty far into the water almost like a divider.

"We get a nice view this time too." Kristin says, as she unpacked her stuff.

"Yeah, almost like the same image you would find on a postcard." Pete replied.

For the hell of it, Kristin fished out her phone and took a picture of the view.

Though this wasn't the first time, she did this. She also got pictures at a couple of the waterfalls they camped at in the past. She even got a couple pics with the others in front of it.

A few of those times, Galen was making funny faces like a little kid in the pics. Which made her and the others laugh.

"Making more memories?" Galen inquired.

She pulled her phone down and smiled at him.

"Maybe. They are nice views after all. We may either not see them for a long time, or never again. So, may as well get pics to remember." Kristin replied.

She recalls getting a few pics of her and Galen together. Some of which were very cute.

"This is true." He said, as he came to stand next to her.

"Too bad you can't print those out. Make for one hell of a scrapbook if you could." Pete stated.

She did tell him that her phone can be hooked up to a printer and she could print the pics if she wanted to in her time. He was right. It was a shame she couldn't print some of these pics and frame.

Especially, a few of the ones with her and Galen.

"Yeah, kind of sucks. But at least they are saved on here for the time being. Though the best memories are the ones we hold in our minds." She said.

The others couldn't help but agree with her.

"Well, we have tonight at least. So, let's settle down and make camp." Alan told them.

The group did just that. They made a small fire and settled in around it.

They chatted while they ate some dinner from the provisions they packed a while back. Afterwards, she got in a few song requests and tuned into her iTunes Playlist on her phone.

Alan requested a specific song and she played it for him. No more than a few seconds later, it started playing.

When I was just a little boy
Standin' to my Daddy's knee
My Papa said "Son, don't let the man get you
And do what he done to me?
'Cause he'll get you
'Cause he'll get ya now, now"

Well, I can remember the Fourth of July
Runnin' through the backwood bay
I can still hear my old hound dog barkin'
Chasin' down a hoodoo there
Chasin' down a hoodoo there

"Going old school now, huh, Alan?" Pete teased.

"Why not? I grew up listening to this. And so did you." Alan reminded him.

"It's definitely catchy and has a nice beat. That's why I like it." Kristin added.

"I agree on the catchy part." Galen said.

Born on the bayou
Born on the bayou
Born on the bayou
Lord, Lord

Wish I were back on the bayou
Rollin' with some Cajun Queen
Wish that I were a fast freight train
A-just a-choogling on down to New Orleans

They all conversed as the music played in the background.

The group talked about what may lie ahead for them. Or where they think they may end up next. The anticipation always got to them. They just never knew where this journey may lead them next.

But it made them feel good that they were still making a difference and impact on other people. Both humans and apes alike.

To them, running into whatever issues there were in the last few towns, was almost like a mission accomplished when they solved or fixed them.

Born on the bayou
Born on the bayou
Born on the bayou
Do it, do it, do it, do it

I can remember the Fourth of July
Runnin' through the backwood bay
And I can still hear my old hound dog barkin'
Chasin' down a hoodoo there
Chasin' down a hoodoo there

Born on the bayou
Born on the bayou, Lord, Lord
Born on the bayou
Alright, do
Do it, do it, do it, do it

They started talking again about things from their time periods. Some of their favorite things they like to do and what it was like for them. Everyone had interesting stories to share.

Even Galen had some stories he would share from his youth, growing up with his parents and friends in Central City.

Some of their stories were quite humorous and had them all laughing. This is just one of the many things they all enjoyed when they were able to settle down for the night at the end of the day.

Just talking about themselves and sharing interesting or humorous stories. In a way, it lifted their spirits and reminded them that they could still have stories to tell. New memories to make.

They all shared favorite moments, favorite hobbies, and songs.

Until the hours of the night started getting late. Then they started to settle in. Alan and Pete eventually found themselves drifting off to sleep.

Which left only Galen and Kristin awake.

"So, you still have yet to share what your favorite song is on this phone." He pointed out.

"Hard to say, I have a few. One of which is the song we first slow danced to a while back. 'Full of Grace' by Sarah McLachlan. Though another does come to mind." She says.

"Oh, which one? Hopefully it's not something crazy with a lot of cursing and vulgarity like some of the songs on there." He teased.

Kristin rolls her eyes, then goes back into her favorites playlist and scrolls down to the song she is looking for. Then she hits play.

Just one step at a time,
And closer to destiny.
I knew at a glance,
There would always be a chance for me.
With someone I could live for;
Nowhere I would rather be.

Is your love strong enough,
Like a rock in the sea?
Am I asking too much?
Is your love strong enough?

It had a nice and steady melody to it, he thought. The singer had a distinctive voice too. He thought.

Just one beat of your heart,
And stranger than fantasy.
I knew from the start,
It had to be the place for me.
Someone that I would die for;
There's no way I could ever leave.

Is your love strong enough,
Like a rock in the sea?
Am I asking too much?
Is your love strong enough?
Is your love strong enough?

Is your love strong enough?
Just one beat of your heart.
Is your love strong enough?

Is your love strong enough?
Just one beat...

It ended after a few short minutes. But it was a rather lovely song that sounded like it was full of meaning. Galen could see why she liked it. Even he will admit he liked it too. It almost symbolized the love they had for each other. How strong and unwavering it was.

"So, where do you think we'll end up next?" She asks.

Galen shrugs, "I don't know. But wherever it may be, we are bound to hit some problems one way or another. Or at least that's how it's always been in the past. Hopefully, they are problems we can keep figuring out to fix."

She gives him a small smile.

"I like to think we can and always will. One way or another." Kristin told him.

Galen gave her a soft smile. Then he leaned in to kiss her.

She met him halfway and pressed her lips to his. He slowly wrapped his arms around her and pulled her in closer. Kristin wrapped her arms around his neck as they made out by the dying fire.

He parted his lips, and her tongue entered his mouth. He let out an inaudible groan as their hearts raced. Their tongues caressed each other and battled for dominance.

It was getting pretty heated and quick. Until the sudden movement by one of their friends turning over in their sleep, made them quickly pull apart.

Funny, how even though their friends know, the pair don't display their affection right out in front of them. At least nothing more than holding hands or sharing hugs.

"While we're here, I've been meaning to take a bath. Might as well get one in before we leave in the morning." She told him.

"Have fun with that." He says, with a smirk.

"Yeah, thanks. Even I don't care to admit that the stench of my B.O. is starting to get to me. So, I'm going to go take advantage of the water while here." Kristin stated.

Then she got up and started to walk away.

She went back along the embankment and went around the large boulder for privacy in case Alan or Pete woke up at some point. The boulder was more than big enough to give her the privacy she needed.

Kristin stopped several feet from the water's edge and started shedding her clothes.

It was quite warm and humid out. So, the weather was very comfortable. Once she finished, she folded her clothes and placed them on a small, nearby rock. She put her sneakers next to the pile of folded up clothes too.

Then she slowly made her way to the water.

Like many of the lakes and streams around here, the freshwater had a bit of a nippy chill to it. The sudden temperature change made her skin erupt into goosebumps.

But after a couple minutes, she was able to adjust to the temperature. She slowly started making her way into deeper water.

Kristin stopped when the water came up to her shoulders. She closed her eyes and leaned back a little with a small sigh. It may have been a little cold, but it was soothing.

It was like she can also feel the few days' worth of grim washing off of her and it started to make her feel clean again.

The moon was not completely full. But full enough to cast a pale light on the earth's surface. She floated on her back while looking up at it. Her mind beginning to wander to places.

Within this time, she didn't realize there was someone idling by the water line watching her.

His dark eyes watched her as she floated like some ethereal beauty on the water without a care in the world. Then he watched as she paused and stood back up in the water.

She ran her hands through her wet hair, pushing it back.

"Well, you certainly seem to be enjoying yourself." Galen said.

She was barely ten feet from the water's edge and heard him loud and clear. Kristin smiled as she turned her gaze towards him.

"I'd enjoy it more, if I weren't alone." Kristin told him.

Though, she knew he may not go for it. Seeing as he's not fond of the water.

Galen tilted his head a little and wrinkled his nose. Then a smile slowly crept onto his face. In a way, he knew she was somewhat teasing him.

He saw it when she moved in a little closer to shore and the water level sunk down to right below her breasts.

Galen saw how beads of water rolled down her shoulders and over her chest. How the coolness of the water made her soft, pink nipples erect.

The longer he watched her, the more he started to feel himself growing hard beneath his pants.

Kristin drew a little closer, until she was only about five feet away. Then as he eyed her and she saw his eyes glaze over a little in rust, she pulled back a little again.

He arched a brow at this and all she did was smile.

She probably thought he may not have the guts to come into the water with her. But as he stood there watching her on display for him, his instincts were starting to override his distaste for deep water.

"You really won't come any further unless I join you in there, aren't you?" He inquired.

"Yep." She says, as she kept her eyes on him.

Kristin leaned back to float on her back again, putting her whole body on display for him.

She must've been laying there for only about a minute, when she heard and felt a disturbance in the water from her right, coming closer to her from the shore.

Then she felt a wet hand lightly graze the skin of her stomach.

Kristin opened her eyes, and a soft smile came to her face when she noted Galen had actually come into the water to be with her.

He smiled back. She noted he had stripped completely and was now standing over her as she floated. Kristin laid there for several more seconds before she stood up to face him.

She placed her hands on his shoulders, and he pulled her in close to him.

He rested his forehead against hers as he held her close. They spent this time enjoying each other's company and the rare alone time they had.

Kristin brought her hand around to cup his cheek.

Galen then leaned in, closing the distance to press his lips against hers in a searing kiss. Her chest pressed firmly against his as they deepened the kiss.

They must've spent the next few minutes in the water making out, just continuing to work each other up.

He let out a small groan when she rubbed her body against him. She felt him starting to get hard as his growing erection was pressed between their bodies.

Kristin reached down between them while they were kissing, and lightly grasped his length and started to slowly pump it.

His hips twitched and jerk as she did this. His breathing became a little labored. Galen pressed his face into the crook of her neck and started placing light kisses there making her gasp.

He then wrapped her legs around his waist and held them, before pulling her in for another kiss. Then he began carrying her like that back to shore.

Once there, he laid her down beneath him on the soft sand like soil.

Galen pulled back to look down at her. Then he started placing more kisses along her neck down to her shoulder. He then started to drag his mouth further down.

Her head tilted back into the ground and her mouth dropped open with a small moan as his lips closed around a nipple.

He pulled the small bud into his mouth, making her writhe beneath him. She had to clench her mouth shut to keep any loud moans from leaving her, less she wants to wake the others on the other side of the boulder.

Kristin let out a sharp gasp and her hips bucked when he suckled it.

She grasped his sides gripping them as he did this, and she felt herself getting more wet by the minute. Then she started rubbing her lower half to his making him groan.

He pulled his mouth away from the stiff bud before going back up to press his mouth against hers. Then he started rubbing his erection against her mound, making the moan at the contact.

When they felt like they had enough, he grasped his length and lined it up with her wet opening. His gaze locked onto hers, as he slowly started to sink into her.

Kristin wrapped her legs around his hips and shoved her hips up to meet his, pulling him in deeper.

He groaned when she did this then ground his erection hard into her core making her let out a shaky moan. Before she pulled him in for another deep kiss.

Galen started to slowly pump into her, setting a steady pace and rhythm. Despite being a novice when it came to sex, things seemed to work out for the better when he let his primal instincts take over.

He kept it slow at first, letting them enjoy feeling every dip and curve as he filled her.

Kristin started lightly running her nails up and down his back. This seemed to spur him up a bit and he started to steadily speed up his pace.

She arched her back and gripped his fur as he pumped into her a little harder and faster.

Galen wrapped his arms around her and spread his thighs. Then he started to really speed up and strengthen his thrusts. To the pace they both really enjoyed.

Once more she buried her face into the side of his neck to muffle her moans as he pumped into her hard and fast.

He pressed his muzzle into the side of her head to muffle his groans at the wonderful sensations he was feeling. At the same time, he felt his prick beginning to swell and started to feel her flutter around him.

Galen gave a couple more jerky, hard thrusts before he had them toppling over the edge.

They muffled each other's moans as their release hit. Her opening tightened and flexed around him like a vice. While he continued releasing his hot and sticky release into her in thick spurts, filling her up.

He continued lazily thrusting into her until he was completely spent.

Afterwards, they slowed to a stop, panting like crazy. He gave her a small kiss on her forehead. Before he slowly started retracting his softening length from her channel.

When he did, he laid beside her on the sandy bank. The pale moonlight basking their glistening bodies in a soft glow.

Kristin shifted onto her side and rested her cheek against his right peck as he wrapped his arms around her. they laid there just catching their breath and relaxing.

"Not sure, I'll be able to move for a little while." He told her.

His remark made her let out a soft chuckle. Then she pressed a soft kiss to his chest.

"That makes two of us. Still, we can't fall asleep here like this. Don't want to give Alan and Pete a heart attack if they find us like this in the morning." She joked.

She felt his chest go up and down rapidly as he let out a chuckle.

"No, they would probably need...what do you call it again? Therapy? Yes, that, if they saw us lying here with nothing on." He teased.

"Most likely, yeah. They probably wouldn't be able to look at us afterwards. Not without feeling embarrassed or mortified." She added.

They laid there only a little longer, enjoying their time like this, since it's not very often at all they get to be like this. This had to be only the second time they were able to make love.

So, they wanted to make every moment last while they could. Before dressing and going back around the boulder to rest with their friends.

It must've been about ten to fifteen minutes before they reluctantly got up and started to dress.

Afterwards he wrapped an arm around her shoulders and gave her a small kiss before they walked back around the boulder and back to their camp.

The fire was completely out now, only belowing some smoke.

The couple pulled out their blankets and laid down close to one another. As always, Kristin curled up into his front and pressed her cheek against his chest. While he wrapped his arms around her and rested his chin on top of her of head.

"Goodnight, Love." Galen whispered.

"Goodnight, love you." She replied.

They both fell asleep shortly afterwards.

The group slept solidly through the night. Something they all needed after a long day's trek through the woods. Just so they can have enough energy to make it through the next day.

Until Next Time ;)
