Chapter 2: Dare to play (2):
Nancy's POV:
According to Archie, he woke up next to Jason's body. A witness took a picture of him near it and the Police are taking him in for questioning.
. . .
"I'm as confused as you are," says Archie.
"Mr. Andrews, I'm Brenda Carlton, of the Daily CW and I have some questions..."
"My client will not be answering any questions." My Dad agreed to defend Archie.
. . .
I had a meeting with my friends. "So, here's..." I started.
"Yes," they all said.
"Yes what," I asked.
"We know you want us to help solve the mystery," says Ned.
"Not that we're glad that someone died..." says George.
"But we were hoping you would ask us," says Bess.
"Thanks," I said, "now, have you known Archie long enough to do this?"
"He's not really the type," says Ned.
"Jason's more likely to want Archie dead," says George, "he kind of had a thing for Betty."
"But there is a guy who didn't get along with Jason," says Bess.
"Then let's go," Shaun showed up.
"UUUUUUUUUhhhhhhhhh... sorry, Shaun, but maybe you should leave this to us," I said.
"But..." Shaun begins.
"It's too dangerous," I said.
"Fine, but let me know if you need help," says Shaun.
. . .
We then had a talk with Reggie Mantle, Cheryl's boyfriend.
"Yeah, Jason and me never saw eye-to-eye," says Reggie, "but I wouldn't kill him!"
"Why didn't you two get along," I asked.
"For some reason, the Blossoms didn't think I was good enough for Cheryl," says Reggie. He then gives us a reason to see why.
"Right," I said, "do you know anyone else who could've?"
"Well... there is one person... Dead Lucy!" Then there was dramatic music. "Dad, can you turn that radio down? I'm being interrogated!"
"Dead Lucy," I asked, "I'm afraid to ask, but what?"
"She's a ghost that haunts this town and no one knows how she died," says Reggie. The dramatic music played again. "Dad, just turn the radio off!"
"Thank you for your time," I said.
We then exited the room.
. . .
"Well, he was helpful," says Bess.
"I still don't like the look of his eyes," says George.
"Keep him on the suspect list," asks Ned.
"Oh yeah," I said.
"And what if he's telling the truth about, you know, Dead Lucy," asks Bess.
The dramatic music plays again. I looked and the radio is off. "Let's get out of here," I said.
. . .
I take a look at the area where Jason's body was found.
"This is all my fault," says a guy with a hat.
"Excuse me," I asked.
"I'm the witness and because I opened my big mouth, Archie's gonna be in jail for way too long!"
"Can you tell me what you saw," I asked.
"I thought I saw Archie looking over a dead body, but I didn't know he woke up next to it!"
"Who did you tell this to, the Police," I asked.
"Actually, a reporter, but I think she told the cops. By the way, I'm Jughead Jones."
"Well, Jughead, I think Archie might be innocent. I just need to learn more about your story." I then looked and saw the mystery girl with her cat. "Hey... uuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhh... was Dead Lucy a blonde?"
"You believe in that Dead Lucy stuff," asks Jughead, "also, no."
I saw and they were gone again.
. . .
Jughead told me everything and I think I have what I need. I walked over to a house, and I knocked on the door.
"Yes," asks Brenda Carlton.
"I'd like to come in," I said, "to talk about how you killed Jason Blossom."
. . .
"I'm sorry, you think I did it," asks Brenda, "I never even knew the boy."
"No, but you would do anything for a story and murders are surprisingly popular," I said, "so you picked some random victim, a random scapegoat, and a random witness. You killed the first person to come by your hiding spot and knocked out whoever sat on the bench and dragged him to the body and hoped that someone would find Archie looking over Jason's body. It was all luck."
"That's an interesting story," says Brenda, "but what makes you think it was me?"
"The fact that Jughead found a convenient reporter to talk to," I said.
"I was in the area," says Brenda, "you can't prove anything!" She's right about that. "But just to be safe..." She then knocks me out.
. . .
I woke up in a basement. Probably Brenda's.
"Sorry, but I can't risk you blabbing," says Brenda.
Now I'm going to need to find a way out. I started searching, but then a breeze came by, and it opened a book. I then opened it and found a picture of Dead Lucy. There was something familiar about her. Then that breeze led me to a key. I then grabbed it.
. . .
Now that I was out, there was still one thing I had to take care of...
Brenda's POV:
I needed another story. What if it turns out, there's a serial killer on the loose. I then saw someone. I was about to strike, but then he turned around.
"Hey, I'm Ned."
The police all came out. It was a set-up.
Nancy's POV:
Archie's set free and Brenda Carlton's in jail.
"So, how did you get out," asks Ned.
"That's the weird thing," I said," I don't know."
"Hey, name's Chuck Clayton. Heard you helped Archie out. Glad you did."
I looked at him and blushed.
Sabrina's POV:
"Are we done playing phantom," asks Salem.
"Sorry," I said, "but I'm so sure it's her. I mean, I didn't help her, so who do you think did?"
"So, what do we do," asks Salem.
"We keep watching her like creepy people," I said.
"Yeah... that's not gonna get you arrested and me in the pound," says Salem.
Nancy just gotten some help from some... thing. Nancy also takes the place of Nancy Woods in the Ultimate Advanceverse. In the next chapter, Nancy meets Nicky Shen. If you're wondering why the relationships are different from in Justice League Advance, remember, the Crisis changes things.
