Chapter 6: Katy Keene:
Nancy's POV:
It was a typical day at Pop's. Then someone came to our table.
"Hi, I'm Katy Keene, can I sit with you guys?"
We all started to speak, but too late, she moved Ned and Shaun over.
"This doesn't feel rude at all," says Shaun.
"Hi... girl we don't even know," says George.
"I'm gonna cut to the chase," says Katy, "Nancy Drew?"
"That's me," I said.
"I thought so," says Katy, "listen, you know my boyfriend, KO Kelly?"
"I've seen him," says Ned, "that guy is tough."
"Someone killed him," says Katy, "and I need your help to find out who."
"Got it," I said.
. . .
Katy takes me to KO's house where it happened.
"Here's my guess," I said, "someone knocked on the door and KO knew this person, so he was polite enough to let them in, but I still need to know who, how, and the motive."
"KO has always wanted to be a boxer," says Katy.
"How'bout you? Do you have any dreams?"
"To be a fashion designer," says Katy.
"Has KO ever picked a fight with anyone," I asked.
"There is one person," says Katy.
. . .
"This has to be the second time I was a suspect," says Reggie.
"What was your fight with KO about," I asked.
"It wasn't really a fight," says Reggie, "it was more like he was kicking my butt."
"Why," I asked.
"I'm not gonna lie about a dead man," says Reggie, "but don't tell Cheryl. I, kind of, was hitting on Katy."
"He was," says an angry Katy.
"You realize stuff like this is why not a lot of people like you, right," I asked.
"You're not wrong," says Reggie, "look, after I heard what happened, I'm really not proud of myself. But I promise, I did not kill him!"
"I'll take your word for now," I said.
. . .
We were walking. "Katy!"
"It's my friend, Xandra Cabot," says Katy.
Xandra then hugs Katy. "I'm so sorry about what happened," says Xandra.
"I wish I knew what happened," says Katy.
"We'll figure it out," I said, "do you have any other ideas?"
"There is this one guy," says Katy, "Nathan Gombet. He was a con artist posing as a fight manager."
"Where do we find this guy," I asked.
. . .
Gombert was talking to Josie and the Pussycats, posing as a music producer.
"... and you could go big, Girls," says Gombert.
"This could be our big break," says Josie.
"We'd like to talk to Mr. Gombert," I said.
We dragged him away.
. . .
"You think I might have killed KO," says Gombert, "one problem, why would I do anything that stupid? I get turned down all the time. You think I wouldn't be used to it by now?"
"Okay, then where were you," I asked.
"I did this one scam where I pretend to marry this rich widow," says Gombert.
"You should be ashamed of yourself," says Katy.
"I am," says Gombert, "I accidently hired a real minister." Gombert then walked away.
"Okay then," I said, "let's get back to the crime scene."

My friends were involved this time.
"Hey, I found something," says Ned, "does KO wear lipstick?"
"The only lipstick I've seen on his face is either mine or from his mother," says Kelly.
"This shade looks very familiar," I said.

We then took it to Dilton to study it.
"I'm no makeup expert," says Dilton, "but I'd say Veronica Lodge uses this shade."
"But Veronica couldn't..." says Katy.
"You did say you wanted to be a fashion designer," I said, "did you get into any kind of fashion war?"
"Yes, but I'm pretty sure she wouldn't result to murder," says Katy.
"I have an idea," I said.

We were watching as the police were taking in Veronica Lodge.
"What's going on," asks Xandra.
"Turns out, Veronica killed my KO," says Katy.
"Oh, Katy, I'm so shocked," says Xandra.
"But I still wonder how she did it," I said.
"She probably hit him with broken glass," says Xandra.
"Wow, that was easy," I said, "okay, you can stop now."
The police let go of Veronica and she high fives them. "I almost thought I was going to jail," says Veronica.
"Were we that convincing," asks a cop.
"Very," says Veronica, "now, as for the real culprit."
"Wait, what," asks Xandra, "oh, how stupid of me, I shouldn't have been that specific!"
"But why'd you do it," asks Katy.
"I'm afraid it was because of rejection," I said.
"That's right," says Xandra, "I was in love with KO, but he refused to leave you for me! He asked for it! But how did you know?"
"We talked to Veronica," I said, "she reveals that there were two others who use the same lipstick, Betty, but I knew she had to be innocent, and you!"
"Like I said, I'm no expert," says Dilton.
The police then took her away. "I'll get you for this, Nancy Drew!"
"I'm not worried," I said.
"Thanks, Nancy," says Katy.
"It's what I do," I said.
"Let's all go to Pop's," says Veronica, "Katy really needs it."
"My boyfriend's dead and my best friend's crazy," says Katy, "oh yeah, I need it."
Xandra's POV:
They didn't take me seriously, but there's something about me they don't know. I then got out my book of black magic.
I've never seen Katy Keene, I just felt like adding her in. In the next chapter, Nancy tries to help Betty Cooper find out who's been stalking her.
