Chapter 10: The Gargoyle King:

Jughead's POV:

It was just me and the Southside Serpents. They made the big mistake of challenging me. Midge was worried, but... I beat them. No one can beat me in an eating contest.

"The winner," says Toni Topaz.

"See ya around guys," I said.

"We'll get 'cha next time," says Demon.

"By the way, Killer, your cookies get better every time," says Midge.

"Thanks Midge," says Killer.

Yeah, I'm good friends with the Serpents.

. . .

As soon as Midge and I were outside, we heard a scream from the Serpent' hideout. We ran back in.

"They got Toni," says Psycho.

"Who," I asked.

"The Gargoyles!"

Nancy's POV:

I was at the police station when Jughead told Karen what happened.

"I'll see what I can do," says Karen.

"Wait, you're going to help," asks Jughead.

"The Black Hood was right about one thing, we can't just keep ignoring things," says Karen, "besides, I'm afraid Nancy might interfere."

"Thanks," says Jughead.

"I just have one question," I said, "who are the Gargoyles?"

"They're the servants of the Gargoyle King," says Jughead, "they kidnap people to act as sacrifices to their king!"

"They're cultists who work for a lunatic," says Karen, "that's all."

"So, why the kidnapping," I said.

"In this case, they probably want the Serpents' turf," says Karen.

"Well, a sacrifice might be involved," says Jughead.

"Who is the Gargoyle King," I asked.

"No one knows," says Karen.

"I say the Gargoyle King is a monster that feeds on human flesh," says Jughead.

"Don't listen to him," says Karen.

. . .

I was at Pop Tate's when I saw some creep hitting on George. She kept trying to tell him no. I then walked over to Kevin, and I whispered to him. Kevin winks and walks over. Kevin the hits on the creep, making him run away. I then walked over to the table.

"Thanks Kevin," says George.

"Thank Nancy," says Kevin, "and my being a guy who likes guys powers. You'd be surprised how often I can scare creeps who are straight like him away." Kevin walks away.

"Thank you too, Nancy," says George.

"That guy had it coming," I said.

"I'll say he did," says a guy who walked towards us, "Ted Tambourine, but friends call me Tough Teddy."

"I'm Nice Nancy and this is Gentle George," I said.

"So why do they call you Tough," asks George.

"Have you not seen my muscles," says Ted, "plus I've been in a fight."

"Hey, have you heard of the Gargoyles," I asked.

"The Gargoyles are just a bunch of weirdos you should stay away from," says Ted, but in a scared way. He then walks away.

"Weird," I said.

"The Gargoyles," says George, "you do not want to get mixed in with them."

"Then you know something about them," I asked.

"They're insane," says George, "when they kidnap, no one ever comes back."

"Maybe Ted is one of them," I said, "McKeever kept telling me to stay away from the Black Hood and we know what happened there."

. . .

So, I secretly followed Ted. If he is a Gargoyle, then I might find the rest if I follow him... then the Gargoyles came and kidnapped Ted.

"There goes that theory," I said.

. . .

I was with my crew.

"So, now what," asks Ned.

"I wish there was a way I could find their hideout," I said.

"Only if you can get yourself kidnapped," says Shaun.

"I guess," I said.

. . .

I was walking when I saw Chuck. I was going to say hi, but then the Gargoyles grab him and take him away. I had to do something.

. . .

I decided to look up the legends of Riverdale's Gargoyle King and I found something. They say that he will become immortal if he drinks the blood of the descendants of Topaz, Clayton, and Hudson... wait, where's Tambourine? Oh well, I have an idea.

. . .

I disguised myself as Laura Hudson and allowed the Gargoyles to kidnap me.

. . .

The Gargoyles took me to their hideout where I saw Toni and Chuck.

The Gargoyle King appears. "The time has come," says the King, "with their blood, I will be immortal!"

"One problem," I said as I removed my wig, revealing myself, "I'm not a descendant of Hudson!"

"Deception," says the King.

"Now, where's Ted Tambourine?"

The King removes his mask, revealing he's Ted. "Surprise!"

"You did some good acting," I said.

"That wasn't acting," says Ted, "whenever I need to be Ted, I hypnotize myself into forgetting that I'm the Gargoyle King. If someone were to ask, I'd say 'The Gargoyles are just a bunch of weirdos you should stay away from', I guess I did deceive someone... myself."

"That's... disturbingly clever," I said, "so, about that legend..."

"300 years ago, Clayton, Hudson, and Topaz defeated an ancient evil, but their blood got mixed with the darkness and now their blood can make me immortal, but I need all three!"

"Sorry to disappoint," I said.

"If I can't live forever, then you can't live period," says Ted, "attack!"

The Gargoyles then came at me, but then something comes and attacks them. It was Dead Lucy. Lucy then unties Chuck and he goes over to Ted and knocks him out.

. . .

The Gargoyles were being taken in.

"Thanks Nancy, we were lucky you showed up," says Chuck, "like a guardian angel."

I blushed. "My pleasure."

"I'm just glad those rock heads are gone," says Toni.

Ted's POV:

I was in my cell. "Why would Dead Lucy help her? Why?" I then realized. "Nancy Drew is related to Lucy!"

Sabrina's POV:

"It looks like he figured out the connection between Lucy and Nancy," says Salem.

"Well, it looks like he didn't figure out the connection between Ryan and Nancy," I said.

"That's a good thing," says Salem.

I was happy about Nancy stopping the wicked plans of the psychotic Gargoyles with the help of Dead Lucy.

Let's face it, you figured it out too. Anyway, in the next chapter, Nancy investigates the Trash Bag Killer.
