Chapter 13: Sabrina:
Nancy's POV:
Hey, remember when I saw that mysterious blonde girl? The one that was looking at me? And then there was a black cat that winked at me. Then that cat led me to Nicky Shen's apartment. I decided to finally take a look at the Spellmans' house. I walked towards it.
"I wouldn't," says this guy, "I hear that house is cursed!"
"Cursed," I asked.
"By Dead Lucy!" I looked at the house and I ran.
Sabrina's POV:
"Cursed by Dead Lucy," I repeated, "you sure have a sense of humor, Harvey."
"So, when are you going to tell her who you are," asks Harvey.
"You know they can't know," I said, "you know by accident. Mortals can't handle the idea of witches. You read about Salem."
"Yes," asks Salem.
"She means the town," says Harvey.
Nancy's POV:
I talked to Archie.
"The Spellmans are a strange group," says Archie, "I don't know anything about them."
"I'm sure they're just misunderstood people," says Betty.
Maybe.
. . .
I decided to look up any history about the Spellmans. Then I found something. A book that talks about the history of Riverdale. Three hundred than thirty-three years ago, Hilda Spellman was accused of witchcraft. Her sister, Zelda Spellman tried to convince the people they were wrong. The two Spellman Sisters disappeared, but according to legend, they were captured by an evil demon, but then escaped. I then saw the cat and he ran.
. . .
I talked to my friends. "So, what do you think," I asked.
"I think you should stay away from those Spellmans," says Ned.
"Yeah, they creep me out," says George.
"I'm not sure they even exist," says Bess.
"I think they're aliens," says Shaun.
"What about witches," I asked, "I mean the book says that one of them was accused of being a witch and the word 'spell' is in their name."
"That sounds too obvious," says Shaun.
"Besides, there are no such thing as witches," says Bess.
But if ghosts are real... then what about witches?
. . .
I then took another look at the Spellman house. I was about to enter, but then there was a strange breeze and it was as if the world around me was spinning around. It then stopped and the police came.
"Nancy Drew," says Karen, "you are under arrest for the murder of Xandra Cabot!"
"What," I asked.
. . .
It's weird. First of all, it's like none of my previous mysteries ever existed. And I have a record. Plus, Xandra Cabot was a nice girl who always helped others and I killed her in cold blood. No one seems to remember that she was sent to jail for killing Katy Keene's boyfriend. What is happening?
"Karen, what's going on," I asked.
"Det. Hart to you," she said, "how do you even know my name?"
"You're dating my Dad," I said.
"I've never even met your dad," says Karen.
Something wasn't right. While the police were distracted, I managed to escape.
. . .
I was walking through Riverdale when I saw that cat. "I have no time for you," I said.
"I think you do," he says.
Wait, what? "Did you just talk?"
"Nancy, listen to me, you're trapped in an illusion," says Salem, "nothing you see here is real?"
"But how?"
"Xandra Cabot," says Salem, "turns out, she's a witch and she used a book of dark spells to trap you in this illusion!"
"So, nothing here is real," I asked.
"That depends, did you notice all the buildings look the same," asks Salem.
I then looked around. "Yep, it's all fake," I said, "so, how do I get out?"
"Sabrina's working on it," says Salem.
"Whobrina," I asked.
"Sabrina Spellman," says Salem, "she's a teenage witch!"
"So, she's a descendant of Hilda Spellman," I asked.
"It's... more... complicated... then that," says Salem, "but right now, we have to go, if those police officers put you in a cell, you'll be trapped in here forever!" I then saw the dream police.
"Let's go," I said.
We then ran.
. . .
We had to run, but... you know how in those cartoons, the chases are usually endless loops, well, that's what we're in.
"Is there a safe place," I asked.
"There's usually a place where you would feel safe," says Salem, "can you think of such a place?"
"I know," I said.
. . .
We were at Pop's... but it was a lot cleaner.
"Let's give it a try," says Salem.
. . .
We entered and it was empty. "There aren't a lot of people here, are there," I asked.
"Remember, this isn't the real Riverdale," says Salem.
"So, what's your deal," I asked.
"I was a warlock who tried to take over the world, but then the Witches Council punished me by turning me into a cat for 331 years," says Salem, "but there is a way to reduce my sentence, by acting as Sabrina's guide."
"And is she related to Hilda and Zelda," I asked.
"They're her aunts," says Salem, "her father's sisters."
"I'm guessing witches can live for a long time," I said.
"I've already been a cat longer than you've been alive," says Salem.
"Salem, I just realized," I said, "you're basically an ex-con, right?"
"Yes," says Salem.
"Wouldn't cops start looking for you in the most obvious place," I asked.
Salem at first stares at me but then realized that I was right.
"I see what you mean," says Salem.
The police then start charging in, but then the world started to disappear.
. . .
The next thing I knew, I was back outside and on my right was Xandra Cabot and on my left was the blonde girl with Salem. She was Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
"You stay out of this," says Xandra.
"You can't just use witchcraft on anyone," says Sabrina.
I was literally in the middle of a witch's duel, so I had to jump out of the way as Sabrina and Xandra fought. Sabrina then wins and takes Xandra's book. The police then came and took her in. I love the police.
. . .
I then talked to Sabrina.
"So, why were you stalking me before," I asked.
"Because... I think you might be connected to Dead Lucy," says Sabrina.
"What," I asked.
"I don't know how, but I know there's a connection! That's why Lucy seems to help you a lot!"
"That's crazy," I said, "but... so has this whole night! What should I do?"
"You're a detective," says Sabrina, "you figure it out." Sabrina and Salem then leave. I then saw them, Hilda and Zelda. They look really good for their age. I then saw that guy who told me the Spellmans' house was cursed. He kisses Sabrina. They then all go inside the house, and I watch. Looks like I got another thing to try to figure out... who is Dead Lucy?
Lucy Sable AKA Dead Lucy is 1/2 Black and 1/2 Caucasian. Lucy Sable's Late Biological Father is African American. Nancy has a witch as an ally now. In the next chapter, Nancy investigates the Mothman.
