Chapter 34: Superman & Lois:

Nancy's POV:

It was another typical day in Riverdale. Everything seemed normal, except for the building that's on fire. The firefighters were running late.

"I don't suppose you can try something," asks Bess.

"The best I can do is try to figure out what started that fire," I said.

Then something was blowing the fire away. We all looked, and it was Superman.

"It was a good thing there wasn't anyone in that building," says Superman.

"Dang, it's really you," says Ned.

"It was lucky you came just in time," says George.

"I just happen to be in town," says Superman, "and now I have to get going." He then flies away. Did he leave the oven at the Fortress of Solitude on?

. . .

My friends and I were walking down the street when we saw Det. Tamura talking to a familiar looking woman.

"What's going on here," I asked.

"This is Lois Lane," says Det. Tamura.

"Is it Metropolis Day in Riverdale," asks George.

"It's just Lois Lane and her husband, Clark Kent," says Det. Tamura, "she wants to know about the recent crimes that have been going on around her and I was just telling her how the Riverdale Police Department has been handling it."

"By letting Nancy do your job for you," says George.

"Shut up," says Det. Tamura.

"So, you're a crimefighter then," asks Ms. Lane.

"I'm just a detective," I said, "you know, we ran into Superman last night."

"I bet you did," says Ms. Lane, "well, I gotta go." She then walks away.

Lois' POV:

I walked to the building where the fire happened, and I saw something. A piece of green rock. If I'm right, they were here! I'm really glad that Kara's watching Jon and Jordan right now.

Nancy's POV:

We were at Pop's.

"I still can't believe the leader of the Justice League was here," says Ned.

"I do naht see ze beeg deal ahbout a mahn who flies ahround een a red cahpe when ahll he ees just ahn exahmple of mahle chauveenism."

George was then back in control. "Okay, what did she say," asks George.

"Apparenlty, Odette has her own opion of Superman," says Shaun.

Then some guys came in. "You sure this is the perfect place," asks one of them.

"Of course," says the other one, "you think Mr. Hero wouldn't come protect a bunch of teenagers?" They then started using flamethrowers and we were all screaming.

That's when Superman came. "Tell your Boss there are better ways to get someone's attention!"

"Just as we thought!" They then got out a green stone... Kryptonite!

Superman then started weakening. He needed help, so I grabbed a tray and used it to knock out the two goons. I then grabbed the kryptonite and threw it in the trash and, conveniently, it was garbage day. Superman then gets up and ties the goons up.

"Thanks," says Superman.

"Who are these guys," I asked.

"They're members of a dangerous criminal organization," says Superman, "Intergang!"

"And what do they want in Riverdale," I asked.

"There just happens to be kryptonite hidden here," says Superman, "that's why they set that building on fire last night."

"Maybe I can help you find them," I said.

"Sorry, but you don't know what you're dealing with," I said. Superman then flies off.

What would Intergang try next?

Lois' POV:

I was looking for Manheim, but I had the feeling something was behind me. I then turned around...

Nancy's POV:

I was walking when I saw some guys carry Ms. Lane away. They drove off with her. Those guys must work for Intergang. I decided to follow them.

. . .

I found them at an old warehouse. I snuck in and I saw one ugly guy.

"Lois Lane," says the ugly guy.

"Bruno Manheim. What do I owe this displeasure?"

"Simple, you are the bait to lure in Superman," says Manheim, who then reveals he has the motherload of kryptonite! "And once I'm finally rid of him, I'll get rid of you and then I'll head back to Metropolis and finally take over!"

"You won't get away with it," says Ms. Lane.

"We'll see about that," says Manheim. I then accidently knocked something over. "Who's there?"

"Meow," I said.

"Oh, well, if it's just a cat... grab the girl pretending to be a cat!"

They grabbed me. "What gave me away," I asked.

They then dragged me over to Manheim. "Who the heck are you," asks Manheim.

"Would you believe Maggie Sawyer," I asked.

"Whoever you are, you could be a threat," says Manheim, "exterminate her!"

But just as they were about to, Superman comes in. "Am I interrupting something," asks Superman.

"Take him out," says Manheim.

The goons got out the big thing of kryptonite and it was weakening Superman. "We got him, Boss!"

"This is the end for you," says Manheim.

I then made a call. Just as Manheim was about to hit Superman with a crowbar, the kryptonite disappeared. I called in a favor from Sabrina. She sent the rock to another dimension. Superman then gets up. He was still weakened, but that just meant he can punch Manheim down. The goons tried to fight him, but Superman was able to take them down.

"You guys didn't think I would learn to fight in case I get weakened," asks Superman.

. . .

Manheim and his goons were being taken in. "I still don't get what happened," says Manheim.

"What did happen," asks Ms. Lane.

"Long story," I said.

"Well, I better get you back to your husband," says Superman.

"Please do," says Ms. Lane. Superman then takes her away.

I watched them fly off, but then it occurred to me and... "Superman is Clark Kent!"

In the next chapter, Nancy meets Black Lightning.
