Chapter 43: The Invisible Intruder:

Gomber's POV:

I was reading the funnies. "I remember when Popeye was a part of this," I said. Then something turned the TV on. "Well, if it isn't Howard Wells."

"Hey Gomber," he said.

"I'm glad you're here," I said, "I got a big job for you and if you do this, I will make sure you become visible again."

"Let me guess, it's about that Drew girl."

"What gave it away?"

"It's always about that Drew girl."

"That is true, I do hate her, but here is the job I have for you. I want you to attack Nancy's half-sister."

"Can you give me a name?"

"Laura Hudson."

"And you promise you can help me become visible again? You have no idea what it was like to die invisible."

"Cross my heart," I said.

"Let me at her!"

Laura's POV:

"I don't want to do this," I said.

"Look, like it or not, Nancy is your sister," says my Dad.

"Half-sister," I said, "and ever since we met her, it's been one disaster after another!"

"Just please, try to make friends with her," says my Dad.

"Fine."

Nancy's POV:

This is going to be so awkward, but both of my Dads think it's a good idea if I try to make friends with Laura, the problem is, she hates me because I tried to sacrifice Ryan just to get the Aglaeca off my back. Then Laura came out.

"Hey," I said.

"Let's get this over with," says Laura.

. . .

We were at Pop's with my crew. It was super awkward.

"I'm heading to the Ladies' Room." Laura walks away.

"You guys could have helped," I said.

"We don't like her," says George, "she treats you like you're a monster!"

"I did try to sacrifice her dad," I said.

"We were trying to get rid of a psycho ghost," says Shaun. George then kicks Shaun. "Hey!"

"Odette, don't make me walk home," says George.

"Nancy, I understand, but she's not the easiest to get along with," says Ned.

Then we heard a scream. "Did anyone else hear that," asks Bess.

We all ran.

. . .

George, Bess, and I were in the restroom. "What happened," I asked.

"Something attacked me," says Laura, "but I couldn't see them!"

We looked around. "We may have a new problem," I said.

. . .

I was looking up something on the Internet. By the way, we're in the library. "Got it," I said, "Howard Wells was a known scientist and thief. He created a machine that could make himself invisible and then he decided to move from stealing to killing, but then he died while invisible."

"But why is his invisible ghost after me," asks Laura.

"Gomber," my crew and I said.

"I guess he realizes that you two are related," says Ned, "he kind of hates Nancy."

"We just have to find a way to beat an invisible ghost," I said.

"But how can we see him coming," asks Shaun.

"Guys, those books are floating," says George.

It was Wells. "I got him," says Ned.

He then grabs Wells, but Wells started wrestling him to the ground and a man was watching Ned lose. The man then runs away.

Random Man's POV:

"What did you see," asks the psychiatrist.

"I saw someone losing a fight to no one."

Nancy's POV:

It became clear that Ned was now fighting no one. "Ned, I think Wells is gone," I said.

"That explains why I'm not feeling his hits," says Ned.

"Can't we just talk to your witch friend," asks Laura.

"We have a book that can suck up Wells," I said, "but first, we need a way to see him."

. . .

We then talked to Dilton. "These goggles should allow you to see anything that's invisible."

"Why did you make them," asks Ned.

"It's a long story," says Dilton.

. . .

We did talk to Sabrina, but so she can enchant the goggles so they can even see an invisible ghost.

"It's like Thirteen Ghosts," says Bess.

"Let's look for Wells," I said.

. . .

We were looking for Wells. I put the goggles on, and I saw him. "WELLS!"

"Dang it," says Wells. He then runs and I chase after him.

. . .

He stopped and grabbed a woman. "What in-"

"Let her go," I said.

"Only if you let me go," says Wells.

I gave in. "Fine," I said.

Wells then let go of the woman and left. I then walked away.

Random Woman's POV:

"What did you see," asks the psychiatrist.

"I was being held hostage by nobody."

Nancy's POV:

We needed a trap for Wells.

"I heard about this trick Freakazoid did," says Shaun.

"I think I have a better idea," I said, "bait."

"Forget it," says Laura. I was hoping she'd say that.

Howard Wells' POV:

I was sneaking into Laura's room and found her in her bed. Just as I was about to stab her... She opens up a book and aims it at me.

"Say hello to my little friend!" It was Drew! The book then made me physical and then it absorbed me...

Nancy's POV:

"So, your plan worked," says Laura.

"Yep," I said.

"Well... thanks for taking the blade for me."

"It's what sisters are for."

"Half-sisters, but maybe we'll get there one day."

Maybe our Dads had the right idea.

In the next chapter, Nancy helps a cursed girl. I usually don't like the idea of someone holding a grudge for so long, but I just never got around to ending Laura's grudge towards Nancy. I had other stuff to work on.
