One warm June evening, Lincoln was chilling in the living room playing video games, when all of sudden, the front door slammed open, and in ran the 2nd eldest child of the Loud family, Leni Loud. And she looked like a complete wreck. Lincoln looked away from his game and saw Leni in tears.
"Leni? What's wrong? Why are you crying?" Lincoln asked, with concern in his voice.
"O-oh, Lincoln. My date stood me up!" Leni explained, with tears running down her face.
Lincoln, being the good brother he is, immediately went to go comfort and cheer up his older sister, who was in a distressed state.
"Oh. I'm so sorry Leni. You shouldn't feel that way because some jerk decided not to show up for a date." Lincoln said, as he gently hugged his older sister.
"Aw Lincoln. You really mean that?" Leni asked, feeling genuinely touched.
"Of course, Leni. You're a sweet, beautiful girl. And any guy would be lucky to be going out with you. Forget about that jerk who chose not to show up. You will find someone who will love you for who you are." Lincoln responded.
Leni still had tears in her eyes, but this time, they were tears of happiness from hearing her brother speak so kindly of her. Out of gratitude, she hugged her brother back, as tears streamed down her face, landing on Lincoln's shoulder.
"It's okay Leni. Just let it all out. It's not your fault. It was never your fault." Lincoln said, soothingly.
Leni and Lincoln hugged each other for a few seconds, before finally letting go. However, Lincoln knew Leni needed to be cheered up. So, he had an idea as to how to cheer his sister up.
"Hey Leni. I know you were expecting a night to remember. And you were robbed of that. And I think I know how to give you the night you were expecting." Lincoln said, intriguing Leni.
"Linky? You're gonna take me on a date? But, isn't that…weird…for siblings to do?" Leni asked, innocently, but stupidly.
"No Leni. Just follow me. I'm giving you the night that you deserve. The night that you were expecting." Lincoln responded, while rolling his eyes at his sister's ditziness.
Lincoln took Leni to the couch and gave her a controller to the video game console he was using, before Leni got home.
"Here you go Leni. Take this." Lincoln said, handing to controller to Leni.
"Linky? What is this for? I don't play video games." Leni answered in a confused tone.
"It doesn't matter. Just follow me lead and try your best. It's very easy to do." Lincoln responded, as he exited the game, returned to the games menu, and added Leni as Player 2.
"Alright Leni. Ready to play?" Lincoln asked, readying himself.
"Uh…sure." Leni responded, clearly unsure and confused as to how to play the game.
As Lincoln started playing the game, Leni was a bit unsure of how to proceed. But she smiled warmly at Lincoln and did what he told her to do and followed his lead.
"On your left!" Lincoln said to Leni.
Leni's game character turned to her left and killed the enemy that was quickly approaching her.
"Watch out Linky!" Leni shouted back at Lincoln.
Leni's game character took out an enemy behind Lincoln's game character, or Lincoln's game character turned around and took down the enemy behind him, himself.
With Lincoln's help, Leni was able to understand how to play the game. Leni and Lincoln were able to take down all the enemies around them and win the game after about an hour.
"Yay! We won! You're the best Linky! That was so much fun!" Leni said sweetly, as she and Lincoln raised their arms in the air in celebration, then she hugged Lincoln happily.
"That was a good game Leni. You did pretty good." Lincoln said, as he hugged Leni back.
Lincoln then got off the couch and entered the kitchen. A few seconds later, Lincoln returned with two bowls of popcorn. One for him. And the other for Leni.
"Here Leni, take the popcorn." Lincoln said, handing the bowl of popcorn to Leni.
"Whats this yellow bowl for?" Leni asked in her usual innocent tone.
"Its popcorn Leni. We're gonna watch a movie together. This is just a movie snack." Lincoln answered. As he smacked his forehead in annoyance and rolled his eyes. But he still managed to keep a smile on his face.
"Oh! Well, why didn't you just say so? I love watching movies!" Leni asked, taking the bowl of popcorn from Lincoln's hand.
Lincoln walked over to the TV and turned off the game system. Then he turned on the DVD player and turned it on to a mystery movie that both he and Leni could enjoy. Then he sat back down on the couch.
During the movie, Leni covered her eyes at the murder parts, out of fear. Lincoln patted her shoulders to comfort her. During the scenes where the characters were investigating the murders, Leni and Lincoln exchanged their own theories.
"Who do you think it was this time Leni?" Lincoln asked.
"Duh! It was the hosts wife! Everyone knows she's crazy!" Leni responded.
"I don't know Leni. I think it was the host's brother. He was jealous of his brother's wife." Lincoln said in response.
During the revelation scene, both Lincoln and Leni were surprised to see who was really committing the murders.
"It was the family nanny?!" Lincoln asked in astonishment.
"I totally did not see that coming!" Leni said herself.
Leni and Lincoln watched the movie to the end. After the movie concluded, Lincoln noticed the time was midnight. So, he and Leni got off the couch and went to their respective bedrooms, ready to go to sleep.
Lincoln was in his bed, reading a comic book, when someone knocked on his door. Lincoln got out of bed and opened the door and saw Leni standing at the entrance in her nightgown.
"Hey Leni. What's up?" Lincoln asked.
"I just wanted to thank you for the evening we just had. The night was sad, until you came along and helped me get over my failed date." Leni said, gratefully.
"Of course, Leni. You didn't deserve to have to go through the experience of being stood up by your date." Lincoln said.
"Linky. C-can I spend the night in your room? You treated me so kindly tonight. So, I wanna return the favor for you. A-and Lori is not living here anymore." Leni asked, nervously.
"Of course, Leni. You can spend the night here. Come in." Lincoln answered with a smile on his face. Then he opened the door more open, allowing Leni to come inside.
Lincoln and Leni got onto Lincoln's bed together. Leni taking the inside, so she wouldn't fall off the bed. Then they quickly fell asleep.
"I love you Lincoln." Leni said, warmly.
"I love you too Leni." Lincoln said with a smile on his face, as they both fell asleep, hugging each other peacefully.
