1:54 A.M. – The Shatterverse
"Why won't you just give it up already?!" Nick shouted as he continued to do battle with Captain Dread, neither of them giving any ground.
"I think you already know the answer to that," Captain Dread chuckled.
After dodging a Final Shine Attack from Nick, Captain Dread raised her hand, channeled the power of the Blue Prism Shard, and unleashed a whirlpool around him that trapped him in his current spot.
"Well, well, look at you," Captain Dread quipped. "Stuck, with nobody to help you. Your friends are all gone, splintered into different versions who don't even know you, and the one friend you do have left wants to end you for creating this chaos."
Captain Dread sauntered her way over to the trapped Nick. "Face it, you have nothing left," Captain Dread stated. "Which means, when I wipe you from the face of this shattered world..."
Captain Dread took a step back and recalled her anchor, ready to use it exactly as she intended to.
"...nobody will miss you."
Captain Dread swung her anchor, fully intent on bashing Nick's head clean off of his shoulders...
...only for the anchor to suddenly get disintegrated by being struck by a blast from a Phase Changer Phaser.
After snapping her fingers to recreate her anchor with the power of the Blue Prism Shard, Captain Dread looked behind her and saw Alex aiming her Phase Change Phaser.
"Grubby pirate hands off, lady," Alex proclaimed.
"I thought you hated him for what he did?" Captain Dread chuckled.
"I was wrong," Alex responded. "He didn't do this on purpose. And right now, the bigger threat is standing right in front of me."

Mat49324 and The Blue Time Ranger are proud to present:
Totally Spies: The New Adventures
Episode 106: Calamity Call
Story Rated: T for Teen
Story Created: May 6th, 2024
Story Summary: The one-hundred and forty-fourth co-op project between Mat49324 and The Blue Time Ranger, and episode one hundred and six of our mission-based series Totally Spies: The New Adventures. One seemingly normal day, W.O.O.H.P. suddenly starts getting inundated with strange phone calls every five minutes or so, and with no real clue as to whether it's coming from inside or outside, the spies have some work to do, but what they don't realize yet is that this barrage of spam calls is the work of both Boogie Gus and the Brain, who are using this as a distraction to plan a jailbreak from the W.O.O.H.P. Containment Facility with a little help from a virus the spies were sure would never resurface. Can the spies figure out the source of these calls and shut it down before their rogues' gallery makes a grand escape?
Author's Notes from Mat49324: Well, we got through another Datascape adventure with Grid Connection, and we hope you liked that one. For once, Lady Dragon was not behind all the troubles, and we saw the return of iCO! Hope you liked that one, and that you're ready for our next project. This one will not take the spies anywhere new around the world this time, but you might get some callbacks to some episodes from the TV series. For now, here's The Blue Time Ranger for anything he'd like to say.
Author's Notes from The Blue Time Ranger: We're trucking onwards with season nine, and the call is coming from inside the hou... wait, I already used that joke. A very interesting trio of villains await this time, and... wait a minute, she's WHO'S daughter?! In case you missed it, Totally Spies season seven is kicking off very soon (it's probably already started by the time this goes live), and we've got quite a few interesting new characters. Can't wait to see what that's all about, but for now, let's tend to this. ROLL IT!
And Now, the Obligatory Disclaimer: Mat49324 and The Blue Time Ranger do not own anything related to Totally Spies or any of its affiliations. It belongs solely to Marathon Media Group, Image Entertainment Corporation, Vincent Chalvon-Demersay, and David Michel. The only things of this story we DO own are any characters or locations created by us truly for the story. Any characters or things we don't own, we are just borrowing with no intent of copyright infringement, only for the entertainment of our readers. Besides, if we did own Totally Spies, which we don't, why would we be writing fiction on a fan site?

Act 1: Toll-Free Trouble
9:00 A.M. – Malibu University
The Spies' Penthouse
It was another seemingly normal afternoon at the spies' penthouse on the Mali-U campus. Unfortunately, the year was winding down, and the spies had to trade their swimsuits for warmer clothes for fun time, especially Mat. They were all enjoying a warm day in their beds, especially Sam with Mat, and Nick with Alex.
Sam had just stretched while she lay down, and Mat had returned from using the bathroom. Sam seemed to sense Mat had come back because she immediately nuzzled next to him.
"What's this about?" Mat asked with a chuckle.
"You know that our pool days are on hold until the spring, right?" Sam giggled.
"I do know," Mat replied.
He immediately took that as a green light, and the two lovers began kissing and exchanging many "I love you"s.
"Mat, I know I've said it a lot, but I can't wait to be your wife," Sam giggled. "And I'm never going to let someone like you go... ever!"
Before long, the two shared the most passionate kiss ever. This was the best way to spend a cold day indoors.
"You know, it's definitely different being indoors when back home, I wouldn't have to worry about the snow or whatnot," Mat told Sam after that kiss.
"I'd call you lucky, but others would have to agree to disagree," Sam giggled. "Personally, I'd love a beach day in the winter."
Mat kissed Sam on the forehead.
"As long as you're in my life, I'm content with visits home," Mat added.
"Aw, you," Sam giggled, knowing how lucky she was.
Mat took her answer as another green light to start kissing Sam.
"I love you so much," Mat sighed.
"I love you, too, Mat-honey," Sam giggled.
Meanwhile, Nick and Alex were having some quality time of their own.
"It definitely looks like it's gonna be one of those days where you can just stay in and cuddle, huh?" Alex giggled.
"Yeah, where it's just cool enough to dress warm, but not freezing," Nick quipped. "I kinda wish Tachikawa had weather this balanced at times."
"I'm just glad we got some alone time for once, huh?" Alex stated. "I know it's a bit of a balancing act at times, especially given our spy careers, but..."
"Hey, I'd like to think I've gotten better at time management," Nick chuckled. "And besides, you're my fiancée, I'll always have time for you."
Alex couldn't help but lean in to kiss Nick after that.
Before long, most of the spies had come out for a bit of a late breakfast.
"Well, at least we made the most of the year with the pool days we got," Nick told the others.
"No doubt," Mat replied. "Except in Hawaii, all we got to worry about is how cold the nights get; I feel sorry for those on the East coast though, because they got it way worse than Hawaii."
"Not going to argue there," May chuckled.
Melissa and Dawn had already come back with their foods.
Everyone else noticed that Bridget and Haruka had yet to come out.
"Maybe they're still winded from last night where we ended up playing Smash until almost 2 a.m.," Nick guessed.
"Yeah, that was pretty crazy how the time just flew by," Nozomi chuckled.
"I mean, it's one of the few things we can do with the weather getting colder in Malibu," Alex remarked.
The spies looked to see Blaine come in to see Clover. To say that Clover was happy to see Blaine was an understatement.
"Personally, I'm glad that Blaine's still here," May quietly told everyone.
In the meantime, Bridget was talking with Haruka about Nick.
"Okay, so... what was it you wanted to talk to me about, Haruka?" Bridget wondered, though she had a pretty good idea.
"Well... can you keep a secret?" Haruka asked.
"Just be glad I'm not Zoey," Bridget chuckled. "Because that girl is a notorious blabbermouth. Now that you ask me that, though, I'm pretty sure I know what you're about to ask me. Let me guess, it's about Nick?"
"...am I really that easy to read?" Haruka sighed.
"Hey, I notice things," Bridget answered.
"I just... I need someone else to confide in besides just May," Haruka admitted. "I'm trying to find the right time to tell Nick how I feel, but..."
"It's driving you nuts inside, isn't it?" Bridget quipped. "Trust me, I know how that feels. My cousin Jeremy was crushing pretty hard on this one girl in his class before he passed away, and he was acting a lot like you kind of are right now, just worrying about when the 'right time to tell' would be."
Bridget stepped a bit closer to give Haruka a hug, one she figured was sorely needed. "Trust me when I say this, okay, Haruka?" Bridget stated. "I think you're worrying a little too much. After all, how many times has this happened already? And besides, the right time will come, but you can't rush it, or you're gonna stress yourself out even more, and nobody wants that. Just let the right time come to you, and things will just fall into place as they do."
"...never took you to be a speech-giver, Bridget," Haruka chuckled.
"Hey, have you seen how many times I had to do it for the track team?" Bridget laughed. "Just... don't over-worry, okay?"
"I guess you're right," Haruka admitted. "I was just stressing myself out over it, but if I've learned anything from what I said to May way back then, it's that these things just happen... and I should just let them, right?"
"Bingo," Bridget proclaimed. "Now how about we put this aside for now and wait until the time comes?"
"Talk about thoughts that come out at two in the morning," Haruka chuckled. "I still can't believe we did that, honestly."
"Would you believe me if I said that Nick once stayed up until four-thirty in the morning playing a game?" Bridget laughed. "He just had to get to the end of this one game and screw sleep."
"I think we've all been there at least once," Haruka quipped.
A chorus of loud gasps resounded before getting quickly cut off. Haruka and Bridget ran back to the main penthouse just in time to see the last of the spies get sucked into a large metal tube protruding from the ceiling.
"Well, that was certainly a thing that happened," Haruka chuckled.
"Let's follow their example, shall we?" Bridget quipped as she and Haruka suited up before jumping into the tube.
10:57 A.M. – W.O.O.H.P. Headquarters
Jerry's Office
"I should have known he'd figure out a way to sneak up on us eventually," Clover groaned once the entire team had their bearings back together.
"You know Jerry's got eyes and ears everywhere in this city," Alex chuckled. "Never hurts to be prepared, right?"
"I have my ways," Jerry noted.
"Well, let's get down to business, then," Sam proclaimed as everyone who hadn't already suited up proceeded to do so. "You summoned us, Jer, so who's the person or people who want a piece of us this time?"
RiCO and iCO materialized their hologram forms in the office to take care of that explanation.
"We believe it's gotta be these two," RiCO answered, waving her hands to change the office viewscreen to a mugshot of two different villains.
"Oh, lordy, it's Boogie Gus again," Melissa groaned. "I was kinda hoping to not have to deal with him for a long time."
"Wait, wait, isn't that the Brain?" Britney gasped when she recognized the other villain. "As in, the guy whose brain Jerry used to make GLADIS?"
"Hold on, his name is literally just 'The Brain'?" May quipped. "Are they really running out of ideas for villain names?"
"Another mystery that may never get an answer," Nozomi sighed. "I've kinda grown to accept it by now, really."
"I've been tracking their location, and I think I've narrowed them down to somewhere in the southwest downtown area," iCO proclaimed.
"Well, then, shall we get going and stomp some baddies?" Bridget laughed.
"Not without me, you're not!"
"Ah, Sortiliena, right on time as always," Nick chuckled as Sortiliena came skidding to a stop in the office.
"I've been itching to plant my foot in Boogie Gus' tie-dye keester for a while now, so how about we go and expedite that?" Sortiliena giggled.
"Don't have to tell us twice," Haruka responded as the fourteen spies left the office to go find Boogie Gus and the Brain.
The spies then heard Jerry's office phone ring just after the last spy, namely Britney, was about to leave for downtown.
"...what the heck?" RiCO wondered.
"What's the call saying?" Britney asked. "It sounds like some random gobbledy-gook language."
"I think it's in Scandinavian, for some reason," iCO answered.
"...I have several questions," May quipped.
"That's the gist of what's going on as of late," RiCO told Britney.
"Those phone calls?" Britney wondered as the spies overheard.
"We are trying to trace these calls, but that's where I got a signal from," RiCO remarked.
"That's a little odd," Nick commented.
The spies then officially made the trek downtown to find out what was going on there.
1:03 P.M. – Downtown Beverly Hills
"Okay, this is the area where RiCO pinpointed some trouble," Sam told the others.
"Hey, we're not far from Rodeo Drive," Alex stated, realizing where they were.
"They had to pick one of the most high-trafficked areas of California, did they?" Clover complained.
"That must be another vital part of their M.O.," May stated.
"What about that phone call Jerry got?" Blaine asked.
"I don't know," Bridget stated. "That didn't sound like a wrong number, but it sure sounded like a crank call at best..."
"Okay, so what are we looking for?" Nozomi wondered.
"Maybe we'll know when we find it," Mat remarked.
"Do you happen to know something about these strange calls, Sortiliena?" Alex asked.
"We've been getting a lot of strange calls in the past couple days," Sortiliena explained. "We usually pay them no mind since most of them have been spam calls of some kind, you know, the kind that are like 'OH HEY YOU'VE WON A FREE ATOMIC DEATH LASER!'"
"Even villains should know that one's not real," Nozomi chuckled. "There's always a catch."
"How they're doing this is totally beyond me," Haruka stated while trying to keep her feelings for Nick on the side a little longer.
"Totally," Melissa replied. "And I don't detect anything out of the ordinary around here, either!"
"It couldn't be a false alarm, could it?" Dawn speculated.
"I certainly hope not," Bridget remarked, remembering how she, Mat, Nick, and Blaine got a case of jet lag the last time.
"I'm not sure what to look for honestly," Dawn stated.
"Well, something should turn up eventually," Nick deduced.
The spies looked around in all directions hoping for a clue... until they passed by a pay phone that rang, much to everybody's surprise.
"Is anybody going to get that?" Clover asked.
Everybody was hesitant to volunteer.
"Can you read anything quickly, Nick?" Sortiliena suggested.
"I'm not sure about my psychic powers working with phone lines," Nick admitted. "But I'll try."
"No time for that," Sam emphasized. "I suppose one of us better answer it before we lose our chance!"
She eventually chose to answer that phone. "Hello?"
"Hello, spy..." A robotized voice sinisterly greeted.
"Dare I ask who's trying to call me?" Sam stated.
"Wouldn't you like to know?" the voice chuckled. "I'd definitely like to see how well you handle this particular incident."
"And that's supposed to mean what?" Sam quipped.
"I wouldn't dare spoil the surprise so quickly," the voice laughed. "Either way, I look forward to meeting you again."
"Hey, how about you start making..." Sam growled before the call disconnected. "...sense."
"Well, nuts," Bridget groaned. "That didn't accomplish much, apparently."
"And I didn't sense anything out of order, either," Nick stated. "I guess my 'radar' can't detect if it's coming from a... wait."
"What's up, Nick?" Haruka wondered.
"I'm actually picking up two sets of thoughts heading our way fast," Nick responded. "And I'm pretty sure it's our resident baddies!"
The spies all prepared themselves as Boogie Gus and the Brain quickly made their presence known.
"Well, well, it's been a hot minute, ya groovy gear-grinders," Boogie Gus laughed. "I hope y'all are ready for another dose of pain!"
"Could you maybe please think up some new lines? Because they're really getting old by now," Clover groaned.
"How fortunate that we would get to see each other again," the Brain chuckled. "It seems like your team has expanded in leaps and bounds since our last encounter."
"Yeah, and that means you'd do well to not underestimate us," May taunted, twirling her anchor around for good measure. "Because so many other villains have done that, and it did not end well for them, let me tell you."
"And how is my dear GLADIS doing?" the Brain quipped.
"Yeah, about that," RiCO proclaimed before projecting herself as a hologram via Nick's X-Powder. "She's kinda... well, gone. She sacrificed herself to try and stop one of our villains, but now I'm running the whole A.I. show. Name's RiCO. Nice to meet ya."
"Ah, how technology has evolved," the Brain chuckled. "Unfortunately, you'll soon learn that I have my own ways of keeping up with the times."
"That means it's time for a big ol' combo platter of pain!" Boogie Gus exclaimed as he aimed his 80fier towards the spies and fired, only for Nick to deflect the shot by way of a psychic barrier in front of them.
"Hey, you stole our line, you chode," Nick taunted.
This allowed Sortiliena to go on the offensive, leapfrogging off of Nick's shoulders and snap-kicking Boogie Gus into the ground.
"Ah, it seems like we have a secret agent who's actually willing to get her actual hands dirty for once," the Brain chuckled.
"I wouldn't put it that way, but..." Sortiliena quipped as she dodged through razor-sharp discs being thrown by the Brain. "I do like using my hands and feet to kick some evil butt. Sortiliena Serlut, W.O.O.H.P. Combat Instructor, at your service!"
"Why don't you stand still for once, you little spring chicken?!" Boogie Gus exclaimed as he tossed a small drone into the air that quickly unfolded and started firing lasers down at the spies, forcing them to stay on the move.
Nick blasted the drone down with a Final Shine Attack before quickly firing another one to knock Boogie Gus down.
"I could say the same to you," Nick taunted.
The Brain reached into his pocket and threw a pair of what appeared to be staffs forward, and they both planted themselves into the ground. Just as both Alex and Britney attempted to dash on through, the pillars activated, causing electricity to surge between them. Both Alex and Britney skidded to a stop just short of the electric wall.
"Oof, that was too close," Alex quipped.
"Tell me about it," Britney stated.
"Look both ways, why don't you?" the Brain chuckled, only to back up slightly as May proceeded to destroy the pillars with her anchor.
"I did warn you," May chuckled as she heaved her anchor like a javelin, just barely missing the Brain. "Dang, he moves pretty quick for a guy his age."
"Like I said, I have been keeping up with the times," the Brain laughed. "Want me to demonstrate?!"
The Brain raised his right hand, and a small laser pistol unfurled from just below his sleeve so he could fire it right towards May. Thankfully, Nick was right there to project a psychic barrier to deflect the shot.
"Hands off, chrome dome," Nick proclaimed, his psychic aura flaring to life around him. "You've probably never faced off with me or my friends yet, so I'll say this right now: mess with my friends at your own peril."
"This will be fun indeed," the Brain chuckled as he and Nick prepared to face off.
Just then, the spies all heard phones ringing everywhere.
"And it looks like our time is up for now," the Brain quipped.
"I hope y'all know how to use a phone!" Boogie Gus laughed as he threw down a smoke pellet so they could make their escape.
"Have I mentioned that I hate when they do that?" Dawn groaned. "Because I think I have, multiple times!"
"I'm more concerned about all of this ringing," Sam stated.
"I'm running a trace on a possible source," RiCO answered from Nick's X-Powder. "It may seem like a random spam infestation, but I'm pretty sure this has 'those two clucks' written all over it. I just gotta figure out the how and why first..."
"You take care of that, RiCO, and we'll see what's going on with all of this," Bridget quipped.
"Be advised that this could take a while," RiCO remarked as an early heads-up. "iCO isn't getting much answers in the Datascape either..."
"That's odd," Nick stated.
"Well, they get points for originality," Blaine admitted.
"We don't even know where to go now," May chastised.
The spies looked upward to see the W.O.O.H.P. jet above their heads.
"Odd that Jerry's piloting the jet at this time..." Clover commented.
"I was able to swoop up Boogie Gus and the Brain while they were on the run," Jerry replied after his visage showed up on Sam's X-Powder.
"Wow, that's lucky," Alex remarked.
"Thank the W.O.O.H.P. Satellites courtesy of Sortiliena," Jerry quipped.
"Sortiliena?" Bridget wondered, completely surprised.
"And iCO played a role, too," Sortiliena told them all.
"I didn't know you had a tech-y side, Sortiliena," Alex commented.
"Well, now you do," Sortiliena giggled.
"But the AI does the hard stuff," RiCO quipped.
"Yep, and I never said I did it all on my own," Sortiliena pointed out.
"I've also picked up something in the Santa Clara area," RiCO added to the spies.
"So quick!" Dawn exclaimed.
"We're in the dark just as much as you are," RiCO told the spies. "But we'll hopefully have an answer sooner rather than later..."
"What if... the problem isn't out here?" Mat wondered.
"Maybe if Santa Clara doesn't turn up anything, Mat's presumption could make a lot more sense," Clover commented.
"Totally," Alex added.
"Otherwise, hopefully we aren't just chasing shadows or our tails for that matter," Haruka told the others.
"I guess we'll find out," Bridget quipped. "Gather 'round, guys... Sonic Mode, online!"
She kicked up the juice, and the spies were off for the Santa Clara area.
2:02 P.M. – Santa Clara
"Okay, here we are," Melissa stated. "Where do we start?"
"If this is déjà vu, we better find a nearby pay phone," Nick replied.
"Let me try to answer it this time," Sortiliena told the others.
The spies looked for anything in particular that would steer them in the right direction.
"Anybody find something?" Sam asked, using the Ear-Ring Communicators.
"Not..." Sortiliena replied until everyone heard the sound of a phone ringing around her area.
"Hold on, Sortiliena," May stated. "We'll try to get to you ASAP!"
Sortiliena worked up the courage to answer the ringing pay phone while waiting for the spies to find her.
"All right, whoever this is, you'd better not be trying to prank call us, or you're gonna be in a heap of trouble," Sortiliena proclaimed right off the bat.
"But where would the fun be in simply revealing everything right off the bat?" the voice on the other end of the call responded. "We obviously need to have some fun first."
"I don't know who you are or if you're really the one behind this, but if you're a part of this, we're gonna stomp you flat like we always do," Sortiliena countered.
"I look forward to it," the voice chuckled. "But for now, at least, let's keep having some fun. Try not to lose your head, okay?"
"Now you're starting to sound like the Riddler," Sortiliena teased, her body ready to move at even the slightest sign of trouble.
"Maybe. It could just be more fun for me."
The door to the phone booth suddenly slammed itself shut, but Sortiliena was already on the move, kicking the glass pane out so she could dive out of the booth to safe ground. And just in time, too, as a bunch of flying saw blades flew forward and sliced the phone booth into pieces.
"Yeah, I don't think so, buddy," Sortiliena taunted.
"Yikes, that was way too close," Haruka sighed in relief. "Nice to see you still in one piece, Sortiliena."
"I've been caught up in more than my fair share of traps in my day," Sortiliena chuckled. "The ol' 'trap them in a phone booth then annihilate them' bit's already been done to death, methinks."
"Did you get anything from mister mystery caller?" Nozomi wondered.
"All I know for sure is that it's definitely the same person who contacted you earlier, Sam," Sortiliena responded. "Whoever this is, they're either a bit too crafty or deliberately trying to get under our skin with all of this."
"Knowing our baddies, it may very well be both," Britney sighed.
"I made some progress of my own, too," RiCO proclaimed from Nick's X-Powder. "I'm running a signal tracer on mister mystery voice, so it shouldn't be much longer until I can get a fix on their location. And iCO's currently sweeping the Datascape for any signs of intrusion on that end."
"And you just got the Datascape back to normal, too," Nick teased, referencing their previous caper inside the Datascape.
"Eh, I'm used to it by now, really," RiCO chuckled. "I'll stay on that tracer for you. You all just go and kick some faces, all right?"
"That's definitely the plan, RiCO," Clover replied.
"Well, now that that's been settled, I think we need to find Boogie Gus before he starts causing any trouble," Sam stated.
"No need, Sam, because they're both headed our way!" Nick proclaimed.
"Aw, man, I was so sure little miss fightin' chicken was gonna be cut up and fried golden brown," Boogie Gus groaned. "It worked so well in testing!"
"Yeah, well, rules for villains number one hundred and six," May taunted. "No death trap ever survives first contact with the heroes."
"Rest assured, that was only the beginning of our wonderful schemes," the Brain chuckled. "We have way more than just that in store."
"Sorry, but we're not interested," Bridget proclaimed as she went for her brooch. "Sonic Mode, online!"
After transforming, Bridget started running towards Nick, her intent obvious.
"Aw, come on, you're really going to use the same ol' combo on me?" Boogie Gus laughed.
"Not really," Bridget chuckled as she and Nick joined hands. "We gotta mix it up every now and then so it doesn't get stale."
"You should count yourself lucky, then," Nick stated. "Because you're the first baddie who's gonna get stomped by the third iteration of the Purple Comet Attack!"
Boogie Gus attempted to duck away from the attack, but Bridget was naturally faster, using her momentum to uppercut Boogie Gus into the air.
Nick followed by leapfrogging off of Bridget's shoulders and knocking Boogie Gus back to the ground with an overhead fist slam.
Before Boogie Gus could even bounce, Bridget sped by him, causing him to spin around in place for a couple seconds.
Nick lunged forward to kick Boogie Gus in the back and send him stumbling forward.
Nick and Bridget ran to either side of Boogie Gus and started attacking in perfect sync with each other, landing four direct punches each before snap-kicking Boogie Gus into the air.
"Ready for the finale?!" Bridget shouted.
Just as Boogie Gus started falling, Nick and Bridget charged, striking Boogie Gus rapid-fire from multiple angles, making it look like he was being pinballed through the air.
For the final blow, Nick and Bridget joined hands once again, then flew swiftly towards Boogie Gus, using their joined hands to clothesline him and send him crashing back into the ground.
"How's that for your 80s face?!" Nick taunted.
"Oh, but we're not through yet," the Brain laughed, and the spies prepared themselves for whatever the Brain was going to do.
"I don't know how you got out, but your philandering stops here and now!" Mat remarked.
"I can credit Boogie Gus here for that," the Brain sneered.
All of a sudden, the Brain threw another one of those strange razor discs to break Boogie Gus' restraints so he could jump back to his feet.
"The disco returns!" Boogie Gus taunted.
"It won't matter for you, Mr. Old-ass Schmoe!" Clover exclaimed.
"Oh, we know it will matter," The Brain sneered. "Our trump card's still waiting in the wings..."
Sam countered that by firing her Laser Lipstick at The Brain.
"Is that the best you crazy cats can do?!" Boogie Gus laughed as he got up.
"Call that the tip of the iceberg," Sam remarked.
Nick had an idea and used his psychic shots at Boogie Gus's 80fier in an attempt to make him drop it.
"I haven't forgotten you either," Nick told The Brain and used his other hand at him.
"Is that the 'dancing,' Nick?" May asked.
"Part of it," Nick replied.
May took that as a green light and hurled her anchor at both of them.
"Eat anchor, punks!" May exclaimed as her anchor smashed both villains, and also shattered Boogie Gus's 80fier.
"OH NO!" Boogie Gus shouted at his smashed 80fier.
"Not so hot now, are ya?!" Nick proclaimed as he fired psychic shots at them again.
Boogie Gus reached into his pocket and threw a spherical drone of sorts towards the spies, and it quickly unfolded into what appeared to be a glowing disco ball of sorts.
Suddenly, most of the spies found themselves dancing uncontrollably.
"Wh-what the hell?!" Haruka gasped. "What's going on?!"
"Oh, yeah, feel the power of my Groovitron!" Boogie Gus exclaimed.
Nick quickly destroyed the Groovitron with a Final Shine Attack since he was out of its range, stopping the sudden dance spell.
"Sorry, but I'm not much of a dancer," Nick quipped as he raised his hand and encased both villains inside of a psychic bubble.
"Now you're just not being fair!" Boogie Gus groaned.
"Oh, get over yourselves," May taunted.
"Jerry, we've got those two slippery spodes for pickup now," Sam told Jerry over her X-Powder.
"Excellent work, Sam," Jerry commended. "We also have an update as well."
"You found out the solution to those weird phone calls?" Sam asked, which got everyone's attention.
"Well, yes and no," Jerry replied.
"Did you happen to find anything out of the ordinary in the Santa Clara area?" RiCO asked them.
"Other than Boogie Gus and The Brain, not much," Clover replied.
"Yes, we have received them courtesy of Nick's psychic bubble," Jerry confirmed.
"iCO has informed me of an anomaly with the phone line inside of W.O.O.H.P.," RiCO added.
"So, we have to look around W.O.O.H.P. then?" Nozomi wondered.
"It would appear that way," Jerry stated.
"I guess Mat's theory was right," Melissa commented.
"What exactly is going on?" Nick asked. "Do you know?"
"We're currently still trying to figure that out, but it shouldn't be much longer until we have a lock on it," iCO answered. "For now, why don't you all come back to W.O.O.H.P. so we can figure this out?"
"Sounds like a plan to me," Melissa quipped as the spies all made for headquarters.
4:31 P.M. – W.O.O.H.P. Headquarters
Jerry's Office
"Well, we're her, Jer, so what's the next step?" Sam asked as all fourteen spies entered Jerry's office, only to find that Jerry wasn't in there at the moment.
"...um, Jerry, if you're still here, give us a sign?" Bridget stated.
"Jerry's off checking out other problems right now," RiCO proclaimed as she and iCO materialized in the office. "We've got a problem of our own here."
"Remember how we mentioned that we found the anomaly here at W.O.O.H.P.?" iCO responded. "Well, we actually traced its activity to somewhere inside the Datascape, and it appears to be some kind of computer virus that's screwing up our phone systems."
"Oh, lord, you don't think Lady Dragon's back on her bull again, is she?" Nozomi groaned.
"That's the thing, though," RiCO replied, catching the spies' attention. "I was able to analyze a trace of this virus, and it doesn't appear to be Lady Dragon's handiwork."
RiCO waved her hand to change the picture on the office viewscreen to a diagram of the virus' analysis.
"Wait a minute," Sam quipped once she recognized what exactly she was looking at. "Isn't that the strange computer virus that took control of that Tetsuo Takara guy?"
"The one that made you act like you were a computer, Sammy?" Alex noted. "Kinda hard to forget that."
"What's that bungled mess of data doing back on its feet again?" Clover wondered.
"Whatever it's up to, that's probably the main cause of all this nonsense," Nick stated. "I would assume we're gonna have to jump back into the Datascape to find and cleanse this virus, hopefully once and for all this time?"
"That's the advantage we have over it this time," RiCO chuckled. "Not just a larger team, but you've got us on your side now. As long as we're on the job, this virus thing doesn't stand a chance!"
"RiCO and I will meet you in Sector D, the last place we detected a trace of the Virus," iCO proclaimed. "Prepare to network!"
The Virtualizer unfolded from the wall just above the office viewscreen and hit the entire group with a blast of blue light, sending all fourteen of them into the Datascape.

Next time...
RiCO: Ah, you're just in time.
Sortiliena: This Virus thing isn't causing any further trouble, is he?
RiCO: Nothing more than he's already done, but I think we need to get our butts in gear before he decides to make things worse.
iCO: Our last known trace of his signal was just to the southwest. Let's get moving.
Haruka: You know, it's pretty rare that we come to the Datascape two capers in a row.
Nozomi: Guess Boogie Gus just wanted to be petty.
Sam: And I'm willing to bet that the Brain is responsible for bringing the Virus back in the first place. I wouldn't put it past him.
Dawn: Does that sound mean trouble, RiCO?
RiCO: Seems that way. There's viral activity heading our way fast!
iCO: These henchmen aren't real people, just digital constructs.
Nick: Good, then that means we don't need to hold back.
Sortiliena: Exactly what I was thinking, Nick! Let's clean their clocks, next time on Totally Spies: Calamity Call, "Byte Bashing"!
Haruka: ...what's that noise I keep hearing? It sounds like someone's voice got put through a desk fan and meshed...
Alex: Oh, I think someone from the sound department's just playing around with the voice synthesizer they're using for the Virus' speech. It makes you sound all kooky and silly and I love it.
