Hello readers! It is I, your potential beloved/despised writer depending on the company this brings you. I won't pull my punches on this, it is a very bizarre concept that attacked me unexpectedly. Picture this, here I was throwing back coke zeros on the beach like it was going out of style, enjoying the ebb and flow and whooshing of the waves when BAM! this story vividly materializes in my head. Night falls and before me I my blank notes app and I'm feelin like Michelangelo, I'm seeing the beast within the marble, I just gotta get chiseling. And I still am for the foreseeable future.

It might be long, it might not I really don't know. This has been hellish to write because of a 3rd person limited perspective or whatever its called. God Lord I am rambling! Enjoy this work or do not, I've anguished for far too long to not post it anywhere.

"Please Be With Me" by Cowboy - Good Song

-XOXO Gorble

- Chapter 1 -

It was midday, but the thick curtain filtered the natural light down to the soft flicker of a candle. Leisure became the norm after senior year ended, almost two months have passed since then. These midday lulls were almost a ritual. It was during these times that company was best enjoyed.

He hummed softly as gentle hands massaged his chest. The cigarette rolled in his mouth as a gentle smile settled on his face. He met the eyes of the feline, straddling his hips and a small giggle escaped the other. His hands rested at their hips, his thumbs working at the crevices between the thighs and hips. Smoke billowed from his nose as he exhaled deeply, "You know, I got the scholarship."

"Well congratulations stud, I always knew you'd be a star." A hand slid up his chest to coyly scratch under his chin. His tail would've wagged if it was pinned beneath him. The cheesy comment made him chuckle lazily, the cat was always good for a laugh among other things.

His hands slid up the sides of the thin purple waist, causing the cat to arch into his grip. He felt ribs hidden beneath hardly anything as he passed, coming to rest just under the arms. They truly were a cat, delicate in every way that counted. Thumbs caressed his nipples, causing the cat to jolt and give a breathy giggle.

"The things you do to me kitty…"

The hand on his chin retreated and plucked the cigarette from his lips. As the cat inhaled deeply, their body straightened to stretch. Even in the low light he could see the small valleys where the flesh on his chest had moved, they almost looked like gills. Their stomach recessed with the inhale and he could see the outline where the chest ended and the belly began. How incredibly delicate. The cat exhumed red smoke toward the ceiling.

There was something special about him, his body produced this smoke, the haze he called it. The way it made him feel screamed haze, even just thinking about it seemed to develop his head in smoke. Its unique properties far exceeded just color. It stirred something within those who inhaled it, almost arousing. Or maybe it was just whoever blew the smoke.

Watchful eyes discerned the focus of his gaze, "Would you like to taste my haze, puppy?"

"You know I do." He tried to hide the eagerness in his voice.

The cat giggled with delight and leaned down to kiss him. A rough tongue split his lips and his lungs filled with smoke. Even that was delicate about him, it didn't bite like tobacco. The effects were instantaneous, a tickling heat bloomed in his stomach and flushed his face. He groaned as the cat pulled away, smoke floating from both their mouths. He could feel the aches and stresses of life melt away as his eyelids grew heavier.

"Fuck kitty…" The cat lowered himself to rest his head on the other's chest.

"I know, I'm amazing right?"

"Forever and always." He could feel the other start to purr. "Ash that cigarette babe, let's take a nap."

"Gladly" They lay, one atop the other in silence, only the sound of steady breathing between them.

A quiet voice prodded the silence, "Hey puppy, you asleep?"

"Not quite." He rubbed the others back in assurance.

"Do you wanna get married?" A finger drew circles absentmindedly on his chest.

"When?"

"I don't know, how about after college?"

Another lazy smile crept on his face, "Yeah, okay I would like that."

"Cool," The cat settled again, intent on listening to the slow rhythmic beat of his heart.

"I love you, Dogday."

"I love you too."

"Sweet dreams."

Sometimes nightmares could be sweet too.

Two men stood solemn and rigid at his door when he answered. Their military decorations twinkled in the light. The man with noticeably more glint began to speak.

"Today is your lucky day, son. You have been chosen to fight for your country and fellow man for the liberty we must maintain." He felt cold and numb, his body's desperate attempt to stop the oncoming panic attack. He saw his future crumble; there would be no college, there would be no league, and worst of all, there wouldn't be a life for him and his kitty.

A large olive bus was waiting for him at the depot. The men who shared his fortune could easily be seen, as they wore uniforms similar in color to their ride. They hugged and cried with the ones to be left behind as they stepped on the bus. He had never been more scared in his life.

The cat tugged his sleeve and he turned to watch him. His heart retched at the sight of tears in their eyes. So many emotions flooded his mind and burned through his core. He settled on the love with a smile, even if he was only feigning strength.

"I'll be back Cat, c'mon you know me." They must've sensed the apprehension in his voice because the tears finally fell. He grabbed onto the purple feline and pulled him close, gently rubbing their back to console. He was fighting back tears of his own and he was losing.

"I'll be back, I-I'm strong."

"Promise me." He met the feline's eyes, they were fierce, no room left for doubt.

"I promise I'll come back to you, even if I have to walk all over hell's creation, and when I do I'll marry you."

A warm smile spread across the cat's face.

"Okay, but you are wearing the dress." He chuckled and rubbed the felines cheek tenderly.

"I love you, kitty."

"I love you too, puppy" Their lips locked together with fierce passion, it may be the last moment they would ever share.

The promise shared was his compass and he would do anything to stay its course.
