A week ago
A man stood outside a store asking for money from the people walking out. He had fair skin and a gray beard. He also wore a dirty jacket and pants. Each person looked at him with disgust as he held a hand for money.
"Just a few dollars is all I need." The man said to woman walking out.
"I'm sorry but I don't have anything to give." The woman told him before hurrying to his car. The man sighed in sadness.
"There has to be some reason that I'm on this earth." The man says to himself. "I lost my job last month because of a meta human fight and lost my house last week. It's because of those damn metas! There has to be a way to eliminate them." He hears a crash a couple blocks away and goes to investigate. He peers around a building and sees what appears to be a mech. On the other side of the street his eyes widen as he sees a large green creature facing off against it. The mech fired several rockets at the creature but hit dodged with ease before rushing the mech and hit it with a right hand causing the mech to stumble. The creature then grabbed the mech and threw it as far as it could before jumping after it.
"That creature." The man gasped. "I've never seen anything like it. It's not a meta human. I think that it can be only one thing. A God."
Present time
In the Dungeon, Mirage sat in her cell reading a book when a guard approached her cell.
"Mirage, you have a visitor." The guard said. Mirage raises an eyebrow before getting off her bed and following the guard.
"I wasn't expecting any visitors." Mirage said. They approached the visiting area and sees a man in a suit. "Who are you?"
The man smiles. "Someone who will help you be relieved of your sin." He says. He pulls out a gun a shoots a tranquilizer dart at her arm.
"What the?" Mirage started before starting to get dizzy. She then collapsed into the arms of the guard. The man turns to the guard.
"Take her to my car." The man says. "And as promised you will be paid handsomely for your assistance." The guard nods and proceeded to drag Mirage out of the room. The man smiled. "As shown in his vision." He then walks out of the room.
At the base, Daniel continued to work on the Road Rage as music played.
"Pliers." Daniel says. A green tendril appears from his body and hands him the pliers.
Here.
"A just a few more tune ups and we'll be back in the road again." Daniel said.
Good. I feel like we've been in this town for a year.
"You're exaggerating." Daniel says with an eye-roll. "Socket wrench." The tendril again comes out of his back and grabs the wrench.
Here.
"Thanks." Daniel said. "Who would've thought that having an alien living inside my body would be so useful."
I told you. I'm gonna turn on the tv.
The tendril pops out again and grabs the remote turning on the tv.
"Breaking News! Convicted war criminal Laura Stevens aka Mirage has gone missing." Jenny Snart reported catching Daniel's attention as her mugshot appeared on the screen. "She was last scene inside the Dungeon before vanishing last night. While there were no witnesses, there was a dead guard just outside the prison. We'll have more on that story when details become available."
"She escaped?" Daniel questioned.
Maybe she got help from another Meta human on that team of hers.
"No chance." Daniel replied. "Both her teammates are locked up as well. Something is strange here."
Agreed.
Soothsayer walks into the room from his chambers. "Ah greetings Daniel and Fury." He greeted. "Hard at work I see."
"Yeah, until we saw that Mirage got out of prison." Daniel said. "We don't even know she got out."
Soothsayer turns to the TV and sees the report. "Hmm. This is quite concerning." He says as he stroked his beard. "As well as a dead guard outside the prison. Things aren't adding up. Perhaps Mr. Cuddles could be of assistance." Seconds later Mr. Cuddles walks in.
"Heard my name. What's going on?" Mr. Cuddles asked.
"Mirage got out of the Dungeon." Daniel said.
"How did she break out?" Mr. Cuddles asked.
"I don't know. But we're going to look for some answers." Daniel stated.
"Well, we could check the cameras." Mr. Cuddles suggested. "But we gotta do it by the book. I'll go get my suit on and call Luna so we can head to the court house and get a warrant." He heads back to the room.
"While you're doing that, I have to run an errand." Soothsayer says. "I'll see you later!" He then disappeared in a puff of smoke.
How does he do that?
"Magic." Daniel answers. "We gotta get ready."
After getting the warrant, Mr. Cuddles, Amplifier and Road Hazard headed towards the Dungeon to check the cameras.
"Kinda crazy that Mirage just disappeared like that dudes." Amplifier said as they got out of the L-Monster.
"That's a good question." Road Hazard said. "I'm sure we'll find something on the cameras."
"We also got potential witnesses around Mirage's cell." Mr. Cuddles said.
Amplifier sighed at that. "You do remember I put a lot of those guys in there right?" She says in a deadpan tone. Mr. Cuddles let out a nervous chuckle before they entered the prison where Brock was waiting for them.
"Amplifier. Glad you could make it." Brock said as he shook her hand. "I take it you heard about Mirage?" Amplifier nods. "Well we've been doing our own investigation and we've come to the conclusion that she didn't actually escape. She was kidnapped." Amplifier and Mr. Cuddles gasped while Road Hazard's eyes widen.
"Can you take us to her cell?" Mr. Cuddles asked.
"Of course. Follow me." Brock said as he, Amplifier, Road Hazard and Mr. Cuddles walked into the Dungeon where they see the inmates glaring at Amplifier, she looks around and gulped nervously. But her heart skipped a beat when she passed Electron and Rubbor's cells.
"Well well. What do we have here?" Electron growled as he approached the glass. "The great Amplifier paying us a visit. How nice." Amplifier doesn't respond but clenched her fist. "I can sense your fear Amplifier. And it feels good."
"The only thing that feels good is that you're still locked up and never getting out." Amplifier fired back. However, Electron just laughs.
"It's nice to dream isn't it. I feel I'll be seeing you soon." Electron growls before walking back further into his cell. Amplifier let's out a sigh of relief before turning to Rubbor's cell. Surprisingly, the rubber monster didn't even acknowledge Amplifier. Instead he sat there with his eyes closed and head down, like he was concentrating on something.
"What's with Rubbor?" Amplifier asked. Brock shrugs.
"Not sure. He's been like that since you brought him back after the Conductor incident." Brock replied. "The only time he's not like that is meal time and then he goes back to doing whatever that is."
"Almost looks like he's meditating." Cuddles comments. "But I highly doubt he's doing that. C'mon. Let's see Mirage's cell." They start to walk away when Amplifier hears Rubbor speak.
"Enjoy whatever peace you currently have my playmate. Soon, it will come crashing down for both you and my spawn." Amplifier shudders before walking off, ignoring the other glares from the rest of the prisoners. Only jumping slightly when Kavu bashed his fist on his cell.
"Yeah he's been doing that ever since he arrived." Brock said. "The only he stopped is when it's meal time."
"At least he's not skipping meals." Mr. Cuddles said.
"Here's Mirage's cell." Brock said as he gestured to an empty cell.
The three look around the cell for any clues but only find a book.
"Nothing here dudes." Amplifier comments. "What I don't understand is how she got out and there's only one dead guard. When Aroma and Rubbor escaped, they injured several guards. How come we only have one?"
"That's a good question. Maybe her cell mates can give us the answers we seek." Mr. Cuddles said.
"Easier said than done." Amplifier muttered. "A quick reminder that everyone here hates me!" Road Hazard looks around and turns to a cell not far from Mirage's. He walks over to see Warfare sitting inside. However he no longer had his cybernetic eye and had an eyepatch on instead.
"Well, well. If it isn't my little biker friend." Warfare taunted. "What do I owe the pleasure of this visit?"
"You know what happened to Mirage?" Road Hazard asked. Warfare scoffed.
"Maybe I do, maybe I don't." Warfare answered. "What's in it for me?"
"Simple." Road Hazard replied before aggressively slamming his fist on the bars. "You don't have to visit the infirmary for every bone in your bone being broken." Warfare scoffs again and walks up to the bars.
"Please. I was a soldier." Warfare said. "I have been threatened with far worse than a few broken bones. So try again biker bitch." Road Hazard glares at him before smirking. He then proceeded to grab Warfare and yanked him face first into the bars.
"How's that Soldier boy?" Road Hazard growled. "Now what happened to Mirage?"
"Some guy walked to her cell and shot a tranquilizer dart and was dragged to his car." Warfare said.
"That the story you going with punk?" Road Hazard growled as he was about to slam Warfare against the bars again. "You expect me to believe that a random guy walked up to her cell and shot her with a tranquilizer dart?" Warfare started to sweat before sighing.
"Ok. It didn't exactly happen like that." Warfare says. "A guard approached Mirage's cell and told her she had a visitor. Obviously it was strange because we don't get visitors. Anyways, the guard escorted her away and that's when I heard the tranquilizer dart." Road Hazard let's out a growl but Amplifier and Mr. Cuddles stepped in.
"Easy dude." Amplifier tells him. "Chill." She turns to Warfare. "How is it you can hear a tranquilizer dart fire from far away?"
"When I lost my eye, I had to train my other senses to help make up for losing my eye." Warfare explained. "I always pushed my hearing to it's limits so I can hear stuff from a mile away."
"The guard that escorted her, was that the same guard that was murdered?" Mr. Cuddles asked. Warfare nods. "Ok. Well we know one thing, Mirage didn't kill the guard. But who did? And on top of that, who was her visitor?" He turns to Warfare. "For your cooperation, I'll work on getting some years taken off your sentence. How long you serving?"
"Life." Warfare replied.
"Huh." Mr. Cuddles responded. "Um, would you accept extra tv time?"
"This is Jenny Snart, we got new update about the Metahuman named Mirage's escape from the Dungeon. We have one witness. Another Metahuman named Warfare." Jenny reported.
A picture of Warfare's mugshot appears next to Snart. "According to Warfare, Mirage was kidnapped from the Dungeon which resulted in a guard's death." Jenny continued. "However due to Warfare's intensive criminal history, everything he says has been taken with a hint of salt. We'll have more on this story a five." The screen turns black at Soothsayer stares at the monitor.
"This is most concerning." Soothsayer said as he stroked his beard. He hears an engine and sees the L-Monster pull into the base. Once the truck stops, Daniel, Luna and Mr. Cuddles climbed out but they were also joined by Lynn, Lincoln and Lucy.
"So Mirage was kidnapped by someone. That's just wild man." Lynn was saying as she climbed down from the L-Monster.
"From prison nonetheless." Lincoln added. "Guy must be a genius to pull this off."
"Or a mad man with a death wish." Lucy said.
"It has to be Mercer. That guard must have died so he can cover his tracks." Lincoln theorized.
"It is a possibility." Luna says. "But we don't know for sure. Perhaps we should visit Cheat."
"A risky idea Luna." Soothsayer comments. "But not a bad one. Perhaps we should ask an expert on risks." He stands aside to reveal none other than Lana.
"Lana?!" The Louds exclaimed.
"Guys!" Lana shouted excitedly. "I'm home!" Lana immediately runs towards her siblings where Luna immediately scoops her up. They then do a group hug with the rest of the siblings.
"I take it this was your little errand." Mr. Cuddles says as he walks up to Soothsayer.
"Yes, I asked Lana to put her training on hold to assist us with this mission." Soothsayer replied.
"Plus Master Komu said I could continue my training with Soothsayer because I currently learned what I could up to this point. Or at least until I turn into new mythical animals." Lana added. "But I missed you guys!"
"Missed you too Lans." Lynn says. "Did you see Lori?" Lana nodded excitedly.
"Yeah! We hung out when we weren't training." She told them. "But now I'm home!" She turns to Lucy. "How's your training with Jack going?"
"Pretty wicked." Lucy said. "I'm just not at the same level as Jack."
"I doubt you will ever get to that level Lucy but he will definitely increase your power." Soothsayer tells her. "But we're getting off topic. Luna, are you sure you want to visit Cheat? It could be risky."
"I know dude. But he's the only one we know who has the answers we need." Luna said.
"We always beat that discount Gambit at his own game." Lincoln said.
"True but that discount Gambit almost beat you at your own game." Mr. Cuddles pointed out. "You can't underestimate him."
"He's right dudes." Luna said. "Cheat is dangerous and we've seen first hand what he's capable of. We gotta go in there with clear heads."
"Says the girl who doesn't have an alien symbiote living in his body." Daniel scoffed. "Seriously, how bad can this guy be?"
"Ok. I stand corrected." Road Hazard says. He was currently standing outside the abandoned supermarket along with the L-Crew. "Anyone who willing lives here ain't right in the head."
This shows nothing. We haven't even seen him yet.
"Let's head inside." Amplifier said as she and the rest of the group walked inside the abandoned supermarket .
They see Cheat sitting at his table shuffling a deck cards as they approached. As they got closer they noticed that he now was wearing a leather trenchcoat.
"Nice jacket." Parkour comments. Cheat stops shuffling and smirks at her.
"Won it in a game." Cheat says. "Now what do I owe the pleasure of having the L-Crew once again in my home?"
"We want answers about Mirage and who took her." Amplifier said.
"You know the rules. You must beat me at my own game before I give you the answers you seek." Cheat stated.
"Fine." Amplifier groaned. "But I know your game as well. Which one of us do you want to play?" Cheat smirks and looks them all over before his rest on Road Hazard.
"How about our biker friend?" Cheat says.
"Me?" Road Hazard asked.
"Well don't be shy. Come on down." Cheat replied.
Let's just eat him.
"We're not eating him." Road Hazard growled. "We need him."
Fine. Let's get this over with.
Road Hazard approached the table and Cheat spread out the cards.
"Pick a card. Two through ten mean I win. Ace, Jack, Queen and King mean you win." Cheat explains. "Pick wisely." Road Hazard looks at the cards and goes for the one on the far right.
Not that one.
Road Hazard stops. "Why?" He asks.
Trust me. That is not the one you want. Pick the third card from the left.
"You better be right about this." Road Hazard mumbled as he picked the 3rd card from the left.
"Show me your card." Cheat said right when Road Hazard showed Cheat, the Queen of Hearts.
"This means I win right?" Road Hazard asks.
"Indeed it does." Cheat replied. "Now, how can I be of service?"
"It's about Mirage's abduction from the Dungeon last night. You wouldn't happen to know anything about it?" Amplifier asked.
"Ah yes. Laura Stevens aka Mirage." Cheat says. "I'm well aware of the abduction as well as who did the abducting. Have you ever heard of a cult?"
"Yes." Everyone answers.
"Well recently, Royal Woods seems to gained a cult." Cheat continued as he leaned on the table where Road Hazard clearly saw his red eyes. "This cult is very anti-meta human and worship a god that they believe to be their savior and will wipe out meta humans all over the country. They've kidnapped Mirage to essentially sacrifice her to this so called God thinking it will please him. They're actually meeting at an old movie theater downtown."
"Thanks Cheat." Amplifier says before turning to her team. "C'mon dudes. Let's head back to base to figure out a plan." They all start walking out.
"Oh Road Hazard." Cheat called out causing the biker to stop in his tracks. "I suggest you and your friend be careful on this mission. Who knows how it'll effect you." Road Hazard stiffened before walking out of the supermarket.
I know see why the L-Crew are weary of him.
"You said it pal." Road Hazard agreed.
The L-Monster and the Road Rage are driving down to the old theatre. "I never thought we would be dealing with a cult let alone a meta human hating cult." Amplifier said.
"Just be lucky we're not dealing with Sentinels or something." Firecracker said.
"That's the second X-Men reference you made so far bro." Parkour said.
"So again, tell me what the plan is?" Road Hazard asked from inside the Road Rage.
"Simple. You'll go in undercover like you joined the cult." Wildgirl explained. "And when they reveal Mirage, you signal us and we storm it while you save her."
"Ok but why me?" Road Hazard asked.
"Well normally we'd have Ryker do it because he looks more human and not like a bodybuilder but he's doing a different job for us." Black Ice explained.
"Listen dude, you go in, find Mirage and then signal us." Amplifier told him. "In and out. Then we take them all down!"
"Alright sounds simple." Road Hazard said.
"Also don't let your buddy blow your cover." Firecracker said.
What is he trying to say?
"Don't worry about it." Road Hazard replied as he pressed his watch to go back to his civilian clothes where he puts on a baseball hat and sunglasses.
"Good luck in there Road Hazard." Amplifier said.
"Thanks. Gonna need it." Road Hazard replied as he entered the theater. He walked down the hallway until he saw a room that a bunch of people were walking into.
Looks like that's where we need to go.
"Alright. Let's go in and find Mirage." Road Hazard said as he walked towards the room.
Then we get to bite some heads off.
"No, these are just normal people. With different views and such." Road Hazard protested.
They want to kill meta humans! Do you not think they should suffer?
"I'm not arguing with you on that." Road Hazard says. "How about this? You can eat the head off the leader."
Excellent!
"We just need to find Mirage first." Road Hazard said.
They step into the room and they see it's fully packed with every seat filled with some people standing along the edge.
How many people are here?
"More than we originally thought." Road Hazard answered grimly.
I'm sure the L-Crew will handle it.
"Yeah, we just need to ask one of them where's Mirage is being held." Road Hazard stated.
Soon a man with fair skin and a gray beard wearing a suit walked onto the stage to a loud round of applause by the crowd.
"My friends, over the past several months meta humans have popped up and changed our lives for worse not the better." The man started. "Just a week I was begging for money until I saw something that changed my life and decided to devote my life to it and you my loyal followers decided to join me in my cause. Now I, Deacon Murkoff, have decided it is time to act under the name of our new God!" He pulls out a remote and presses a button turning on a projector which shows a picture of a familiar green creature.
"You've gotta be kidding me." Road Hazard whispered.
That's us! They think we're a God!
"Because we are The Children of the Green Ooze!" Deacon ranted. "The only ones brave enough to stand against the meta humans! To do that we must appease our God so that he will lend us his power to destroy them and for that we must provide a sacrifice! One that I have provided." He snaps his fingers and a couple of men walk out wheeling someone tied to a dolley with a sheet over them. "Behold! Our sacrifice!" He pulls the sheet to reveal Mirage tied to the dolley with a piece of tape across her mouth and a hi-tech collar around her neck.
"Shit. It's Mirage." Road Hazard whispered.
He must've kidnapped her! We must save her!
Green ooze starts going down Road Hazard's arm. "No don't." Road Hazard growled. "We can't just rush down there! They could kill her before we even get to her. But I do have an idea." He quietly steps out of the room as Murkoff continues.
"Now my brothers and sisters!" Murkoff continues as he pulls out a dagger. "I shall sacrifice this meta human filth to appease our God!" Mirage's eyes widen as Murkoff raises the dagger. Suddenly, something crashes through the roof and lands next to Murkoff. The creature stands up to reveal Fury. "Our Lord! The one who will save us from the meta human filth! All hail!" He gets to his knees and bows down along with everyone in the room. Fury meanwhile was bewildered but still went with Road Hazard's plan.
"Er yes. I'm your God! Who has summoned me?" Fury shouted.
"It's him! Our God!" Murkoff said as he got up. "Have you come to witness our sacrifice to please you?"
"Um, yes." Fury replied. "But tell me my children. Who will be your next sacrifice to please me?"
"The L-Crew obviously." Murkoff replied with no hesitation. "But first we will sacrifice Mirage for you our dear God!"
This guy is something else. Fury, we need to get Mirage out of here.
"I'm working on it." Fury muttered. "How about I just take the sacrifice to to go?" Murkoff looks at Fury confused.
"Why take her to go? Why not finish her here?" Murkoff asked.
"I want to finish herself." Fury lied. "Yes, saves you the trouble from cleaning up blood off your table and blade."
"What a kind and thoughtful god you are!" Murkoff exclaimed. "But this place is abandoned so we don't care. Kill her here!"
"Kill her! Kill her! Kill her!" The crowd chanted.
They aren't leaving us a lot of options.
"Got a plan?" Fury whispered.
I'm thinking of one!
"Wait!" Fury shouted as the cult members stopped chanting. "I can make her normal!"
"You can?" Someone in the crowd shouts.
"Yes." Fury lies. "I just need to free her." Murkoff looks at him confused when Road Hazard's watch goes off from inside Fury.
"Road Hazard, are you good? Did you find Mirage?" Fury freezes up as he's about to free Mirage. He slowly turns his head to see everyone in the room glaring at him.
"Um, bow down to me?" Fury tries.
"Who was that?" A cult member asked.
"Some other god from another cult. You won't know them." Fury lied,
"He's a phony!" Another cult member shouted.
"He's not our god!" A third cult member shouted. Fury started to get uneasy.
"I mean technically that's a picture of us so it's not untrue." Fury tried to reason but to no avail. "Aw screw it. I got Mirage! Get in here!" He grabs Mirage and leaps up to an upper level of the theater right as one of the theater walls comes crashing down.
"Hey bozos!" The smoke cleared to reveal the L-Crew. "Your culting days are over!" Parkour proclaimed.
"It's the L-Crew!" One of the cult members shouted.
"We're putting an end to this cult." Firecracker said.
"Kill them!" Murkoff commanded.
The cult members all charge at the L-Crew who run to meet them. Meanwhile, Fury gently places down Mirage and let's Road Hazard take control. When the ooze completely goes back inside of Road Hazard's body, Mirage's eyes widen.
"You alright?" Road Hazard asked as he pulled the tape off her mouth.
"I'll be better once I'm out of here." Mirage answered. Road Hazard nods and starts untying her. "So, who's your friend?"
"It's a long story." Road Hazard said as she untied Mirage's hands.
"I never thought I would be happy to see the L-Crew here." Mirage replied.
"Well they're the only reason you have a chance of getting out of here." Road Hazard told her. "And if you think I'm taking that collar off you, think again." Mirage looks at him with a pout.
"You're no fun." Mirage says. "But I do owe you something for saving me." She leans in and gives him a quick peck on the lips. "Something to look forward too." She walks off, leaving Road Hazard dumbfounded.
I like her.
"Shut up." Road Hazard muttered. "C'mon. We got work to do." He then walks after Mirage.
Down on the main floor, the L-Crew were working on fighting off cult members now aided by Petty and Tongri.
"These dudes keep coming!" Amplifier shouted as she punched a cult member. Another tries to attack her from behind but Petty grabs him before he can reach her.
"Thanks big guy." Amplifier said as she elbows another cult member in the face.
Firecracker shot two fireballs at the ground near two cult members giving them a warning. But then Parkour tackles the two cult members. "Those were mine." Firecracker said as he crossed his arms, Parkour just smirks and shrugs.
Black Ice hits three cult members with an ice hammer before freezing another group of them with an ice blast. Wildgirl goes bull and starts bucking every cult member in her way.
"Seems like you haven't lost a step." Black Ice comments as she hits another cult member.
"Master Komu runs a strict camp." Wildgirl replied before going gorilla and uppercutting another cult member. As more cult members rush the L-Crew, Mirage drops down from the upper levels.
"So you all think that you could kidnap me and then try to sacrifice me and not face consequences?" Mirage growled. She grabs a nearby broom and break off the head. "You're sorely mistaken."
The cult members all try to attack Mirage, but they were taken down by Mirage smacking them with the broken broom stick. After she finished off the last of the group, she twirls the stick and pounds it on the ground.
Damn! She's good!
"What a woman." Road Hazard whispered to himself.
My turn!
Green ooze starts coating Road Hazard's body as Fury took control. He leaps down and starts attacking cult members. He swats one into a wall before hitting another with a tendril that sends him flying.
"Death to the false God.!" One of the cult members shouted as he ran up to Fury only to get a back hand slap from him.
"He must have a weakness?" Murkoff thought.
As he watched the fight he noticed that every time Firecracker threw a fireball near Fury, the large creature flinched a little.
"Fire. The false God's weakness is fire!" Murkoff explained. He grabs a nearby stick and put it in a nearby fire.
Some of the cult members started picking sticks and lighting them up and they surrounded Fury with the flames. "Shit." Fury muttered.
"Fury's in trouble." Black Ice said as she knocked out a cult member with a icy blast.
"This is where the false god falls!" Murkoff shouted. They start waving the flames at Fury only for several of the cult members to get hit by an ice blast.
"Don't even try." Black Ice growled. Murkoff scowls but gets picked up by Fury.
"We're going to eat your head." Fury growled. Murkoff eyes widen.
"No please!" Murkoff begged before jabbing Fury with his burning stick causing Fury to roar in pain which caused Fury to temporarily separate from Road Hazard who also was shouting in pain. Some of Fury's body drips onto Murkoff and starts covering his body.
"What is this?" Murkoff shouted. The ooze finishes covering Murkoff and in it's place stood a leaner and taller version of Fury.
"Fury, what the hell just happened?" Road Hazard asked as Fury tried to pull himself together.
Um, well, remember how I said that my species can reproduce?
"Yeah." Road Hazard responded, not liking where this was going.
Well, technically speaking, that's my spawn.
Road Hazard let's out a sigh. "I was not ready for today."
"And you still won't be." The new symbiote growled. "You can call us, Occult father."
"We ain't nobody's daddy pal." Road Hazard responded as Fury took over.
"Now, I'm going to ground you." Fury snarled. He let's out a roar and the two symbiotes charge at each other.
"Now this is a interesting turn of events." Mirage says as she chokes out a cult member. She looks in his pocket and sees the remote for her collar. "Now isn't this a sight." She grabs the remote and presses a button that releases the collar off her neck where she then feels her powers coming back to her. "Awe. Hello beautiful. How I've missed you." She glances at the two fighting symbiotes. "Hmm. I could get revenge on the man who kidnapped me." She turns to where Amplifier blasted a group of cult members. "Or I could get revenge on the annoying brats who put me behind bars which allowed me to get kidnapped in the first place. Decisions, decisions. I could do the morally right thing, but morals have never been my thing." Her body becomes engulfed in a dark aura and flies at Amplifier. "Payback time brat!" Amplifier looks up from where's she's fighting cult members and sees Mirage flying towards her.
"Really dude?" Amplifier groaned before Mirage crashed into her sending them through a wall.
"Mama!" Petty shouted before chasing after them with Tongri not far behind.
"Amplifier!" Firecracker shouted. He's about to go after them when Black Ice stops him.
"Amplifier can handle Mirage." Black Ice told him. "Right now your powers are the only thing that can harm the symbiotes so we need you here."
"Right! I'm on it!" Firecracker said as he flew towards Fury and Occult. "I'm the only one to kill these things." Firecracker looked ahead and sees the two symbiotes fighting. Fury tossed Occult into a wall, but Occult lunged towards Fury and bites his shoulder.
"Is that all you have?" Occult taunted as he slammed Fury to the ground. "We thought you'd be stronger." Fury gets to his feet and snarled.
"We're only getting warmed up!" Fury snarled.
Occult looked up and sees Firecracker holding up a giant fireball. "This ends here." Firecracker said as he threw the fireball at Occult.
Occult eyes widen as the fireball comes towards him.
"You think that will stop us?" Occult shouted. "Think again!" He quickly forms a barrier around himself while Fury gets out of range of the fireball.
"What is he doing? That barrier won't protect him." Fury growled.
Unless it's a distraction.
"If so. We need to time this or we'll be burnt." Fury said.
The flames spread out and Occult is nowhere to be seen. In it's place is a hole. "That's not good." Firecracker says. "Where'd he go?"
"Right here boy!" Firecracker looks behind him and before he can react, he's hit by a flying chair knocking him out of the air. "How'd you like that?"
"As much as you liked this!" Fury growled as he dropkicked Occult sending him sliding back.
"You think you can win father?" Occult mocked. "The human I merged with is begging me to just kill you but I'd rather play with my food."
"I'm not on the menu. Flame on! Firecracker shouted as his hand ignite and the fire spread to his arms. "I always wanted to say that." Firecracker then flew toward Occult.
"Easy with those flames Pyro or you'll burn us as well!" Fury growled.
"No worries!" Firecracker assured him. "I only have one target!" Occult tries to avoid Firecracker but Fury grabs him with tendrils.
"You won't escape!" Fury roared.
"No! You will not separate us!" Occult shouted as he tried to break free from Fury's tendrils.
End this now buddy!
Fury with a roar tossed Occult towards Firecracker who then shot a massive fire blast at Occult who screamed in agony as he separated from Murkoff. Fury grabs the ooze that was once Occult and absorbed it back into his body. Fury then turned his attention to Murkoff.
Fury grabbed Murkoff by his neck and lifted him up to his eye level. "Don't kill me. I just want to get rid of the scum known as Meta humans. They are threat to us all." Murkoff said.
Fury pulled back his face to reveal Road Hazard. "They're not all bad. Some of them are my friends." Road hazard stated.
"They've brainwashed you into believing that!" Murkoff shouted. "Meta humans need to be dealt with!" Road Hazard sighs.
"Well I tried. Fury he's all yours." Road Hazard said as Fury's face returned.
"Fuck this guy!" Fury shouted before biting his head off.
Firecracker cringed in disgust right when Fury tossed Murkoff's headless body to the ground. "Ok now that's done. Let's get Mirage." Firecracker said.
"We will avenge our leader!" A cult member shouted before getting punched by Wildgirl as gorilla.
"After we deal with these punks." Firecracker sighed.
In another part of the theater, Mirage and Amplifier's fists clashed as they fought causing the two the slide back.
"So we save your ass and as a thank you, you try to kills us." Amplifier growled. "That's messed up dude." Mirage smirks.
"It may be but you can't say I'm not committed to my goals." Mirage responds. "Now come on! Show me how powerful you really are!"
"I'll show you my full power!" Amplifier said as she flew up in the air and shot a powerful electric blast at Mirage, but she dodged the blast right before it hits her.
"You look stronger than when we first captured you." Mirage taunted,
"Easy for you to say." Amplifier retorted. "We surrendered. We never fought and when we did fight you, we were almost drained!" She shoots another electric blast at Mirage who blocks it with a dark barrier.
"Oh yes. I remember it like it was yesterday." Mirage chuckled as two shadow hands emerged from the ground to grab Amplifier.
Amplifier let's out a growl before discharging electricity, freeing her from the dark hands.
"Listen dude, I get that you hate our guts but seriously!" Amplifier argued. "We saved you! Plus you had an opportunity to take out Murkoff but you chose to fight me!"
"Like I said, I'm petty." Mirage responded.
"No. Me Petty!" Mirage let's out a hum as she sees Petty rushing at her with his fist back. Petty swings at her but she dodges with ease.
"Oh. It's the strange creature that beat the Tankbot." Mirage says. "How annoying."
"Petty not annoying!" Petty stated.
"I might as well kill the both of you." Mirage said right before she brought up a pair of shadow claws.
Tongri walks up next to Petty and snarls. "Petty not afraid of you!" Petty growled.
"Then face me." Mirage said as she lunged towards Petty,
Petty runs to meet her. He throws a right hand but Mirage dodges with ease before blasting him in the stomach close range with dark energy. Tongri tries to pounce on her but she puts up a barrier stopping him.
Petty started punching the barrier but it wasn't cracking, until Mirage used the barrier to push back Petty. Amplifier charged towards Mirage with a ball of electricity in her right hand and hit her with it.
Mirage slid back with a growl. "You'll suffer for that!" She says. Mirage then creates several portals surrounding Amplifier. Mirage then creates four portals in front of herself. "Let's see how you like this!" She punches through on of her portals causing her fist to come out of one of the portals by Amplifier, hitting her in the back of the head.
Amplifier turned around to face Mirage, but she was smacked on the back of her head again. Mirage repeated the process of attack multiple times, but in different parts of Amplifier's body.
Petty's eyes widen from behind the dark barrier as he watched Amplifier get punched repeatedly from all around her.
"MAMA!" Petty shouted. He then started slamming his fists on the dark barrier.
Look at her. Your mother is being beaten by a lesser opponent and all you can do is just watch. Pathetic. I thought you were stronger than this.
"Petty is strong!" Petty said.
Then prove yourself! Take this bitch down!
"Petty." Petty growled as he lifted his fists. "SMASH!" He brings his fists down smashing the dark barrier trapping him. He let's out a roar and charges at Mirage.
"What the hell?!" Mirage gasped.
Mirage tries to put up a barrier but Petty punched through the barrier and beat up Mirage. Tongri backed away at the sight of Petty beating up Mirage. Amplifier looked up and see Petty slamming Mirage on the ground. She was coughing up blood with each beating.
"Petty." Amplifier gasped. She then attempts to approach the rubber monster who slams Mirage down. "Petty, you need to stop!"
Petty didn't listen to Amplifier and continued to beat up Mirage and then began to choke her. "Stop please." Mirage begged as she was being choked.
That's it. Finish her! Crush her throat!
Petty growls and continues to squeeze but suddenly feels a hand on his shoulder. He turns his head with a growl but stops when he sees Amplifier.
"Petty. Let go." Amplifier ordered firmly. Petty looks down and saw where his hands were and Mirage almost unconscious. He immediately removes his hands allowing Mirage to catch her breath. While that's happening, Petty looked at his hands and saw blood.
"What Petty?" Petty whispered. Amplifier looked up at him.
"You saved me." Amplifier assured him while Tongri rubbed his head on Petty's leg in comfort. "That's what you did."
"Petty didn't mean to kill her." Petty stated as they looked at Mirage's unconscious body. Amplifier kneed down and checked her pulse by placing two fingers on her wrist.
"She's still alive dude." Amplifier said.
Petty perked up a little and let's out a sigh of relief. "Petty no kill?" He asks quietly. Amplifier placed a comforting hand on his shoulder.
"Petty no kill." Amplifier confirmed.
The police have arrived to arrest the cult members and Mirage who was still unconscious being loaded into police vans to be taken to prison.
"Well this is quite the interesting situation." Haggar says to Amplifier. "We apparently had a cult that was worshipping that creature that showed up a week ago to fight that mech. On top of that they somehow kidnapped Mirage in an attempt to sacrifice her to said creature only to find out he wasn't a God. That sound about right so far?"
"So far dude." Amplifier answered.
"And I assume the headless corpse is the cult leader?" Haggar asked gesturing to the body bag being carried out.
"Yep." Amplifier replied. Haggar sighed.
"This paperwork is going to be fun." He says. "Eithed way, good job. Stopped a cult and recaptured an escaped prisoner even though technically she was kidnapped. Seeing that she has electrical burns on her body, I assume she was very grateful?"
"Yeah in her own way." Amplifier said. "I returned the favour." Amplifier said.
"Well a job well done L-Crew." Haggar said,
"I'm not gonna lie. Fighting against a cult is the most metal thing I've been in." Parkour said.
"Well hopefully the cult won't cause any problems for people anymore." Haggar says. "But if it does, I think we can handle it."
"Sounds good chief." Amplifier said. "We'll see you around."
The L-Crew all got into the L-Monster and drove off. Road Hazard entered the Road rage and sighed. "What a night." Road Hazard said. "I doubt that cult will rise again."
If they come back, I will bite the new leader's head off.
"Sure you will pal." Road Hazard replied.
Also, is there concern that a fifteen year old is driving a monster truck?
"I mean, probably." Road Hazard responded. "Yeah we should probably catch up." He then speeds off after the L-Monster.
Mercer stepped out of Tetherby Industries carrying a file in his hand.
"Don't know why he wants me to look into the strange creature that fought that mech." Mercer muttered. "It isn't like anything it did affected us." He gets into his car and drives off. Unknown to him he was being followed from a distance. Mercer continued driving until he arrived at his destination: an old asylum. He got out of his car and approached the building. Unknown to him, leaning against a nearby building smoking a cigar stood the man that was following him. After taking a puff of his cigar he activated his watch.
"Hey Cuddles. It's Ryker." Ryker says. "Tell the kids that I found Mercer."
"You got it!" Mr. Cuddles said. "It's time we take Mercer down." Mr. Cuddles replied as he began to call the L-Crew.
Smoke: Hey everyone. I'm glad you liked the chapter. We originally had a different chapter planned out. But we swapped it out for a cult chapter, this is something we haven't done before. We might do more chapters where the L-Crew face against regular humans. But this will be the last update for now, because I'm heading to London, England on Friday. I'm going to be down there for a week. Please read and review.
