Chapter 18: Broken:
Sonic's POV:
We got all seven Chaos Emeralds. Each one with its own power, Invisibility, Invincibility, Immortality, Life, Mind, Gravity, and Time. We had to keep them away from Dr. Eggman, who is a scientist working for G.U.N. and might have a connection to Dr. Robotnik. Anyway, now, all seven are locked up.
"What do we do now," asks Amy.
"We could use ze emerahlds to get bahck hahme," Antoine suggests.
"They don't work like that," says Knuckles, "we'd need the Master Emerald itself."
"And you haven't had any visions of where that is," asks Espio.
"So far, no," says Knuckles.
"Well, I guess we can just rest," says Mina.
We then walked away.
. . .
Tails was working on his plane.
"Hey Sonic, where'd Tails learn this tech stuff," asks Scar.
"From our friend, a walrus named Rotor," I said, "he taught Tails everything he knows."
Then Knuckles came in. "I had a vision!"
. . .
We arrived at Tokyo.
"So, you really had a vision of the Master Emerald," I asked.
"Yeah," says Knuckles, "it's somewhere in this city!"
"Then what are we waiting for," I asked.
I then ran.

We started searching the city. Tails and I were checking Tokyo Tower.
"So far, nothing," I said.
"Yeah," says Tails.
Then something kicked us down. We looked and it was Rouge the Bat. "Later boys," says Rouge as she flies off.
"We may have another problem," I said.

I told the others about how Tails and I ran into Rouge, so now we really need to find the Emerald. Rouge isn't exactly gonna ignore an emerald the size of a boulder.
"It has to be somewhere," says Tails.
"No kidding," says Scar.
"When did you get here," I asked.
"Hey guys," says Tails, "there's something strange about that building."
It was running better then everything else in the city. So, we decided to check it out.

We snuck into the building and checked the map.
"The power's coming from the basement," says Tails.
"Then that's where we gotta go," I said.
. . .
We headed for the basement and that's when we saw the engine.
"It has to be in there," says Scar.
"Thanks," says Rouge, as she reveals she's been following us, "you've been a big help."
"How'd you even know about the emerald," I asked.
"I have my ways," says Rouge, "now, out of my way!"
Rouge tried to kick me, and I had to fight back, but she has one advantage... the fact that she's a lady. Then something knocks Rouge out. We looked and it was Rotor.
"Hey guys," says Rotor.
"Rotor," says Tails.
"Alright," I said.
. . .
"So, when I got here, I saw what was powering this building," says Rotor, "the Master Emerald."
"But what does this building do," asks Scar.
"That I haven't figured out," says Rotor.
"Well, we better get the Emerald before Sleeping Batty wakes up," I said.
"There's one problem," says Rotor.
The problem is... none of us can read Japanese.
"I'm sure we can figure it out," says Scar as she starts pressing all the buttons. Then a door opens, and an enormous black-and-gray robot comes out. It has a roughly humanoid stature somewhat reminiscent of a Soldier, with a broad torso and large shoulders compared to its thin limbs and lower body. Its arms end in three-fingered hands, while its legs terminate in rounded stumps. Its head consists mainly of a massive mouth with multiple nested jaws of squared teeth; a pair of protrusions extend from its chin, and it has a somewhat long neck that gives it a slightly hunched or bestial appearance. Red energy courses through various lines on its body, and it has several indentations resembling simple eyes. Its back and shoulders are covered with circular red pillars topped with silver discs.
"She always do this," asks Rotor.
The robot then attempts to attack us.
"How do we beat Giganto," asks Scar. We all look at her. "Well, it fits, doesn't it?"
I tried to do my usual thing, a spin dash and then hit the robot on the head, but this thing was way too big. So that's not gonna work?
"Tails, you and I could probably hack into that thing," says Rotor.
"Let's go," says Tails.
"I'll keep Giganto busy," I said.
I then distracted Giganto while Tails and Rotor look for the computer. Giganto then grabs me and just as it was about to smash me... it stopped moving. I looked and saw it was Rouge who saved me. "You're welcome," says Rouge.
. . .
We then all opened the chamber and saw the emerald... but...
"It's smaller than I remember," says Tails.
"That's because it's not the Master Emerald," says Rotor, "just a shard."
"The emerald must've shattered," I said.
Rouge then takes the shard. "Bye." She blows us a kiss and flies away.
"Unfortunately, I'm too tired," I said.
. . .
We were back at Section Twelve.
"The Master Emerald's in pieces," asks Knuckles.
"Aht least we hahve Rahtor bahck," says Antoine.
"It's good to see you all again," says Rotor.
"Next time, we're gonna get that shard back and all the other shards," I said.
In the next chapter, Sonic and the others look for the Lost Treasure of Captain Silver.
