Chapter 29: Water:
Sonic's POV:
Tails and I were waiting for another one of Knuckles' visions.
"Well," I asked.
"Would guys stop rushing me," says Knuckles, "that's not how it works! I... I... I... oh, wait, I'm getting a vision of the Pink Chaos Emerald!"
"That has the mind powers," says Tails.
"Then what are we waiting for," I asked.
. . .
The three of us arrived at the location, but...
"Wait, where are we," I asked.
"Looks like the Atlantic Ocean," says Tails.
"Are you kidding me," I asked, "tell me it's on an island!"
"No," says Knuckles, "it's underwater!"
"Tails, does this plane have a sub mode," I asked.
"No, but I did make these scuba suits," says Tails, "don't worry, Sonic, they can do the swimming for you."
"Alright," I said.
. . .
We were now traveling through the ocean, looking for the Pink Emerald.
"Remember, last time we found it, it trapped Sonic in a dream world," says Knuckles, "so try to avoid that."
"I wonder if we'll run into Eggman's goons," says Tails.
Something moves past us. It was Shadow. "You had to say something," I said. Shadow was heading for the emerald, so we had to get to it before he does.

We were looking for the emerald.
"Hey look," says Tails, "it's the N-Sub! That's a real legend!"
"Fascinating," says Knuckles, "but we have to find the emerald."
"The sooner the better," I said, "I'm just too uncomfortable down here!"
Shadow's POV:
I overheard them say that. So, Sonic doesn't like the water? I could use that.
Sonic's POV:
We were still moving, but then Shadow attacks us. We had to fight him off, but then he broke my suit.
"Sonic," says Tails.
I couldn't use it anymore... I... I... I...
. . .
I woke up and saw I was back in the plane.
"We got you out just in time," says Knuckles.
"Did one of you guys use CPR," I asked.
"We'd rather not answer that," says Tails.
"Tails and me are going after the Emerald," says Knuckles, "you can just stay up here."
"I can..."
"You can't swim and you're afraid of the water," says Knuckles, "and we can't let Shadow get to the emerald!"
"Fine," I said.
Tails and Knuckles then jump in the water.
Shadow's POV:
I had a call from Eggman.
"Have you found the emerald yet," asks Eggman.
"No, but I'm getting closer," I said.
"And what about Sonic," asks Eggman.
"Don't worry," I said, "he won't be a problem down here."
Knuckles' POV:
Tails and I were looking for the emerald. It's weird, but I can't sense it. I wonder why...
"I see something ahead," says Tails. It was a dolphin.
"It's just a dolphin," I said, "let's go."
"I think he's trying to tell us something," says Tails.
"It's just a fish," I said.
"Actually, dolphins are mammals like you and me," says Tails.
"Fine, it's just a fish adjacent," I said, "let's go."
Tails then follows the dolphin. I was getting annoyed, but I went with him.
Sonic's POV:
This was embarrassing. I had to stay up here. I wish there was something I can do. I was thinking about the sea and... wait... wait... wait... there was something about the N-Sub! There was a weird pink glow... the Emerald is in the Sub!
Knuckles' POV:
The Dolphin took us to a treasure chest and Shadow is trying to open it.
"Shadow," I said.
"What's in that chest," asks Tails.
"What do you think," asks Shadow, "the Chaos Emerald!"
I then attack him, and we have an underwater fight while Tails tries to open the chest.
"You will never get the emerald," I said.
"Shows what you know," says Shadow.
"The Emerald's not even in here," says Tails.
Turns out, it was just an ordinary treasure chest.
"What," asks Shadow, "what could I possibly do with this useless thing?"
"Is that a mermaid," I asked.
We all looked and saw the mermaid. "Maria," asks Shadow. He then follows the mermaid.
We then heard Sonic in our heads. "Guys come back to shore," says Sonic.
Sonic's POV:
"I had to hold my breath, but I dived down and took the Pink Emerald from the N-Sub," I said, "and used its mental powers to have a shark take me back to the surface."
"Then that mermaid was just an illusion," says Tails.
"Yep," I said, "now, let's go back to dry land."
Shadow's POV:
It wasn't a Maria Mermaid... it was just an illusion... Sonic! He used the emerald to mess with my head! I probably should be mad at him... but honestly... I'm more mad at myself. I'm an idiot.
In the next chapter, Sonic and Sally go to a casino.
