Chapter 31: Hill Top:

Dr. Eggman's POV:

I was in my secret headquarters in Metropolis. Even the Justice League have no idea that I'm here. Then my computer picked up something.

"Has another emerald been found," asks Shadow.

"Yes, it's located on Hill Top," I said, "that's the hill that's near Green Hills."

"I'm guessing that's where the name came from," says Shadow.

"Yep," I said, "can I trust you to find the emerald for me?"

"Of course you can," says Shadow.

Truth is, I'm not sure if I can trust him.

Sonic's POV:

Knuckles had another vision.

"The Purple Emerald is right on Hill Top," says Knuckles.

"Which one is that again," asks Scar.

"That's the power of Time, right," asks Carl.

"Bingo," I said, "you learn fast.

. . .

Tails, Knuckles, Stix, Amy, and I arrived at Hill Top.

"There's the town down there," says Stix.

"We just need to find the emerald," says Amy.

"Or we could find it," says Shadow as he, Rouge, Snively, Scratch, Grounder, and Coconuts show up.

"Great, you guys again," I said.

"And there's six of us and five of you," says Rouge.

"Yeah," says Knuckles, "you should get more."

We then took them on, but then Shadow and I both touched the emerald and then...

. . .

I woke up and saw I was still on Hill Top, but I looked down and saw the town looked different.

"Oh no," I said, "I traveled back in time again, didn't I?"

I was looking around. I'd say I was in the 1740's, when the town was founded.

"And here he is, the greatest demon hunter," says the Mayor.

He looked like a member of the Robotnik family. "And I present to you, my latest demon!" It was a goldfish. He was obviously scamming them.

"We were going to name our town based on that green hill that resides over us," says the Mayor, "but instead, let's name it Robotropolis!"

Back in this time, these guys hate and fear things that are different... even more than they do in my time. So, it's best if no one sees me.

"I SPY A DEMON! I SPY A DEMON! I SPY A DEMON! I SPY A DEMON! I SPY A DEMON! I SPY A DEMON! I SPY A DEMON!" Where did that familiar voice come from? Everyone looks and I had to think fast.

I ran and hid and threw my voice. "The demon is that rock over there!"

"Bravo, mysterious voice," says Demon Hunter Robotnik. I had to find the emerald and get out of here.

I was searching the town for the emerald when I saw something hidden, then I remembered I wasn't the only one who touched the emerald. I then ran to the shadows and pulled Shadow out.

"I guess you know that voice was me," says Shadow.

"That was low," I said.

"If it means getting rid of you while I look for the emerald," says Shadow, "then I don't mind being low."

"You won't find it if I find it first," I said.

"You'll be a little busy," says Shadow, "Chaos Control!" He then disappears.

"Demon," says Demon Hunter Robotnik.

"Uh-oh," I said, "wait, I'm not a demon!"

"Then what are you," asks Tom's ancestor.

I had no idea how to answer that one. "Look, a turkey!" They all looked. I guess they forgot it wasn't even Thanksgiving. I then ran.

Spider-Man: We have no intention of making fun of pilgrims. Thank you.

I needed a way to find the emerald, but then I thought I saw a demon... but it turned out to be a guy with a really bad sunburn. I then thought I saw another demon... but it was just a really ugly woman. I then saw the emerald in Demon Hunter Robotnik's pocket. I then ran to him. "Hey, that's my emerald!"

"Finder's Keeper's, Demon," says Demon Hunter Robotnik.

He then tried to stab me with a pitchfork, but I did a spin dash and he fell in a well and dropped the emerald.

"I hope that doesn't get me in anymore trouble," I said.

"The demon has killed our best demon hunter," says the Mayor.

"Wait," I said, "I'm not a demon! That guy in the shadows is!"

They all look, but they couldn't see, so I did a spindash that breaks the structure, exposing Shadow.

"He does look more demonic than you do," says the Mayor.

Shadow then attacks me, and we fought.

"Give me the emerald," says Shadow.

"Try and take it," I said.

I then ran and Shadow chased after me.

Shadow and I were on Hill Top, and we continued to fight, but then I won.

"I should leave you here," I said.

"If you do, who knows what damage I could do to history," says Shadow.

I then sighed. "Grab the emerald," I said.

We both touched it and activated its power.

. . .

Now we're back in our time and we see everyone else looking tired.

"We've been fighting for hours while we waited," says Stix.

"What took you so long," asks Rouge.

. . .

I told Carl about the adventure I had.

"That's amazing," says Carl.

"I know," I said, "and here's the well."

Then an elderly Demon Hunter Robotnik climbed out. "How long was I down there?" I then pushed him back in the well while grabbed Carl and we walked away.

The Mayor's POV:

The demons disappeared, but this day will not be forgotten. Since it was on the hill where they disappeared, we shall name this town Green Hills!

In the next chapter, the blue emerald is in a mystic cave.
