Chapter 37: Death Egg:

Sonic's POV:

So, to recap, because, you know, I do that, 50 years ago, Professor Gerald Robotnik created Shadow the Hedgehog to be the Ultimate Lifeform! Years later, he was discovered by Dr. Eggman. Eggman then had him go after the Chaos Emeralds after they get scattered again, but then Shadow decides to double-cross Eggman and now plans to destroy the Earth. Now, we have to journey to Space Colony ARK to take Shadow down. Shadow already has the chaos emeralds that have the power of invincibility, immortality, and gravity, but we have invisibility, life, mind, and time. First, we were sidetracked on G.U.N.'s Wing Fortress where we had to fight off against E-123 Omega, but that was taken care of. Now, we have to go to Space Colony ARK.

"There it is," says Tails. We saw it.

"I'm calling it the Death Egg," says Scar, "I'm trademarking it."

"And there's the Eggmobile," says Sally. We then parked the Blue Typhoon right next to it.

"Split up," I said, "then look for Shadow!" We did so.

Amy's POV:

I had Big and Cream and Cheese with me.

"This place sure is spooky," says Big.

"And so many doors," says Cream.

"Just keep an eye out," I said. We then saw some kind of security bot. "And that's why."

Vector's POV:

Espio, Mighty, and Charmy were with me.

"Maybe we can reason with him," suggests Mighty.

"The only language Shadow knows is fighting," says Espio.

"You and Shadow are actually a lot alike," says Charmy.

"Except he wishes to destroy the Earth," says Espio.

"Anyone hear something," I asked.

A security bot then shows up.

Sally's POV:

Bunnie, Antoine, Rotor, and Mina were with me.

"Will sahmebahdy hahld me?"

"With pleasure, Sugar," says Bunnie.

"We don't have time for that," I said.

"I think Sally's right," says Rotor.

"What makes you say that," asks Mina.

"He's why," says Rotor.

It was a security bot.

Julie-Su's POV:

Stix was with me.

"A base in space," says Stix, "that's just asking for aliens!"

"We're the only aliens here," I said.

"And the fact that we can easily enter only proves other aliens could come," says Stix.

The worst part is... that's a good point. Then a security bot came. "Great," I said.

Commander Towers' POV:

Rouge and I had the kids with us.

"Stay close," I said, "who knows what Shadow could have under his sleeves."

"Actually, he doesn't have... nevermind," says Billie.

"I hear something," says Rouge.

Security bots came.

Sonic's POV:

It was me, Tails, and Knuckles.

"This place sure has gotten old since the last time I was here," I said.

"From your point of you, it was just days ago," says Tails, "but for this place, it was 50 years."

"I hate time travel," says Knuckles.

I remember when Towers pointed out how this happened because I went back in time. He was right, I inspired Robotnik to create Shadow, so that makes this my responsibility. Shadow has to be taken down! We then ran into a security bot.

Dr. Eggman's POV:

Even if I do escape, I would still need to find a way to get my revenge on Shadow... wait, I know how! Yes! Yes! Yes! Now, I just need to get out of here!

Shadow's POV:

I watched the monitor. I knew those security bots would come in handy. Now, there will be no distractions. I was getting the Eclipse Cannon ready. I then placed my three chaos emeralds into it, but to make it work, I'm going to need all seven. I then looked at the monitor.

Amy's POV:

The security bot was getting closer. I then got out the Mind Emerald... but I couldn't use mental powers on something that didn't have a mind, so I just smashed it with my hammer. Then Shadow came out of no where and stole the Mind Emerald from me, kiss me on the lips, and then left.

Vector's POV:

We were still fighting the security bot, but then Espio uses the Time Emerald to make it disappear. "Where'd you send it," I asked.

"The Future," says Espio.

Security Bot's POV:

I was in a wasteland. I then saw what remained of the Statue of Liberty. "NEGATIVE! YOU FOOLS, YOU BLEW IT ALL UP! DARN YOU! DARN YOU ALL TO..."

"Hey, you mind getting off our movie set, we're trying to do a remake here."

Turns out, in the year 2073, they're going to try to redo Planet of the Apes.

Vector's POV:

Shadow then came and took the Time Emerald from us and left.

Julie-Su's POV:

Stix and I were fighting the security bot. I then used the power of invisibility to take it down. Then Shadow came and took the emerald from us and left.

Sally's POV:

"We must use our chaos emerahld to defeat ziss mechahneecahl menahce!"

"Our emerald only holds the power of life and I'm not sure how that's going to defeat this thing," I said.

"How can one of the most powerful emeralds also be the most useless," asks Bunnie.

"Bunnie, use your robot strength to beat it," says Rotor.

Bunnie does so, but then Shadow takes our emerald, punches Antoine, and leaves.

Sonic's POV:

I got a call from Amy, Vector, Julie-Su, and Sally, each telling me how Shadow took their emerald. That means he has a total of seven chaos emeralds! We have to stop him!

Dr. Eggman's POV:

I managed to escape. Now to find what I'm looking for... and I found it! Now, Shadow shall pay!

Shadow's POV:

I was getting the Eclipse Cannon ready.

"Shadow," says the G.U.N. Commander, "It's been a long time, Shadow."

"Am I supposed to know who you are," I asked.

"I know you... Shadow the Hedgehog! You killed everyone I loved: My family; Maria. I've been waiting all my life for this day!"

I then realized who he is. "Abe. Maria's friend. You've grown." He was about to attack, but I took him down. Rouge then tries to strike, but I took her down as well. "Nice try." I then went back to the cannon.

"Why are you doing this," asks the girl who looks like Maria.

"What do you mean," I asked.

"Why are you trying to destroy the Earth?"

"Because of a promise I made," I said, "a promise to Maria."

"What," asks the girl.

"Maria was like a sister to me, she was the only family I knew... and because of you she was killed! Witnessing it all, the plan to create that horrifying evil creature... that black creature and that insane professor who unleashed it all," says the Commander, "you don't fool me! It's not just about Maria! Thanks to you, everyone I knew and loved was killed when the ARK was destroyed! Worst of all, MY family! Finally... JUSTICE WILL BE SERVED!"

I then knocked him out. I couldn't care less what he thinks. The other two girls try to knock me down, but I just throw them to the wall. "Now, if you excuse me..."

"Wait, Sonic told me about Maria and... I don't think it makes sense for her to want you to destroy the world!"

"What do you mean," I asked.

"It's just that... the way Sonic described her... she sounds way too nice."

"You're just a dumb kid."

"Maybe if you think back."

I then thought about it.

Shadow's POV - Flashback:

"Shadow, I beg of you, please do it for me... for a better future! For all the people who live on that planet... give them a chance to be happy... Let them live for their dreams. Shadow, I know you can do it. That's the reason why you were brought into this world. Sayonara, Shadow... the Hedgehog."

Sahdow's POV - Present:

Maria didn't want me to destroy the world... she wanted me to protect it! I look at the Maria lookalike and I smiled at her as she was right to tell me to think about. I then heard something.

Sonic's POV:

Tails, Knuckles, and I were racing to find Shadow. "I sense the Chaos Emeralds," says Knuckles, "this way!"

Two security bots came. "Great," I said.

"Sonic, you go after Shadow," says Knuckles.

"We can handle these guys," says Tails.

"Okay," I said. I then ran.

. . .

As I ran, I found Dr. Eggman. "What are you doing," I asked.

"Waiting for my revenge to take place," says Eggman.

"What," I asked.

"You'll see," says Eggman.

I then ran past him.

. . .

I entered the room and saw Shadow fighting a big lizard thing. "What is that," I asked.

"Long story," says Shadow, "my big brother!"

"Not much of a family resemblance," I said.

"Its name is Biolizard," says Shadow, "it was Professor Robotnik's first attempt at creating the Ultimate Lifeform!"

"So, if it's fighting you, then it has to be on our side," I said.

"Sonic, it wants to kill us all," says Scar, "we were all terrified... well, Day, not so much, but the rest of us were! Oh, and Shadow's on our side now."

"What," I asked.

"Just help me beat this thing and then we can explain," says Shadow.

"Fine, but the explanation better be good," I said. Shadow and I then took on Biolizard. This thing was probably the strongest thing I have ever fought. Why did Robotnik decide to replace it with Shadow? Then Biolizard goes to the cannon and merges with it.

Yogi Bear: What?

. . .

"What do we do," asks Shadow.

I looked at where the Emeralds were. "I got an idea," I said, "we have to get to the Chaos Emeralds!"

"You two get to it," says Towers, "I'll try to cover you and good luck to both of you."

Shadow and I ran to the emeralds, and we touched them. "Now what," asks Shadow.

"Now, we go super," I said.

And with that, I, once again, became Super Sonic and Shadow became Super Shadow. "I'm not sure I like being a blonde," says Shadow.

"Just go with it," I said.

Just as the cannon is about to fire, Shadow and I combine our powers to destroy it, but then the whole place is going to blow.

"We gotta get everyone out of here," I said. Shadow didn't move. "Shadow?"

"Goodbye," says Shadow. He then blasted us away.

The ARK was destroyed, and we were all on the Blue Typhoon. Shadow sacrificed himself. "I don't know if you can hear me, Shadow," says Towers, "but I want to say I'm sorry. You cared for Maria probably more than I did. You were a true hero."

"Do you think he's really gone," asks Amy.

"I can't explain it," I said, "but I feel like he isn't."

I look and saw Scar was holding one of Shadow Golden Ring Bracelet with a sad look on her as she puts it on her wrist most likely to remember him.

Towers' POV:

We can't risk any other potential threats. Then I remembered how S.H.I.E.L.D. made the Avengers and I had an idea. "Parr, I want you to bring the E-123 Omega over to me." I already had Rouge and I'll have Omega. I just need one more.

Dr. Eggman's POV:

Snively and I were locked up on Prison Island. Scratch, Grounder, and Coconuts were reprogrammed to guard our cell. I was then thinking, robots can't beat that hedgehog, another hedgehog betrays me... maybe to beat Sonic... I need a robot hedgehog!

In the next chapter, Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles encounter the Demon Sorcerer of Darkness.
