Chapter 39: Sound:
Sonic's POV:
Sally and I were looking at the Master Emerald as it was glowing.
"What does that mean," asks Sally.
"Looks like we're gonna find out," I said.
It was an image of a woman. She resembles a siren, having wings like a bird and a tail like a mermaid. She has gray skin, sharp fangs, and red eyes. Her hair is green. She wears armor on her torso.
"Sonic, that might be another demon sorcerer," says Sally.
. . .
We talked to Uncle. "It is Sir'es the Sound Demon," says Uncle.
"The Master Emerald told us where she is," I said, "Norway!"
. . .
Tails, Knuckles, Sally, Uncle, and I arrived in Norway.
"... an' it nearly killed me an' me crew! it be real! the siren be real!"
"What is a siren," asks Sally.
"A mythical woman who lures sailors to their deaths by singing," says Uncle.
"Then this siren could be..." We then heard singing.
Sally's POV:
I then realized the guys were gone. They walked into a bar where sailors hang out.
"Yer mates be doomed," says a sailor, "I be warnin' ye... strange rodent thin'... stay away from the siren!"
"I have no time for this," I said. I then ran in.

I entered and I saw the woman performing. She looked a little like the demon. It has to be her!

She then created a sonic scream that nearly tore the whole place apart.
"What happened," asks Sonic.
"The demon," I said, "she can control men with her singing!"
"Uncle is a trained chi wizard! That could not work!"
"And yet, it did," I said, "and there's a sailor that might know something!"
Sonic's POV:
We then found where the sailor lives. I kicked the door down.
"Be gone, ye freaky animal things!"
"Who are you," I asked.
"Ye be not goin' to set sail until I tell ye the 'ole story, be ye? Fine, me name be Alston 'Barnacle' Brooks an' aye, I know the siren quite well."
"Did you two used to date," asks Tails.
"What? No! She be gay, ye fools! She killed me entire crew an' I 'ave feared 'er e'er since!"
"Siren is actually demon sorceress," says Uncle, "help us find her and we can get rid of her!"
"First, all sirens be demons as farrr as a sailor's concerned an' second, ye got yourselves a deal."
. . .
Barnacles then took us to the Demon's hideout, an icy mountain.
"We find her, and I'll use the Sword of Light to banish her," I said.
"And these ear plugs should keep you guys from turning to zombies," says Sally.
"If she's only interested in girls, why does her singing seduce men," asks Tails.
"Would you ask why I break stuff," asks Knuckles, "it's just how powers work."

We found the demon and she's sleeping. I then aimed the sword at her. "Say goodbye," I said. Nothing happens. "I don't get it; it works on the Demon of Darkness!"
"Wait, sword o' light, demon o' darkness... isn't it possible that there the sword o' light only works on the demon o' darkness?"
"Oh, I didn't think of that," I said.
The Demon then wakes up and uses a sonic scream, knocking us out of the mountain.

"Back to the drawing board," I said.
"Now what do we do," asks Tails.
"Hey, look at the sword," says Knuckles.
The sword then shows us an image of a pearl.
"The pearl o' 'armony? I thought it been a myth! legend says, sirens fearrr it!"
"Pearl of Harmony must be what banishes sound demon," says Uncle.
"Where is it," I asked. The sword points to the sea. "Of course."

Sally volunteers to go in the sea to get the pearl.
"Be careful," I said.
Sally kisses me on the cheek. "Unlike you, I usually am." She gets on her scuba gear and goes in the water.
Sally's POV:
I was going through the water, and I saw a golden oyster. I had a theory. I knocked on it and it opens, and I saw the Pearl of Harmony. I then quickly grabbed it and I saw to the surface, but the Sound Demon chased after me. I had to hurry.
Sonic's POV:
Sally jumped to the boat. "Good jump," I said.
"Thank you," says Sally, "the demon's coming!"
The demon comes and Sally aims the pearl at her. The pearl zaps the demon and sends her back to the Netherworld.
. . .
We hung with Barnacles at the bar. "Thanks to ye strange creatures, I can sail again! this here calls fer a celebration!"
A woman sang and she's not a demon.
I imagined Sir'es the Sound Demon being voiced by Kathleen Barr who voices the Siren from Martin Mystery. Sir'es actually has romantic feelings for Po Kong the Mountain Demon. In the next chapter, Sonic takes on the Sun Demon. The Sword of Vermilion is born.
