Chapter 40: Sun:

Sonic's POV:

Carl and I were looking at the Master Emerald.

"What is it doing," asks Carl.

"It's telling us about the next demon," I said.

The Master Emerald showed us an image of a guy with fiery red hair. He has three red eyes, with the third one being on his forehead. He also has wings like a falcon. Other than that, he's more humanoid in appearance then the others. He also wears armor.

. . .

We told Uncle. "Ballmalloth the Sun Demon," says Uncle, "did Big Rock tell you where to find him?"

"Yeah," I said, "the... Sun."

"This could be a problem," says Uncle.

Ballmalloth's POV:

Nothing like waking up to a bright sunny day. Just look at that Earth. Now, imagine how it would look if I were to turn off the lights. By depowering the Sun, I will make the Earth suffer! I will end all life on that planet!

Sonic's POV:

Tails is trying to heat proof the Blue Typhoon. "I also made these suits that should protect us from the Sun's heat," says Tails.

"Should," asks Knuckles.

"It's not like I've been able to test it," says Tails.

"Okay, let's head for the Sun," I said.

"Wait, how are you going to banish the Demon," asks Carl.

"I don't know," I said.

. . .

Tails, Knuckles, Amy, and I headed for the Sun. Uncle didn't want to come because he doesn't do space travel. Something about not being Flash Gordon.

"Good call on the sunglasses, Amy," I said.

"I figured that in order to land on the Sun, we'd have to look at it first," says Amy.

"Does it look a little dimmer to anyone else," asks Knuckles.

He's right. The Sun isn't as bright as it should be.

. . .

We landed and now we're looking for the Sun Demon.

"Where on Earth are we going to find the Sun Demon on the Sun," I asked.

"Right behind you," says Ballmalloth.

We all turn around.

"Wow, this demon is handsome," says Amy.

"He's also a spawn of Heck," says Knuckles.

"Good point," says Amy.

"We beat down the Darkness and Sound Demon," I said.

"Fascinating," says Ballmalloth, "but I am far stronger than those two and I bet you didn't even bring anything to send me back to the Netherworld!"

"UUUUUUUUUhhhhhhhhh... we got sunblock," I said.

Now, being the Sun Demon, that means he has solar powers, so he can fire solar energy blasts from his hands right at us. We had to dodge.

"I was wondering what beat those two," says Ballmalloth, "and now I know. Talking animals. There is undoubtedly a fascinating story in how talking animals could be capable of doing the things you can do. Perhaps I will let one of you live long enough to tell it."

"We're going to have to retreat," I said, "let's go!" We then moved.

"This is going to be fun," says Ballmalloth.

. . .

"Come on, Sword of Light," I said, "how do we beat the Sun Demon? Is there a Sword of Darkness? Can that help?"

"If we do beat the Demon, would that help the Sun," asks Amy.

"Yeah, so we better make sure to leave, because, again, I don't know if the suits would protect us," says Tails.

"Are you sure the sword isn't telling you anything," asks Knuckles.

"Would I be banging the sword on the ground if it was," I asked.

"Maybe the pearl can tell us," suggests Amy. She holds up the Pearl of Harmony. Then the sword and pearl were both floating in the air and then they connect and become a whole new sword. Then we saw a vision.

King Erik VI's POV - Flashback:

My Father, King Erik V and King Tsarkon were close friends who sought the 8 rings of good and evil to bring peace and balance to the realm. However, the rings of evil changed King Tsarkon and he led his army from Cartahena to invade Excalabria. The defenders were overwhelmed, and the castle of King Erik V collapsed. Erik V summoned his bravest, strongest and most faithful warrior, Blade, to entrust him his infant son with an ancient family heirloom, the Ring of Wisdom. King Erik ordered Blade to save himself and the child before perishing while the castle burned. The remaining rings of good were scattered throughout the realm by King Tsarkon to deter anyone from uniting the rings. King Tsarkon turned the infant prince's mother to living stone and vowed all of Cartahena's power to finding the boy. Blade traveled to a small village named Wyclif, where he settled down and raised the child as his own son. Eighteen years later, I set out on a quest to learn my true destiny. Blade died, but I faced Tsarkon and took the rings. The rings gave power to my sword, and it became the Sword of Vermillion. When three demons, with powers based on Darkness, Sound, and the Sun tried to take it, I used the sword to banish them to the Netherworld, but the result was the sword splitting into the Sword of Light and the Pearl of Harmony. Now, you must use the Sword of Vermillion and defeat the Sun Demon!

Sonic's POV - Present:

"Let's do it to it," I said.

. . .

The Sun Demon was looking for us. "Where are you," he asks.

"Right here," I said.

"Well, it's about time... wait, is that... THE SWORD OF VERMILLION?"

I aimed it right at him. The Sun Demon tries to get away, but the Sword zaps him and sends him back to the Netherworld.

. . .

We made it back to Earth. "It turns out, these suits can only protect us from the Sun for about five minutes," says Tails, "so we had to leave fast."

I was just thinking, how did those demons come back?

Dr. Eggman's POV:

Those demons I had released were a good distraction. No one realized Snively and I escaped. Now, to get to work on my new project.

I imagined Ballmalloth the Sun Demon being voiced by Ralph Fiennes who voices Rameses from The Prince of Egypt. In the next chapter, Sonic gets captured by Nack the Weasel.
