Chapter 41: Nack the Weasel:

Sonic's POV:

"It's barbaric," says Knuckles, "there should be a law against it."

"So, they make clothes for animals," I said, "it's not that big a deal."

"Who could possibly approve of this," asks Knuckles.

Then Amy came out. "Check out what I'm wearing," says Amy.

"RRRiiiggghhhttt." Amy wears clothes. On our planet, clothes are more of a... you can if you want thing.

We were then walking, but something tried to zap us.

"What was that," asks Amy.

"I'm guessing that," I said. We looked and there was a stranger on the roof of a building. I then ran towards him. "Alright, what's you-" He was gone. I looked and saw he was now on the roof of another building. I was confused. I then ran to that roof, but he was gone again. When I ran back to the first building, I saw that he can use his tail like a spring. He was bouncing like Tigger! I tried to catch him, but he kept getting away. I was getting dizzy. This guy then left. I returned to the others. "That guy had a spring on his butt!"

"What did you say," asks Knuckles.

Knuckles' POV - Flashback:

There I was, guarding the Master Emerald. Everything seemed normal, but then I heard something in the bushes. I decided to take a look. I then grabbed someone from the bushes. "Who are you," I asked.

"Please, let me go," she said.

"Answer the question," I said.

"My name is Tangle the Lemur and I'm on the run!"

"Interesting," I said, "and how did you get on Angel Island?"

"My ship crashed," says Tangle, "a bounty hunter is after me! Because I have information a mad man plans to use!"

"I believe you," I said.

"Really?"

"Sure, like how I believe Mobius is flat," I said, "get out of here! I don't care about your problems! I'm protecting something important..." We both get knocked out.

Knuckles' POV - Present:

"Knuckles," asks Sonic. I then snapped out of it. "We're back at Section Twelve."

I look around. "So we are."

"Are you alright," asks Julie-Su.

"I'm fine," I said.

"Great, we need to figure out who that guy is," says Sonic.

"You said he was Mobian size, correct," asks Carl.

"Yeah and he looked like an animal," says Sonic, "so he might be from Mobius!"

"But how can he have a bouncy tail," asks Tails.

"Says the guy with the buttcopter," says Mina.

"Good point," says Tails.

I have a feeling I might know who it is. And if it's who I think it is, we might have a new problem.

Mysterious Bounty Hunter's POV:

I called my client.

"Don't worry, that hedgehog will be as good as dead," I said, "I just need the perfect trap!"

Knuckles' POV:

We were searching. "Hay certainly, don't cut a path no footprints," says Bunnie.

"Dahrleeng, eef you could use your tail to bounce, would you need footpreents," asks Antoine.

"Daisy point, sweety pie," says Bunnie.

I then looked and I thought I saw something bounce.

Knuckles' POV - Flashback:

Tangle and I are both tied up. "What's going on," I asked.

"It's that bounty hunter I mentioned," says Tangle.

So she was telling the truth, but she got me involved in her problems!

"Well, look what we have here. Allow me to introduce myself. Friends call me Fang, but you can call me Nack the Weasel!"

"What do you want with us," I asked.

"Nothing from you," says Nack, "you were just in the wrong place at the wrong time."

"You guys literally brought this to my turf," I said.

"Miss Lemur has some information about a certain group that my employer wants," says Nack, "and I will get it, no matter what!"

Knuckles' POV - Present:

There was a laser blast that snapped me out of it. We all look and it was him! Nack the Weasel!

"Is that my old friend, Knuckles," asks Nack, "interesting."

"You know this guy," asks Tails.

"Take him down," I said.

We then fought him, but he kept bouncing around and zapping at us.

"This guy is really starting to get on my nerves," says Amy.

Espio managed to fight him in hand to hand combat, but Nack beat him down. He then created a smokescreen, but when the smoke cleared, Sonic was gone.

"Where's Sonic," asks Sally.

"No," I said outloud, "it's happening again!"

Knuckles' POV - Flashback:

Nack was calling his employer.

"I don't know how we're going to bust out of here," says Tangle.

I then break out. "I'm strong," I said, "now, I'll take care of our host."

I then tried to punch Nack, but he bounced out of the way. "Surprise," says Nack.

"What the-"

"I guess I forgot to mention he has a weird tail," says Tangle.

"You think," I asked. I then tried to fight Nack.

Knuckles' POV - Present:

"Explain," says Sally.

There was no getting out of this. "His name is Nack the Weasel. He's a bounty hunter. Someone must've hired him to capture Sonic. We have to find his ship."

Sonic's POV:

I woke up and saw I was in some kind of trophy room.

"You're awake," says Nack, "good, an old friend of yours wants to say hi."

On the monitor was Janken the Great, that freak from that Rock-Paper-Scissors planet.

"Do you have him," asks Janken.

"Right here," says Nack.

"Good, if you bring him to me, you will be well paid," says Janken.

"You can count on me," says Nack. The transmission ends.

"You won't get away with this," I said.

"Cliche alert," says Nack.

Knuckles' POV:

We found Nack's ship. It looks good after I crashed it.

Knuckles' POV - Flashback:

I was still trying to fight Nack.

"Knuckles, we have to get out of here," says Tangle.

"Not until I take this guy down," I said. I then broke the controls.

"You shoudn't have done that," says Nack.

Then the ship crashes.

. . .

We were back on my island, in front of the Master Emerald. Tangle got up and was leaning on the emerald. "I wish there was a way to keep him from getting the information!" Then, somehow, the Emerald absorbed her. I was shocked.

Knuckles' POV - Present:

"We have to take Nack down," I said, "let's do it to it!"

. . .

We got on the ship and were walking through the halls.

"Look who's here," says Nack, "you still owe me a bounty!"

"There's only one thing I owe you," I said, "find Sonic, this is personal!"

The others left and I fought Nack.

Sonic's POV:

The others came. "What took ya so long," I asked.

"Sonic, are you alright," asks Sally.

"Yeah, that creep's working for Janken," I said, "who is he?"

"An old aquaitance of Knuckles'," says Julie-Su.

"I got follow-up questions," I said.

Knuckles' POV:

Nack and I continued to fight. "You can never beat me," says Nack.

I then realized, what if he couldn't bounce. I then banged my fists on the floor, causing the ship to shake, which messed with Nack's balance, allowing me to knock him down. "That was for Tangle the Lemur," I said.

. . .

Nack was being taken in by Section Twelve.

"Anything you want to talk about," asks Sonic.

"Something from my past," I said, "but maybe I should talk about it."

Knuckles' POV - Flashback:

I looked at the Master Emerald. "Who was he working for," I asked.

"I can answer that. I am Dr. Robotnik and Nack was hired by Sonic the Hedgehog. He's planning on stealing the Master Emerald!"

If that's what this is all about, then what about the information Tangle had? She didn't even know about the Master Emerald. Oh well, I can't worry about that now. I have to take this Sonic down.

Knuckles' POV - Present:

Afterwards, I learned that Nack was hired by Robotnik and Tangle had information about the Freedom Fighters' base.

"So, that's what happened to Tangle," says Sonic, "Sally and I have been wondering that."

"Yeah," I said. Nack's been taken down and who knows, maybe some day, Tangle will be released from the Emerald. Maybe.

In the next chapter, Sonic and the others meet Bean the Dynamite.
