Chapter 46: The Fearsome Foursome:
Stranger's POV:
"Lightning Lynx, Sergeant Simian, Flying Frog, and Predator Hawk. I've called you all here for a reason. I want you to destroy Sonic the Hedgehog and his group! Do so and you will be rewarded. What do you say?"
"I don't see anyone leaving," says Lightning Lynx.
"Then go, my Fearsome Foursome!"
Tails' POV:
I was showing Sonic, Knuckles, and Amy my latest invention.
"I call it the Sonic Runner," I said, "it's a super-fast land vehicle!"
"I like the name," says Sonic, "but... do we really need it?"
"Well, I just thought that since not everyone can move as fast as you... maybe we could use this."
"Except some of us can move almost as fast as him," says Knuckles.
"Yeah, it seems kind of unnecessary," says Amy.
"I guess you guys are right," I said.
Then Agent Bass came out. "Someone's attacking City Hall!"
. . .
The four of us ran to take a look and we saw a lynx, an ape, a frog, and a hawk.
"Who are you guys," I asked.
"We're the Fearsome Foursome! I'm Lightning Lynx, this is Sergeant Simian, Flying Frog, and Predator Hawk!"
"And why are you guys attacking City Hall," I asked, "you wanna take over the town?"
"No, it was to lure you all out," says Lightning Lynx, "attack!"
"Sir, Yes, Sir," says Sergeant Simian.
They then attacked us. Sonic took on Lightning Lynx, Knuckles took on Sergeant Simian, Amy took on Flying Frog, and I took on Predator Hawk.
"What do you guys have against us," Sonic asked.
"It's just a job," says Lightning Lynx.
"Didn't you used to be in the Mobian Military," asks Knuckles.
"Affirmative," says Sergeant Simian, "but now I'm a mercenary!"
"Will you hold still," asks Amy.
"You can't catch me," says Flying Frog.
"Who hired you," I asked.
"We don't know," says Predator Hawk, "and even if we did, it would be none of your business!"
These guys were tough, but then Sonic saw Carl walking by. "Carl, get away from here!"
Carl then sees us, and Lightning takes the opportunity and grabs him. "Let's get out of here!" They create a smokescreen that practically blinds us. "They got Carl," Sonic said.
Lightning Lynx's POV:
We were hiding in a warehouse.
"Why'd we take the kid," asks Predator.
"You saw how concerned for him Sonic is," I said, "the kid is the bait. Flying, send a message!"
"You got it, Boss Man," says Flying.
"What makes you the boss," says Predator.
"I do," I said.
"Sir, what do we do if the target does not come, Sir," asks Sarge.
"Then we won't need him," I said.
Sonic's POV:
We found Flying Frog's message.
"Y'know, he's really more of a glider," says Amy.
"This smells like a trap," says Knuckles.
"We still gotta save Carl," I said.
"I have to go," says Tails, "I think I have an idea."
. . .
We arrived at the warehouse.
"Keep an eye out," I said.
Then we got trapped in an energy net.
"Good thing the Sarge has lots of tricks," says Lightning.
"Sir, we have captured the enemy," says Sergeant Simian.
"Now, we can get our payment," says Flying Frog.
"Not today!" Tails was driving the Sonic Runner.
"Grab the fox," says Lightning.
They came at Tails, but using the Sonic Runner, he was able to overpower them. He was throwing them around.
"That thing is good," says Knuckles.
"Way to go, Leader," says Predator.
"Shut up," says Lightning.
Tails then throws them away.
. . .
"We were wrong," I said.
"This thing is amazing," says Amy.
"And very useful," says Knuckles.
"Then we can keep it," asks Tails.
"You bet," I said, "now, let's untie Carl."
Stranger's POV:
They may have won, but now I know who the first one I should eliminate is... get rid of the fox, get rid of the genius and they will all fear Mammoth Mogul!
In the next chapter, Tails meets Mammoth Mogul.
