Chapter 48: The Return of Shadow:
Sonic's POV:
I was taking on Bearenger. "I am Bearenger! I am strong!"
"You're also not very bright," I said.
Bearenger and I then fought, but then something came out of nowhere and takes us both down. What was that?
. . .
I was talking to the others.
"So, what do you think it could be," asks Amy.
"I'm not sure," I said.
"Luckily, thanks to the subcutaneous camera I put on Sonic-" Tails began.
"Wait, does that mean we all have one," asks Sally.
"No? NNNNNNNNNooooooooo… Of course you do...n't. Anyway, we have an image of who it was!" We saw it on the screen. "I just need to do it in slow motion."
Tails slows down the video and it's... Shadow!
"Is that who I think it is," asks Amy.
"Shadow's back," says Knuckles.
"But last time we saw him, he decided to go against his desire to destroy the world," says Sally.
"Doesn't mean he's on the right side," says Knuckles.
"We better find out what he's up to," I said.
Dr. Eggman's POV:
By hacking into the computer in the subcutaneous camera Tails put in Sonic, I was able to see that Sonic and that idiot, Bearenger were both attacked by Shadow. So, Shadow's alive... but why did he just randomly attack them? Wait, that look in his eyes... interesting.
Sonic's POV:
We were all looking for Shadow. We split into teams. There was me and Sally, Tails and Mina, Knuckles and Julie-Su, Antoine and Bunny, Amy and Big, Cream and Cheese, and Team Chaotix.
"Shadow isn't the random type," says Sally.
"Yeah, but he is a jerk," I said.
"That part I can agree on," says Sally. "Should we tell Scar that Shadow's back."
"When we grabbed Shadow." says Sonic.
Tails' POV:
"So, did you put a camera on me," asks Mina.
"Is everyone gonna focus on that," I asked, "let's just look for Shadow!"
Knuckles' POV:
"If we find Shadow, what should we do," asks Julie-Su.
"First thing I'm going to do is take him down," I said, "he can't be trusted."
Antoine's POV:
Shahdow could be ahnywhere, ahnd I wahs trying to be on my guard, but zen I sahw sahmetheeng zat mahde me scream. Eet wahs my shahdow. I wahs embahrrassed. Bunny zen keesses me on ze cheek to tell me eet wahs ahlright.
Amy's POV:
Big and I were looking.
"I hope we don't run into Shadow," says Big.
"He's not that bad," I said, "you gotta admit, something about his dark mysterious attitude and his never care act is somewhat attractive..."
"What," asks Big.
"UUUUUUUUUmmmmmmmmm... let's keep looking," I said.
Cream's POV:
Cheese and I were looking in the candy store. You never know, Shadow might be there.
Vector's POV:
My team and I were looking around.
"Y'know, Espio," says Mighty, "Shadow's a lot like you."
"Only he is a lost soul that must learn the difference between right and wrong," says Espio.
"I still say we should bring him in," says Vector.
"And take away his skates," says Charmy.
Sonic's POV:
Sally and I were still looking.
"Over here," says Sally. I ran over and we saw him.
"We need to talk," I said.
Shadow then rams through us. That was rude. I then chased after him.
. . .
Shadow and I both ran around Green Hills, then we both stopped. "So, what's your deal," I asked.
"Who are you," asks Shadow.
"What?"
Shadow then attacks me, and we fought, but then Shadow left.
. . .
I told the others about what happened.
"So, Shadow didn't remember you," asks Amy.
"Yeah," I said, "it was weird."
"Wait, what if Shadow doesn't remember anything," says Tails, "what if Shadow has amnesia and that's why he attacked Sonic and Bearenger! He doesn't know who he can trust, so he's attacking anyone!"
"Zen we could ahll be doomed!"
"Well, so far, he's just attackin' sonic," says Bunny.
"Maybe we're just misunderstanding him," says Amy.
"I don't think so," says Knuckles, "look!"
Shadow was attacking civilians.
"'n they-yur it is."
"Let's go," I said.
. . .
We were all looking for Shadow again.
"Maybe we could help him," says Amy.
"Shadow is dangerous," says Knuckles, "why are you suddenly concerned about him?"
"It's not because I'm attracted to the dark and mysterious type if that's what your implying," says Amy.
"Forget I asked," says Knuckles.
"I think I see him," says Tails.
We then cornered Shadow. "We need to talk," I said.
"I don't know who you are, but I'm getting out of here," says Shadow.
Then something attacked us. I looked and saw it was Mortus, the villain of Comix Zone!
"But Sketch destroyed you," I said.
"Fool, don't you know that comic book characters never die," says Mortus.
Mortus then knocks out Shadow and disappears with him.
"Great, now we got that guy," says Knuckles.
"We have to save Shadow," says Amy.
"I'm starting to worry about you," says Knuckles.
"We will save him," I said, "and stop Mortus!"

If I'm right, Mortus took Shadow to the world of Comix Zone, so using the Chaos Emeralds, we were able to enter.
"Wow, it sure is flat," says Big, "hey look, I have a word bubble. I can read what I'm saying."
"Now, let's look for Mortus," I said.
. . .
We just went through pages until we found Mortus' lair. He had Shadow strapped to a table.
"Now to take your power and become the Ultimate Lifeform," says Mortus.
"Why are there balloons coming out of our mouths," asks Shadow.
"Because Mortus is just comic relief," I said.
"That doesn't make sense," says Mortus.
Remember, Mortus is the toughest guy in Comix Zone. He's a mutant and the comic's greatest villain. So, he was kicking us around. Last time, he was beaten because Sketch Turner turned into a superhero and destroyed him. We probably should've brought him here. Amy then frees Shadow.
"Why are you helping me," asks Shadow.
"I think there might be a chance for you," says Amy.
Mortus was about to attack Amy, but she manages to free Shadow, who then attacks Mortus. The two fight, but then I was about to use a Chaos Emerald to go Super, but Shadow takes it from me, and he goes super and uses that power to destroy Mortus. Shadow then uses the emerald to leave.
"Should we be concerned that he still has it," asks Knuckles.
"I wanna know how Mortus even knew about Shadow," I said.
Shadow's POV:
I was alone. I looked at the stone I took, and I started to remember. I am Shadow the Hedgehog. Maria. Amy. Sca... Then something knocked me out.
Dr. Eggman's POV:
Mortus may have failed, but my creation managed to take Shadow and the emerald. Soon, the Ultimate Weapon will destroy all my enemies!
In the next chapter, Sonic meets Mario and Luigi.
