Alrighty everyone! Now we're onto Charlie and Alastor starting their relationship along with Lucifer getting protective :3 Let's see how she's doing with the battle of the dads lol

I don't think I'm gonna do the whole scene of the cannibal recruitment as I'm doing these things in my own order anyway and this is getting kinda long as it is lol Hope you all enjoy it nonetheless though!

"You know, I could have escorted you on my own to Cannibal Town. Rosie and I do go back centuries." I rolled my eyes at Dad's distaste for the Alastor who was a few feet behind us.

"He's here as support, Dad. Even then, he had evidence that he knew her back in their living days too. Showcasing that many different walks of life are trying to prove this fight is a worthy one is important! Even then, not all sinners think of either one of us as, huh," I thought for a second before remembering back when Dad had a mental breakdown when mom had left us.

Most of Hell went on a rampage without his guidance and supervision which led to a lot of sinners losing respect for the Morningstar name. He didn't need a reminder of the lengths he went through to get where he was now though.

"They don't view us very highly, I know." My Dad had a defeated tone in his voice for a second before going back to his normal self. "Well, as long as he doesn't cause any problems, I guess it'll work out. But if he messes up, we're sending Mr. Busboy back to the hotel. We do not need any more trouble than we're in right now."

"Now now, Mr. Morningstar," Alastor had a calm yet teasing tone to his static voice as a large toothy grin was displaying itself on his face. "If you don't enjoy my charm, I told you I could help our Charlie here on my own." I felt the Overlord place a hand on my shoulder as he slipped between my father and me with the same cheeky grin. "You know, he tried to convince me that my presence was unwarranted despite already going over these details, darling. Can you believe that?" I shot my dad a quick glare before patting Alastors hand on my shoulder.

"He's just protective of me. Nothing to take personally."

"I don't blame him, dear." Alastor took his hand back as we finally entered the main square of Cannibal Town. "I was the one who realized we had a double agent among us with Sir Pentious with the Vox technology he had about the area. I applaud you for your resistance. Most others would have decapitated him on the spot! Though I do wish at times that we enjoyed messing with him some. He did ruin my coat after all." Alastor chuckled to himself as my father appeared on my other side.

"But you got your fun with the poor bastard when you had him rattled about in that ship of his!"

"Oh, that was punishment for doing harm to the hotel! I was just doing my job as co-executive to the hotel and keeping up my end of the deal for the protection of our residence." I rolled my eyes at their bickering for a moment before shrugging out from between them.

"That is enough, you two. If you can't get along for five minutes, then you can both go home. We all know Rosie knows me personally and that she would hear me out even without you two here. This," I circled my finger around between the three of us as I came to a stop. "Was just to make Vaggie feel better about me going into town without her here. People are on edge about the news of the meeting with Heaven and they're on the edge of their seats for what is going to be broadcast next. But if you two keep fighting each other like children, I'll speak with her myself. Are we clear?" My father's face fell a little as Alastor continued to smile in reply.

"Oh, you have quite the backbone when you desire it. Fiesty little spirit in you. The people of this town will adore you, darling." I adjusted my coat slightly before taking a deep breath and releasing it slowly.

"Thank you, but flattery will not make me gloss over you're actions." The Overlord just gave a shrug as we all continued back toward the her emporium Rosie told us to meet up at.

"Is no harm in trying,"

I swear I am surrounded by children.

And I'm the child.

I pushed open the door to the emporium with a smile despite my thoughts which caused a little bell to ring above our heads.

"Welcome! Who do-?" Rosie looked over toward us with wide hallow eyes for a second before her iconic wide smile appeared on her face. "It's you! Finally, you all arrived!" Rosie hurried over and gave me a quick hug which I reciprocated. "You've gotten so big. Look at you!" She pulled back for a second before looking over toward my father. "You didn't tell me she was becoming such a beautiful little lady! You need to tell a woman these things." She wiggled a finger at my father before pulling me back into a hug which I giggled into in reply.

"You act like you haven't seen me in a while, Rosie."

"It feels like it!" She pulled back from me and moved over toward Alastor. "And you! My ace in a hole, come here!" Alastor gave the fellow Overlord a hug which shocked me for a second as he did not take physical contact very well outside of me and Nifty.

"Rosie how I missed you as well." They both squeezed before letting each other go. "Now how is the most beautiful and dangerous Overlord this side of the pentagram?"

"You and your flattery!" Rosie giggled to herself before putting a hand on his shoulder. "You know the spiel. Making deals, keeping my people fed, the works." She then poked him in the chest with the same hand as a smirk came onto her face. "Which reminds me, there have been souls looking for some safety since some rumors are dancing around in the wind. Fresh pickings for some good deals!" Alastor gave her a smile and a small laugh before putting a hand on my shoulder.

"I'm not here for deals, sadly. I'm here with our princess to gain some more assistance in the hotel efforts! As you know from our letter, Heaven has taken to another extermination within the next few months and we're looking for people to protect the hotel and our program in case they deem us a threat."

"Yes, yes, yes! How could I forget?" Rosie turned her attention toward me and my father with her signature soft smile. "How about we talk one on one, little one? I'll need to get a good grasp on the situation and what you desire before letting you speak with my people here. Have to protect my own, as you may understand." I nodded my head in reply to Rosie's demand.

"Absolutely. I have no problem with that. I bet you'll want to talk about other things as well."

"You know me so well." Rosie giggled as I let her lead me toward where I knew her personal room in the back of the emporium building was. "Wait here, boys! Keep yourself out of trouble!" I heard my dad and Alastor try to put up a fight with being left alone with one another, but the two of us ignored them respectively. Once the door shut behind us, Rosie let out a little sigh before heading over toward her vanity mirror. "Good mother of God, you can cut the tension with those two with a knife!"

"Tell me about it." I giggled as I moved toward the couch not too far behind her.

"I heard you and the girlfriend are doing well! Is there anything new in that department? A ring perhaps?" Rosie wiggled her eyebrows at me through the mirror as she pressed some kind of powder to her cheeks. "Your Aunt Rosie isn't gonna be dead forever, you know!"

"Vaggie and I have other things on our minds if you haven't noticed."

"Oh, honey, this is when the best marriages occur! Ones of desperation and longing to be together at least before the end! The books I read while with the living were filled with those delightful little tales." Rosie sighed happily as she turned in her chair to look at me directly. "Franklin used to indulge my addiction to those."

"How are you doing after that, by the way?"

"Eh, as good as any girl could be. I guess since it's technically the second time I lost him, it's not as hard. There's always that chance of seeing him once more." I smiled at Rosie's thoughts before she rose from her chair to then sit beside me. "It aches nonetheless. You know how it goes." She shrugged while giving me a soft smile before placing her hand on my shoulder.

"I feel that every time I'm without Vaggie for too long," I said silently to myself before letting out a soft sigh. "She's out working to get weapon supplies from Carmilla before things get even more shitty for us. Luckily Carmilla has always seen Vaggie as a daughter so I doubt it's much of a hassle for her."

"Well, the both of you definitely have that Morningstar Charm." Rosie giggled to herself as my blush from before reappeared. "Hey, she'll be a Morningstar someday. Might as well lump her in now." Rosie giggled to herself before squeezing my shoulder. "But enough of the gossip, you needed something from Auntie Rosie, right?"

"Yes." I shifted in my seat to make myself more presentable and a little bit more like someone in charge as we switched to the main topic of our meeting. "As Vaggie is gathering weapons, we need more people to wield them in case we need to protect the hotel. We're working on the idea that if Heaven declares our mission as something dangerous to their ideas of balance we'll need to fight back with all we go." I grew serious despite placing a gentle hand on Rosie's that was still on my shoulder. "I was wondering if you would be willing to let me speak with your people on the matter? They're probably the most willing out of the communities."

"Of course!" Rosie gave a wide smile before taking her hand back and rising to her feet. "You know how they work though. They have their own minds. So you'll have to use that Morningstar Charm and do your magic with them to get them on your side." I grimaced as I remembered an encounter with Cannibal Town in the past.

"Is Susan still around?" Rosie sighed as the happy look on her face fell flat. She started making her way toward the main area of the building which caused me to rise and followed her soon after.

"That old bitch never dies and I have no clue how she does it."

"Susan?" Alastor looked over toward us with a wide smile as Rosie just laughed in response.

"You didn't even need to know what we were talking about!" They shared a laugh as Dad walked up toward us.

"Wait, what about Susan?"

"We all don't like Susan?" I couldn't help but chuckle along as my dad rolled his eyes at the thought of the woman.

"The only hellspawn I have ever met that is more of a bitch than most sinners." Alastor let out a little laugh before putting his elbow on my dad's shoulder and leaning on him.

"Ha ha! Something we can agree on, friend!"

"Well, she's your only barrier between you and having the cannibals on your side, darling." Rosie placed a hand on my shoulder once more as Dad and Alastor nodded along. "You think you can handle it?"

"Absolutely! I bet I can handle her. Just gotta ignore her grumbles and keep my eye on the ball." Rosie gave me a proud look before looking over toward my father.

"Again, she's growing into a fine young woman, Lucy." Dad's eyes softened as he looked over toward me with a warm and caring gaze in his red eyes.

"I know. We're all proud of her." I couldn't help but smile at how sweet the conversation turned before we all silently agreed to go out to the main meeting area in the center of the little town.

With all of us together, there will be no stopping us.

I had a feeling of determination fill my chest as we marched over toward the plaza while Rosie now carried her megaphone to call for her people.

And I'm sure I can get the cannibals to think the same.
