Chapter 23-More Monster Trouble!

Once they had left the display room, the turtle brothers came across a corridor and started walking down it until something zoomed past a doorway in front of them.

"What was that?" Donnie questioned anxiously.

"Move slowly and stay quiet…" Leo commanded in a whisper before he and his brothers cautiously walked further down the corridor.

When they had reached and entered the door, which led towards a new room, the trio parasite that looked like a cross between a spider and a scorpion. They then watched as it jumped on an oblivious worshipper's back and embedded its tail into him, completely taking full control his body in the process.

"What da shell is dat!?" Raph questioned in horror.

"Oh, perfect…Not only are there internal controlling parasites for us to worry about, but we've got external ones to take out too!" Donnie exclaimed.

"Let's exterminate it and put the poor guy out of his misery!" Leo said firmly.

With their weapons readied, the turtle brothers went straight to work with shooting the parasite off of the worshipper's back before watching as the vile creature stopped moving and exploded, and the worshipper had also collapsed and died during the process.

"Ok…That was terrifying…" Donnie said after a moment of silence.

"Yer tellin' me…! Dat was one of da grossest things I've seen so far…!" Raph agreed with a shiver in his body.

"Well, we've destroyed it now…let's keep moving, but keep an eye out for more of those things while we go…" Leo told his brothers.

Leaving what was left of the parasite and worshipper behind, the turtle brothers walked down another corridor until they had reached a door. They opened it to reveal an outer area of the castle, with a view of watch towers in between each wall surrounding the castle.

Then…

"Oh dear, turtle men. It seems you have lost your brother…"

Ramón's voice was suddenly heard nearby, and the turtle brothers looked up and saw four sound trumpets on top of a tall pole.

"I'm sure Mikey said that meeting you once is enough…" Leo reminded sternly.

"How convenient, and I was growing tired of the moderate touch…Let us play this game of ours in true Salazar fashion!" Ramón replied snidely.

"Oh, shut yer mouth and leave us alone, creep!" Raph snapped before he took out his handgun and fired at one of the sound trumpets, making it bang loudly and ring for a whole minute.

"Aargh!" Leo and Donnie cried out in pain as they covered their ears with their hands until the ringing stopped, with Raph doing the same with one hand since he had his gun in the other.

"Raph! Was that really necessary!?" Leo scolded.

"What!? He was gettin' on my nerves…!" Raph told him in annoyance.

"Forget about him, you two, we need to keep looking for Mikey!" Donnie jumped in firmly to prevent a full-blown argument from happening.

After calming themselves down, Leo and Raph joined Donnie and resumed in their search for Mikey. However, after releasing the drawbridge by shooting the chain that was holding it up, a handful of infected worshippers suddenly burst through and appeared from the doorway on the opposite side.

"Oh, ya were expectin' us…!" Raph exclaimed sarcastically as he drew his handgun out.

Leo and Donnie followed their brother's lead and took out their own weapons before they charged in for the attack. Leo used his katana swords to slice down the wooden shields from two of the hostiles before stepping aside to allow Donnie to shoot them down with his handgun. Leo then took out two more hostiles, who were wielding flaming crossbows, by dodging the arrows and kicking them down before stabbing them in the chest. Raph dodged the incoming attacks from the hostiles holding spike balls on chains before he used his handgun to shoot them down.

Once the worshippers were all taken down, the turtle brothers moved on to the next room in the tower ahead of them.

Sometime later…

After walking through a maze of stairs and switchable doors, which nearly took forever for the three turtle brothers to solve, the trio had reached the top of one of the castle towers.

Suddenly, at the far front of the castle wall, they saw an enormous troll-like monster with a face mask rise from behind the wall with a roar before throwing a large cluster of rock towards them!

"Whoa!" The trio cried as they dodged the attack by jumping behind a raised wooden defence wall.

"Another troll!?" Raph shouted.

"Yeah, and unlike the last one we fought, this one's massive!" Donnie observed in disbelief.

"What do we do, Leo!?" Donnie then questioned, looking at Leo.

"We do the same thing like we did with the other troll we fought; we take it down and get to Mikey!" Leo answered in determination.

Once they had found a way to run on top of the castle wall nearby, the turtle brothers ran as fast as they could whilst taking cover from the giant troll's rock throws. That wasn't their only problem, though; they also had to evade and take out any infected worshippers that were blocking their way during the process.

Soon, the trio had managed to take shelter in the second tower, and it was in there that Donnie had spotted something that could take out the giant troll for good.

"Guys, look! A cannon!" He alerted his brothers as he pointed at the cannon.

"Yes! Let's hope it still works…! Raph, cut it loose!" Leo prayed before he watched as Raph fired his gun at the chain that was keeping it secured and the cannon instantly rose up to the top of the tower.

The turtle brothers immediately ran up the stairs to reach the top of the tower where both the giant troll and cannon were waiting for them.

"Alright! Get ready, guys, and watch out for its attacks!" Leo told his brothers.

Raph and Donnie nodded before they and Leo took their positions by the cannon; Raph loaded a cannonball into it before Leo and Donnie turned and aimed it at the giant troll. However, before they could fire the cannon, the large creature threw another cluster of rocks towards them.

"Incoming!" Donnie cried out.

The turtle brothers hurried towards a wooden defence wall just as the rocks crashed and landed nearby. When they noticed that the giant troll was preparing for another attack, the trio ran back to the cannon and aimed it at the large creature before firing it. The cannonball struck the giant troll directly in his left eye and shattered part of his mask, making him roar in pain before he collapsed behind the wall and out of sight.

"Yeah!" "Adios, giant freak!" The turtle brothers cheered before they used the cannon to blast open the castle door on their right.

"Ok, the door is open! Let's keep moving forward!" Leo commanded before he and his brothers jumped from the edge of the tower and ran across a wooden bridge leading towards the now wide open door.

Then, suddenly…

Crash! "Rrooooaaaarrr!"

The giant troll smashed through the wooden bridge, causing Leo to land on top of him and struggle to get to the other side where his brothers were.

"Leo!" Raph and Donnie cried out as they rushed to grab Leo in time just before the troll could grab him and take him down with it as it fell one last time.

The three turtle brothers looked on whilst panting and trying to calm their rapid-beating hearts down.

"Shell…dat thing just…didn't wanna give up…" Raph panted.

"Yeah…And it nearly…took Leo with it…" Donnie agreed breathlessly before he turned to Leo.

"Are you alright, Leo?" He asked.

"I'm fine, thanks to you two…Now, let's continue on…" Leo answered after getting breath and composure back before he and his brothers walked away from the now broken bridge and headed inside the castle.
