Lloyd limped into the kitchen, his side, leg, and arm all hurting. He'd been cut badly three times. Wu was already there drinking tea, which was not surprising in the slightest.

Misako guided him to a chair and told him to sit. Lloyd obeyed, wincing as he sat when his side burned.

"Would you like something to do?" Misako asked him.

Lloyd shrugged. "Like what? I thought we took everything out of here?"

"Most things," Garmadon told him. "I think we left some games here."

Lloyd thought for a moment, then nodded.

Misako quickly left to retrieve them.

In the few moments that followed, Lloyd noticed the awkward silence between his father and uncle. He looked back and forth between them, trying to figure out what was going on. Garmadon was giving Wu a not-so-subtle glare, and Wu was avoiding his gaze.

"What's up with you two?" Lloyd finally asked, not being able to stand it anymore.

Garmadon quickly broke off his glare, giving Lloyd the feeling that they didn't want him to know something.

At their silence, Lloyd frowned.

Just then, Misako returned. "I brought chess, checkers, and a pack of cards."

Lloyd wasn't sure if he'd ever played chess or cards before, but he had played checkers with rocks plenty of times.

But that wasn't important right now. He wanted to know what was going on.

"Mom, what's up with Dad and Wu?"

Misako glanced between them, and Lloyd noticed that she, too, was giving Wu a look, although not as hostile as Garmadon was.

"What is going on?!" Lloyd snapped, standing up. "Did something happen?"

"Lloyd, sit down! You're hurt!" his mother quickly scolded him.

Lloyd reluctantly sat down, but the unease in his stomach wasn't leaving. "What happened?"

Misako and Garmadon exchanged a glance, and Wu wore a guilty expression.

"Well…" Misako began. "I suppose you don't know how you were found out about?"
Lloyd cocked an eyebrow. "No." He was trying to figure out if they were implying that Wu had told on him, but that didn't sound right. "How did they find out?"

"You remember Morro, right?" Misako asked him.

The name sounded familiar… Lloyd shook his head no.

"Wu adopted him when we still lived in the city, the year we were kicked out," Misako explained.

"Oh!" Lloyd gasped. "The kid with the green streak in his hair?"

Misako nodded. "Yes, him."

"And you also remember how Wu kept on disappearing?" Garmadon asked, giving Wu a look.

Lloyd frowned in confusion. "Yeah…?"

"Well, turns out he had been training Morro to be a ninja. Yesterday Morro turned on him and told the city on you." Garmadon was now glaring at Wu.

Lloyd felt shock ripple through him.

"That's not exactly how it went…" Misako interrupted. "Morro had told Wu that if he didn't train him, then he would tell the city on you. Yesterday, he'd asked for something very powerful, and dangerous. Wu wasn't able to give it to him. If he had, then Morro may have killed us all. Since Wu didn't give him what he wanted, he tied Wu up and then told the police on you."

Lloyd wasn't sure how he felt about this. He glanced at the three of them. "Okay, but then why are you mad at Wu if it wasn't his fault?"
Garmadon shook his head, a frown on his face. "He could have told us, at the very least. And, he could have dealt with Morro in the beginning instead of agreeing to train him."

"What do you mean I could've 'dealt' with him?" Wu demanded, suddenly angry, and whirling to face him.

Garmadon gave him a steady glare. "It means exactly what I implied."

"I couldn't have just killed him!"

"For Lloyd's safety, you could have!" Garmadon barked back.

Lloyd glanced between the two of them, now arguing back and forth. He wasn't used to seeing them fight, at least not seriously. He felt a sense of unease come over him. What if Garmadon forced Wu to leave? Would he ever see him again?

"Stop it, the both of you!" Misako snapped suddenly.

They both stopped, but continued glaring at each other.

"Stop bickering like children! Especially in front of Lloyd! There may very well have been a way Wu could've told us, but at least he tried to protect Lloyd. Now, we need to figure out what's for lunch."

Wu turned, stiffly leaving the room.

Garmadon shook his head, glaring after him.

Misako sighed, then put the games down on the table. "Lloyd, when's the last time you ate anything?"

Lloyd frowned, suddenly not sure. His stomach growled, and so he assumed it'd been awhile.

Misako frowned, then went to the fridge. "We went foraging for food earlier today." She took out some berries, along with some vegetables. "But I'm not sure if we have enough for your friends… We'll have to go out to forage again."

"And how do we know that these people won't tell on us?" Garmadon asked skeptically.

"They won't," Lloyd told him, although unease about Cole still lingered.

Garmadon narrowed his eyes at him. "And how can you be so sure? They're humans."

"They helped me escape, remember? They had plenty of opportunities to report me, but they didn't."

Garmadon didn't look convinced.

"I'm going to go out and find some food," Misako told them. "I'll be back in a bit." She left the room.

Lloyd watched her leave, then stood up.

"Where do you think you're going?" Garmadon asked. "Your mother told you to rest."

"I know, I'm just going to find the others," Lloyd replied. He left when his father made no further objection, heading for the living room where they most likely were. Garmadon followed him.

As Lloyd had suspected, he found them all in the living room. They had seemed to be in deep conversation, but had stopped when they walked in. Lloyd frowned, unsure what that meant. They were probably talking about him.

Lloyd walked over to them cautiously, still not sure how they felt about him. He knew for sure that Cole still hated him, but he wasn't sure about the others. He sat down about two yards away.

Garmadon stood in the doorway, glaring at the ninja suspiciously.

Lloyd gave his dad a pointed look. He seemed to have gotten the message, because he reluctantly left. Then Lloyd anxiously looked back at the ninja, all of them still silent.

Nya gave him smile, and Lloyd felt surprise flash through him. She gestured for him to come over.

Lloyd hesitantly did, avoiding everyone's gaze. He sat down a yard in front of the couch, a few feet from Kai, who was also on the floor. Cole, Jay, and Nya sat on the couch.

"Listen, guys," Lloyd began tentatively. He wanted to at least try to fix their friendship. "I, uh, I'm really sorry… I—"

"No, I'm sorry," Nya interrupted him.

Lloyd looked at her in surprise.

Nya glanced away. "I shouldn't have judged you based on what you were. I… I thought that half breeds were bad—evil. I never—I never would have thought that some were good…" Nya fell silent, still not meeting his gaze.

Lloyd stared at her in shock, not having expected that at all.

"I'm sorry, too," Jay suddenly spoke up. He fiddled with his sleeves, pointedly looking down. "I thought that all half breeds were evil, too. If it hadn't been for Zane…" He trailed off.

Lloyd blinked, now even more shocked. "So… does this mean… we're still friends?" he tentatively asked.

Nya nodded vigorously, smiling. "Of course!"

"Yup!" Jay agreed.

Lloyd felt a surge of relief and happiness, a grin coming onto his face. He still had friends. It may be only three, Nya, Jay, and Zane, but he was just happy he had any friends.
