Summer ended and school started the beginning of September, their Junior year. Xander showed up at Cordelia's to pick her up for school in his rebuilt car and it was a rather impressive dark blue Camaro and bonus, a convertible.
"That was in Uncle Rory's junkyard?" Cordelia asked, eyeing the car.
"Rich kid who's daddy probably bought him his license crashed it. Front end damage, but not really worth ending up in the junkyard for. But rich daddy."
"Easier to buy a new one than get it repaired." She nodded, this logic she understood. She climbed into the passenger seat. "Nice leather."
"Just needed to be clean up."
Spike had a yen to drive over the Welcome to Sunnydale sign as he and Drusilla arrived in Sunnydale that night, so he did. Dru giggled. "We should pay great-grandfather a visit, Spoike." She told him. "He'll be most cross with us if we don't."
"Yeah, ole bat face has minions of his own, don't he? And word gets around, so where do he find him?"
"In the sewers, with grandmother."
"Darla's still around? So what's the old tart up to these days?"
"Missing Daddy. And serving great-grandfather."
"Angelus got himself cursed, love. You remember, Darla wanted the old Angelus back and found out she couldn't get him back."
"Secrets, secrets, whispered by the stars."
"Angelus had a secret?"
"Great-grandfather will be happy to see us and I have a secret for grandmother."
"Alright, let's find them than. Show me the way, love" Drusilla pointed and Spike drove in the direction she indicated. "Then we'll find your cure."
Spike parked near a sewer entrance Drusilla indicated and the two headed into the sewers, following the thread of blood and power that connected them childe to Sire, Spike to Dru, Dru to Darla through Angelus until they came out in a cave lit with candles.
"Love what you've done with the place. It just screams I'm trapped in the past." Spike taunted as he walked in.
"Spike." Darla said distastefully. "What are you doing here?"
"Dru thought we should pay our respects and all."
"Dru?" The ancient vampire standing behind Darla inquired.
"Angelus' masterpiece, Master." Darla reminded him.
"Angelus, he was the most vicious vampire I ever knew. I miss him."
"So do I." Darla said sourly.
"He was to sit at my right hand come the day of Glory and now where is he? Cursed by gypsies and cowering somewhere."
"Dust. He is dust." Drusilla answered. "His thoughts stank of the naughty Slayer, he thought of nothing else. He would have had what he wanted. But the One Who Sees found him first. And now he is dust."
Silence as the others processed Drusilla's words.
"Angelus has been destroyed?" The Master asked. "Destroyed by a Seer, most unusual."
"What do you mean his thoughts stank of a Slayer?" Darla demanded.
"The naughty Slayer was all he could think of. She would have given Daddy back to us, but the One Who Sees found him first."
"Given Daddy back to us?" Darla asked confused.
"The Angel-beast would have been no more."
"The soul." Darla realized. "There was a way to get rid of it! And this Slayer would have done it?! How?!"
"Love and peace."
Again silence as they processed this. "She would have loved him and given him peace?" Darla suggested, trying to understand what the Mad Seer was saying.
"Yes. But Daddy, vicious Daddy, would have come back and such sweet songs we would have sung, but no more, no more will we sing, for not Daddy is dust."
"Come closer, child, and tell me everything you know."
"Oi, we got our own business to see to. Dru is sick, she is and there's a cure some where in Sunnydale. We need to be looking for it."
"Soon Spoike." Drusilla told him. "We need a few things first. But great-grandfather has spoken and we will heed."
"Fine." Spike moved over to the wall of the cave and sat down. "Have your talk, love. I'll be here when you're ready to go."
"What else do you have to tell me Seer?" The Master asked.
"Such fun toys above, great-grandfather. They bark and hiss and cackle and hide their faces from us, but not from the One Who Sees."
"Again with this Seer." Darla snarled. "What makes him so special?"
Drusilla just looked at her.
"What else do you know about him?"
"He walks the night and hunts. Be careful grandmother or he will hunt you."
"Not if I hunt him first." Darla snarled back. "If he took away Angelus' chance to come back to me, I'll torture this Seer for a century."
"As will I." The Master agreed. "Angelus was the best of us. The soul brought him low, honestly a Slayer? And I thought he couldn't sink any lower than the gutter he hid in for so long."
Darla stalked over to Spike, angry and needing to take it out on someone. "You said she's sick, how?"
"I don't know. She nearly died when a mob in Prague caught her and just kept getting weaker. Then she told me she was sick and the cure was here, so we came here. She didn't mention Angelus 'til we got here. Maybe she didn't know 'til we got here. Sensed it or something, never been sure just how she does what she does and knows what she knows, but she's never been wrong and you know that too. It's why Angelus was so fascinated with her."
"I want to know who this Seer is and how to find him. I'm going to find him and torture him." She vowed.
"Dru gave you a warning for a reason, Darla. Have your vengeance, but be careful. Like I said, she's never been wrong."
A/N Writing Drusilla is fun, I should have her in more stories.
