Hey hi i'm dying

When they went back to school, Leo and Jason walked together between classes, talking and laughing(quietly). It was pretty fun to go around together, ignoring the weird looks people gave them. To add to it, Piper had even invited them to her non-costume Halloween party, it was the same night, starting at nine and going...fucking late was all Leo remembered.

Jason hooked his arm around Leo's, then putting it back into his pocket as the guy from Friday walked past. He glared at him, hating the idea of the boy kissing Leo.

The boy looked embarrassed and ashamed.

He better be.

Leo tugged on Jason's sleeve slightly, laughing quietly. "Jace- that looked so fucking cute now that I know you-" He saw Jason blush slightly, and look away, muttering, "I just don't like him okay"

He bit his lip. Jason made him nervous still, but he was practically sure he felt the same way, from the gently breathed words to the occasional soft kisses. Leo's mind was made up. By Christmas, if it hadn't come out sooner, he'd say something, and he would try and hint otherwise. When Jason smiled, he sword his heart was going to fly out of his chest and into the blue-eyed boy's hands. It sounded cheesy, or cliche, or whatever the fuck, but it was true.

But, Jason was...going over to Percy's house today.

Math class was almost done, and after that, Jason would be at Percy's house till about four hours to the party, he would have dinner someplace else then Leo would drive Jason to the party.

When it ended, Jason waved good-bye to Leo, and walked off with Percy, laughing and talking.

Leo knew he had no logical reason to be upset, Percy and Jason had been friends just as long as Leo and Jason had, but a small part of him protested that it wasn't about that. Jason was his friend and it would always bother him to some degree to see his friends with someone else, but with Jason it was so much different.

Most of him protested that Jason was his. Not just his friend, but his, in the very heart of it that was what it felt like as he walked out of school grounds. Nobody else's, just his. At least, that was what he wanted for some damn reason.

Ugh. Leo had no right to feel this way, they weren't dating so he had no right. Honestly, Leo just wanted to pull the blue-eyed boy's head down to his for a searing kiss that they both knew meant something and that he'd never forget.

He'd always denied himself kissing Jason like it meant something. Leo had never kissed Jason like himself, just a version of himself that didn't slip through the cracks as messily and emotionally as he did.

Opening the front door, Leo felt Festus, his cat, wind around his legs, purring in an accusatory way. Well, doesn't the cat always know first? Plus, Festus had been there when he kissed Jason once, just a peck on the lips, but he had this weird suspicion that the cat knew.

"¿Leo, eres tu?"

"Si, mama!"

"Would you come help me in the kitchen?"

"Yep!" Leo said, taking his shoes off quickly, running to set his bag down, then to the kitchen trying and failing not to look like the anxious mess he currently was.

His mother took one look at him, and said, "Sit in that chair, and tell me what's wrong?"

Leo tried to find words, then sighed and sat in the folding chair. "Boys I guess. Dumb as hell. Me, not them." His mother sighed in frustration, crossing her heart to cast out the devil(at that Leo almost laughed).

She stirred the pot of soup, and said, "That 'Jayden' boy who you're almost always hanging out with, right?"

"Jason, and...yep."

His mother raised her eyebrows, and said, "What happened between you two?"

"We...uh...might've kissed. Once-" When she gave him a glare, he quickly said, "Okay three times but that's not the point- We're not like, dating, or, even talking about it, we just kiss as a regular thing and label ourselves as 'friends' and it's really stressing me out since I really like him and I just have to pretend like this doesn't effect me at all!"

She said, "Has it ever occurred to you that you don't have to, and that he wouldn't have kissed you if he didn't like you, mijo?"

Leo blinked, and muttered, "Uh, thanks I guess? Also, what did you need help with?"

"Would you stirr the soup? Also, I got your text about the party, if there's drinking, only two rules: No tequila, and especially no sex-" she was interrupted by Leo choking on god-knows-what, only half-shocked that his mother had said something about that.

"Uh, mom, the second one, I don't think you'll need to worry about that, I'm a minor if you do remember?"

She laughed slightly, and said, "That's why I'm worried, mi mijo."

Leo couldn't help a smile, and said, "Gracias, mama." He walked to his room, and changed into a light t-shirt and shorts. Honestly, he was exhausted mentally and physically. Leo took out his book after locking his door. His mom didn't know he had it, and she liked the series, but it'd be awkward to explain having accidentally stolen Heartstopper from an ex-friend.

Plus, she didn't know he even read BL!

Probably never will, huh?

Leo sighed, opening the book. It seemed like only about ten minutes before his phone rang. He checked the time, and it was about time to pick up Jason. He picked up the call quickly, shoving shoes on.

"Hey Jace, is it time to pick you up, or...?"

"Uh, could you- Perce I was just saying that I don't like blue skittles-"

Leo laughed slightly at that, but it felt forced.

As he drove to Percy's house, he sighed. Did Jason like Percy? And if he did, what would that mean for them?
