Voight assisted Erin in entering the house and guided her to sit on the couch so that he could return to the truck and retrieve her bags, allowing her to relax.
Meanwhile, Voight was unloading things from the truck. Erin proceeded to Voight's bedroom to take a shower, indicating to Voight that she needed to cleanse herself of the feeling of Roland despite having just been discharged from the hospital.
'Erin?' Voight called out after placing the bags on the floor for later storage and realizing that his girlfriend was not on the couch.
'In the bedroom,' Erin replied. Voight went to the bedroom and saw Erin undressing. 'Are you okay?' Voight asked, showing concern for his partner as he observed her with a smile on her face.
'Yeah, everything is alright,' she reassured while approaching him. 'But I would feel even better if you kissed me,' Erin expressed, placing her hands on his cheeks with a smile. 'Erin…' Voight whispered, sensing that something was amiss with her based on her behavior.
Voight took Erin's hands and lowered them, which prompted a frown from the brunette at his rejection. 'We must have a conversation,' he stated as he guided her to his bed and seated her. Erin expressed her displeasure, disliking both the term 'talk' and the expression on his face.
Jay's words echoed in Voight's mind, 'Don't expect Erin to stay with someone like you.' Voight acknowledged he was being unjust to her. 'Erin, I… don't…' he attempted to speak, but the brunette interrupted, 'Hank? What is wrong?' she inquired with a frown.
Erin was uncertain about what Voight was trying to communicate to her, wearing a frown on her face. Was he going to mention Roland or something similar? 'Just hear me out, Erin,' Voight whispered, holding her hand.
'You are merely using Erin, Voight, and you are aware of it,' Jay proclaimed in Voight's mind. 'She should be with someone closer to her age.' Voight disregarded the young man's voice in his head. 'I believe we should stop this,' he stated, biting his lip as he observed the confusion and hurt on her face.
Voight sighed, disliking that he was causing pain to Erin, but he acknowledged that Jay was correct. Realizing he shouldn't involve Erin any further, he considered breaking up with her without disclosing her pregnancy and Roland's involvement for her safety.
'What?' Erin inquired, her hazel eyes widening in confusion, seeking clarification on Voight's statement.
'What are you saying we can't do?' she whispered, struggling to hold back tears as she comprehended his implication. 'I'm stating that we cannot be together, not now or in the future,' Voight announced, averting his gaze to evade witnessing the anguish in Erin's eyes.
Erin gazed at him, her eyes wide as tears loomed, 'What do you mean?' she questioned softly, 'That we can't be together?' she pressed, recognizing that most of their team members are supportive of their relationship, assuming they had deduced it a while ago.
'It is inconsequential, Linds,' Voight remarked as he observed her rise from her seat, 'You should seek someone closer to your age, perhaps Halstead would be a suitable match,' he suggested, 'You and him seemed to hit it off when you were first partnered together.'
Erin's hazel eyes narrowed as she stated, 'I do not desire Halstead, nor have I ever.' She expressed confusion regarding Voight's attempts to set her up with Jay, especially considering his initial resistance to her relationship with Jay.
'I am interested in you, Hank, .' She then wrapped her arms around his neck and leaned in for a kiss. Voight turned his head, causing her kiss to land on his cheek.
'I regret to inform you, Erin, that we must end this now. I believe it is time for you to reside in your own apartment,' he said. Erin, the brunette, swallowed and bit her lip as she stood up from his lap.
Before she could finish her sentence, Voight interrupted her. 'I no longer want you, Lindsay. Leave!' His outburst startled Erin, prompting her to step back as he turned away, not allowing her to glimpse his tears through her hazel eyes.
Voight expressed, 'You are nothing but a waste of space. I don't know why I wasted my time on you in the first place.' He hoped that this statement would prompt Erin to leave, despite ignoring the hurt evident on her face.
Erin, in response to this hostility, stated, 'Okay, fine, if you want to be a dick, then so be it,' before making her way to the door.
Erin, glancing back at Voight, remarked, 'Many people frequently tell me that I am a waste of space, and I am accustomed to such remarks,' while observing his turned head. She added, 'But I never expected you to say it,'
Holding back tears and attempting to maintain composure by stating, 'I guess if this is what you want, then so be it,' as she vigorously slammed the door shut, causing some pictures to rattle.
Showing signs of regret, Voight flinched as Erin left, swallowing hard as he stared at the location where she had been standing moments before, feeling awful for having crossed the line with his final words.
" I'm sorry, Erin." Voight Whispered.

Erin strode through the rain with her arms crossed over her chest, opting not to call a taxi to take her home as she grappled with her emotions stemming from her encounter with Voight.
Tears streamed down her face as she pondered the recent events between them. She questioned what had shifted in Voight's perspective, as she had believed their relationship was on solid ground. Frustrated, she muttered to herself, unable to shake off her thoughts.
The sound of a car approaching interrupted her reverie, prompting Erin to gaze up in anticipation, torn between hoping it was Voight to apologize and asking her to come back and fearing it would be him after his hurtful parting words. As the figure emerged from the car, part of her yearned for it to be Voight apologizing, while another part dreaded facing him again.
'If Voight truly deems me worthless,' she mused, disheartened upon seeing Kelly instead. 'Why did Voight even come to my rescue all those years ago?' she contemplated, puzzled by his past actions.
Erin desired to continue walking, but she anticipated that Kelly would instruct her to stop her. 'Erin, what are you doing out in this rain?' Kelly inquired with his voice raised in response to the thunder overhead, ensuring that she could hear him.
The brunette nonchalantly shrugged her shoulders as she observed Kelly approaching her, wishing only to flee from her friend. 'Is everything alright?' Kelly queried, perplexed as to why Erin was outside in the rain and by herself.
'I…I'm fine,' Erin replied as she began to move away from her ex-boyfriend, who delicately grasped her arm to prevent her from escaping. 'Erin, come on, why don't I drive you home?' he proposed. 'You're freezing cold,' he remarked as he enveloped the brunette in his arms.
Despite wanting to shout at Kelly to leave her alone, Erin lacked the energy to do so. Instead, she just nodded in agreement and allowed him to escort her to his blue mustang. He assisted her into the passenger seat before taking the driver's seat and transporting her to her apartment.
During the car ride, Kelly drove while Erin gazed out the window lost in her thoughts. She pondered why Hank had saved her from Roland. She wondered if he only did it out of obligation. Erin's hazel eyes remained fixed on the window as she tried to suppress any signs of distress.
Upon arriving at Erin's apartment building, Kelly inquired, 'Do you want me to accompany you inside?' Observing tears flowing down Erin's face, he gently said, 'Hey, Linds?' sensing that something was amiss as Erin avoided making eye contact.
Kelly softly uttered, 'Erin?' as he reached out his arms towards her and embraced her. Feeling her sobs, he watched with a mix of concern and anger, uncertain of the cause of her distress but certain that someone was responsible for her current state.
Erin sought solace in Kelly's embrace, tears streaming down her face as she leaned into his chest. Eventually, Erin pulled away after what felt like an eternity, apologetically expressing, 'I'm sorry, Kelly. I didn't mean to-'
Kelly whispered to Erin, looking into her hazel eyes, 'Do you want to tell me what has got you like this?' Erin shook her head and replied, 'No, it's just been a long day,' as she opened the door. Erin expressed her gratitude to Kelly for the ride and he advised her, 'Don't worry, just change out of those wet clothes.'
With a small smile, he added, 'And don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything.' Erin thanked him softly, closed the door, and watched Kelly drive away with a heavy heart, wondering if she should have invited him in.
Upon entering her apartment, Erin paused to glance around, realizing she hadn't been there for months, but now she needed to adjust. She proceeded to the kitchen, poured herself a glass of the vodka placed on the counter, and settled in.
Erin took out her phone to check for any messages from Voight, but the only message she found was from Kelly: 'Call or text me whenever you need anything, I'll be there for you.' She smiled at the text, replied with 'I will, thank you Kelly,' and sent it. Erin then ensured she had no new messages from Voight, questioning why he would even contact her after what he had said to her.
She murmured to herself, 'He did break up with your sorry ass.' Collapsing to the floor, the brunette let out another wave of sobs, feeling the weight of solitude dawning on her.
In a moment of despair, she cried out, 'Why did you bother wasting your time on me if you truly believed I wasn't worth it?' After spending hours crying and consuming a whole bottle of vodka, Erin took a shower and went to bed with a heavy heart, contemplating, 'Maybe I should have let Roland take me, perhaps it would have been better.'
