Chapter 2: The Mask:
Mack Suckerburg's POV - Present:
Mack Suckerburg here and I'm now digging up something really special... an ancient mask that rumor says Lou Pickles buried! Well, it's mine now! Now I just gotta figure out why Lou Pickles buried it in the Center of the Earth.
Susie's POV:
I was helping my Mommy shop for Kwanzaa.
"What do you think," asks my Mommy.
"There isn't that much for Kwanzaa," I said.
"That's the problem," says Mommy, "not many people think our culture is that important."
"I think I might have what you're looking for."
"Mack Stuckburger," I asked.
"Hey... one of pigtail girls," says Mack.
"How do you two know each other," asks Mommy.
"Never mind that," says Mack, "behold, an African mask! I think you'd like this. It's one of a kind and no one else would buy it, so, could you?"
"Well, it is nice," says Mommy.
"I wouldn't trust him," I said.
"How much is it," asks Mommy.
. . .
"Eighty Dollars," says Mommy, "Susie, I should've listened to you!"
"At least it's a nice mask," I said, "we could hang it on the wall."
I then thought I saw the eye holes glow.
To Be Continued
