Hey there everyone how's it going today?
Well here it is the last chapter of a different path to take vol1.
Now as I said in the last chapter, this one will cover the battle between Ash and Tucker.
Also there will be some surprises in store in this chapter.
Also the harem list for Ash and Dante will be updated like I said in the last chapter.
Now then I have asked you all to see what new move should Ash's Pikachu learned next?
I will reveal the answer at the end of the chapter.
So sit back and enjoy the last chapter of vol1.
So here we go.

Chapter 40: Ash vs Tucker a battle of tactics.
"And Begin!" shouted Victor to start the match.
"Swellow use quick attack on Swampert!"ordered Ash.
Swellow then backed up a bit and then charges while glowing a white streak as it charges towards Swampert.
"Wow what a aim, one attack extreme speed Arcanine like the wind go!" said Tucker.
Arcanine then jumped off Swampert and becomes surrounded by white energy as it charges into Swellow who was shocked and landed a hit sending Swellow flying back.
But Swellow was able to recover and stand strong.
"Quick Corphish get in there and help Swellow, use Bubble Beam on Arcanine!" Ash ordered.
Corphish opened it's right pincer and fired orange colored bubbles at Arcanine.
"Go Swampert my guardian of iron, protect Arcanine!" Tucker shouted.
Swampert jumped in front of Arcanine and formed a green energy barrier protecting Arcanine from the attack and Ash growled in a bit of frustration.
The gang talked about the moves that Ash and Tucker used and it was a mixed response, they admit that Tucker's strategies were sound having Arcanine in the front and having Swampert for back up is a good combo, but Ash's strategies were good as well.
"Come on Ash you got this." Whispered Dante.
Even Tucker was impressed and told Ash to show him more of his power and so did Arcanine and Swampert.
"Don't worry you'll see plenty of that." Said Ash.
Corphish and Swellow back up their trainer's words.
"Ok Swellow use Aerial Ace!" Ash said.
Swellow moved fast towards Arcanine.
"Finally a Trainer with some bold ideas, Arcanine into the skies with Aerial Ace!" Tucker commanded.
That shocked both Ash and May.
Arcanine ran towards Swellow with great speed as both Pokémon were covered in white streaks and collided with each other and both took damage. Swellow was sent flying and Arcanine landed on the field skidding forwards towards Corphish.
Ash sees an opening.
"Corphish use Vice grip on Arcanine now!" commanded Ash.
Corphish launched itself towards Arcanine with its pincer opened.
"Swampert use mud shot go!" ordered Tucker.
Swampert opened its mouth and fired multiple glowing light blue balls at Corphish.
Arcanine looked from the corner of its eye and jumped out of the way and the attack hit Corphish sending it back to Ash's stand and the blue balls hit Corphish it turn to mud.
Swellow landed next to Corphish.
Both of them groaned from the damage they took and glared at Swampert and Arcanine.
Ash had to admit that was a good combo Tucker did.
The others shared their thoughts as well, Ash had the right idea to go after Arcanine but Tucker had a better idea to counter that, his style was to make his opponent use their strongest attacks and then counter it.
"True, as a trainer and entertainer, Tucker is quite the tactician and he's very good." Said Dante.
"Let's hope what Ash said at the conference helps him out and get a good read on Tucker's moves and be flexible to win." Said Ty-lee.
"Agreed." Grunted Dante.
Both Swellow and Corphish got back up and wanting to keep battling.
Tucker was impressed with their spirit and that keeps him inspired.
"Now Swampert water gun!"
Swampert releases a spiral of water from its mouth.
"Dodge it!" Ash shouted.
Both Pokémon got out of the away and headed towards Tucker's team.
"Crab hammer go!" Ash said.
Corphish pincher glowed white ready to strike.
"Swampert use Dynamic Punch!" countered Tucker.
Swampert's fist becomes surrounded in an orange aura and it punches Crab hammer.
The attacks were so strong it ended in a draw sending them both back, dealing damage in the process.
Then Arcanine jumped on Swampert and in the air.
"Swellow use Peck on Arcanine!" said Ash.
Swellow flies towards Arcanine with great speed.
"Burn with your fiery might, now Arcanine Flame Thrower!" says Tucker.
Arcanine then let out a stream of orange-yellow fire from its mouth and it headed towards Swellow.
"Double Team!" shouted Ash.
Swellow made copies of itself and avoided the attack surrounded Arcanine.
"Clever, you think you can try to confuse us don't you? But those tricks won't work here, let your fire flower blossom Arcanine Fire Blast!" said Tucker.
Arcanine's pupils glow orange, it then fires five blasts of fire from its body. When seen above, the blast looks like a 大.
It took out all the copies of Swellow leaving the real one in trouble.
"Dodge it!" shouted Ash.
Swellow dodge the attack just in time.
"There's gotta be a way to beat them." Said Ash.
Max and May were impressed that Arcanine changed Flame thrower into Fire Blast and it was like watching a contest.
"This is one serious battler." Added Brock.
"Indeed." Dante chimed in.
"The trick for Ash is to find a hole in Tucker's combinations and pick apart his defenses once and for all." Scott said.
"Impressive now Swampert!" shouted Tucker.
Swampert then got on all 4's as it tail glows orange.
Ash was surprised by that and so was Pikachu.
"Let me show you, my dear Swampert is collecting all the moisture in the air and transforming it into the most powerful water attack." Explained Tucker.
His fans cheered for him like crazy.
While Swampert was charging up, Ash saw his chance to attack.
"Swellow quick attack!" shouted Ash.
Swellow moved fast and was glowing white as it charged to attack.
"Not bad, but you overlook one thing Arcanine Extreme speed!" Tucker bellowed.
Arcanine charged towards Swellow and intercept it.
"Got you." Said Ash. "Now Swellow close up steel wing!"
"What?" Tucker said.
Swellow's wings glowed white and then slammed them into Arcanine's face making it fall back.
"I know Steel Wing don't do much to fire types, but if used in the right way it can leave a mark." Ash said.
"Unexpected move, I must say Ash that was impressive." Tucker said.
"Now Corphish attack Swampert with Crab Hammer!" Ash followed up.
Corphish moved in with its pincer glowing white.
"Trying to get past Swampert's guard is an great move, but your time is up. Now Swampert Water Pulse!" Tucker says.
Swampert then fire a geyser at Corphish and Swellow and sucks it up into a water tornado.
"Corphish, Swellow!" shouted Ash.
"It's too late, Now Arcanine Fire Blast!" shouted Tucker.
Arcanine launches a devastating Fire Blast within the structure rotating around creating a fusion of fire and water.
Both Pokémon were taking a lot of damage from the attacks and when it exploded it knocked them to the floor.
"This is bad." Said Max.
"That attack was overwhelming!" added May.
"Ash you have my respect, your courage has force me to use my greatest of tactics. I can't remember a more enjoyable challenge." Said Tucker.
Even team rocket admits that.
Ash was now in trouble and his team took a major hit, but despite all that he won't back down.
"Corphish, Swellow if you 2 can here me, get up!" he shouted.
That surprised everyone.
"Look I know we're in a tight spot and I must admit Tucker is a amazing tactician. But still we faced off against stronger opponents. Corphish I know you helped me against Brawly in the rematch and Swellow you shown a lot of guts facing against Winona and her Swellow and even stopping Tyson's Donphan with your feet. So if you 2 have that fighting spirit within you, wake them up and show Tucker a thing or two!" Ash said to them.
Victor went over to see if they continue battling.
Corphish and Swellow heard Ash's words and then as if a great fire within them awaken they got back up and let out some battle cries showing they are not beat yet.
Ash told Victor he can still go.
He thanked his Pokémon and told them they'll beat Tucker yet.
"That's the kind of dedication a trainer myself lives for. Arcanine flame thrower, Swampert Water gun!" said Tucker.
Ash grunted as another combo attack was used and both Arcanine and Swampert fired their attacks at Corphish.
"Corphish quick Bubble beam!" said Ash.
Corphish fired his attack at the other moves stopping it, but when Bubble beam stop Flame Thrower it created a bit of fog which lasted for a few seconds and that is when Ash knew how to beat Tucker.
Then he noticed Swellow like its eyes glowed a light blue.
'Wait a minute.' He thought.
He took out his Pokédex and scanned Swellow and his eyes widen at the new move it learned.
'Ok Tucker is in for a big surprise.' Ash grinned in his mind.
"Swampert Dynamic Punch let's go!" shouted Tucker.
Swampert was above Corphish ready to attack.
"Quick Swellow use Quick attack!" said Ash.
Swellow charged towards Swampert with another quick attack.
"Extreme speed Arcanine!" Tucker added.
Arcanine was right behind Swellow with Extreme speed and Ash made his move.
"Swellow Double team!" he said.
Swellow made a copy and Arcanine went through it and crashed into Swampert dealing both damage to each other.
May was surprised that Swellow beat Extreme speed and Brock explained that Ash had quick attack to increase the speed of double team.
"impressive top notch as always, Arcanine use fire blast now!" said Tucker.
Arcanine launches another Fire Blast but this time Ash was waiting for it.
Corphish use bubble beam on top of Swellow!" said Ash.
Corphish jumped on Swellow's back and fired bubble beam and it collided with fire blast making a giant fog bank.
With their visibility limited by the fog Ash was now ready to strike.
Tucker was very impressed but he told Swampert and Arcanine to be careful and keep an eye out.
As Swampert and Arcanine did that, it was time to end it.
"Swellow your fastest quick attack!" said Ash.
Swellow charges in with its fastest quick attack from the front.
Tucker saw it coming and order an intercept combo.
Arcanine and Swampert used Extreme speed and Dynamic punch.
Ash saw that coming and Swellow and Corphish floats to the left and avoided them just as the fog lifted.
"Quick turnaround!" shouted Tucker in shock.
"Sorry Tucker but this time you got out played, now for the new move. Corphish use Crab Hammer on Arcanine and Swellow finish Swampert off with Sky attack!" said Ash.
"WHAT?!" said Tucker.
Corphish leaped off Swellow and struck Arcanine with Crab Hammer and Swellow then fly high in the air and gathered light blue energy and then took with great speed and struck Swampert hard sending them both to the ground.
Tucker was completely surprised.
"He knocked them both out at the same time." He said.
Victor then floated over and made the call.
"Swampert and Arcanine can't continue Swellow and Corphish are the winners, that means the victory goes to Ash of Pallet town." He said.
"We did it!" Ash said as he jumped for joy and so did Pikachu.
He came to his Pokémon and thanked them for a hard fought battle.
Tucker recalled his Pokémon and thanked them for combos and tactics.
The gang was impressed and happy Ash has won and beaten Tucker but his fans were a bit worried that their hometown hero lost.
Then Tucker came up to them clapping his hands.
Ash thanked Tucker for the battle and Tucker congrats Ash for showing great tactics and flexibility and he's first rate tactician.
Tucker congratulates Ash, everyone begins to scream. Tucker thanks Ash for the battle and shook hands.
Tucker then told everyone to give Ash one more round of applause and they went louder than before.
As Tucker leaves, Ash mentions that he forgot to give him the Tactics Symbol. Tucker points to the top of his hat as Ash pulls it from atop his head and happily displays his newly obtained Symbol.
"Alright the tactics symbol and it's all mine!" Said Ash with his Pokémon cheering.
"I hope we can battle again someday Tucker." Said Ash.
"I look for toward it my friend." Tucker said.
At the Pokémon center Ash had Nurse Joy look after Corphish and Swellow after the battle and he went outside to admire his newest symbol as the sun was setting.
"I can't believe it Pikachu this is our 3rd symbol we won and I know that number 4 won't be easily won." He said.
"Pika." Said Pikachu.
"True but we got time before the next frontier battle."
Ash turned to see May, Dante and Ty-lee coming up to him.
"Oh hey guys what brings you out here?" he asked.
"Well we wanted to see what you're doing and well May wanted to give you something." Said Dante.
"What's that?" he asked puzzled.
May didn't say anything except she walked up to Ash and then planted a kiss on his lips.
Ash was so surprised that his hat fly off his head.
Pikachu was able to catch it.
May then pulled back and Ash had a blush on his face.
"What was that for?" he asked.
"For the speech you gave to Corphish and Swellow and also winning." She said with a smile.
"Well then let me try this." Said Ash and he kissed May on the lips which took her by surprise.
"Well, well Ash is slowly learning." Whispered Dante.
"Indeed Dante." Whispered Ty-lee.
May was surprised but she kissed back and wrapped her arms around his neck and Ash wrapped his arms around her waist.
Dante and Ty-lee couldn't help but smiled at the two.
"Pika?" said Pikachu holding Ash's hat.
"Don't worry Pikachu." Said Dante picking him up and walking up to the love birds.
"Ok Ash I think that's it for now." He said.
Ash and May broke off the kiss and were blushing bright red.
"Sorry." they said.
"It's fine, now come we better get some rest before we head off tomorrow." Said Dante.
"Right." Said Ash.
He put his hat back on and they went back inside but Ash and May were holding hands and they had a small blush on their cheeks.
'Well that was unexpected, Ash has defeated Tucker and got the tactics symbol and he learned a lot from him as well, also Swellow learned Sky Attack and his feelings for May are growing a bit stronger. So where will Ash go? Who will be the 4th frontier brain for him to face and what challenges he will come across? Find out next time as the Journey continues.'
Meanwhile…
Team Rocket led by Domino have landed near where the Black Fog lives and set up a forward base there and now she's getting a team together to go capture it.
"Ok grunts listen up! We found where the Black Fog lives, our mission is to capture it and bring it to Giovanni so we can use its powers for Team Rocket's goals, but it's dangerous so proceed with the utmost caution. That is all." She said.
"Yes Ma'am!" they answered.
"Good now go find and capture it!" she ordered.
The grunts took off and headed for the cave as Domino proceeded to contact HQ.
In the cave Black Fog was sensed their presences and a malicious grin appeared on its face.
"So fools are trying to capture me? Foolish idiots they are nothing more than food for my powers" it said in a dark voice.
Then it let out a big evil laugh (Like Megatron and Dr Claw's along with Steve Blum's Green goblin) that echoed throughout its mountain lair.
Looks like things are going to take a very dark and dangerous turn.
Next time: setting off again with a dangerous twist.

Now then I will say that vol 2 will be out some time in late July, but no promises.
Also this new project I am doing will be something I wanted to try for a while so I will be busy for quite some time.
Now then there will be a little sneak peak for vol 2 later on but that is all and when it will be uploaded? Who knows.
But for now I am off to get some much needed rest.
Oh for the new move for Pikachu God of the Challenge suggested Thunder wave and well Pikachu will learn that one, thanks for the suggestion.
