"We're going tonight to arrest him. I'm calling Leon." Cabe informed as he called the aforementioned contact.
"Hey Cabe, any news?" Leon wondered.
"We got Tyron, we're going tonight to arrest him. I said we'd see him the day after tomorrow to trick him. You'll meet us at Geneva right? At the international AI and robotics center." Cabe answered.
"Copy that, I'll meet you there in seventeen hours." Leon assured.
Cabe ended the call with his contact as he saw the same group of teenagers Ralph described.
"Hey, you kids need to stop right now! Why aren't you in school!?" Cabe hollered as he chased down the five teens. The group ran to the Hermitage, followed by an angry Homeland Security employee.
Regardless of his protests, everyone kept running. Eventually, Cabe lost them and decided he would be better off going to meet Leon in Geneva. So, he told everyone to pack it up and that someone would be sent to check on the exchange between Graven and Laura. Another long plane ride later and a few awkward exchanges with flight attendants (followed by a hint of Toby flirting and getting hit on the arm by Happy), everyone arrived in Geneva.
"Thank goodness Ralph's school was so understanding." Paige whispered under her breath.
The facility itself appeared nice from the outside, many windows, square 90-degree white planters and a polished appearance. The people working inside were very amiable as well. This set some members of team Scorpion at ease, while others were nervous. They all wondered who would know where Tyron was and saw someone who they thought might have the answer. It was a woman with pink hair, dark green eyes, a knee length fully buttoned full sleeve lab coat, mint green pants and brown shoes.
"Excuse me ma'am, you wouldn't happen to know where Lowell Tyron would be?" Cabe asked.
The woman shifted her focus to the hall. Cabe instantly noticed this as an uncomfortability marker. Cabe put a reassuring hand on her left shoulder.
"That man, don't trust anything he says." the woman warned.
"What does he say?" Cabe wondered.
"He married me, just so he could get ahold of my dead husband's notes. They worked on Project Carthage together. But, when Waldo said that Tyron was fired from the research team, he was furious. Waldo took the blueprints with us and hid them on a quantum supercomputer in the Renault car factory in France. After it was abandoned, that is. Tyron sought revenge and captured me. It turns out he was working with the Men In Black. On Christmas day when Aelita was little, they shoved me into a black Jeep and that was the last I ever saw of my darling daughter. I thought I was signing a paper saying that as long as I agreed to work with Tyron that Aelita and Waldo wouldn't be harmed. Only later on did I find out that it was a marriage certificate." the woman sobbed.
Cabe's heart broke. This poor woman, doing her best to be a wife and mother. With all of the issues she just listed, was barely holding it together.
"It's alright, we're here to arrest Tyron. We'll have you both sign divorce papers once we get him." Cabe assured.
"He's in the room at the end of the hall behind you. Take the turn to the right and keep moving forward." the woman notified.
"Alright, thank you miss, I didn't catch your name." Cabe mentioned.
"Anthea, Anthea Schaeffer hopefully once all this is over." Anthea smiled.
Cabe nodded and with a quick "I'll be back for you", went down the hall to make an arrest. Upon entering the room Anthea told him to find, Cabe saw Leon talking to someone. The man in question Leon was talking with had blue eyes, curly blond hair and was wearing chemistry goggles, a white labcoat, black pants and dark gray shoes. The two men turned around to greet Cabe.
"Mr. Tyron, it's a pleasure. Your wife was just telling us what a marvelous facility you have here." Cabe lied.
"I'd expect nothing less but the best. For the Cortex blueprints only the most upstanding equipment will do." Tyron agreed.
While the attention was turned from Leon, Cabe's partner in crime stopping placed Tyron in handcuffs.
"Lowell Tyron, you're under arrest for child endangerment, mental anguish and false imprisonment." Cabe notified as Leon ushered Tyron out of the room.
The other members of team Scorpion stared confusedly at Cabe.
"Uh, did we miss something here? Because I feel like there's something we might have missed." Toby remarked.
"We've got the culprit. Now to talk with the victim." Cabe replied as he went to check on Anthea.
"I can't thank you enough Mr. Gallo for all the help you've given me today. I will be forever in your debt." Anthea thanked tearfully.
"It's my pleasure. We'll have Tyron sign the papers while he's on the wait list to get a cell fit for a cybercriminal. Do you know where your daughter is now? If so, I'll get you a flight booked to her now." Cabe added.
"I know where she is." A male voice assured.
Everyone turned to look at the two men who just entered the building. Walter was standing next to a man with gray hair, glasses, brown eyes, an unbuttoned lab coat, a red long sleeve turtleneck sweater, black pants and brown shoes.
"Anthea, y-you're alright?" the man questioned.
"Waldo, I missed you so much." Anthea cried as she ran to greet the man.
Cabe, Paige, Ralph, Happy, Toby and Sylvester all stared at Walter, demanding to know what was going on.
"Let's leave them be, it was a long time getting him here." Walter advised as they went into the hall Cabe and Leon were in a moment ago.
"Okay, now can you tell us what's going on?" Sylvester hoped.
"That man is Anthea's husband. He and the man you arrested were part of Project Carthage. It was a military project started in nineteen seventy four. The project was meant to block enemy communications using artificial intelligence to filter out different kinds of radio chatter. At least, that's what Waldo and Anthea were led to believe. He still doesn't know the real reason behind it's creation. But what I do know is that you need to enlist them in the witness protection program." Walter explained.
Cabe nodded.
"And we need to get them both on a plan back to France so they can go home. We need to home too. Ralph has to get up early for school tomorrow." Walter reminded.
"Or, we can all relax on the couch and watch the Swamp Thing. They made a second movie." Paige suggested.
"I like that idea better. But if anybody messes with my peanuts or coffee, and you'll find yourself in a prison cell with Tyron for harrassing a government official." Cabe threatened.
Everyone nodded.
-A few days later-
Paige received a call on the phone.
"Hello, Paige?" Anthea spoke.
"It's good to hear from you Anthea. How are you doing?" Paige smiled.
"I'm doing fine. Waldo as well, he got his old teaching job back and Aelita has never been happier." Anthea beamed.
"That reminds me, Cabe has enlisted you, Waldo, Aelita and her friends under the witness protection program for Project Carthage. Wether Tyron will be able to have the same thing is currently being debated." Paige informed.
"I truly can't thank you and your team enough for all the help they've been. I'd better go, I promised Aelita we'd bake some chocolate chip cookies. Take care and thank you so much again." Anthea added before wishing Paige a good day and hanging up.
Paige was happy to get an opportunity to relax. As were the Lyoko warriors, life would continue on as it should. With Xana's supercomputer shut down and Xana along with it. Nobody would be harmed by Tyron or the evil AI again.
The End.
Thank you to everyone who has read this story. I hope you had as much fun reading this story as I did writing it.
