Well this is something I said I'd never do write a Star Wars story
Brief history Star Wars was my introduction to science fiction movies when I was a youngling and I've been a life long fan ever since
As for James Camerons Avatar visually the movies are incredible too bad the story isn't on the same level as the visuals the story isn't bad it's just bland and not something people are going to remember years from now
Here are the disclaimers
First I do not own either Star Wars or Avatar
Second due to how my brain is wired I do not register punctuation when I write if this will be a problem for you than please feel free to click the back button and read a different story

Due to the emails for Fanfiction dot net being down again I will post a list of all stories that have been updated/published in the month
Since this is the first thing I'm publishing in May there's no list

Tale of Sruun
The war was going to be over soon Sruun Te Kuekìekfa Näruitan thought as he walked through the temple towards the hangar to meet up with his padawan learner and his troops to rout out the Separatists hold out in the Ja'eron system
Dressed for war for what he hoped would be the last time in a clone armor chest piece and wrist gauntlets over his robes his lightsaber on his hip as always finally the tide of the war was turning in the Republics favor
Count Dooku was dead Greivous was on the run and the Separatists government was collapsing the droid army desprately fighting for survival
He nodded in greetings to fellow jedi he met in the hall smiling to a creche of younglings following after master Sinube Sruun paused in his steps when he felt a tug on his cloak Sruun looked down to see a little girl looking up at him
"Hello youngling" Sruun said kneeling down to her level "can I help you"
"What are you" the youngling asked curiously "I've never seen a being like you"
The other younglings curiously walked over to him Master Sinube standing behind the younglings
"Well younglings there's all kind of beings in the galaxy but only one like me because I come from beyond this galaxy" Sruun said pointing his arm out towards the ceiling
"I was born on a moon called Eywa'eveng in a distant galaxy with luminescent forests and floating mountains that the Ikran mighty dragons would fly between" the younglings were in awe of Sruuns story
"But how did you get here" a Rodian youngling asked
"The will of the Force is a powerful thing one day a deep spacer ship came to Eywa'eveng I stowed on board when I was not much older than you are now" Sruun said gently poking the Rodian youngling in the stomach making him laugh
"My jedi master found me and brought me here to the temple where I became a jedi knight" Sruun said completing his story
"Which you will be one day as well" Sruun said
"Knight Näruitan is very wise younglings" Master Sinube chimed in with a smile "all great jedi knights began their journey where you are now as students if they can do it I see no reason why you can't do it too"
"That's right" Sruun agreed smiling "have a good lesson" as the younglings thanked him for the story waving goodbye before following after Master Sinube
Once they were gone Sruun got back onto his feet before he continued making his way for the minions
There were some details he had omitted to tell the younglings
Like being banished from his clan by his people for being force sensitive his parents labeling him as a demon after he had used the force to save his brother from a palulukan the tsahik had denounced him as a heretic to the will of Eywa for his actions
The deep spacers whose ship he had stowed away had been pirates who were looking for a world in when they discovered him hiding in their cargo bay had planned to sell him to the slave markets on Zygerria
The only reason he wasn't living the life of a slave was master Ropals had been on a mission to capture the pirates and had rescued him just in time
The will of the Force at work just like he had told the younglings
In times of war like this the innocence of children needed to be protected whenever possible
Once the Na'vi knight arrived in the hangar he sensed a familiar presence diverting from his path he found the newest member of the council working on the propulsion system of his fighter his faithful astromech R2D2 at his side
"By the force a member of the council down here with the common people instead of sitting in his ivory tower" Sruun joked getting Anakins attention putting down his tools and got to his feet a grin on his face
"I'd watch my tone if I were you knight Näruitan if I were you" Anakin mock scolded Sruun bowed his head in faux apology tilting his ears down for effect
"My apologies Master Skywalker it will never happen again" Sruun conceded playfully
R2 made a sarcastic comment in binary before he took Anakins spot working on the propulsion system while the two knights laughed clasping forearms
"I see you Sruun Te Kuekìekfa Näruitan" Anakin greeted in the traditional greeting of Sruuns people
Sruun brought his fingers to his forehead before bringing it down
"I see you Jedi Master Anakin Skywalker son of Shmi" Sruun said adding Anakins new title to the greeting "congratulations by the way on becoming a master and at our age it's an honor" Anakin frowned something that Sruun noticed "I'm sorry did I say something I shouldn't"
"I might be on the council but I'm not a master" Anakin explained
"That doesn't make sense" Sruun exclaimed in surprised outrage on his friends behalf "you rescued the chancellor and defeated Count Dooku why would you not be a master"
This made no sense through out the war time and time Anakin and the 501rst had succeeded where many other jedi Sruun included would have failed from overcoming impossible odds fighting the Seperatists to exposing Barris Offee as the true traitor who bombed the temple
"They say it's because the chancellor is interfering in Jedi business by appointing me to the Council" Anakin answered frustratedly
Sruuns ears folded against his head as his thoughts turned suspicious the Supreme Chancellor in the entire history of the Republic has never appointed a member of the Jedi Council
Why would he do that
Yes Chancellor Palpatine has been a good friend and mentor to Anakin for many years and would have no doubt wanted to reward Anakin for his rescue from the durasteel clutches of Greivous
But the Chancellor had to know that this wouldn't be taken well especially with a stickler for the rules like Master Windu
What on Coruscant was Chancellor Palpatine thinking
Sruun was pulled out of his thoughts when his comlink chimed in "master we're waiting for your arrival" the voice of his padawan Thueban Kaa filled the hangar
"The impatient nantang doesn't catch the yerik my padawan I'm on my way now" Sruun replied before shutting off the comlink nodding to Anakin "when I get back from Ja'eron we should go to Dexxters"
"I'd like that" Anakin said "may the force be with you my friend"
"May the force be with you as well Master Skywalker" Sruun said with emphasis on Anakins rightfully deserved title before he headed towards his transport
The planet Ja'eron was not a place that most beings in the galaxy would choose to come the surface was covered in muddy sand filled ravines and canyons prone to flash floods due to the never ending iridescent rain that fell down from sky it was an ideal environment for the Ja'eronions who were a semiaquatic species standing at 1.8 meters with orange fur that acted as a water repellent keeping them dry
Something that Sruun did not have as he was drenched to the bone from the pounding rain and chilling winds
Why in the force would the Separatists want to take this rain drenched mud ball for anyways Sruun couldn't help but think as rain drops pelted against his body his robes drenched in water clung to his body like a second skin stood crouched in the opening of one of the planets many canyons waiting for his prey
He might have been exiled by his people but he had not forgotten their teachings he'd learned as a child he was a hunter though instead of prey to feed his tribe he hunted battle droids to protect the innocent people of the republic from the Separatists
Pouncing down from his perch Sruun ignited his emerald green light saber landing right in the middle of the line of spinning on his feet cutting through the battle droids in his path
"It's the jedi blast him" one of the droids declared before they raised their blasters and began to fire
Sruun leapt into the air the droids initial blast hitting more of their own Sruun landed in the entrance of the canyon in a form V stance deflecting bolt after bolt back at the droids
But for every droid he destroyed ten more took their place to fire at Sruun
'Well it looks like I've gotten their attention' Sruun thought before he ran into the canyon
"The jedi is retreating into the canyon" the B1 droid commander "follow him"
"Roger roger"
The battle droids pursued after the Na'vi knight stopping occasionally to deflect blaster bolts back into the lines of battle droids Sruun only stopped running when he reached the end of the canyon
"This is the end for you Master Jedi" the B1 droid said before blasters were pointed at Sruun and the clones Sruun smirked baring his fangs at the droids
"Not quite" he said activating his comlink "now"
At the top of the canyon emerged clone troopers and Ja'eronian soldiers led by Thueban Kaa a adolescent Thisspiasian with green scales black spots and brown eyes wearing jedi robes "open fire" the clones happily complied with the order raining blaster bolts down on the clones
"Let's go boys" Captain Gale shouted happily before he and two squads of troopers repelled down into the canyon
"It's a trap" the B1 droid shouted stating the obvious before Sruun rushed forward on the droid stabbing it through the chest with his lightsaber grabbing the downed droid he threw it at another stepping forward spinning his saber in a circle around his body reflecting more bolts into the mass of droids hissing and baring his fangs he leapt forward beheading several B1 droids
Turning he held his hand out force pushing a super battle droid that was about to fire on Gale the captain nodded gratefully "thanks General"
"You've the same for me more times than I can count" Sruun replied with a smile standing back to back with his captain as the pincer attack worked perfectly the few battle droids that weren't reduced to scrap were retreating
"Gale round up the men to deal with the stragglers" Sruun ordered frowning in concern for his second in command and friend when he didn't hear a response from Gale
Turning to Gale he saw him holding a holocaster the hologram of a disfigured man in a cloak the dark side of the Force emanating from him saying "execute order 66"
"Yes Lord Sidious" Gale said robotically no inflection in his tone like someone flipped a switch turning his friend into a battle droid
"Gale" Sruun asked in concern as troopers turned to him with their blasters raised pulling the trigger Sruun activated his lightsaber deflecting blaster bolts at the people he'd fought besides for the past three years defending the Republic
"Master" Thueban shouted fear and concern laced every syllable Sruun looked up at Thueban force pushing Gale and the other troopers before leaping up landing on the canyon wall the slick rock walls made him nearly lose his grip
"Blast him" Gale shouted having recovered blaster bolts fired up at him Sruun gripped the walls pulling himself up propelling himself with the force he landed on top of the canyon with his saber ignited deflecting his saber deflecting bolts protecting his padawan grabbing Thueban by the shoulder "come on" he shouted followed by the Ja'eronians
"Master what's going on" Thueban asked
"I wish I knew" Sruun answered wanting to know why the clones had suddenly betrayed them like this they reached a rocky outcropping
"What's going on jedi why have your soldiers betrayed you like this" the Ja'eronian commander asked
"I don't know" Sruun answered again as he tried to think of a plan
The clones would no doubt reach their position soon they needed to escape Sruun looked to Thueban he shook his head
No
Thueban needed to escape
"You have to get to the ship Thueban I'll cover for you" Sruun told him
"But master I can't do this without you" Thueban told him
"You can and you have to" Sruun answered standing up he ignited his saber resting the blade above Thuebans right shoulder
"By the right of the council"
Sruun moved the blade to Thuebans left shoulder
"By the will of the force"
Sruun carefully cut off Thuebans padawan braid "Thueban Kaa rise jedi knight of the Republic" Sruun looked to Thueban "stay alive Thueban"
"I will" Thueban promised
The clones were approaching Sruun could sense them stepping out he ignited his saber as the clones approached surrounding Sruun "there's the jedi blast him" Gale ordered
"The Force is with me and I am one with the Force" Sruun said closing his eyes the first troops began to fire Sruun began to deflect the blasts back towards those who were once his friends his brothers
Now they were nothing
"The Force is with me and I am one with the Force" Sruun said
The blaster bolts kept coming and though he kept deflecting more were getting past his defenses hitting him trying to bring him down but he needed to endure long enough for Thueban to escape
"The Force is with me and I am one with the Force"
Srunn could sense Thueban leaving the planet away from the danger
Sruun smiled deactivating his saber
"The Force is with me and I am one with the Force" Sruun said for the last time before he was cut down by blaster bolts falling stomach first into the muddy ground of Ja'eron the life leaving his eyes
The war was over for Sruun Te Kuekìekfa Näruitan
There it's done
I've written and rewritten this story three times
Originally Sruun was going to survive Order 66 and would be killed by Darth Vader
Second it was going to be an anthology like Tales of the jedi/empire where I covered Sruuns life from leaving Eywa'eveng to Order 66
But writers block stopped me
So this the third rewrite was just Order 66
One thing I wanted to do was to give Anakin a friend his own age I feel like Anakin someone who thrives off personal connections would have friends growing up in the order and fighting in the Clone Wars
Sruuns name comes from a Na'vi name generator
Ja'eron comes from James Camerons name the Ja'eronians aren't a reference to anything I just wanted to make something up
His apprentice Thueban Kaas name means snake in Arabic and Hindi
His coloring is a reference to Kaa
