"Hey Anderson." He greeted the skittish looking Agent as he entered the bullpen, walking towards the kitchenette.
"Ummm," He quickly glanced in the direction of the closed off conference room before replying. "Ummm, morning Alvez. Ummm busy- See you later." Grant quickly brought his coffee mug to his lips as he scurried back to his desk.
"O-k-" Luke muttered to himself, baffled at the other Agent's reaction. Wondering why the blinds were closed as he filled his cup before walking to the conference room. He had received a text letting him know to go there for a briefing.
"What the fuck is he doing here?" He asked as soon as he entered the room, promptly recognizing the back of the man's head.
Luke slammed his cup down. The coffee sloshing. Droplets landing on the table.
"Alvez-" Emily looked up from her seat.
"Prentiss- what the hell is he doing here?" He asked again, pointing in Green's direction.
"If you let me speak-" Emily tried again.
Everyone turned to the other door when they heard a chuckle. "Told you should've spoken to him sooner."
"Thank you, Dave!" Prentiss uttered annoyedly at the older man stating the obvious.
"Everyone, here, knew?" Luke interjected. His astounded tone matched his incredulous expression.
Tara averted her gaze as he scanned the room- taking in each of his colleagues' faces.
After a prolonged discussion with Prentiss, Lewis had finally relented and agreed that perhaps it would be best to keep her lil Bro in the dark about their new consultant until the last possible minute. That way, Tara hoped Luke too, could rest during their break. She wasn't quite sure anymore. The look of betrayal on Alvez's face had her look away. Hers was probably the silence that stung the most for Luke.
A smug grin on his face, Tyler saluted him. "Good Morning SSA Alvez, nice to see you too." He was gonna enjoy this. "What can I say, the BAU Ladies can't keep away from me!"
"Give me that!" Luke growled, taking a step closer to him, snatching the remote from his hands.
"It's all yours-" Green chuckled (nervously), trying to cover the fact he had flinched at the SSA's approach.
"Fuck!" Luke's attention was soon diverted from the odious man sitting in his habitual seat.
He looked up when the unmistakable click-clack of her heels, on the long catwalk to the room, rang through. Rossi went to take a seat, so Alvez moved in front of that entrance. Blocking most of her view. Allowing PG space to only take a couple of steps inside the room.
"Ah, wasn't that week off just what we needed!?" She proclaimed, almost walking into Alvez. She looked at him perplexed. She had thought he'd move.
When he just stood there, mouth agape, staring at her, she smiled at him. "Morning- am I allowed in!?" She asked jokingly, shaking her head at him. Waiting to be let through.
"Garcia, Chica-" He paused as he tried to find the right words.
A couple of minutes elapsed. "Mk-" Since he seemed to need time, she took the opportunity to address everyone else. "Morning fellow crime fighters and guest-"
"You knew, too?" Luke shrieked, stupefied by that knowledge.
Garcia looked at him surprised. Emily should've known better- she thought to herself. "Of course, The Boss Lady called me and Rossi in for a meeting a few days ago to discuss this-"
"And… you're ok with it!?" Had he landed in a parallel universe?
"Yes, I mean, for the good of the case - right!?"
"The good of the case!? What about what that Bas- that guy- did to you- to Rossi…"
"Water under the bridge." She stated dismissively.
Was she happy about having to work with the slimeball? Heck no!
However, hard as it was to, she had to admit that it had mostly been her own fault for getting dragged into Green's web of deceit. Emily, even Luke, had tried to warn her. At the time though, she had different 'priorities'. Fine! After the long (Covid) shut down, she had been - fluff- no other way to describe it really- she had simply been, quite horny.
But that was then.
She had eventually caught herself and moved on. Away from Tyler and his lies. Hopeful, after that afternoon at her place post Bailey's funeral, their little chat, that she could finally move in the direction of the right man.
The one she should've chosen all those years ago.
"Is this like a 'candid camera' joke!? A joke I'm not getting by the way." Continued Alvez, still unable to comprehend how everyone in that room could be ok with having to share it with Green.
"This is called being an adult." She stared in his aggrieved eyes. She softened her tone. "Newbie, we all need to do things we might not like. But we do them cos we have to look at the bigger 've all made sacrifices- still are… Tara with Rebecca. Rossi with Green- well all of us with Tyler, really- granted he has a lot to answer for-" She sighed as she continued. "Unfortunately, he also has some good insights into what we all know is one of the most challenging cases we've ever had to deal with. Which is getting even more complicated-" She stated gravely.
"Relax man-" Tyler spoke up from behind them. "I'm your ace in the hole, and I'm really good at filling holes…" He smirked as Luke turned to regard him. "You can ask Penny about it-"
"You fucking asshole!" Luke turned to move towards him.
He felt her hand grabbing his arm, stopping him. "What are you doing?"
"What do you mean what am I doing? Didn't you hear him?"
"Yes, and I chose to ignore him. Not let him get to me. You should try it."
"Ok, let me get this straight. After all he did- you're ok working with him and you're gonna let him talk to you like that?" He posed infuriated.
"Well- n-"
"Because I'm sure as hell not!"
"So you're gonna get yourself in trouble? Give The Boss Lady a chance to demote you again? You know she loves doing that." She pointedly looked in the direction of a smirking Emily. She had already remonstrated with Prentiss back when. Nope, not that display in front of Luke. Their private chat, when Penelope had pointed out to Emily the injustice of it all- especially after the Simmons' (justified) incident, where there were no similar repercussions. And that had nothing to do with Garcia being stuck with Alvez for a lab partner. It was to do with principles and (her) Newbie being unfairly treated. "It has been a while since and she's been itching to do it again." PG goaded their Boss, before turning back to him.
"Garcia that's not an issue-"
"It is for me. Are you gonna let me down, too?"
"What do you mean?"
"You said we would do this-" She pointed around them, the room, the case boards, their colleagues and their guest. "-together. Are you reneging on your promise?" She stared at him with such a disconsolate look that he almost forgot himself.
All he wanted to do was reach out and take her in his embrace. Renew his oath that he would always be there for and with her.
He spotted Rossi's grin in the background.
"I would never, that is why I'm saying he-" Luke tried.
"He doesn't matter." She waved in Green's direction dismissively. "It is - was!?- supposed to be me and you." She restated her stance, whilst querying whether he still felt the same, as she pointed at herself then Luke.
"Is- IT IS- Me & You!" He confirmed resolutely. He inhaled deeply, taking a steadying breath on the exhale. "Still, that doesn't mean he gets to speak to you that way, he-"
She interrupted him, wanting him and Green to hear her statement clearly. "That's the one and only barb he gets in. I'm quite positive I don't need to remind him that you're gonna be there to keep him in line- that if he transgresses from the paved path, he's gonna find himself alone, with you. Some place where there are no witnesses- no CCTV-" She stopped pensively, before adding with a wicked smile. "Truth be told, the latter doesn't even matter since I can hack and scrub any footage at will." - "But-" She halted, ghosting Luke's hand with hers.
"But!?" He asked in a whisper. Her slight touch, already bringing him some peace.
"But for that to work, I need you to be here, with me, on the Team. In your full SSA role." Seeing Luke still hesitant, Garcia interlaced her fingers with his. "Please!?" She begged in a coo.
Alvez huffed and sighed. Normally, he'd do anything for her- immediately. No questions asked. However, he couldn't stand their current situation, nor the guy. How Green had used her then. How she was willing to work with him now.
Luke had to pause. Forgo the slapping of his head at his 'Duh!' realization. His true concern. The worry that his Chica might fall under Tyler's spell again. After all, she had told him all about how she had enjoyed that particular encounter.
Fuck! Although they had spent their week off apart, they had spoken every day, sometimes multiple times. Her (with the excuse of) asking about Roxy. Him (with the pretense of) asking for help with tricky recipes.
In the end he did what he always did whenever Garcia was involved. He relented to her demand. "I'll try." He mumbled most unconvincingly.
"I'm sure you can do better than try!" She shook his hand still in hers, calling his attention back to their discourse. Prompting him to look at her.
"Mmmfff- Garcia-"
"Please, for me!?" She asked again. Taking a step closer to him, lifting his hand between them, to her chest, cradling it with both her hands.
She smiled that innocent (bewitching, fuck! 'Cock throbbing' inducing!) smile of hers at him.
He smiled that sweet (heart fluttering, frack! Panty soaking!) smile of his at her. "I promise." He swore sincerely.
"SAP!" Green chuckled in a cough.
As Alvez's head began to turn in his direction, Garcia's hand moved to his chin. Bringing him back, to face her.
"Thank you." She sealed her appreciation with a peck on his lips. "Mmmhhh!" She moaned softly at the unexpected taste. "You had coffee!" She stated as she pulled back, her eyes re-opening on his smiling face.
"Just a sip-" All he could reply, still stunned by her kiss.
"I haven't had any at all this morning- this tastes really good." She grinned, turning to look at their Boss. "Emily, I'm gonna have some more coffee. You might want to avert your gaze." She continued.
Before a confused Prentiss could ask for a clarification, the blonde grabbed Luke by his shirt, pulling him to her for a deeper kiss.
Alvez managed to get over his initial shock at lightning speed. His arms moved and tightened around her waist. Hers interlaced around his neck. Their moans deepened. Their panting increased.
Even their friends' laughter didn't seem to break that particular spell they found themselves in.
Tara's sniggering comment of "Who's the SAP now!?" to a gobsmacked Green finally brought them back to the room.
"Shall we carry on!?" Garcia asked.
"Here?" Luke replied.
"Newbieee! The case first-" She laughed as he blushed.
"Oh-" He said, pulling the seat (farthest from Tyler) out for her. He lowered his head to whisper in her ear.
"Can't wait to have seconds and thirds at my place later." Luke stated, with a sensual smirk. Enjoying her flushed, surprised reaction at his statement, as he sat next to her.
