Welcome all to my newest and brand new fanfic, Yugioh: Legend of the Hearts! In this story, we see if 3 duelists that don't know each other can help save a beautiful island nation from being taken over by a dark and ominous shadow . This will be combined Yugioh and Super Paper Mario story. Here are our rules. I will be using all of the current OCG/TCG rules of the game the only difference i'm doing is the Pendulum Zones will have their own slots and not take up two Spell or Trap Zones. I'm using both the current OCG/TCG banlists (OCG Current: April 2024) - (TCG Current: January 2024) and combine them to make one list for the story (I will use banned cards if I have to and will update the story to use the newest ban list changes when I have to, but these will be the main lists I'll be using. Link and Pendulum monsters will be seen and I'm going to try to use decks I've never used before to make this a very fun story. At some times, I will also use cards made by myself, other writers and cards that are only in the manga and anime (Except for the new cards seen in the Sevens and GO! Rush Animes as they are exclusive to OCG). Also, I'll be using American names, but if the Japanese names are better (Destiny Hero and Sin monsters for example), I'll use the Japanese ones. Also, when I use a "Hero" monster, It'll stay as Hero instead of the TCG way of HERO and also, for cards that are created by me and others, I'll put in GY instead of graveyard. For this chapter and future chapters, one real TCG/OCG card will have a small change in its name to make it easier to write out. With all of this said and done, let's get this story started! Like all of my stories, this story will be dedicated to my wonderful and loving mother who sadly passed away on September 1st, 2021 and is now in the heavens and my also my wonderful uncle who passed on February 28th, 2023 and my aunt who passed on in November of 2023. A large dark castle on a large island / 10:00pm
Inside of a dark room on a far away island, a lone figure was watching a crystal book infront of from him while sitting in a black chair. Next to the figure was a pedestal that held a large black book of some sorts. Nearby, a tall shadowy man with a monocle, a black cane, hat and cape was there and looking at a huge dark book and nearby was a large black crystal ball nearby.
He kept looking at his book and he resumed, ""Let's see if we can find these duelists."
"Sir, I'm here for you now.", a young feminine voice said from behind.
He turned around and a young lady with pink hair and wearing thick glasses that covered her blue eyes on her pretty face walked in and he replied, "Hello, Nastasia."
She smiled and replied, "Evening, Count Bleck. What you looking for?"
"These 3 duelists that guy from Flipside wanted to invite here for a dueling convention this summer. Where could it be?"
Suddenly, a obese and chubby man with a Scottish face walked in and he began to speak, "Man, what eh' day for me. What up with ya, Count?"
Bleck turned to him and replied, "Finding the descendants of those 3 legendary heroes that came to the island and sealed away that ancient foe, O'Chunks."
Suddenly, his crystal ball began to glow and he replied, "Time to see what we have here."

Mobile Convention Center / Mobile, Alabama
Currently during the Spring in Mobile (it was sunny beautiful day outside at about 73 degrees that day for a high), a popular Duel Monsters tournament was happening at the big convention center in the middle of Mobile against two amazing duelists from the state. On the right was a 5'5 female named Erica Robertson and she wore glasses over her blue eyes and she had blonde hair with pink and black highlights throughout it and In front of her was a 1 facedown monster On her opponent's side of the field was a Sea Serpent of Darkness (ATK: 1,850) and a 7 Colored Fish (ATK: 1,800) and his name was Kenny (Kenneth) Smithson and he wore a white shirt and blue jeans. the girl was wearing a white shirt with a large red dragon on it and and she wore a white and red skirt as well as a necklace around her neck that had a small golden dragon on it. Her left arm was covered with a large black dragon tattoo and her right arm had a red dragon tattoo on her other arm and she had the words DRAGON QUEEN tattooed in big black letters across her chest with small red flowers across it as well.

"Next turn, your facedown monster is history, girl. end my turn now."
She drew a card and replied, "I Tribute my facedown Golem Dragon for my Des Volstgalph."
The facedown monster broke apart into particles as the huge rocky desert-like dragon appeared (ATK: 2,200).
"I attack your 7 Colored Fish and when it crushes a monster, you take 500 damage as well."
The dragon roared as a huge burst of fiery energy mixed with dust shot out and slammed into the Fish and it flopped around before shattering to pieces (Kenny LP: 4000 - 3600) and then more of the attack struck him down (Kenny LP: 3600 - 3100).
"Your turn now, buddy."
He nodded and resumed, "Your a fun duelist to face. I'll switch my Serpent to defense and then I'll set a new monster facedown and a card facedown and that's all for me."
She drew a new card and then resumed, "I summon my Luster Dragon."
She played it and a beautiful jeweled dragon appeared (ATK: 1,900).
"I attack with Des Volstgalph."
The large desert dragon roared as a burst of energy shot and struck down his serpent and then a burst of energy struck her down (Kenny LP: 3100 - 2600).
"Luster Dragon, your turn."
The dragon roared and let out a small burst of green flames and a Morphing Jar appeared on the card (DEF: 600) and the flames covered it and reduced to hot ash and he discarded a Island Turtle and she didn't discard anything herself and both drew 5 cards and then she resumed, "I'll set a card and that's all for me."
He drew a card and then resumed, "I'll use the effect of my Tidal, Dragon Ruler of Waterfalls. I'll discard it and a fire monster to destroy a monster you control!"
He banished his Serpent and 7 Colored Fish and she resumed, "I activate my Fortress Whale Ritual."
The Spell appeared.
"I'll discard my Amphibian Beast and Doom Kraken for the offering."
The two sea creatures appeared and vanished from sight as the huge whale with cannons on its back appeared (ATK: 2,350) and he resumed, "I activate my Smashing Ground!"
The spell appeared and her Des Volstgalph shattered into pixels.
"Tidal attacks your dragon and my Whales hits you directly!"
The huge water dragon let out a huge stream of water and it struck down her dragon and smashed it into shards and the other sea creature charged fred its cannons and struck her down (Erica LP: 4000 - 1350).
"There you go! I end my turn now."
She drew a card and then resumed, "I activate my Monster Reborn on my Des Volstgalph."
The huge desert-like dragon appeared (ATK: 2,200)
"I now activate my facedown Call of the haunted to bring back my Wish Dragon I discarded with your Jar."
She played it and a small horned dragon appeared (ATK: 700) and then I resumed, "I'll use its effect and tribute it for two Dragon tokens."
It vanished and two smaller forms of the dragon appeared (ATK: 0 x2) and she smiled and resumed, "I'll tribute both tokens to summon one of my best Dragon monsters and that will be my Tyrant Dragon."
The two tokens shattered to bits and the huge fiery dragon appeared (ATK: 2,900).
"Time to do this. Tyrant Dragon, attack!"
The mighty dragon roared as a huge burst of flames shot out and struck his Tidal down and ir roared before exploding in a scalding cloud of steam and then more flames shot out and struck his whale down and it let out a bellow before bursting into shards and pixels as well (Kenny LP: 3000 - 1950) and he smiled and resumed, "You are a great duelist, girl. Go for the win."
"Thanks for a great duel, buddy. Des Volstgalph, attack directly!"
The dragon roared as a a fiery burst of energy shot out and struck him down (Kenny LP: 1800 - 0) and a nearby announcer smiled and resumed, "Erica Patterson is our winner!"
The crowd cheered as she raised her hands in the air.

the count's crystal ball went dark and he nodded and resumed, "A really well made Dragon Deck I see. She's a decent duelist."
"Please!", O'Chunks said with a deep Scottish accent. "My deck would cream that kid's wussy Pyro to a pile of mush in 6 turns."
"Let's only hope you can count that high, fool.", a girl's voice said.
O'Chunks turned around and a young teenaged girl with green hair and freckles on her face appeared in front of her and she wore a white dress and O'Chunks looked at her and replied, "Damn it, Mimi! I told you not to insult me on a daily basis!"
She laughed and then replied, "Didn't gave a crap about what a whiny buffoon like you wants! Don't care at all!"
"You want to make to tug those pigtails and throw your butt in the ocean outside?"
Nastasia looked at them both and replied, "Quiet, both of you. Who ever talks again is doing extra work tonight and all day tomorrow."
They both sighed and she turned to her boss and resumed, "Anyone next, Count Bleck?"
He looked at i very closely and he replied, "Getting another vision."

Panama CIty Beach Beachside Arena
At the final round of the Florida State Championship, a girl and a boy were dueling for the final match. The guy name (A muscular guy named Anton Rechanov who was born and raised in Moscow, Russia before moving to the US 5 years ago) was a tall duelist and he wore a blue shirt and black jeans and he had a Vorse Raider (ATK: 1,900) and a Dark Blade (ATK: 1,800), 1 facedown card and 2 cards in his hand. The girl (Her name was Jamie Masterson) and she is a woman that showed a Lion and Tiger facing each other and blue shorts with a belt in it as well as well as well as glasses for her outfit. Her left arm was covered in a complete sleeve of flower and star tattoos and her chest had a tattoo of a large pink heart surrounded by flames. She had a facedown monster and she had 3 cards in her hand and he had only two.

Anton resumed, "Time for me to battle some more. Vorse Raider will attack facedown monster."
It charged in and a short female demon with four different-sized wings and a dragon-like tail appeared on the card (DEF: 2,000) and she giggled as she pushed the beast warrior back (Anton LP: 2600 - 2500) and Jamie smiled and resumed, "I guess my Alice, Lady of Lament was a bit stronger in defense."
"So it is. I'll end my turn now."
She drew a card and she nodded and resumed, "I tribute Alice for my Beast of Telwar!"
The demon let out a small evil grin before she vanished into dark particles as a tall green-skinned demon with many bladed weapons appeared (ATK: 2,400).
"I attack your Dark Blade!"
The fiend went and slashed at the Dark Blade with its swords and it moaned and then burst into shards (Anton LP: 2500 - 1900).
"Your move now, buddy."
He drew a card and resumed, "Switch Vorse Raider to defense and then Set a new monster and that's all for me, miss."
She drew a card and then resumed, "I summon my Opticlops."
She played the card and the one-eyed ogre appeared (ATK; 1,800).
"I attack your Vorse Raider."
The demon ogre charged and rammed its horned head into beast warrior and blasted it to triangles.
"My other one attacks."
It went in and a Morphing Jar appeared on the card (DEF: 600) and it sliced it in two with its swords and both had nothing to discard and then both drew 5 cards and then she resumed, "I'll set a card and its your move now."
He drew a card and then resumed, "I activate Change of Heart on your of Beast of Telwar."
The infamous Spell appeared and it was pulled to his side of the field and she groaned and replied, "I forgot that evil Spell was unbanned in the first place."
"I tribute your monster for my Choju of the Trillion Hands."
They all saluted her and all of them vanished into particles of light and a golden statue-like Fairy appeared (ATK: 1,600) and he resumed, "When Choju is Summoned, I can grab a Ritual Spell Card and a Ritual monster from my deck."
He grabbed the cards and resumed, "I now activate my Synthesis Spell Ritual Spell."
It appeared.
"I'll tribute my monster and summon my Lycanthrope."
The Fairy faded away and then a savage Werewolf appeared (ATK: 2,400).
"I attack your monster."
He went and slashed at her ogre and blew it to shards (Jamie LP: 3000 - 2400) and he nodded and resumed, "You take damage for each Normal monster in my graveyard times 200 and I have a total of 8 of them."
A burst of 8 flowing red skulls shot out and struck her as well (Jamie LP: 2400 - 800).
"That's all for me."
She drew a card and resumed, "I use the effect of my Zalamander Catalyzer. I Reveal it and another Fiend monster and I can Special Summon one and discarded the other one."
She revealed the card and a monster known as a Diabolica the Draconique General and she discarded the Zalamander card and then placed the card on her duel disk as a large female demon with half of a body of a demon and and the other half a demonic-like dragon with a trident-like weapon appeared (ATK: 1,900) and then she resumed, "I now summon my Archfiend Soldier."
She played the card a demon-like soldier appeared (ATK: 1,900).
"I attack with my Diabolica now."
The demon went in and she resumed, "I activate my Bark of Dark Ruler and I'll drop 700 lifepoints."
Her facedown card lifted up and she glowed (Jamie LP: 800 - 100) and his monster growled in pain (ATK: 2,400 - 1,700) and then her demon stabbed at the Ritual monster and it howled in pain before it exploded into triangles (Anton LP: 1900 - 1300) and and he nodded and resumed, "Your are one amazing duelist, my friend. Go for the win."
"Thanks for a great duel. I attack you directly."
The soldier went in and slashed at him and knocked him back (Anton LP: 1300 - 0) and the female announcer nearby nodded and replied, "Folks, we have a winner! Your Florida State Champion is the one and only Jamie Masterson!"
The crowd cheered as she smiled to the people watching the duel.

The crystal ball went out and he nodded and resumed, "A Fiend deck. It looks like a really amazing and powerful deck. I'll have to keep a eye out for that deck."
Mimi then replied, "Please, even my deck is stronger then hers..I and I don't even have one yet!"
Nastasia then replied," It's your duty to get one ready, could need you at anytime to duel."
The green haired girl sighed and replied, "Yes, madam."
She walked out of the chamber and suddenly, Bleck's crystal began to glow again and he replied, "One more to go."
He continued to look into it.

Grand Ole Opry / Nashville, Tennessee
Usually with only country music concerts were held there, the Grand Ole Opry was hosting the Nashville Masters Duel Monsters Tournament for the first time and it was at the final round. The duelist on the left (A 18-year old girl named Shelly) had a Nin-Ken Dog (ATK: 1,800) equipped with a Mage Power (ATK: 1,800 - 2,800) thanks to the Equip Spell and the about to be mentioned Banner of Courage) and also a Enraged Battle Ox (ATK: 1,700) and her opponent was intresting to say at least. She had blonde hair with pink streaks through it and she wore a black shirt with a scene of a dolphin jumping out of water and also wore a black and purple skirt as well and her legs had tattoos of red skulls, stars and red roses on both of them and covering her right arm were various star, fire and flower tattoos. She had a facedown monster as well as 1 facedown card and she had 3 cards and her opponent had 2 cards in her hand. At the moment, Amber had a small lead.

Shelly laughed and resumed, "Time to keep my lead up on you! my monster attacks again!"
The dog ninja charged in and then she smiled and resumed, "I chain your attack with my Malevolent Catastrophe."
The trap appeared and the Mage Power and Banner Cards were blown to little bits (ATK: 2,800 - 1,800) and the Beast-Warrior rushed in It rushed in and a Iron Blacksmith Kotetsu appeared on the card (DEF: 500) and he drove his weapon into his chest and blew him to little bits and he grabbed a card from his deck.
"Your turn now."
She drew and resumed, "I'll discard my Turret Warrior to activate my Overdone Burial to bring out the Goblin Attack Force I had in there since I put them there earlier with my Foolish Burial."
The spell appeared and she discarded the card as the goblin troop appeared on the field (ATK: 2,300).
"Thanks to my Burial's effect, they won't have to switch to defense after attacking as well. Destroy Ox!"
The goblins rushed and pummeled the ox with its its weapons, smashing it to pieces (Shelly LP: 2800 - 2200).
"Lucky move. I end my turn now."
She drew a card and then resumed, "I summon my own Dark Blade."
She played the card and her own dark Blade appeared (ATK: 1,800).
"I equip Fairy Meteor Crush to my Goblins."
The spell appeared and they each had a big grin on their faces.
"I attack your Nin-Ken Dog."
Her swordsman went in and slashed at her dog ninja and blew it to little pieces.
"I attack with my Goblins."
The goblins charged in and a Morphing Jar appeared on the card (DEF: 600) and they smashed the Jar into little pieces (Shelly LP: 2200 - 500) and she discarded a card and both drew 5 cards and then she resumed, "I'll set a card and that's all form me."
She sighed and drew a card and then resumed, "I'll activate my Silent Doom."
The spell appeared and a Wolf Axwielder appeared and knelt down (DEF: 1,000).
"I'll set a new monster facedown and that's all for me."
She drew a card and then resumed, "She drew a card and then resumed, "I activate Monster Reborn to bring back my Manticore of Smashing I discarded earlier in our duel."
A much angry Beast-Warrior appeared (ATK: 2,300) and she resumed, "Thanks to his effect, I can get a Smashing Ground or Fissure from my deck during my Main Phase and I choose my Smashing Ground i'll use on your Dark Blade."
She grabbed the card and played the Spell and her swordsman moaned and then shattered into shards.
"I summon my Vorse Raider."
She played it and the dark beast warrior appeared (ATK: 1,900).
"I attack your Goblins and I use my Rush Recklessly!"
The huge beast growled and it glowed (ATK: 2,300 - 2,800) as a stream of hot flames shot out and blasted them all to ash and their burnt weapons clattered to the ground and then the Beast-Warrior rushed and slashed at her with the bladed weapon (Amber LP: 3000 - 600).
"Next turn, your done! I end my turn now."
She drew a card and then resumed, "I'm afraid your done now, lady. I activate my Monster Reborn to revive my Freed the Matchless General you destroyed earlier."
The spell appeared and her General appeared (ATK: 2,300)
She played the card and a mighty female fiery knight appeared (ATK: 1,900) and she resumed, "I activate my Reinforcement of the Army's Troops."
The spell appeared.
"Time for fighting. I attack with my Phoenix first."
He went in and she smiled and resumed, "I use my Troops card to Special Summon my Command Knight."
She played the card and the fiery knight appeared (ATK: 1,200 - 1,600) and her other Warriors glowed (ATK: 2,300 - 2,700) - (ATK: 1,900 - 2,300) and her General smirked and he jammed his sword into the huge fiery Beast and it let out one last roar before it exploded into shards (Shelly LP: 500 - 100) and Shelly groaned and resumed, "Damn, I was so close to beating you!"
"Not close enough, lady. Valkyrian Knight attacks next and that'll end this duel!"
Her last warrior charged in and struck down her final monster with her sword, blasting it to shards and then a small burst of flames struck her down (Shelly LP: 100 - 0) and a nearby announcer smiled and resumed, "We have a winner now, folks! Your Tennessee State Champion is the great Warrior master Amber Loucasta!"
Everyone cheered as she raised her arms in victory.

the count's crystal ball went dark and he nodded and resumed, "A really well made Ocean Deck I see. She's a decent duelist."
My niece has to have the biggest ego of any duelist I've ever seen. I bet she'll be back to our island very soo when she whines to my sister., Nastasia thought to her self and Bleck saw her and resumed, "Anything wrong, Miss Nastasia?"
She looked at her boss and nodded and then she resumed, "I'm okay, sir. That girl may be one of the ones your looking for, Count Black."
"You may be right about that one, Nastasia."
"I just noticed something, sir. The first duelist uses a deck based on a lot of Dragon monsters, the 2nd duelist uses a decent Fiend deck and the last one uses a decent Warrior Deck. These decks are really powerful."
Bleck nodded and replied, "I noticed that too, Nastasia. If they come to the island, make sure my troops keep a close eye on them all."
She nodded and she and O'Chunks left the room and he looked at the dark book and he laughed and replied, "With this book my side, the whole world and this silly island will soon be mine!"
"Bleh HEH HEH HEH BLECK!"

That ended bravely and these kids must be able to help us and stop Count Bleck before he takes over the island. Next time, we invite them them to our island and their families as well and we explain everything to them as well. Every will be explained when I, Merlon, have to explain it all and they learn about the "Future Glow" of our island. How will they take it in? Find out soon.
