Naruto wanted to think he was prepared for the coming of the demon, but when the time came, it still took him by surprise. He had been tending to a traveler suffering from a dizzy spell caused by a mischievous fairy when he felt a deep tremor in his core. Something had broken the barrier, and the wind suddenly picked up with a searing heat.
Naruto stood quickly, his heart pounding. The demon had arrived.
With swift movements, he rose his staff to the air and began chanting a spell, his voice resonating with urgency .
"Let the sky blaze with warning fire."
A blinding light erupted from his staff, shooting up into the sky, illuminating the entire village. This was the signal he had prepared the villagers for; when they saw the light, they knew it was time to run.
The villagers, seeing the signal, began to evacuate, running towards the forest where Sasuke would guard them from harm.
Naruto conjured his frog familiar "Go, evacuate the town Gamakichi," he commanded. "Lead them to Sasuke, he will protect them."
The ground shook as the demon approached, the air thick with the scent of sulfur and burning earth. Naruto grounded himself, gripping his staff tightly. He could feel the monstrous being in the distance. The demon's aura was suffocating
Naruto ran outside, his limp evident in the urgency of the situation. He shouted for the people to hurry, his voice a desperate plea against the chaos. Suddenly, from out of nowhere, a ball of fire and plasma fell from the sky. Naruto raised his staff, attempting to shield himself and his surroundings, but the immense power of the beast overwhelmed his defense.
The fireball struck the ground, exploding in a devastating blast. The force of the impact threw the blonde backward, his protective barrier shattering. He heard the screams of terror, saw the people burning in the inferno, and for a moment, he was paralyzed with fear, unable to think.
Desperation surged through him as he witnessed the slaughter. Shaking off his fear, he reached out through his magical bond with his familiar. "Find Tsunade and her apprentice," he commanded, his voice trembling but determined. "We need their healing powers for the wounded. And bring Jiraiya. I can't do this alone."
"Sasuke is aware, the crows will lead the evacuation. I'm on my way master" - Gamakichi disappear into thin smoke
Naruto struggled to his feet, the pain in his leg a sharp reminder of his weakness. He couldn't let despair take hold; there were lives depending on him.
He scanned the sky, his eyes narrowing as he saw the demon's fiery form descending. The ground trembled with each step the creature took, its roar echoing through the village. Naruto gripped his staff tighter, steeling himself for the battle ahead. He couldn't afford to let fear paralyze him. again.
Naruto panted, his breath coming in ragged gasps as he surveyed the town. Flames consumed the houses, casting an eerie glow over the charred remains of the villagers who had been too slow to evacuate. The air was thick with the acrid stench of burning flesh, and the screams of the dying filled his ears. Agonizing groans reached him, making his stomach churn with the urge to vomit.
Suddenly, the fox demon hurled a rock engulfed in flames, aiming it at a child who was crying for help. Without thinking, Naruto sprinted toward the child, his body moving on instinct. He managed to push the child out of the way but was struck by the flaming rock. The force of the impact sent him sprawling, and pain shot through his arm, leaving it hanging limp at his side. His vision blurred as blood trickled down his forehead, stinging his eyes.
The creature's eyes glowed with malevolent light, and an eerie smile curled its lips. It taunted Naruto, its voice a mocking sneer
"How brave you are, little mage" the demon hissed. "Tell me, how does it feel to watch them burn? To hear their screams as they die because you are too weak to save them?"
"I may be weak," Naruto said, his voice trembling but resolute, "but I won't stop fighting"
The demon's smile widened, its eyes narrowing with amusement. "Such bravery," it mocked. "But bravery alone will not save you. You are but a speck of dust before my power. The time of the demons has arrived, the era of men will fall"
While all of this was happening, Sasuke, was receiving the evacuees. They could not see him, but they felt his calming presence soothing their souls and easing their worries. His godly aura enveloped them, providing a sense of peace.
Sasuke waited until the last person had arrived before he flew to the edge of the forest. He was about to cross into the village when he slammed into an invisible barrier. A veil of magic prevented him from moving forward. Realizing what had happened, Sasuke cursed and howled in anger. This was Naruto's doing. He had made sure he wouldn't follow him into danger.
"You are not a martial god," a calm voice said from behind. Sasuke turned to see the slug sage, Tsunade, her expression serene yet firm. "Naruto knew you would be in danger if you joined the fight. Believe in him."
"But he needs me," he said, his voice breaking. "I can't just stand here and do nothing."
Tsunade placed a reassuring hand on Sasuke's shoulder. "He needs you to keep his people safe," she said gently. "Your presence here is just as important as his fight there" she then called her familiars, who appeared instantly at her command.
"Seek out any survivors and bring them to me," the sage instructed. "We must ensure that everyone is safe." The familiars dispersed, swift and silent.
Sasuke clasped his hands together, his eyes closing as he focused his energy. Softly, he began to chant:
"Sky above quench the flames, bring forth rain, cleanse this place."
As he finished, dark clouds gathered above the village, and a gentle, steady rain began to fall. The fires hissed and sputtered as the cool water extinguished the flames. Sasuke sent a wave of strength and hope to the blonde, his magic connecting with his beloved mortal.
